Tattoo Asylum is a great shop in an easy to access location. Their communication is clear and prompt. The shop is extremely clean and has a calming vibe. All of the employees are very friendly and accommodating! I felt very at ease. Mike and Cheree go the extra mile to make sure you love your tattoo. My tattoo was very sentimental and it was important to me that it turned out just right! They were very understanding and went above and beyond to make sure that my experience working with them was positive. I was given ample opportunity to ask questions and was given detailed responses. They made sure that it was a smooth process from inquiry, to planning, to scheduling, to completion and finally, aftercare! They were fairly priced and I felt completely at ease with the professionalism and care I received!

Mike did an amazing job and even added in some more work with no hesitation. Will definitely take all my business here.Few weeks later Mike finished up my chest piece and once again done a great job. If you’re looking for a very good artist at a more than reasonable price he is definitely your guy! Thanks again Mike!

Tattoo Asylum was so friendly and welcoming the second I walked through the door. It was my first time getting a tattoo as well as my ears pierced with a professional. They talked me through every step and prepared me. They made the whole process so easy and it helped that they made the experience enjoyable and fun. The shop was very clean and put together. My tattoos look amazing and my piercings have healed so well. Would definitely recommend going there!!

Mike is very chill to work with. Very professional and, clean cut as well. Which yes threw me for a big loop. lol but honestly the man knows is stuff. My friends & I came to get tattoos for my birthday! It was a professional experience. We all sent them ideas of what we wanted the day before our appointment. He did a really good job and got all 4 of us done at a timely manner! He was fun to work with! His name was Zak Lane.

Went in to check out the place a couple weeks ago to get an estimate of time & if they could do what I had in mind. Loved it’s instantly they were very welcoming. I decided to schedule my appointment that same day & a couple a days ago I went to get my first tattoo done by Alexis. loved the experience.

This was my first tattoo ever. I love it so much!! My husband and I are coming up on 6 years of marriage. I wanted to try something new and fun. I surprised my husband with this tattoo and he absolutely loves it!! Zak was my tattoo artist. Honestly amazing guy, he’s so personable and professional. I showed him a reference photo and he did exactly what I wanted ! Also everybody’s pains tolerance is different but it didn’t hurt that bad. The shop was clean and the environment was pleasant. Definitely will be back !

I wish i could give this place a million stars. this was the absolute best tattoo service i have ever experienced. i got a small tattoo behind my ear, and Zak was so attentive and kind. at the end of my service, he offered to touch up my tattoo if it begins to fade, and also gave me a free W.W.J.D bracelet, which made me respect him even more than i already did. i cried tears of happiness when i left their shop due to how pleased i was with the service. i have never had such a pleasant experience at a tattoo shop before, and i will definitely be going back! i highly recommend this shop and Zak!

Alexis and Mike were amazing! Alexis is great with piercings so I decided I wanted a tattoo by her and she killed it! Will definitely be going to Tattoo Asylum for all my piercings and tattoos from now.

Made an appointment for a tattoo, and they ended up having an opening later that day due to a no-show. Tom was my artist, he did an amazing job, great line work. Can’t say enough about Mike Eatons work. I have several large Japanese tattoos and BY FAR, his is the best and my other pieces were done by other reputable artists. The whole shop as a whole is hands down the friendliest of any I’ve been to. If you want a TRUE Japanese traditional piece- he is artist you need to have do your work.

Zach had a horrible attitude and jammed the needle into my skin. Ive had multiple tattoos and none of them hurt like this. And none of my tattoos were this red and bloody. He didnt seem to care, and was annoyed to be doing my tattoo. His attitude and work were so bad, someone who went with me said she wouldnt get a tattoo from this shop. Not a good experience. The one positive, the young guy (not zach) did a great job on my sisters tattoo and his attitude was great...but zach ruined the whole experience. UPDATE: owner of tattoo asylum reached out. Great customer service. They seemed to care about the issue and rectified the situation. Thanks for caring, Mike.

Just got my first tattoo and it was such a good experience. Mike was awesome and Im so happy with the results. Very clean place and really nice guys that work there. Happy with the results and will be going back.

Got my first tattoo here in August. Did a walk in about an hour and a half before closing. I had been to Twisted Sixs the same day and wasnt feeling good from my first impression so I found this shop on Google. The staff was really friendly and I only had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes for my sketch to be done. Chip was great! Very professional and talked me through the whole thing. He could hardly believe it was my first, I barely flinched! Very little pain and bleeding for a golf-ball size tattoo near my collarbone. Clean job, no issues with healing and he explained all the aftercare and gave me his card in case I had a question. Overall the shop was very clean, nicely decorated, and I didnt feel pressured or intimidated. Spent $50 and 4 months later, I still love it. I definitely recommend this shop and I plan on going to Chip again for my future ink.

