This was my first tattoo and i am absolutely thrilled to have had such an amazing experience. The owner Nick was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Jorge was the artist. He did some amazing work and just overall was a good artist. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in the door. Nick was extremely friendly and was just overall a good guy. Thanks Nick and Jorge i appreciate it.

This was my very first tattoo and I had a great experience. Jorge was my tattoo artist and he made me feel comfortable during the process. I also had the pleasure of interacting with the owner Nick who helped in figuring out my tattoo design. The space is gorgeous and super clean. I highly recommend Glided Unicorn Tattoo Parlor as the place to go for a tattoo.

10/10 experience! Nick was inviting, welcoming, and super awesome! Spoke to him on the phone to ask about walk ins and he booked us a time to go that day in just a few hours! When we got there the place looked a little weird on the outside but once you walk up the stairs its the cutest shop. The atmosphere was great and nick already knew who we were. He drew up the designs and got us sized up perfectly! Jorge was the tattoo artists and he was so sweet. He didnt speak much english but we chatted for a bit. He did amazing and then we got some candy before we left! I would recommend this place to anyone from a tattoo virgin to a tattoo veteran. LOVE LOVE LOVE

My mom and I got tattoos together for our birthday, and I have to say that everyone at Gilded Unicorn made that day AMAZING for us. Not only did we get sick/gorgeous tattoos, they literally treated us like they had known us for years and made us feel so at home and welcomed. We both will definitely only be coming here, in the near future, for the rest of our tattoos.

This place is awesome! Went in for a walk in and was able to get in that day. All the staff is absolutely amazing and go the extra mile to make you feel at ease and comfortable. The atmosphere is so inviting at this studio! When we first walked in we were immediately greeted by Amber who is a ray of sunshine! Kevin did mine and my friend’s tattoos and he did a phenomenal job on both of ours! Both had fine lines and he did amazing work and in great timing. I highly recommend Kevin and The Gilded Unicorn. This was my first tattoo and I will definitely be back for more!!

I could not recommend this place enough! Amber was amazing to work with when booking our appointment for the next day. It was easy to send in our pictures of what we wanted and she was extremely friendly. Once we got to our appointment we were greeted by Nick who was welcoming, friendly and helpful during the entire process! Kevin did our tattoos and brought our visions to life. Not to mention, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is awesome! If you’re on the Charlotte area, you need to book a tattoo here!!

I could not have asked for a better first-timetattoo experience! Eryn was SO kind, welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. It was so great getting to talk to her on a personal level as well as on an artistic one. This tattoo was dedicated to the memory of my best friend who passed last year (the two dates represent our birthdays, and the fish our zodiac sign), and Eryn was so collaborative and respectful in utilizing her artistic expertise while still listening to me and providing me with the design I wanted. I will definitely be returning to Gilded Unicorn for any and all future tattoos!!!

Absolutely wonderful folks! At 51, I got my first tattoo last night. My best friend (since 8th grade) and I have been talking about doing a best friend’s tattoo for years. We finally did it! They stayed open late for us, and took such good care of us. My daughter and her best friend also got their best friend tattoos. We all had such an amazing experience. They worked with us on the design until we were completely happy with it. I really can’t say enough how wonderful they were. What a wonderful first tattoo experience!

This tattoo place is amazing! All the artists are very talented and slim is amazing! Great atmosphere and great people, makes getting a tattoo fun and engaging. It’s worth the money, you pay for what you get and the attention to detail is impeccable.

I had an amazing experience getting my first fine line tattoo here. The studio is super cute, and Amber made booking a breeze, easily communicating through text and accommodating my request for a special date by squeezing me into their schedule last minute. Gilded Unicorn is definitely my favorite tattoo shop I have ever been to! I have gotten almost all of my tattoos here and every single time everyone is so welcoming and I have always felt the best atmosphere around me! I have also gotten my last piercing done here has well and it turned out amazing! I have mainly seen daniel for my tattoos, but I have also seen Slim and then Josie for my piercing. No matter who you see, you are guaranteed the best tattoo/piercing experience and leaving with amazing art! Always excited to go back every time :)

