The Lost Sheep Tattoo

After 13 years since my 1st tattoo, I trusted Lost Sheep with #2. I worked a lot with Rocky to get me scheduled and thinking through designs. He was incredibly patient, kind and accommodating. He set me and my wife up with John to do our work.Communication with John was great. He was eager to get to work on my idea. I sent him a lot of images and texts to try and explain what I knew I wanted but couldnt quite wrap my brain around. John sketched it up the day of and took great care in doing so. I gave him freedom to creatively interpret my idea as an artist and he came up with something perfect. He was happy to make some edits to the sketch before starting and even added in some elements to represent my wife and kids.The actual tattoo process (7 hour session) was excellent. The shop was clean, friendly and appealing. They even offered snacks and drinks since I was in for the long haul. John was friendly and easy to talk to. I never felt rushed or pressured. John delivered super clean, thin lines and superb shading with no errors. He took great care in cleaning up the finished product, wrapping it and talking me through care and next steps.The end result was everything I ever hoped for: Philbo Baggins Hobbit Hole for me, a Hobbit at heart, who really just wants to stay home with the people I love enjoying good food and drink, all the while up for a little adventure. Johns interpretation was incredible and the details were perfect. He designed the tattoo where the door was cracked open and you could see elements inside of the home which he then shaded over to add great depth. He truly went above and beyond and I will be back. Genuinely amazing work. 10/10 would DEF recommend John and co. at Lost Sheep!

I had the absolute best experience at the Lost Sheep tattoo! I’ made the move to NC about 2 years ago and have been searching for an artist and FINALLY I found one. The shop is very well maintained and super clean! When I first walked in I was greeted by Rocky who was actually on his way out of the shop (I believe it was his day off and he had just stopped in) Rocky was very professional and still took a minute to explain a few details and made sure I was set up with some info. I went in for a cover up with Rico who was excellent! Went above and beyond to deliver what I wanted. He is very attentive to detail, patient and loves what he does- which is always a plus! The Lost Sheep Tattoo in Concord, NC is fantastic! The shop itself is bright, tidy and clean and the professionalism of the staff is outstanding. The level of creativity, artistry and quality of each artist is amazing. John Esparza nailed my idea and created a beautiful design that makes me smile every day. From setting up appointment to leaving appointment was top notch. John went above and beyond. I got a new tattoo. He went through hundreds of designs for me to pick the exact one I wanted. Then he touched up two tattoos. Not only touched them up but totally redid them because he didn’t like the “flow” of them. They are more colorful and it changed the whole look. Could not be happier. And to top it all I got there at 6pm and we didn’t finish up until 10:30pm and he never missed a beat. I offered to come back for last one but he plowed right thru and finished up. Everyone that was working that evening was very nice and made the whole experience enjoyable and pleasant. Will definitely go back for all of my tattoo desires. Thanks, John!

This is a wonderful tattoo studio. It is very clean and welcoming. Not intimidating at all. Rocky is a great artist. I let him know what I was thinking for a tattoo and we collaborated on something very meaningful and he made it come to life. It is beautiful!! This is by far the best tattoo experience I have ever had. After 2 years looking a artist I can trust in Charlotte, I found this shop. It is clean veteran run, staff are friendly and leave nothing to question prior to booking.Tara is now my go to artist! I have several large tattoos and the chest piece she did for me is the cleanest and most detailed work I have ever had done. After 6 hours of tattooing I had no bruising and minimal soreness. From the moment I walked into the shop yesterday morning, I was made to feel like one of the family. Huge shout out to John for being willing to stay with me until 10pm to ensure my tattoo was completed to my satisfaction. Yes, 12 1/2 hours from start to finish. Just came here to buy some piercing jewelry, they’re super sweet and helpful. The place is very modern and clean. The atmosphere is great and welcoming. They had my size when most places didn’t and have internal threaded jewelry which is better than external threaded. Try to bring cash as there is a processing fee on card. Definitely will come back for anything and will recommend!

Just retired, and always wanted a tattoo, but being in the corporate world that was just not possible. Met John Esparza at Lost Sheep, and he sat with me and helped me design my first tattoo. I couldnt be happier about the way It came out. There is not a day that goes by that folks are stopping me and asking, who did my tattoo? The detail on my Sphnix Head and Greek lettering is phenomenal!! Attended my 75th Chapter Anniversary a couple of weeks ago, and I felt as if I was the focal point of the weekend with all of the attention on my new Tattoo by John. Rocky was a great Tattoo artist drew up the design (custom tattoo) and tattooed, my left forearm in approximately five hours. Very nice and well sanitized tattoo shop. He is very respectful and a well experienced artist. Recommend anyone to him and his crew of Artists. They’re the best around, will definitely be going to see him again.

