Skin Evolution Tattoo

Came in earlier today looking for help with a forward helix ring that would not cooperate no matter how hard I tried!! After going to one place that couldn’t help me I finally found skin evolution tattoo and was greeted by the best people. Both the piercer and the woman at the front desk (unfortunately didn’t get their names) were extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful. In addition to the great customer service, the piercer fixed my jewelry within just minutes and answered any and all questions I had for him. I’ve been to many different places for piercings over the years, and will definitely be returning to them over anyone else. 10/10

Seriously hire better artists have had 3 tattoos done here and all where beautiful. Recently I was seen and learned that I not only overpaid for ink but the design is absolutely awful mistakes with the eyes and horrid line work. I had 3 good ones done here get the right artist and they will be fine. Josh is great and the owner is amazing this is a great establishment I just got a crap deal. Would you pay 220 for this?

Skipper is an amazing artist and took very good care of me. Her free hand space tattoos are out of this world. Austin is another artist there and is a super dope guy and hella easy to get along with. 10/10 would recommend them both for any tattoos you are looking to get.

My sister and I came in as walk-ins and had a wonderful experience with the tattoo artist, Joshua. He was respectful and very talented. His pricing was fair and if Im ever in the area I would LOVE to get tattooed by him again. Unfortunately, our friend who came in with us had a different tattoo artist, Austin, and she had a completely different experience. He was inappropriate and bordered on sexual harassment to the point where we did not feel safe leaving her alone with him. He managed to stain her shoes and shorts with ink and dumped sterile alcohol all over her. While his work was good, his bedside manner makes it so I do not feel like I could recommend this place.

Came from out of town with my cousin in early August to get a colorado tattoo here. Joshua was great and chill. i loved the vibe in this tattoo shop. way better than most of the ones back home here. would recommend this place and Joshua.!

I’ve been coming to these guys for a little bit now! Such cool/friendly people. What talented artists! Austin did my flash art tattoo and can I just say he KILLED it! Not only did the tattoo come out amazing but he was so much fun! 10/10 highly recommend for your next tattoo!

Jimmy and Austin were both absolutely amazing. I was very honored to have them do work on my husband and I. Jimmy does phenomenal work of all kinds. If you want script lettering done, definitely let Austin draw you up something. Thank you guys so much. When we need more therapy we will make sure we see you when we come to visit!! Austin did my Celtic cross and Jimmy did hubbys in memoriam.

Austin was awesome! Super cool dude he did a smaller tattoo, with fine lines, and shading for me. It was in an odd spot and he did great working around me twitching. Would definitely recommend

Hello all. My Significant other went to this place recently to get a tattoo. However, she not only left with a tattoo but one of the workers, a white man with brown facial hair and a cross by one of his eyes named Austin, had got way to close to her face and being over sexual to the point of harassment when he applied the oil onto areas that werent covered by the tattoo. This made them uncomfortable and not only that, spilled oil and stained their clothes and shoes with no apology, except for this little comment oh I guess youll have to get changed before you leave. I would avoid this place less you want to feel uncomfortable, harassed, clothing damaged, and possibly worse.

I got a tattoo today for the flash sale, I couldn’t be happier. Artist was super kind and so was everyone else in the shop. Didn’t get a chance to meet the shop owner but I overheard her talking to someone she was tattooing and she seemed super attentive and kind. Def looking forward to more flash tats in the upcoming months!

I had an exceptional experience getting tattooed here. The receptionist was very nice and the other artist were nice as well. I got a tattoo from Kevin. I let him know what I wanted and he drew me up a design that we both agreed on. He made sure I was comfortable and if I had the placement where I wanted it. Im in love with my tattoo. He did amazing work. I highly recommend him and Skin Evolution.

We came from a few different states for a girl’s trip and wanted to get tattoos together, the other shop we called a month prior to coming to C.S told us we wouldnt need an appointment since they were small tattoos. However, to our avail when we showed up, they said they couldnt do walk ins, that we had to have an appointment. So, we called around and Skin Evolution was able to accommodate all 4 of us. Kayla was super nice on the phone, and said she had an artist who could get us all in.We drove over and Joshual, was able to make our concept come to fruition. The shop was clean, staff was friendly, and the shop was busy. Joshual took his time making sure each of tattoos came out the way we wanted. He was super personable and his work was amazing. We were all happy with the price, tattoo, and the customer service. They stayed open past their time, just to get us finished. If I am ever in Colorado Springs again, Joshual and Skin Evolution will definitely get my business again. You guys were awesome!!