Ive been going to Jonas since I was 18. Hes always taken wonderful care to make sure the design is catered to my taste and takes the time to do multiple drafts if needed. Im always more than happy with my work, hes done 8 pieces for me and all were reasonably priced. Hes great with conversation and making you feel comfortable while working on you. Cant recommend him or this place enough. Theyre like family at this point.

I had scheduled and appt 3 days out . And I called the day of being courteous to confirm my appt and other details . And they cancelled my appt with no explanation. The guy I spoke to was rude & unapologetically.I wouldn’t be upset if they would have called yesterday when they were operating a regular business hour to cancel .

Went in, never had a tattoo before, but I didn’t need to worry. The staff their was very helpful and friendly. I ended up getting an amazing first tattoo on my forearm of a family crest an it was better than I ever thought I could imagine. Jon did a fantastic job and I will be getting all of my future tattoos at this place; HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! (especially for someone who hasn’t gotten a tattoo done)

Im several hours into a large peice done by Mike, and am extremely impressed by not only my artists but the whole teams professionalism and skill sets. Theyre very respectful, its a great atmosphere, they make you feel welcomed and are very helpful with giving advice on the best image design/color/placement, ect. They go above and beyond for their clients and thats difficult to find.Mikes linework and color packing is spot on. Any other tattoos Ive gotten from other artists I see imperfections, but I have yet to see any flaw and this is a large piece. I get compliments on it frequently and people asking who did it.I recommend Tattoo Asylum, Mike and any of the artists 100%. Best place in Durham and surrounding areas in my opinion.

A friend told me get my first tattoo done here because they were affordable and do great work. He didnt lie. I walked in on a Monday and told them what I wanted, and the shop owner hooked me up with Jonas who gave me my tat on Saturday. He was funny, made the experience great, and my tattoo is freaking awesome!! I cant speak for every artist but if they are like Jonas you wont be disappointed. Highly recommend it and we will be going back for more!

Kristen is a great tattoo artist. She quickly drew up a tattoo design from a drawing I sent her. It turned out not to fit on my arm, so she made some adjustments to get it down to the right size. She has a very soft touch - this tattoo hurt less than my previous one, despite it being on more sensitive skin. The tattoo looks great. Also, it was pretty quick to get an appointment, which was convenient. Overall, an awesome experience. I highly recommend Kristen!

My wife and I just went here to get some more ink. We walked in and even though it was a somewhat busy night, they still managed to fit us in. Very courteous staff and professional artists. Danny did our work and did it well. He was open to our ideas and gave some helpful suggestions without taking anything away from our ideas and what we were going for. He was quick without sacrificing any amount of quality. Danny and Tattoo Asylum will definitely be getting my business in the future.

Bruce was amazing. I was very weary about having anyone touch the tattoo my brother started before he passed away, but bruce made our vision from back in the day turn into a reality and did very amazing work. Originally we had discussed a price and he was able to do it for a little less then we had discussed budget wise. Thats super rare for a shop. I will be getting all of my work done by tattoo asylum from now on.

My husband and I read that they did walk in appointments, so we called them at noon to see what would be a good time to come in for two tattoos. Never had been there before we didnt know what to expect. Christina told us to come in around 3pm. We did. She helped us upon arrivibg. She took an hour to draw up what we wanted. My husband was in the chair at 4:00 out by 5:00, then it was my turn. I got done at 6pm. Christina was extremely focused on her work and we couldnt be more pleased with our new ink!!I recommend this venue!!

I was recently tattooed by Jonas at Tattoo Asylum. He is AMAZING! I did some shopping around & this is by FAR the best tattoo shop around the area. My tattoo is absolutely beautiful. Not only did Jonas do amazing work, he went above & beyond! The shop is clean & has a very cool vibe. Theyre willing to work with you on design, price, location, schedule...you name it. I would never recommend this shop to anyone! First, unprofessional to tell someone youre unable to do a religious tattoo because of preference or other reasons. Another reason, if youre professional you would take a personal picture drawn special for someone and tattoo it for them not stencil it yourself and then tattoo. Whats the point, then its no longer personal art. NEVER RECOMMEND TATTOO ASYLUM!

Went to get wedding bands, agreed to my very simple design, walked out to my wife who was in the car watching our nine year old son. Did I mention its our ten year anniversary? They agreed to hers. Then they got very strange and fed me false information about tattoos on fingers (i sat there because my wife left to get my son dinner and looked it up on web)and refused to do the work they agreed to. A Self centered business. They were very rude.
