(Cameron the jujitsu Artist )crazy nut job of a guy is on point!!! Extremely professional, laser focused, even though he loves conversation. Upfront with his honest opinions, thinks of his customers before himself.(Even put a stopwatch on his time, if there’s any breaks to be had , he stops your pay time which I Thought was a real cool, honest Approach that I’ve never seen before) Very confident in his work, and takes care of explaining the proper ways of mending and healing, I believe he said, lifetime touchups, if need be as well.. whole shop feels like a little historical old school tattoo parlor… everyone in there feels like family.. GOOD VIBES

So far, Ive had two tattoos done here. My first(tribal owl) completed by Spyder, the owner and my second one(semicolon for suicide awareness) by Kylee, one of the lady employees. They are both amazing and I like talking to Bearded Matt. Hes very outgoing and just an all-around good guy. Everyone working there is awesome. Its a very welcoming environment with happy employees. I love it. The tattooing they do is amazing.

I had an idea in my head that I spoke with several artists on the easy coast about that were unable to see my vision of what I wanted to place on my body to represent a significant event in my life. I was encouragedto go see Toto at Animated Canvas by some good friends. Our first meeting was kinda the same as the others but we did set up a consultation where he was able to grasp my vision and we decided to move forward. The day of my appointment I was presented with an amazing piece of custom art that exceeded what I expected and really blew me away! The tattoo went smoothly and I can confidently say this is the best tattoo experience I’ve had EVER. I will continue to work with Toto in the future and can’t recommend him highly enough with just 5 stars! Amazing work and an amazing experience. Thank you Toto and Animated Canvas. Being a business owner myself it’s hard to blow me away but my experience here did just that!

Today I got my fourth tattoo by Kodi Boston, an artist here who does a phenomenal job every time. The energy in the shop is always great, every artist is very social and always positive. The receptionist, with gorgeous blue hair, even offered to put money in my parking meter so I avoided a ticket while getting tattooed. The day Kodi stops tattooing is the day that I stop getting tattoos. I will never not give animated canvas my business!

Toto was fantastic!!! It wa my first tattoo to honor a family member that passed away. He was professional, empathetic, and easy to talk to. My tattoo was perfect! I highly recommend Toto as a talented artist!

I came in and had an appointment with Cameron. I was scheduled to have a my right side tattoo. I was nervous because I know getting a rib tattoo is painful. While getting the tattoo Cameron talked to me and told me jokes to help not think about the pain. It didn’t take long to for him to complete the tattoo. I’ll definitely be back. Thank Cameron! I am only giving this place one star because the man Chris that was supposed to be doing my tattoo I for get his name he had a goatee kind of long hair white guy cool and as nice as he can be .. other than that .. this whole tattoo shop animated canvas custom tattoo and everyone else in it gets a negative below zero star rating . I was not there very long to get names but the one chick with buzz cutt odd color short short boy cutt hair style has a nose ring skinny white girl that works there answer phones and walks around the place was beyond unpleasant to be around . She stared at me with hate it felt like . I never got stared at like that by someone I don’t even know before specially at a place of business I was nothing but kind to her .she was so rude ,un happy, never smiled ,she stands over you for so very long even goin over private details with the artist the conversation was between him and i , who wants a awkward very rude very unpleasant vibe very uncomfortable. Her presence was being so close as if she’s been wanting to say something the entire time, but waited until literally the last moment after that, all of the conversations and setting up with the artist to finally have something to say after making, you feel so uncomfortable that it’s sickening makes you wanna vomit how uncomfortable and rude she makes you feel there. I almost wanted to walk out as soon as I sat down I did not like the atmosphere in this place it’s everyone except for maybe two of the artist there or kind and normal that woman needs to find a new job and she needs to leave that place if she’s unhappy with her job, she sure seems that way she does not need to be given off her evil presence ruining a good time for other people , definitely a good way to chase away customers. She got an attitude with me because I was trying to figure out a solution over a copy of my id im 32 yrs old at that …making up escuses lame cause she was too lazy and lack to want to work .that she could’ve clearly took a copy of front and back off of my phone that I had same thing as if it was in her hands, front and back of my ID I offered her many ways to take a copy of it and that’s all she needed was a copy and she snapped at me rude as I remain nice and bubbly saying that she needs it in her hands to make a copy does that make any sense to me in her own words , after all the rudeness, she wanted to have a little razzle-dazzle to be even more nasty unpleasant. It was uncalled for and it was stupid and rude, lazy and lack. She just couldn’t wait to get out to have her next cigarette break because that’s all they care about is smoking cigarettes out there and taking breaks they don’t care about taking their time in tattooing they don’t care they don’t have no happiness about them when a person gets a tattoo they want to enjoy themselves. That’s an exciting day for them and people at this place sure can make your supposed to be great day into a beyond bad day bad time bad experience you’ll be excited getting there whenever you’re there. Your bad day starts you get to leave with a tattoo that you wanted but it was a bad day with that tattoo going here … for many many many other different reasons and for these alone right here I recommend anyone literally anyone to go and get a tattoo with your great day and continue to have a great day. Somewhere else do not go to this place by far the worst don’t let them ruin your day, it’s supposed to be an exciting fun day. Don’t go to this place if you want your day to end good that woman should be fired immediately this place is going to go down in the dirt because of her and whoever else works there that is like her which is damn near the whole building except for two people I seen in there I would say three but one of them was a person getting a tattoo she didn’t really look too excited either wich tells me also they suck at tattoos too save yourself the pain and agony these people are careless