Went here today on a whim with my sister to get tattoos while she was visiting from Arizona and everyone was nice but we decided to get fingerprints heart tattoo with our handwriting and we waited a good 2 1/2 hours for Jay to draw it up and then he didn’t give us any size options either, they are really big but he said it was to get detail and with mine you can tell he tried to take his time and I like it it looks good and the writing on both look really good, but when it comes to my sisters heart it looks super rushed and doesn’t have as much detail as mine does which it should have as you can see in her stencil. Oh and they made you pay upfront before you get it and tip as well.. probably won’t be back to be honest

We went in with a gift certificate and received nothing but exceptional service. From the lady behind the counter to our tattoo artist Sherry, I am beyond impressed.

Skin Evolution is a nice little studio. Very clean and the people there are all nice. Kevin did my tattoo and was wonderful, he has worked with me on my tattoo a few times and does great work and is great company.

I love this place! I got a piece that was very important to me done by Josh and he did amazing! Took the time to work with me to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and made sure I knew everything about the healing process I needed to make sure I had the best tattoo. Will definitely go back and have all my work done by him! Everyone there is also super nice and the shop is very clean :)

I got a tiny tattoo with huge meanj g today. The staff was super friendly, and my artist (Jay) was super professional. Ive been looking for a new tattoo studio for a while now, and I think I may have found it today.

My family and I chose the shop specifically because we have always wanted to do the Get What You Get tattoo and Skin Evolution is one of the only (if not the only, that I saw) shops that does this in the Springs.The process was fairly straightforward, but I wanted to leave information for anyone else who is interested in it. All of our questions were answered and everything made clear beforehand, but it would be helpful if the shops website listed these rules ahead of time. For anyone curious, one of the main reasons you dont see many reviews or pictures of the flash is because the shops policy is no photography or sharing of the images before the tattoo, which we understood. There really is just a wide variety and it seemed like almost anything was possible (within reason/good taste) after we saw what each other got to choose from.When we went, the cost was $100 upfront for two tokens/tries. This is non-refundable and done up-front... so you choose between the two. If you go with a group, each person will take their own turn and you cant pool your choices and have each person pick. The second person will not be able to take their turn until the first person picks their flash and confirms this with the receptionist.The receptionist was able to have all 3 of us basically tattooed at once because several artists were able to accommodate walk-ins at the time. So, wait time was almost non-existent, which was a plus but will undoubtedly vary and should not be expected every time. All three in our group were able to discuss the tattoo with each artist and hash things out ahead of time. Paperwork process was painless.What you should expect is a simple tattoo roughly around the size of a half-dollar. Outline and some simple shading were what we were told was included in the price. However, each artist is essentially an independent contractor and will set their own policies on things like color. Depending on what you want with the art you get, they will discuss potential increases in price to account for extra materials/ink/prep time. My artist, Sherry (who was amazing) did not charge me for a small amount of color. The artist who did my wifes said he would charge extra for each color she wanted, but we werent blindsided or anything. As with any good shop, expectations and prices are communicated ahead of time even for these types of tattoos. So they came to an agreement pretty easily.All artists were quick in both prep and tattooing, and each step of the way they ensure the client is satisfied. We were all pleased with the experience and having been able to check this off our tattoo bucket list.Recommend that anyone who takes advantage of this kind of tattoo just exercise patience and (most of all) manages their expectations for a $100 tattoo. The staff and artists will ensure your experience is a good one... just treat them with kindness and respect!

Came here on a whim because me and the wife decided we wanted tattoos! I didnt know what I wanted but saw that they had the gumball machine where you pay 100 bucks for two tokens and get a design tattood on you. So I did that and super happy with the design!! Jay Newskool did my tattoo and he was super chill and it came out great, I cant wait to go back to him and get my next tattoo. My wife got a tattoo aswell that she had in mind for a while and got it done by a different artist and it came out dope as hell! Everyone at the shop including the front desk person was very friendly, chill and easy to talk to! Such a good experience and the best Ive had in a long time at a tattoo shop. 10 outta 10 cant wait to visit again!

