I went to In The Skin to get a tattoo done on my ribs and the whole process was fantastic. Mike is an incredibly sweet guy who made me feel very comfortable during the entire tattooing process. Very reliable shop, super clean and fantastic service. Definitely going back to get more Tattoos!!The tattoo turned out absolutely fantastic!!!

Mike has done phenomenal work and shows professionalism in everyone he speaks to. His shop in NC is one of a kind, and is definitely worth the drive. we’re from Maryland and would recommend him to anyone interested in traditional type work/ literally anything.

Def recommend got my 1st Tatoo here by Mike he was the best and just recently went back and got my 2nd and 3rd Tatoo in 1 session my Will if you want a good quality realistic Tatoo this is the place to go ask for will

I LOVE this shop. Its clean and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We went in for mom/daughter tattoos with Mike, and what we expected was surpassed. I could not be more pleased! Mike was patient and careful about placement and made sure we were happy with it, constantly checked in we were doing ok, and his experience shined through with some creative shading and little extras that resulted in beautiful tattoos. Ill definitely be going back to Mike for more work. Ive found my shop!

If you want a professionally done tattoo, then you owe it to yourself to come see Mike at in the skin. I’m in the process of sleeving up my arm, and his work has been consistent and perfect throughout. His establishment is clean and friendly, and it’s always a positive experience for me. Mike takes the time to go over your tattoo with you to make sure you are satisfied with it before placement. His communication is top notch, and he always makes sure I’m comfortable throughout the process. He has truly perfected his craft. Don’t go anywhere else but In The Skin.

Mike is hands down the best tattoo artist in the area. I have had 2 tattoos done by him. The owl is my favorite tattoo!!!!! I get a ton of compliments on this one. Cant wait for my next one . clean shop and all the artists are fun and personable

I arrived around 4pm i waited for a bit to get serve and i believe his name was wills i asked if they accept walk in cause i just wanted a small tattoo and after that i showed him this picture i wanted to get and he looks at me says “what the hell is that” and in my mind i’m like who is this dude talking to. i remain calm as i was just trying get that small tattoo and throughout my session he was making like inappropriate comments i was at the point where i was trying leave. i advise everyone if you want to be criticize of what tattoo you want and hear inappropriate comments this is the place to be at respectfully

Me and my friends wanted some small tattoos and decided to check this place out since we were not far from there, we all got tattooed by Mike and Will and they both did such an amazing job that we did not regret checking this place out, the shop environment is great and also it’s a very nice shop to say the least!I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone if you’re wanting a great experience and good quality work

Finally got our wedding band tattoos. (It only took 13 years!!) This was the smoothest tattoo Ive ever gotten! Great job, best price around, great personalities! I cant wait to go back for more tats.

Came in on a promise that I made..BEST DECISION to have my ink done by IN THE SKIN TATTOO..I did my research..as well as walked into other Tattoo places in my area..AGAIN..BEST DECISION..BEST CHOICE..I LOVE MY TAT..AND THE ARTIST GEORGE..Not only put me at EASE but did BEAUTIFUL work..I get complimented on my tat...and that it was a tribute to my Brother who passed away..well..it just gives me the feel good when I think about him and look at my Tat..Thanks George...ILL BE BACK!!!!

I would not recommend Joel Shaw. Joel was extremely inappropriate verbally and physically and left a horrible tattoo in my skin. Completely different than what I asked for. He made inappropriate remarks about my body the entire time, and made me very uncomfortable.The shop owners only gave a refund to me in return to me signing a document saying I would not sue them. I have now been having to pay out of my own pocket thousands of dollars to have this lasered off. Do not recommend.Since my encounter with Joel and meeting the shop owners, cameras have been installed to view individual artists while they work.

Absolutely love In the Skin! I got my first tattoo here and from then on I was hooked on the positive and friendly environment! Mike the shop owner is always so welcoming and helpful along with his other artists. If I had to recommend anyone to a friendly, clean, and positive environment it would be here. Everyone there has a different style but I promise, you would never be disappointed. To top it off I’m from Pennsylvania and I drive the 8 hours to In the Skin because of how talented they are! I would never want to be tattooed anywhere else (I have been and it wasn’t the same experience or talent you receive from Mike and his other artists.) The shop is well set up and is always clean which makes you feel comfortable and stress free. So just do yourself a favor and stop in a schedule with one of them! Try your best to stop into the shop over calling. The guys are busy tattooing their work on other clients. Most of the time it’s extremely hard for them to answer the phone. They’re not ignoring you they’re just giving their best attention to their clients in the chair. I recommend everyone that has ever asked where I got my work done to make the time to stop into In the Skin and set up an appointment with one of the guys there.