Me and my dad each got matching tattoos of our recently passed dog’s paw print from Tara, and we both are absolutely thrilled with the finished products. Tara was absolutely amazing, and I will be back there in the near future, as well as refer anyone looking to get work done to her!

Matt was absolutely phenomenal. I did a walk in service for getting my other nostril pierced to match an existing piercing on the other one. The shop was incredibly clean and everyone was very professional, they had a large selection of jewlery for me to choose from, and I was serviced quickly. Matt answered any questions I had about the piercing and jewlery choices, immediately took my choice to be sanitizer, and took extra care to mark the new piercing to ensure it was perfectly even with my existing one. Best tattoo place ever all three of my friends and i got piercing which were perfect and we were all satisfied. Me and another friend went back a week later And I got done a cross that was messed up from a DIFFERENT tattoo artist and flowers and a little bow and Stacy did phenomenal job adding flowers as well as fixing the cross and will definitely go back to her. We got stood up at another local piercing place and were able to do a walk in to get my daughter’s navel piercing. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and the guy who pierced my daughter was super nice and informative!

Went with my friend while she got a tattoo for morale support, and ended up getting a spur of the moment tattoo myself. Rico was so awesome, he took his time drawing up my tattoo and sharing ideas with me, I was a last minute addition to his day and I really appreciated that he didn’t make me feel rushed in the slightest, and his main priority was making sure I was satisfied. He was also super down to earth and fun to talk to, I felt really comfortable in his chair. The shop was really clean and well kept, and everyone working there was friendly and kind. Tara is awesome! I am so incredibly happy with service and tattoo I got from Tara that I will definitely be going back to her for my sleeve. This is the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. EVERY artist in the building was kind and talkative, professionals who wanted to get their job done but didnt mind chatting with me along the way. John did my tattoo. He was incredibly patient with my pain levels, sat through my squirming and yowling, and helped get me some water, sugar, and ice when I got light headed. The entire place was so friendly. The atmosphere is amazing. I couldnt ask for better!

Amari was AMAZING!!!!! Very sweet, very gentle and SO patient. I have several piercing so I’m very knowledgeable as far as the whole piercing experience and was very excited to get my rook done. Rocky is AMAZING! After consulting with multiple tattoo artist for a coverup design, and being told over and over that it wasn’t possible, Rocky made it work! He worked with me to figure out a design that would compliment the area and cover the existing tattoo. His line work and color saturation are amazing. I’m in love with my new tattoo! I went in today for a piercing that I have been wanting for a while. Upon entering, the lady at the counter greeted me and my daughter and asked what I was interested in. I told her that I wanted a piercing but I couldnt decide on the placement. She told me that a daith would be cute on me, so I asked my daughter. I ended up deciding on a helix piercing per my daughters request. The jewelry they had available was beautiful. I had originally picked a butterfly, but, the piercer Amari said that the butterfly was bigger than I thought and it would be uncomfortable. I had one person in front of me. Amari kept me informed while I was waiting, once the people in front of me were done, Amari came out and said she was sanitizing everything and she would be back. She came back and took me to the piercing room, asked me if I had a certain spot I wanted done or if I just wanted what looked best. I said whatever looks best, so, she cleaned my ear then she drew not one, but 3 dots for me to decide. She then asked if I wanted her to count or just jab. I said just jab, she jabbed and asked if I was OK to which I responded yes. This parlor is veteran owned and I will absolutely be back!

We went to The Lost Sheep to have my five year old daughter’s ears pierced. We were so impressed with the staff. They were all so good with my daughter and made her feel very comfortable from the beginning. Matt explained everything to her and did such a great job, she didn’t even flinch! We purchased the piercing aftercare spray from there also and have been very happy with the recommendation. My daughter has not had any issues with her piercings since day one. I credit that to the professional who pierced her and the solution we have been using to keep them clean. Highly recommend The Lost Sheep!!