While visiting Colorado Springs I was able to schedule with Elsa. She did an amazing job with the detail on my tattoo. Her passion for her work certainly shows she loves what she does!I would recommend her to anyone looking to get a tattoo done in this area.

The staff are great and very friendly and professional! Place is clean and looks great everyone is very approachable and I’ll definitely be coming back for more tattoos the new piercer is wonderful and I can hopefully come see him when I have more time Chris did my cover up and I love it

Got a tattoo from there (Norman Rivera, my husband) from Jay, and it got infected. He has 6 other tattoos, so he knows how to take care of them and spent an additional $25 on after care products, at a separate store, for tattoo maintenance. It didnt feel right as he did it either. He has, like I said, 6 other tats, thus, he knows how they are supposed to feel.

I went to this shop recommended by my sister in law. I was visiting from Miami and it was a last minute thing. I wanted the tattoo for a long time but was not sure where to get it. I walked in, ask for Josh and he was super nice and made my small tatto even better than what I brought in. If you are in Colorado and want to take a real souvenir with you with a great experience, this is the place to go!!!Ask for Josh!He was very sweet.

DO NOT GO HERE TO GET PIERCED!!!!!!! I got a piercing on one of my ears and the person who pierced it did not use any sterile tools he literally just used a needle and he poked me twice with two different size needles i went through so much pain. What could’ve taken 3 minutes took 15 minutes if I knew I was going to be pierced with a needle I would’ve done it at home this is not a professional place at all

Skin Evolution is great! The whole staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and go way out of their to make sure that youre taken care of. Ive worked with Elsa a bunch of times now. Shes awesome! Elsa is a joy to sit with while she somehow turns what feels difficult to describe into the perfect interpretation of whatever scraps of an idea youve got. Shes talented, creative, and makes sure youre keeping your head in the game with the occasional light hearted hows that spot feel? during what can be a mostly uncomfortable length of time. Regardless of who youre working with, the atmosphere in the shop is always inviting and warm. The whole staff keeps good comradery and its fun having other artists give their first reactions to the new thing that you now have the pleasure of seeing for the rest of your life. I highly recommend Skin Evolution for every service they offer!

I had gotten a tattoo a long while ago by an artist named Devin he did an awesome job and he even stayed past the time he was supposed to leave to finish off the tattoo 5+ good price, good artist, great experience

Very friendly and clean!! I got a piece done by Blake, and the tattoo I wanted was a very sentimental piece to me. Blake made sure it was exactly what I wanted and made the tattoo exactly to the picture I brought in. I have gotten so many compliments on it!! My wife and I are from New Orleans and flew to Colorado Springs for a vacation. We decided to get matching tattoos to always remember the trip. Our tattoos were very basic with the word adventure. The lettering is completely different sizes and wonky looking. I have several tattoo and this one is incomparable to the rest. Wish i would have looked into booking with a specific artist. Only thing good I can say is the place is very clean and quick to get you in.

I had a friend in town and we wanted coordinate tattoos of meaningful places. We walked in and the big guy was very friendly and told us when to come in the next day and that our tattoos would not be expensive. Sure enough, next day first thing we went and the artist was happy to do the tattoos and helped us find exactly the font we wanted. She placed it on our outer forearm and asked if everything was straight and if we liked it. We did of course. For mine- I did pikes peak coordinates and instead of drawing up a small generic looking mountain she made a smaller look of pikes peak so it would go with it. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Came in for a walk-in tattoo, also my very first. Was a little hesitant and nervous at first but once I saw the artwork Tommy brought out I couldn’t have been anymore excited. Left with a damn beautiful piece on my left arm that I can’t wait to show off this summer. Chill and comfortable environment, friendly staff, and some awesome professional artists. Would love to come back for more work soon! 10/10 all the way!

I dont think I even got my tattooers name. My bad. Anyway, he drew my tattoo up quick and wasted no time. Its not a huge tattoo but he took his time and I love it! Definitely what I was expecting! Thank you guys! Also the place looks great! Plus my touch ups are free if I need them!

Tommy did a great job adding some color and femininity to a tattoo another artist did a few years ago.

