Ugly Bishops Tattoo Shop

Bishop is my favorite artist. He fixed a tattoo I had gotten years earlier from a different studio from some amateur dirtbag. It was my first tattoo and I didnt know any better. If I had not moved from VA to Texas I would only go to this studio. If I had the money and time to fly and see Bishop for all my tatooo work that would be most ideal.

Very nice shop. They were responsive to my Facebook messages quickly, were able to fit in my quick walk in, and they were very friendly and professional. Ugly is the one who worked on me, and he has a very gentle touch and amazing line work. Im Very happy with my piece and plan on returning when im back in town!

Been here 5 times for different tattoos over a couple of years, had 3 different artists do work on my arm/hand and they all look amazing after the healing process and everything and I will continue to come back.Definitely recommend angel, super chill dude and does strong line work

The artist I was able to work with (fellow geek! Lol) Chris Kirschenmann was amazing at his craft! So I designed the Empire and Jedi logo together and he helped make it come to life. I felt respected the entire time and work was quick and precise. I appreciate it dude! May the Force be with you \m/

Everyone at the shop that I had the pleasure of meeting was extremely nice. I came in to discuss a tattoo and Sean got me in quickly. He drew up the design that I wanted and it looks amazing. I felt that he did an amazing job. He wasnt heavy handed and he was very calm and it made me feel calm. I cant wait to get more and I am telling everyone about this place!!!!!!

I went with my sister, to keep her company, while she got a tattoo her son drew for her. They were having a $50 tattoo day if the tattoo was as big as half a paper dollar. Bishop did my tattoo and he did a great job. It’s healing nicely and he isn’t very heavy handed so there isn’t any scabbing or swelling.

Such an awesome crew who make you feel at home! Their work is amazing and every detail is done efficiently and in good timing. Definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in getting a tat! I havent gone anywhere else, and all my friends and family dont either!(:

Your wasting your time and money if you go anywhere else. My first phone call to the actual day I got my tattoo were filled with nothing but 100% amazing customer service. The whole vibe of the shop is warm, friendly and helpful. Be warned this isnt your average shop, you are surrounded by TRUE ARTISTS who make every effort to make your permanent vision a reality. They are here because they love what they do and it shows in their work. SPECIAL thank you to Charles McNinch who created such an amazing piece for my leg I dont ever want to wear pants again;)!!

Everyone in the shop seemed friendly. I came for Artist Sirvone, he did a previous tattoo of mine at another shop. I loved his work so much, that I wanted him to do another tattoo which is why I came to Ugly Bishops. It was a little far from my house in Alexandria, VA but Sirvone made it worth it. He free handed my tattoo and it came out awesome! Im not a big needle person, so he helped keep me calm and still. Hes very friendly, and personable! I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I’m absolutely upset with my tattoos. I got 2 VERY simple tattoos and they were BOTH traced. The girl Britney who did my tattoos was completely TERRIBLE!!! I would NEVER recommend coming here I’m so disappointed that my first tattoos ever are THIS bad! They are jagged and Blotchy and you can’t even make out the words on my tattoo on my shoulder it’s absolutely not what I gave her to trace over and my mom who has the EXACT same tattoo on her shoulder was standing right there trying to show her what was done on her shoulder and she still got it wrong and made it look terrible it’s literally made me so upset for a while now and I haven’t said anything because I’ve been so disappointed and so depressed with what I have. I was so excited to get my very first tattoo here I did not know I was getting myself into something that would completely ruin my body especially since it’s a PERMANENT tattoo and they both look TERRIBLE she even did a trace of a tiny little anchor with a heart on the top of it EXTREMELY easy and simple... And that’s also jagged as well It’s like she didn’t even CARE!! She didn’t trace the lines or anything and she kept being corrected when I was laying on the table and she was doing my tattoo and she wouldn’t even stretch out my skin to do my tattoo I’m so upset I would NEVER recommend this place at all OR the girl name Brittany who does tattoos she’s absolutely awful and does not know what she’s doing I asked her to do traces of things and she couldn’t even do that I’m extremely disappointed I have to get these covered now 😭😩 I don’t understand why they would even let someone who was in 8 month training still to do my very first tattoo and she FAILED at that as well. AND she STOLE my tattoo and put it on her wall when I’m the one who created it when I was younger which is why my mother had it on her shoulder first. So I SHOULD sue and I’m DEFINITELY debating on it. These people are terrible and don’t give a DAMN About the customers as well

I have not had a tatoo in over 10 years. I went to other shops in the area and found them to be quite rude. Bishop was so nice and welcoming he even did my tatoo on the same day. It is absolutely beautiful and better than I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend Bishop.

I have been following Bishop from shop to shop for tattoos since 2005 and highly recommend his work. He has done all of my work, or fixed the bad ones I should have gotten from him in the first place. By far, the best lettering in the area and I would recommend him, or any of the artists at his shop, to anyone looking for a new tattoo.