We went to The Lost Sheep Tattoo to have my daughter’s (she is 6) ears pierced for the very first time. I also got another ear piercing as well. We could not have had a better experience. The piercer was so kind & patient with our sweet girl who was very, very brave & adamant that she did want her ears done, even though it did in fact hurt a bit more than she expected. Amari was very calming to be around & helped my daughter relax & didn’t make her feel rushed at all & didn’t make her feel any type of way about the tears that were shed. Everything was exceptionally clean & organized in the shop & piercing room. Everyone working was a pleasure to deal with. When we were done & walked out everyone in the shop proceeded to give her high fives, congratulations, fist bumps, tell her happy birthday & also a few claps. That was EPIC for a 6 year old who just did a super brave thing. She even got a certificate for getting them done. The Lost Sheep definitely is family friendly & I 100/10 recommend you come here for any of your piercing needs. My husband & I will be coming back for any future tattoos or piercings. ♥️

I’ve NEVER been in another tattoo shop that compares to The Lost Sheep. Cleanliness, tidiness, welcoming environment, skill, talent and integrity. All of the above. Rocky’s character is evident in all aspects of his business. He cares about the space you’re walking in to, how you’re treated by staff and the finished product of your artwork. He makes sure he and his artists have opportunities to attend weekend workshops to improve their skill and gain experience in their knowledge of the art. Everywhere I go, strangers stop me to ask where I get my ink done. Some stop dead in their tracks when they see the sleeve work. I have proudly told them The Lost Sheep Tattoo. I just hope I’m not making it harder for myself to get in, next time I’ve got some work I want done!!

Took my 16 year old son there to get his ears pierced. They were fast, efficient, clean, and very friendly. My son experienced no pain and is healing very well. Their piercer was awesome to talk to and was very patient while mom and dad made sure the hole marks were symmetrical, which he nailed the first attempt. Im sure we will be back as my son is already talking about his next piercing. Keep up the great work!!

Rocky did an amazing job on a very meaningful tattoo! I had an idea of what I wanted and after collaborating with Rocky he was able to make it happen! Ive been going to Rocky for almost 4 years and was so excited to follow him when he opened his own shop. Hes a wonderful person who genuinely cares about his clients and the community and hes an amazing tattoo artist. Ive had approximately 10 sessions with Rocky and plan on getting at least a few more tattoos from him. I highly recommend this shop for all your tattoos and piercings.

I could talk about the tattoo but the quality speaks for itself (10 stars if I could). The big thing that makes them so great is how great the artists are. This was my first time coming. Everyone there was extremely nice and helpful. My piercer Matt was great! I got my cartilage pierced, I was nervous to get it done but he talked me through the process and it was over before I even realized. I definitely recommend coming here! They also made sure I had a snack and drink before my service. If you’re in the area or even have to make a trip they are definitely worth the drive.

Amari pierced our 6 month olds ears and did a fantastic job! It’s been a few weeks now and they never got red, inflamed or anything. We did but the after care they sell as well. Amari was super patient and kind but also fast and efficient! Would definitely do it all over again!

I personally go to Rocky for my tattoos in which he exceeds my expectations every time but every artist is nice with the ink and the receptionist is super nice too. Have visited them twice and had amazing experiences both times. First time I got piercings done with Stephanie and she was so sweet and made the experience very relaxed and comforting. She took each step at a time with me and was very welcoming. My second visit I got two more piercings done by Aleta supervised by Ryan. Aleta was really nice and Ryan made the experience all the better. Ryan was extremely attentive, super sweet, made sure I was ok along the way and made the experience comforting as well. Ryan is very informative and you can tell she truly knows what she is doing. Hope to be able to get a tattoo done by Rocky one day. 100000/10 recommend the lost sheep tattoo.

Rocky is the best tattoo artist I have ever met. He has AWESOME work, is extremely creative and unique with his work and on top of all that he is genuinely one of the nicest people I know. I have gotten a whole rib and sternum piece from him and we are working on my leg sleeve now. I wont ever go to any other artist. All the time have people stop me to ask me about my work because it is so detailed and great. It stands out to everyone. I live in California and fly out to NC about once a year to get tattooed by Rocky. Between my partner and I, we’ve seen three tattoo artists and two piercers at The Lost Sheep, and have more scheduled 😉. Each of the artists are incredibly talented, and the entire team does a great job working together and keeping all aspects of the shop safe, clean and comfortable. It’s a drive from us, but I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

Been here many times to see Rocky for tattoos which turned out absolutely fabulous! Took my 10 month old today to get her ears pierced by Amari who was so patient and sweet! This place is the best! Super clean, employee’s are very professional and friendly and the service is great everytime!