The shop is extremely clean and the atmosphere is great in there, they went the extra mile to make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying their time.I wanted to give a special shout out to my artist Camel. I’ve been getting tattoos from Camel for the better part of 5 years at this point. I’ve followed him to three different shops in two different states. His attention to detail and unique artistic vision always blows me away. Every time I leave the shop I’m beyond happy with my piece and always eager to recommend him. He’s the only person I trust to put ink on my body. He always nails it.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If I could give this establishment 100 stars I would!!! The experience from start to finish was wonderful and professional. My best friend and I came in as walk ins to get small matching tattoos to commemorate the ending of her birthday trip, Kevin did our tattoos and he definitely delivered! We love our tattoos. Additionally, I ended up leaving my purse at the shop and Nick reached to let me know, which was amazing because I hadn’t even noticed I didnt have it. We were already 2 hours down the road on our way back home and traffic was terrible so I instantly started to panic on the inside and without me asking Nick advised that he would make sure he got my purse to me. *Instant relief* I could not have went to a better shop! They truly care about their customers and their customers needs. If I am ever in Charlotte again I will definitely come here again.

I forgot to leave a review a while back when I got my piece done on New Year’s Eve last year. I loved the environment and the studio was super clean and well designed. Just a super cool atmosphere everyone there was nice and down to earth. Slim was the one who did my tattoo for me! He was awesome and I will be back one day when I want another one and have him do it! I work at a UPS Store(customer service) and I get compliments daily since getting this tattoo. People absolutely love the artwork and I have had many people ask me to write down the tattoo parlor and my artists name for them. Not sure if any of them have come in to get any tattoos done but I have referred at least 15 people to this place and to slim! Clearly I’m a five star review! Keep up the good work and energy! I am a fan of this place!

Josie is the best piercer I have ever had; she is incredibly knowledgeable about piercing and is so easy to talk to/plan a piercing with. Love love love Gilded Unicorn. They have a bright and fun vibe. My tattoo artist was Madison and she was fantastic through the appointment, making sure I had time for breaks and that I was comfortable. Her line work is immaculate and the shading on point. Everyone there is so chill, the music is great, and the owners Nick & Jayme are so attentive to make sure guests and artists alike are taken care of.

Came to get tattoos on my bachelorette trip! We had a group of 4 people getting tattooed (small tattoos but tattoos), we walked in and waited maybe 30 min for them to start! Great experience, and they made sure we were comfortable with everything about the experience! Would definitely recommend!

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish at Gilded Unicorn. I called 4 days before I wanted a tattoo to see if there were any appointments, and Nick worked with me to find an artist who could squeeze my cousin and I in. He was great at follow up and keeping in touch. When we went for our appointment, the vibes and look of the space blew us away. Such a cool place. We had Camel as our artist and he was amazing! He drew the design we wanted very quickly and was making us laugh and chat our entire appointment. The whole appointment was awesome, every person was friendly and kind , and this was my favorite tattoo experience so far! 10/10 would recommend gilded to anyone looking to get a tattoo in the Charlotte area!

Been to several tattoo parlors in my lifetime, never one this clean, kind and overall customer oriented w/ ridiculously talented artists. Camel was the best tattoo artist I’ve ever had done work on me, he was so caring, skilled, and light handed! His shading is ridiculous and nails in my cross are unbelievably vivid and realistic….not to mention original! Highly recommend GU but especially Camel!!! Thank you graciously!!

Say goodbye to the dark - dingy - probably not sanitary tattoo parlors of old. This place is amazing! Most tattoo places are simply about the tattoo, but this place gives an entire experience. The vibes are bright funky and fun. We worked with Kevin who did a fantastic job for us. Super happy with the results and look forward to going back here. Will be referring everyone we know. :)

I had such a great experience at The Gilded Unicorn! It was a very comfortable space, very clean, and very welcoming. I would absolutely come here again for future tattoos. I had the pleasure of having Slim @tat2slim work on my piece and I couldnt be happier with the results. I came to him with a bunch of print outs and vague ideas of what I had in mind and he made it happen perfectly!

If youre looking for a tattoo artist, get yourself in Daniels chair. I found Daniel through a referral from one of my closest friends. His fine line work is absolutely incredible, and I knew I wanted someone special to do the piece I had in mind. I was lucky enough to get to interact with Nick, the shop owner, as well. He was available to answer all my questions and went out of his way to make sure I had a top tier experience. The shop is warm, bright, upbeat. When I wasnt ogling at Daniels work on my arm, I was able to admire the other artists as well. I feel confident that someone wanting a tattoo can find exactly what theyre looking for in this shop.