Clean shop and very pleasant atmosphere. Mike was so precise and professional with the artwork. We went for couples tattoos, and it was absolutely amazing!

I went today for the first time and got my belly button pierced, it was quick and almost completely painless. Not to mention the jewelry cost was INCLUDED in the total price. The process went smooth and the staff was very friendly. I definitely recommend for any piercing needs or tattoos! It’s a great little shop!

First tattoo at 63 yrs old. Was very important to me. Mike was excellent. I certainly recommend his work. Very pleased with entire experience.

Mike was WONDERFUL! I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he added his own little flair to it and it turned out AMAZING! It was a tribute to my dad who had passed away that July. So I got it for my birthday.

Mike, the owner, did my tattoo. He looked at my ideas and sketched a draft. We talked about size and location. He did an awesome job of keeping the jitters away while working! He whistled and hummed to the music playing in the background and was upbeat the entire time. The shop (including the bathroom) was very clean and well-kept. Very friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Mike did my daughters 1st tattoo today for her 18th birthday. He was very professional and did a wonderful job. He took the time to make sure it was exactly what she wanted and she loves it. We will be returning for our future tattoos. Highly recommend this place!

Checked out quite a few shops its been a long time between tattoos. I met Mike he was very Kewl and took time to go over my drawings. Small shop but with that comes a extremely clean and fresh set up. We got to it and my new tattoo came out Bad Ass!! It is Awesome and I highly recommend his work and the Vibe was Great. I get lots of compliments on his work. Im geart up for my next session.

Got a wicked Harry Potter tattoo by an amazing guy named Mike here. I showed him exactly what I wanted and some ideas and he couldnt have done it better. This guy is amazing with the tattoo machine and I will definitely be coming back to get more ink!! Highly recommend for a local place and will not disappoint!!!

I went yesterday to get my tattoo for my great grandmother who has passed away and it was the best experience! I decided last minute on New Years Eve to end the year with getting a tattoo to memorialize the recent death of my father. I had some ideas and thoughts on what I wanted but couldnt really articulate it or put it all together (I am far from artistic)Thankfully, Mike is. He not only helped me put it all together into a beautiful tattoo but he was also friendly, professional, and squeezed me in with no appointment. My husband introduced me to In The Skin and I’ve been hooked ever since!!! They are friendly, and super clean! It is THE only place I trust to put a needle to my skin for a tattoo knowing I won’t have to get a cover up later because it turned out not like I envisioned!!! Will & Mike are the best!

One AMAZING place with a lot of talent under one roof...George did 5 different tattoos for me today and was very concerned for my well being. Friendly staff and a very clean place. I have been going there for about a year now and I am more than pleased. Finally a good tattoo shop in the Concord area. Mike, Rocky, and George are great artists and I would trust them with any of my tattoo work.

This was my first tattoo and I was terrified about the potential pain. Ive had friends tell me it doesnt really hurt and others say the exact opposite. My only experience with needles was piercings from my younger years, and the epidural in my spine for my C-section. I finally decided it was time and I met with Rocky to discuss what I wanted and get some feedback. The consultation went great. We talked about a few different style options ( size, color, etc) and price. I was so nervous when the big day came. Rocky was so calm and relaxed, it made me feel slightly less anxious. Then right before he started he joked with me about getting supplies ready bc most people pass out from initial pain . Once I realized he was joking, I relaxed even more. Everyone at the shop was really nice and supportive. The pain was nothing compared to what I imagined it might be. Rocky did an amazing job! My tattoo looks exactly as I wanted. I am beyond thrilled with the final result. I will definitely be going back to them for any future tattoo work.

Eric is amazing. This is my second piercing from him and he makes it enjoyable every time. Definitely the person to go see if you want a piercing.

Hispanic guy wasn’t being professional at all yesterday 5/26/20 around 4/4:30pm. I was referred to this place by my neighbors who go there and say they do a great job. Every tattoo drawing/idea I showed him he either said wasn’t possible or price gouge to make me go away. Im very experienced and familiar with getting tattoos. Either he didn’t want to make money that day or he was just inexperienced; idk. I may come back eventually hoping for a better experience and or personnel, but not anytime soon.

I had Will as my artist and traveled from California to North Carolina for his work. I’m currently active duty in the Marine Corps and he was willing to work with me. My custom pieces came out exactly how I wanted them. 10/10 will be back and 10/10 recommend.