Shane did a killer piece for me at a very reasonable price. The guys and gals in the shop were all friendly and welcoming. I couldnt imagine Columbia has a better tattoo shop. Also the location is a pretty awesome area to grab a bite,or to get a drink afterwards. Very Happy!

I went to Animated Canvas to get my first tattoo ever. Going in I was a little nervous and uncertain exactly how I wanted it to look, but Mike was amazing and worked with me. He was patient and understanding and I greatly appreciate it. Everything was extremely clean and sterile as well. My mom went with me and said she was amazed at how much caution they took and how none of the places where she got her other two tattoos were that way. I started here going to Shane Anderson who has done amazing work on me and is currently still at it! During this time I got to see Adams work too and had several tattoos done on me by him - Ive won awards at tattoo conventions for both of their work - thats how good this group is. These artists share canvas well and will make sure you are happy! I was recently under a huge time crunch and Adam Smith came through with the perfect design and it looks great on me :) With every tattoo he has done, he has always been accommodating to my insane schedule, very professional, always on time and willing to go the extra mile - not to mention very fair in his prices. His multiple pieces have really rounded out the theme I wanted without it being obvious to anyone else what I was going for and that is just what I wanted. The best way I can thank him for all his help these last few weeks is by letting everyone know what a great job he did and how professional he is and what an amazing artist he is. You cant go wrong with Animated Canvas - the artists are outstanding, prices are great, and there is a reason they are voted the best every year - they are the best! My first tattoo was awesome! Got my favorite scripture on my forearm. Toto was the bomb! Eased my nerve and gave me an awesome first tat. Whole staff was nice and professional. Everything was clean, and price was really reasonable. Will be back!!

Have Tattoos from Toto, Spyder, and Shane and love all of them. Professionalism throughout the studio. Pricing is based on the hourly rate but they do not count breaks in the total time. I have only had the pleasure of meeting Bearded Matt and Toto, but they both are fantastic! My friend and I recently got tattooed by Toto, and he created a gorgeous peice for my friend, and he also got every detail right on my design. Staff is super friendly!

I went into Animated Canvas for a walk-in one day thinking Id have to pay for an over priced tattoo and wait forever, but to my suprise I was not only treated amazingly by the staff, but was in and out of there in 20 minutes. Everyone in the shop was so supportive and hillarious. My tattoo artist was sweet little Teri and she was a BOSS. She knew that it was my first tattoo and let my best friend stand right with me the whole time. We had so much fun we ended up going back the same day for more!

After doing some research online, I recently visited Animated Canvas to have some work done. I was met by a woman who told me someone would be right with me. The facility was very clean, neat, and calming. There were people getting work done and others waiting. I was greeted by Cody after a short wait. I explained to him what I wanted done and he took me through a short artist selection process. I looked through portfolios of the 2 artists that were available to do the work I wanted in short suspense. I ultimately went with Bearded Matt.I am big on expectation management. He gave me all I needed to know and what to expect. He, also, offered some input and we refined the design of the tattoo.I booked the appointment and returned that weekend to get the work done. Beared Matt was awesome! This wasnt my first rodeo so, based on the location of the tattoo, I assumed it wasnt going to be the most pleasant feeling in the world. It wasnt bad though. The conversation made the time pass and it was done before I knew it.The tatoo came out better than I imagined. I was/ am extremely satisfied. I was given good information on aftercare and, even though I will be relocated to Texas, it was explained to me that after about 4 weeks I can go back for an evaluation and touch up, if needed.I cannot express how glad I am that I decided on this shop.Animated Canvas is the standard.I pray that I find a shop as good as Animated Canvas in Texas.