Great work , but not what I wanted. I’m a little country (Texan) , so I have a little twang when I talk but I asked for 81G, not A1C as my lady thought it said while laughing (I’m diabetic , so she thought I was really repping that diabetic life). Things got missed and I have to take part of the responsibility…it was free hand, not stencil; so as he was drawing, then wiping, then drawing again, then wiping , etc..when he asked me to look at it I really couldn’t make out anything to be honest, it was like a smudge with lines.. He said it’s gonna be bigger , darker, it’s not going to look like that, so I shrugged it off MY MISTAKE, I should of re- verified what I wanted since I couldn’t make it out. Lack of communication on this one cost me more then just $150.

This shop is very clean and all the staff is welcoming. Elsa does all my tattoos and piercings, she’s a very well rounded artist with a light hand and quality work. I would recommend anyone I know to this shop for great work and cleanliness.

Obviously this owner didn’t go to business school. Neither did I but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out an intake process that makes sense. Wait in line for 45 minutes to find out the person that does piercings doesn’t show up till 4 pm. She showed up at 4 and we weren’t seen until 445. They’re fast to take your money so you can’t leave. Wasn’t please with the piercing job amd had to redo it. Don’t do it. Go someplace else. Four hours of waisted time and money.

Elsa was super sweet and did an amazing job on my tattoo!! Would totally recommend for fine line/detailed tattoos!

First off I dont want this to be a bashing post by no means, but I will be explaining my experience. Monday I had an appointment with another tattoo shop that was cancelled last minute, since I live out of Colorado Springs I was super disappointed but I understood. A friend of mine who goes to Skin Evolution had great things to say and told me to go check them out, so I called and was told that they could probably fit me in. I was super thankful! My tattoo has been in the making for two years, it is a meaningful one for a close friend who passed away, so it was emotional to begin with. I walked in the shop and was greeted by Brian and almost instantly got the vibe that he was kind of irritated. I didnt want to push it, I just figured he was having a long day and I understand that taking a last minute walk in wasnt ideal. I told him what I wanted and I needed to email him a picture of a signature I wanted incorporated so he could trace it. Now let me say I may not be very good at explaining myself and my vision so I was very apologetic when I felt that I was irritating him (which seemed to be a lot), also Im not very artistic so I assumed that the artist would help me with font ideas and possibly placement. When I would ask him for his opinion he would respond with nothing helpful and be kind of snarky. I thought a few times I should just leave but I decided to stay because i felt that maybe I was just being difficult. when we found a font and size that seemed OK with me, he applied the stencil. I didnt really like that placement so I asked for it to be lower than the collar bone and he rolled his eyes and said cmon girl its a $60 tattoo!, at that point I finally felt kind of fed up. I told him that Im living with this for the rest of my life and I would make his tip well worth it if he worked with me. Although it may have just been a $60 tattoo, it was something that meant a lot to me, when i got back to my car I cried because I felt I was robbed of the positive experience that I had hoped for. I waited a day to write a review because i didnt want to be over critical and I wanted to really think about my experience. Im giving two stars because although the overall experience was extremely disappointing, the actual tattoo process was fairly painless and quick. Ive decided that I wont be returning to this shop in the future and I hope that other people wont have the experience I did.

I got tattooed by a guest artist in this shop but I was there three days in a row and everyone in there was real professional and the art that was produced was amazing the shop is clean and everyone was friendly and kind I would go here again for sure

I was given a $100 gift certificate. When I asked about a tattoo the woman artist bitched about how they were there to make real money and she refused to accept the certificates at face value. She was the rudest most arragant person I have ever seen. I cant believe that the shop would even allow her to speak to new customers. I have several tattoos, My 1st one was done almost 30 years ago I have been to several shops. I have never seen a shop allow an artist to act like this. I found another shop. They have much better manners and prices and have yet to let me down. I will not return and I will tell everyone the same thing STAY AWAY .. keep your bottle cap size $100 tattoo

Open late, friendly staff. Got exactly what we wanted. In and out quickly. Don’t over look this shop when there’s so much competition downtown springs.

Got a sternum piece done today. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and nice. Doug ended up doing the piece and I’m absolutely in love with it. Going here again for my next tattoo.

Go here and ask for Tommy. Honestly if you want the most chill tattoo artist ever to give you an amazing custom design or even standard tattoo, go here. The atmosphere is laid back and natural. I dont think Id ever switch tattoo artists.