Kam did an amazing job with a pet memorial tattoo for me. Her attention to detail and commitment to making sure it was just right was above and beyond what I could have hoped for, and she was so sensitive and understanding of how emotional a memorial tattoo can be (I think I cried 100 times). She worked so hard to make sure I had a beautiful piece of art so I can always remember my sweet girl. Kam knows a lot of different techniques and does them well (check out the smudgy snoot omg it is perfect) It was so cool to watch it all come together before my eyes and I am so appreciative.

I came to them with a very specific idea of what I wanted. My expectations were exceeded in every way. This was my first tattoo and I was a little nervous, but everyone made me feel comfortable and at ease.They also answered any questions I had. I went to Gilded Unicorn the other day for my first tattoo and had an amazing experience there. The Studio was clean and organized and they had drinks and snacks for their clients. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and engaged in what was going on throughout the studio.Camel was my artist and he was amazing! A friend of mine has gone to Camel multiple times and thought he’d be a good artist for me and he was beyond right. Camel spoke with me about what tattoo I was looking to get and designed exactly what I was imagining. He made sure I was comfortable and at ease with everything going on and walked me through what to expect before he started on my tattoo and then throughly went through the aftercare procedures with me. Gilded Unicorn is my new go to tattoo parlor! Having had bad experiences with tattoo artists in the past, I was nervous coming in for my tattoo. However, the second I walked in the door I was greeted with smiling faces and a bold yet functional waiting area to chill until my turn. Camel did my tattoo and kept me safe and entertained with his lighthearted demeanor and life stories. You can tell all the artists care about their art, but more importantly- you as a person. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to get a tattoo!

First things first, this is the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. Nick was amazing to work with on appointment set up and choosing my artist. He paired me with the beautiful Mickey for a memorial tattoo. Mickey worked with me to create the perfect floral bouquet to remember my mom. Me, my sister and a friend came in a little over a week ago and we had the best experience! It was my first tattoo and Camel immediately made me and my group feel at ease. Amazing! The studio is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. All the staff there was so kind. Harrison did a fantastic job on me and my bf’s tattoos. We went for a walk-in and only had to wait about an hour. The prices are also great, a small (about half dollar size) was $100 plus tip, I’ve had smaller, poorly done work, cost more. I’d 100% recommend this shop to anyone, best tattoo experience yet hands down!

Camel added some vines and flowers to an arm tattoo I previously had done. This tattoo addition was for two of my loved ones and was very meaningful. He did a beautiful job and made me feel comfortable by his kind demeanor.

This place is absolutely the best and Daniel is incredible. I finally decided to get my first tattoo, and after a lot of research, landed on Daniel at Gilded Unicorn. The process was so smooth, from booking, to designing my tattoo, to the actual day of the appointment. Daniel was really patient with me and made sure that I was 100% happy with the design by making any changes I wanted and showing me different options. The environment of the studio itself is so relaxing as well, which was great for a nervous first-timer like me. It’s calm, chill, with great music, comfy furniture, quirky decor, and even snacks! They were great about answering all my questions and were very informative about what to do/expect both during and after the tattoo. I am absolutely in love with my tattoo and I will definitely be coming back to this studio to get more art from Daniel!

As someone who is new to the world of tattoos I must say I was highly impressed with Gilded Unicorn, the owner Nick, and Erin, the artist I chose to do my first tattoo! The parlor itself is very inviting and feels more like a fancy coffee shop in Greenwich Village. Nick the owner is super helpful and made sure I was completely comfortable in all aspects. Thank you, Nick! I can’t say enough good things about my tattoo artist, Erin. She really listened and paid attention to the tattoo I wanted and together we came up with the perfect one for me. She is easy to establish a rapport with and doesn’t pressure you at all. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo and I dare say, I may be a return customer. They always say once you get one tattoo, you’ll want another. Time will tell, but when and if that happens, I will definitely return to Gilded Unicorn!!!

The entire crew was friendly and would come by to chat as my husband and I got our tattoos. We saw Daniel and I couldn’t recommend him more! We had messaged back and forth prior and when I got there, he had our design printed out in multiple sizes and had also inverted it in case we preferred it in another direction. Not once did he make us feel bad for wanting to change the placement or size (which has happened in the past at other places) And the best part? It didn’t even hurt!!! He wasn’t heavy handed whatsoever. They turned out perfectlly and We had Such a great time at Gilded Unicorn.