Ive gotten several piercings at this establishment, My ear, Both sides of my nose, and septum done. I’ve have never felt so comfortable and happy in an uncomfortable situation. This shop is clean, organized, decorated beautifully and most importantly has wonderful employees (who are also extremely good at their jobs). I’ve not always had a good history with my piercings but when i got pierced there every single time it came out perfect, with very little pain, and a lot of moral support. All my piercings ended up looking absolutely beautiful. I’ve never met such kind, professional, and talented people in my life. I would ALWAYS recommend this place to anybody from a simple ear piercing to a tattoo the work is always beautiful. 10/10!!

This is the most beautiful tattoo shop I’ve ever been into! Most are stereotypically dark and grungy and this place is so very bright and airy! Rocky and his wife are genuinely the sweetest people and very welcoming! We went there to get my daughter an industrial piercing and the piercer, Stephanie was very knowledgeable, patient and gave us this feeling of trust. Like they weren’t just trying to sell a service but it was just that they really cared about what would be best! So with that said, my daughter got a helix piercing, which for her age, they seemed more appropriate for the care. I appreciated that sooo much! I will definitely be going back for piercings and tattoos! Their work is beautiful and the aura of the place is very positive!

I was taken care of by John and they way we had talked about getting my first huge piece and the final product was just amazing. Amazing staff! I had issues with another business saying a Navel piercing would be too crooked on my body yet once I came in, they accommodated the piercing to my body. They also made sure I was comfortable and felt good before I got my piercing done. They also answered all my questions with the best explanations and with ease. Not only that, they helped me convince my mom to get a super cute nose piercing. All staff members were helpful and kind! Love this shop. I found it because I heard a quote that I really wanted tattooed on my body, and that day. I got lucky to have Rocky do it(due to a cancelation), super fast, light touch. I do believe its his shop, hes a marine, talented, family-oriented, and an all-around good guy. Im not gonna knock him for being a Packers fan, Im used to them hurting me, ha! Anyway, a friend of mine got a job there (Jessica) both have inked me more than once and I am impressed, thoroughly. Have about 10+ tattoos from a lot of different parlors and always happy when I leave the Lost Sheep. I found a place that I am always confident getting work done at. The parlor itself is open, clean, friendly, chill, and there is something about floor-to-ceiling windows that help relax you as you are getting tattooed. Both times I have worked with the artists they are really intent on supplying their client with the best experience, be it making them comfortable, offering a beverage, open to their music preference, or, most importantly, getting what they expect from the service. I give this place a strong 5+.

Im terrible and cant remember the guys name! But he was super awesome when I got my piercing done! He was super comforting and made sure that I was great! Super informative as well. I also ended up having to go back due to my body have an allergic reaction to the metal and had Abbey they main piercer there look at it and switch out my piercings. She was super helpful and reassuring and awesome! The people there are all around awesome and super amazing!!

My first time being here and the place was so clean and bright! My only complaint was the front desk girl on a personal phone call. She seemed a bit agitated and annoyed. I felt as though I was interrupting her as she offhandedly got me situated. It was a little unwelcoming. 4/5 wouldve given 5 stars, but she killed the vibe a bit. Other than that, the rest of the staff did an amazing job.

We took our 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced and they were so kind to her. We walked right in with no appointment. Very child friendly tattoo shop! I love the light, and comfortable feel you get here. No loud music, it reminds me of a salon. The staff in person and when one was on the phone were very nice and easy to speak with! I will be back for any future needs. We will be going once they have the paint classes for children again. I may even do the adult wine and paint class.

Went here for a memorial tattoo for my son who passed away. The staff is amazing. John did a wonderful job. The whole place is awesome, family friendly and upbeat! Definitely recommend them for your tattoo or piercing needs!

I’m sure other services at this place are wonderful as everyone says, and the employees are extremely kind, but do not go here for septum piercings. A septum piercing is supposed to be done in the fleshy part of your nose toward the very tip, but the worker did mine through my nose cartilage, essentially nearing the middle of my nose. This caused a great deal of issues and some lasting scar tissue that might not ever go away. I got mine done here 2 years ago, but looking at their Instagram, the placement for their septum piercings is still absolutely terrible. The quality of their jewlery could also definitely use improvement. Try an APP certified piercer instead :)

I went in for a cover up on my lower back and had a good idea of exactly what I wanted. Rocky far surpassed anything that I could have imagined that it would actually turn out to be. I had an appointment with Rocky today. He was attentive to the idea I had and the sentiment behind it. Rocky walked me through the safety measures and each step he’d take to completion. We had a conch piercing today and it was a great experience. The lady that helped us was so professional and nice! She explained everything to us and it wasn’t very painful.Everyone that we spoke to was so friendly. I’d highly recommend for piercing.