This place had me thinking i was going to get a good tattoo.. So i paid for a tapout tattoo . the artist tapped out after 4 hours. My forarme and hand was already 50 percent done. I got pics before and after. Basicilly got two big flowers on each side of my forearm and he shaded only 2 flowers.. Left the other side just out lined.. And some of the out wasnt even done.. Ive gotten way more done for 150 bucks. He kept taken breaks. Then his friend showed up so we just went for 30 more min then he tapped out. I wasnt even close to being to done.. Like i said i got pics .. It was very dissapointing.. I cant even look at it with out getting upset.. You can tell dude felt bad. He told me to come in after it healed amd throw him a 100 to 200 more dollars and he would make it up to me lol. So i got one side of my forarme done like i said eas prevously already 50 to 75 percent done and the other side just got outline of flowers woth some of the outline not even finished .. Very upsetting because it was 500 bucks. Even threw a tip before we started.. And it was for my daughter. Sucks but i defintly learned my lesson. Like i said i got way more work done at a shop for 150 bucks.. But i got pics if anyone would like to see.. He talked a good game. I was thinking i was gonna get a decent tatt but i got a half done tatt .. That wasnt even alot of work. Im very upset with it...

Came in very happy and appreciative with my gift certificate, was proceeded by very poor customer service from Brian.(extremely rude)Artwork was good no issues, thats why 2 stars.. I too am an artist and understand what it means to struggle, however I do not low ball clients or treat them as an inconvenience! Also one of the dirtiest shops Ive seen.My advice is to not use those radio gift certificates and head over to pens and needles!!! Oh and to your response owner I did tell him upfront about coupon!!!!! And twice to be exact!!!! He then proceeded after 2nd time I told him aka he finally heard me... To make the design smaller then the original design he first quoted....... Sooooooo whats your issue owner? Also this is a very rude response from an owner now u see why costumer service was so bad

I’ve gone to this shop on multiple occasions for tattoos and piercings by Elsa! The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming! I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a good experience for tattoos or piercing!

Came in talked to Devin told him what I wanted he drew it up the next day. I would say it was better than expected and I had HIGH expectations will post when it is done ! Never been so ready to get ink finished to c what he does with it next . By far softest handed arttest Ive ever been to.

Id heard this was a well regarded shop before going in and I wasnt disappointed. Had a consult with Brian and he really got it. My piece is black/gray with shading done so well it has a 3 D effect. Ill be going back to get a half sleeve done.

SPARE YOUR SELF. I received a $100 gift card and was unable to use it, spoke with two gentlemen whos names I did not get, unfortunately. One of them was extremely short and rude saying that I had to make an appointment for that night or the day after FOR A TATTOO, because my money would be no good after that. I would ABSOLUTELY check ANY OTHER PLACE in Colorado before you give these people your money. Horrible. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT RETURN.

Walked in late at night, spur of the moment, with a tattoo in mind ive been wanting for years..Brian made me me up scetch real quick and within the hour bam i got my ink. very efficent and customer friends. Highly recommend

Artist was good and friendly and professional we won a gift certificate but turned out to be useless I didnt feel it would have been that expensive normally otherwise there first question from the receptionist wouldnt have been do you have a gift certificate then maybe I could believe it was a fair price.

Worst tattoo I have on my body out of 13... 4 of which were unprofessionial... And 1 of the unprofessionals was done while intoxicated by a coked up Mexican fresh out of prison. So thats really saying something. You guys should be embarrassed.

Terrible service! They don’t value their client’s time. I had an appointment scheduled for a piercing, yet they took two walk-ins right before me! Save your time and money and go somewhere else!

My old tattooer Devin used to tattoo here and when he left they wouldn’t tell me where he went which is saddening. If you are looking to get tatted by him you can find him at legion tattoo or selfmade tattoo.

Worst establishment I have ever encountered in life. Experienced horrible service and when I called the owner to voice it, I was verbally assaulted. This is an incompetent business headed by an incompetent business owner. Dont waste your time or money!

So far came in, everyone just stares very uncomfortable, talked to someone saying someone from the back would come talk to us, we were waiting almost half hour didnt talk to any. Very annoying, I wouldnt come back to this shop.

Receptionist was rude and kept talk over the Artist other Artist kept giving my dirty looks the whole time I was in the shop and an over all not good time obviously some management need to get a grip and figure out if these are the people they really want in there shop