Awesome place, this was my first tattoo and was a little nervous. I called first to see if an appointment was needed and bearded Matt told me they accepted walk ins. When I arrived I was immediately created by bearded Matt he talk to me and answered all the questions I had. He was pateint with me even though i had a lot of questions being my first tattoo. After he drew up what I wanted he got set up while we talked and explained everything that he was gonna do. Once again very impressed he even started out with a quick touch of the needle to make sure I was good. It didnt hurt a bit and it turned out better than I imagined it in my mind. 1000 percent exceeded what I expected.Thanks

I went to animated canvas Sept. 4th to get a tattoo finished that had been begun elsewhere. Kylie was my artist and my experience with her was wonderful. She was professional, but kept the time fun! I was sat for 3 1/2 hours (ish) but she kept it interesting and even dealt with it when I was being a bit of a baby at the end! I highly recommend here. Its clean, professional, and the artists are enthusiastic about their work! 5/5 will go again!

All of the artists are so sweet and easy to talk to. They really ease your fears if its your first tattoo or if you have a lot. They do quality work for a good price and you can come back to get it fixed for free.

Over the last 29 years, I have lived all over the globe, and have had several different tattoo artists, but Spyder is, by far, the most talented and most ethical tattoo artist Ive dealt with. The first tattoo he did for me was nine years ago, and it looks as beautiful and vivid as the day it was first done. His attention to detail is exacting, and his touch is so light that even during our 4 1/2 hour marathon session today, I only said, Ouch, that was a slightly unpleasant, maybe three or four times.I currently live in the Washington, DC area, and although I once went to a DC area artist, Ill just be making the trip south to have Spyder tattoo me from this point forward. Hes definitely worth the trip.The attached photo is todays tattoo. I am beyond thrilled with it.Edit: Second attached photo is tattoo from December of 2019.

Animated Canvas is the only place I will go. While I think all of the artists are incredible and provide excellent service, Shane Anderson has done all of my work. He has over 30 years experience and tons of awards. I have never regretted using Shane, and recommend him and the rest of the staff to everyone!

The unfortunate part of my rating is that it is based on interaction with the staff. I researched custom artists in the area as I recently transferred for my job. Sadly enough, my work has impacted my ability to keep my appointment with Shane. After several rescheduling attempts do to work conflicts, I have not been able to receive any work from the shop. Hopefully sometime in the near future my work load will ease up and be able to schedule something that will allow some chair time.My apologies to Shane for my continuous scheduling conflicts.

Shane is the BEST! I did a lot of research before randomly picking someone, and when I saw shanes work I knew I had to have an appt with him, and I did, and he fixed up a skull someone else had done, and now its way better, then he also is working on a sleeve, that I am sure is not done, but so far looks amazing, EVERYWHERE I GO I get compliments on my arm, people even grab at me, and want to stare at it! I go to florida a few times a year and people always comment like this I know you didnt get that work done around here nope - I got it back home with Shane @ animated canvas =)You cannot go wrong, shane is a true artist, not only a tattoo artist but a true artist, his line work is great, his color is awesome, his design is fabulous, seriously, he is very professional, his work is clean, his work area is clean, he is just top notch.Highly recommended!

What I asked for vs what I got. I tried to tell the guy they did not look the same at all and he fallowed it up by saying “I traced it exactly, it’s the same image it will look the same once it’s on skin not paper” my tattoo isn’t bad just not what I asked for. Doesn’t look like the flower I wanted. I even gave it a long stretch of time to grow on me and it hasnt. I posted the the pictures of what I asked for and what I got for reference.

Put in a deposit to have work done amd the girl cried and got ignorant when i had to rescheadule my first appointment for my child being sick. Major turn off so i let have the deposit and found a more professional tattoo artist.

Adam did a great job on my tattoo. He was super patient with me when I was picking out fonts and the shop is very clean. I will be going back there for my next tattoo.