My experience at the gilded unicorn was amazing! our artist daniel was able to conveniently work me and my sister in at the end of the day during my visit to charlotte and worked with equal efficiency and patience. he took the time to adjust our tattoos until they were perfect and i couldn’t be more happy. the owner was also so kind and hung out with us during our visit. the conversation made the time go by and we felt so welcomed and comfortable. as for the building itself, it’s a small business park and looks a little plain on the outside but when you walk inside and upstairs, it’s a beautiful, clean, modern space. it has so many cute spots to sit, lots of natural light from the abundance of windows, a tv for entertainment, and drinks too! such a fun, collaborative space that feels genuinely welcoming and comfortable. you can tell the people who are there have worked hard to get there and care about their clientele. we will definitely be returning when we’re ready for our next tattoos!

I absolutely love my tatt by Slim. It was short 2 1/2 hours but he kept making sure I was good. I finally found my tatt place. My Hansa evil eye on my hand was probably less painful than any other of my 14.

I came here on friday with my sister and a friend for my sisters tattoo and then my friend was convinced to get his first tattoo as well and then I was too! Ironically we were the three amigos getting our first tattoos in the span of 2 hours. If me and my friend didnt walk in with my sister we wouldnt have gotten our first tattoos together. Camel is an old friend of mine and when I knew I was going to be in Charlotte for the weekend I asked him to do a tattoo for me! He spent a lot of time tweaking designs and showing me different options to make sure it was exactly what I wanted! He was very gentle and it was definitely one of the least painful tattoos I’ve had.Overall, the shop was absolutely gorgeous and immaculately clean. Nick was hospitable and offered us drinks, candy, etc. while we were there. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants to have a great tattoo experience.

Felt so welcoming and calming to be in there. i was offered water, snacks, and i felt really comfortable getting my tattoo. I worked with Camel earlier this week for a scar cover up on my arm, and it is just gorgeous!! I was nervous about finding someone who was comfortable doing an abstract art style, as well as covering up scars. I had some keloids as well as indents in my skin, but the tattoo came out gorgeous and I couldn’t be happier. I feel so much more confident and I recommend this artist highly. Conversation was lovely and comfortable..this was my first tattoo as well :) I will 1000% work with him again.

Had my very first tattoo and it was a great experience! My artist was Mickey and I am not exaggerating when I say, that woman has an angelic touch. She brought my vision to the art and came up with just the right design. Being my first tattoo, I was a bit nervous. However, she made sure to explain the entire process as she was taking me through the tattoo. Honestly though the entire staff was amazing! They all made sure that I was comfortable and felt like I was amongst friends.The shop itself, WOW! About 2 weeks ago I saw Eryn, at the Gilded Unicorn to get a very delicate dragonfly (My 3rd) with a lot of meaning behind it and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I recently went to Gilded Unicorn Tattoo parlor and I couldnt be happier. I had a symbolic back piece done and sent my ideas over and Kam had an amazing design prepared when I arrived. She is so talented and I couldnt be happier with my new tattoo addition!After my session when I was checking out one of the owners gave me a face wash/tattoo wash that they sell there and it not only has helped to keep my tattoo clean and healing but I have now switched out my face wash as well!I will 100% be going back for another session with Kam and would recommend the studio to anyone.

First of all I am so happy with my tattoo it was my first time getting one and I had looked up a good tattoo artist for lettering and was! So the only thing I could complain about is that the building is a bit hard to find if your not familiar with the area but the overall service was immaculate. When I walked in they greeted me and told me everything I needed to do it was all online so it was easy to complete, I was also offered water and snacks along the way. The tattoo was done by the artist “Slim” highly recommended he didn’t rush me and helped me feel safe and comfortable throughout whole appointment the tattoo itself is exactly what I asked for could not have been better!

Wow. that’s literally all i can say when describing this place. i got my first tattoo here and when i walked in, the environment was clean and friendly. it did not feel like any other tattoo parlor, it kind of felt like a hair salon almost. everyone was so kind and helpful. i got a smaller tattoo and was in and out in less than 40 minutes. my artist was eryn, and she was so kind and amazing. i would recommend this shop to anybody! will defintley be going back!

The entire vibe of the place was super chill and laid back. I immediately felt super comfortable and I already knew that Daniel was going to do the best job. I would 100/10 recommend going here especially to Daniel who specializes in fine line which is exactly what I was looking for and he did the most beautiful job on my sister in law and myself. I’ll definitely be booking again in the future with Daniel.

