This place is awesome. I had a few scars from my past I wanted to cover with an outline of North Carolina. Pat was my artist, and he was super friendly. Not to mention he did an absolutely amazing job. He made me feel super comfortable, and his conversation was great. I laughed the entire time, and I didnt even feel like I was being tattooed. Awesome shop overall. 5 stars!

I got a daith piercing here. All the employees were super nice, but the piercer came in 30 minutes late. The person at the desk was very apologetic and gave me a discount because of the lateness. The piercing experience was great! Everything was explained to me and I was taken through the process step-by-step. While I wish I got more of a choice about what the jewelry would look like, I am happy with what I received. :)

Got my second tattoo from SkinCity. Pat is my artist. Even my first tattoo is done by Pat. He cool, if I get chance I will definitely get my third tattoo with Pat.Reasonable rate, they use good quality of products.

Dont let their little corner location turn you off... Everyone Ive met here has been friendly. Britney is amazing! She did a great job with my custom design and was patient with me while we made her art perfectly fit my wants. Her tattoo station was clean and I never felt like I was in an unsafe environment. Ill definitely be returning for more.

Got a tattoo today by Deborah. She was friendly, professional, efficient and did a great job. The staff were all friendly and the rates are very reasonable. I brought my own artwork and she did a great job making it an exact match. Thanks for my excellent Tarheel tattoo! Go Heels!

I am so glad I chose this place!!! I had a last minute idea to get a cover up & Spade made sure I got what I needed! He was patient & he was nice. I recommend this place 10/10. I will go back for the rest of my sleeve!!!!!!

UPDATE: I now have six tattoos by Spade, and they are all beautiful. Most recent one is a blue butterfly in honor of my son who died in 2018. Spade didn’t just do the tattoo, he was so kind and caring about my situation. Once again, I highly recommend this place and this artist.Original review:I initially gave Skin City a poor review after a friend told me my tattoo was bad, but it turns out that it has held up very well and I actually love it. Ive been back twice for tattoos by Spade, and theyre both awesome.

Ive gotten 1 tattoo and 1 piercing from there and I have had nothing but an amazing experience. Tattoo was a flash tattoo and it was super quick and all the lines are clean. The piercing was my labret and the piercer was quick and made it as painless as possible. Highly recommend this shop.

I had three piercings done at the same time: one upper lobe, one helix, and one faux rook. The piercing itself was very quick and painless. I have 21 piercings so Im quite familiar with the piercing process AND the healing process. I had my piercings done in May and it is now December and Ive had to take out every single piercing I got done here. All of them developed pressure bumps along with being unnecessarily raw and angry all the time despite my usual healing/cleaning process. Very unfortunate series of events.

Went and got my first tattoo today! Pat was so kind and super skilled in his line of work! Great atmosphere, super friendly people... really chill environment which is good if youre as nervous as I was! Thanks SkinCity!

I was visiting Durham and promised my boyfriends daughters that we would get pierced before I went home. Had made arrangements with the piercer ahead of time. Went in to get it done and was told there was no piercer tonight. Now I have two very disappointed girls and no contact with the piercer. Unfortunately there isnt many piercing places in Durham to go to.And yes, we did contact the shop directly. If you look at your Facebook messages, you knew we were coming in tonight. So if you knew the piercer wasnt going to be in, it would have been courteous to let us know. Thanks!

I originally gave a good review. I went in for a tragus on 2/12/20 The piercing was quick and smooth. I did call about a wait time ahead of time. When I got there the girl at the front(wish I caught her name) was polite and I only waited maybe 10mins. I really liked while I was waiting the same girl(again sorry no name) Went to see if Spade was ready yet since it had been a few minutes. Well I had a terrible purple mark on my tragus thinking okay a little bruised. I went to a even closer piercer to look at my Daith piercing to ensure it was healing properly. The first thing he said was how long did I have the tragus piercing. I told him since last night (2/12) he said it wasn’t even pierced through my cartilage and it would reject fairly soon. The other shop for my Daith used wrong jewelry so n I wasted $40 on a incorrectly pierced tragus That was too shallow. The shop I went to took out the incorrectly pierced tragus and changed my Daith jewelry. I in turn will not be returning.

Great tattoo shop. Very laid back and comfortable atmosphere. Nicki is great, shes done all 4 of my tattoos and I wont trust anyone else with the ink. Shes amazing and extremely skilled in tattooing; especially with portraits and shading. Thanks for the great tattoos.

I tried to shove an 18 gauge stud into my nose piercing that had started to close, it was painful. Went to Skin City and they switched out my retainer to an 18 gauge in less time and less pain than I caused myself at home. Plus they were very relaxed and pleasant so it felt like no big deal to go in for a quick fix!

Just got my conch orbital done on both ears by Spade. He was fantastic and talked me through everything. Great prices and loved meeting everyone working there. Will definitely be back in the future! Thanks again

Nostril piercing: I showed up for my appointment and the piercer was 20 minutes late. He then pierced me and it was too tight, small, and angled incorrectly causing it to sink into my nose and get infected. I went to a different piercing location to get it fixed and they said he had piercing me completely wrong and unprofessionally. It was so painful to get the piercing removed and healed.

I went in to get a smaller industrial bar placed. My piercing (done elsewhere) is 8 weeks old and was catching on my hair every day. I think the bar was always too long. I went in to skin city, it took mere seconds, didnt feel a thing, and the guy had switched it out. Gave me my OG bar back in case I lost a ball.

Debi, is a true artist! I had a small, quickly chosen, poor quality tattoo done many years ago and always regretted it. Stopped in to discuss a cover up tattoo at Skin City, and a few days later went in to start on a beautiful piece that flows from my lower back and runs up my side. I told Debi that I wanted something special, pretty, and feminine. Completed in two sessions, I now have a custom masterpiece that is unique and more beautiful than I ever imagined. DO NOT litter your body with hastly done, poor lined tattoos that a thousand people already have - visit Skin City for some real ART! The shop is very clean, and all of the staff I encountered were friendly and genuinely interested in what I wanted.

I have had both my lobe and nose pierced here. They do a professional job and there has never been a long wait. They do it with a needle so its clean and safe. I will get any future peircings done here.

I went to skin city a few months ago to get a tattoo. Went to a few other shops in Durham (one that I had got another tattoo from) and they wouldnt do it because it was 6.. on a Friday?? Stopped by shin city as recommended by a friend.. needless to say skin city will be the place I go to from now on! JOHN IS AMAZING!!!

This place was great! We saw Spade, who pierced my daughters ears. She is almost 5 and was afraid. He was so kind and patient. I will take my other daughter there when shes ready.

I did not have a good experience here. The guy who tried to help me with my piercings didnt seem to know anything about how to help. Dropped my jewelry, couldnt remove my jewelry & I even had to screw the ball back on myself because he wasnt able to. I spent way too much time here for nothing.

Gotten all 5 of my tattoos here plan on getting more, never had a complaint Ill always happily recommend skin city to everyone.

They didnt have quality pieces that are secure (nose piercing). They charged for a piercing that had fallen out 2 days prior.