Ive been to Jesika several times for my tattoos, and she will likely be a part of all of the rest of them. The experience at the Gilded unicorn (but especially with Jesika), is one of my favorites. I have yet to encounter better people in a single atmosphere. I am honored to be a part of her tattooing history. They run their parlor with genuine care for the client and find little ways to elevate the tattoo experience. Everyone at Gilded Unicorn is so nice. The space is amazing and very relaxing. My artist was Mickey. She designed an amazing tattoo for me. She and I met ahead of time and talked about my vision. Her initial sketch was amazing and exactly what I had in mind. She took her time with placement and ultimately, the tattoo itself. She’s very gentle and honestly the tattoo was more relaxing than painful. I can’t imagine I won’t be back to Gilded Unicorn for another tattoo sometime soon. I got my tattoo done last week with Kam for the first time in this shop. I just want to start off with how cool the ambience was when you walked in. Felt more like a welcoming living room then just a regular tattoo shop. Then the customer service on top from Nick and Kam was terrific. Now let’s talk about the tattoo because Kam amazed me with it. We did a tiger with clouds and bamboo and she outdid herself. Everything about it was perfect. So if you’re looking for a dope place and talented person to get your tattoo done check them out.

I came in for a group session to get a tattoo from Jesikah. She and rest of members of the studio were incredibly kind, genuine, and welcoming. Jesikah made me and my friends feel special and comfortable. Her talent speaks for itself—the tattoos she created were so beautiful! Overall, I would highly recommend going to this studio for a tattoo!

Eryns been my artist for almost a year now and she’s done all of my work! It heals incredible and she’s absolutely amazing. Gilded Unicorn has a super great vibe. Everyone there is so so so kind, it’s super comfortable, and feels super professional! I dont see myself going anywhere else for tattoos.

She has a very light touch which made for a nearly painless experience and she makes sure to take the time to come up with the perfect design for your tattoo. I was looking for a tattoo palor to clean up a old tattoo because the original colors and lines were not looking good. After talking to Jamie I came to Gilded Unicorn. Here I met Slim who is very knowledgeable about tattoos. We decided to take my old tattoo and turn it into something new. Even though the half of the tattoo was completed. Im so happy how it has turned out so far. In a few short days ill be back to get coloring done. I also met another gentleman named Nick and he was really funny. My husband tagged along and was being very chatty with everyone. The environment is very relaxed and very clean. Im so glad I came here it is by far the best tattoo palor Ive ever been too. I highly recommended this place to anyone looking for a great tattoo. 😊❤️

Jesikah did some awesome design and tattoos for me and my friends! We all felt so welcome, were totally comfortable whe getting tattooed, and enjoyed our day hanging out! Not to mention the tattoos we got were cooler than we couldve thought. :) I definitely want to go back to get more!

I saw Jesikah’s work on a friend and knew I loved her tattoo style and line work. Was given her instagram, booked and discussed tattoo which I chose from her flash sheet. When I got there the owner was at the front desk and greeted us, got everything going smoothly and everyone was extremely nice the whole time. Asked if we needed anything multiple times. Jesikah even went as far as to collaborate with me on the layout and made a few changes. She made good conversation during the process and it didn’t even feel awkward like it sometimes does when seeing a new artist. Inviting staff and shop, super kind. Love my new forever piece!!! Including photos they took once it was finished!

I got an old tattoo covered up by Camel and he absolutely crushed it. I wasnt expecting much but he exceeded my expectations and this new piece if definitely my favorite. Also loved how the studio was set up and how nice everyone was. Loved this experience and will definitely be back for future tattoos.

I am so happy with my brand new tattoo from Daniel! I had an initial design for my grandmother that passed away a couple months ago and he brought it to life and exceeded all expectations. Truly what a gifted artist! I will be back!

10/10 would go back again! I was sooo impressed by the entire experience and the quality of the tattoos I received. This is some of the best line work I have on my body. Also, as a queer, non-white female, I felt VERY safe and comfortable there, and that is something I do not take for granted. I cannot wait to go back again.

First of all the environment is amazing! I want to live there the decor is so cool! Amazing customer service! Even more amazing tattoo! Line work is perfection and the artist was patient and very eager to make sure I loved the placement, size and design.

Came in and got an amazing cover up by Eryn. Probably the nicest, most talented artist I’ve ever gotten work from. Sent her random pictures of ideas I had and she created exactly what I wanted. If I could go back in time and have all my work done by her, I WOULD! Seriously happy with the fantastic work that she did. On top of that, just a really cool person to talk to while getting work done!