Great shop with a down to earth vibe. I was tattooed by Sirvone and am absolutely in love with the ink I received. Fun atmosphere with a certain level comfort that is needed while youre getting a tattoo. Will definitely get more work done at Ugly Bishops :-)

Went here for a family tattoo a while back and we had two artists. The two by the guy look amazing.... but the female who did mine and the last two it was such bad work. She is bad at doing lines, when my sisters own healed it had gaps in the line. Mine looks nothing like what it should and I am disappointed. The lines on mine are shaky and blown out. I had another artist comment on it while getting a tattoo. I would get it covered but the experience and meaning is why we got them.

I have had two tattoos done by Charles. Both are gorgeous & I get tons of compliments on them. He is very friendly & Ill be back for more. I cant recommend him or Ugly Bishops enough.

Bishop has done all 3 of my tattoos. The shop is clean and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend this tattoo shop! I drive 2 and 1/2 hours just to have Bishop do my tattoos!

Went to the Culpeper shop just to see what was up, Tattoo Guru is the man to come see. Very professional, polite, and very good at what he does. Randomly decided to get a tattoo done today and I am beyond impressed. The shop is dope, great atmosphere. I could sit in there all day and get ink! Highly reccomend this place over anywhere else! You wont be disappointed.

I am seriously disappointed with the service I got from Eric. Two weeks ago, I asked him for a tattoo dedicated to my wife, saying my one true love, her name, a heart and some flowers over my left chest. He charged me $150 for the tattoo, which seemed like a pretty fair price, for the design.Prior to the tattoo, I gave him a $100 tip to do the very best work, as this was an extremely important tattoo for me. All my previous tattoos at other places had more developed tones to the colors, whereas his was closer to coloring in a coloring book. I should have told him I would tip him $100, if great, not give it to him in advance.My wife immediately pointed out that he forgot to cross the t in true love. She also said the odd stems looked weird. I admit I had accepted the design, so my bad on that. I worked out a design with small, simple flowers at the end of the stems, and went back the next day to show Eric. He apologized for forgetting to cross the t , and said he had been thinking to do the flowers on the stems to begin with, but decided not to. I told him I wanted something to fix it up, and was willing to pay, if it was necessary to fix it with the flowers. He said he would fix the t in the tattoo, and was not going to charge me for the flowers either. We scheduled it for 10:30 this morning.I had been debating on a simpler solution to make some interesting leaves instead of small flowers. I drew a design and when I went to Eric this morning, he looked at it, and said that would not work with unless he did them on the bottom too, as it would throw the entire tattoo off. I did not really agree, but told him that was fine. I talked to my wife and she said she thought that would look fine either way. He then looked at the clock, as though he had not planned for much time to work with me, and said let me draw on you and see how it goes. Not once did he mention he would now expect any payment for any of the changes.He drew two very, very simplistic leaves, adding four lines to the tattoo to make the adjustment. It was lame, but since he was making the change at no charge and my wife said it looked better, I said it was fine, but asked that he put small flowers on the stems with the dots he would not turn into leaves. He said he could not do anything with the other stems, which was nonsense, but I figured my wife is OK with it, so the simple fix would be good enough. Since he was not charging me anything, even though it was not great, it was OK.AFTER he finished, he tells me he doesnt want to, but has to charge me $60 for todays work. I told him that he had said he would not charge me when I made the appointment two weeks ago, and he said he didnt recall that, apologized if I was confused, but said I had to pay the $60. I paid, left and immediately sent an email to Mr. Bishop. If I had known, I would have demanded something better than the lame fix he put into place, that took him all of 10 minutes to do. If I had know I was paying anything, I would have demanded the design I wanted. Those lousy leaves cost disproportionately more than the rest of the tattoo. Since I had to drive back to have him fix his mistake, I would never have expected him to charge for a few minutes extra work. If he was planning to charge me, he should have quoted me a price up-front, not sneak it in at the end and tell me he didnt want to charge me, but was required by shop policy to do so. To tell me he has to charge me AFTER doing the work is wrong. I would never have agreed to such a lame change for $60 and would have insisted to get a quote to fix it how WE actually wanted it fixed.I chose Ugly Bishops for their good rating. Having them treat me as I was treated is completely inappropriate. I dont care about $60, I care about not getting what I wanted and not being dealt with fairly.

I have gotten several tattoos done at Ugly Bishops and the work is phenomenal in my opinion. Angel did my one of my last tattoos which is a Fleur de lis and I get a lot of compliments on it. Check them out you cannot go wrong.

Horrible. My family MADE APPOINTMENTS to get 3 tattoos done. We traveled for over an hour to get to the shop only to be told that we didnt have an appointment even though our names were in the book. The girl on duty was extremely rude and unprofessional. She tried to get rid of us by telling us to travel 40 minutes away to their other location, we called the other location and was told no because although she didnt have any customers, she got off at 5. NEVER!!!!!

Bishop was creative, professional and tattooed in a clean, fun and funky environment. His work was spot on. Awesome original art and beautifully laid tattoo

I have been here multiple times for myself and for friends and family. I love all four of my tattoos which were all done by different artist. All the employees and nice and all do great tattoos.

Eric was very professional and courteous. The shop was very clean and I would recommend to anyone to get a tattoo from there. Im taking my daughter there next time she wants a tattoo.

Awful service and can only tattoo in 1 style. wife was told they wouldnt give her the tattoo she asked for. the artist wouldnt listen to her, wouldnt sketch out options, and rushed her out. he acted entitled and rude. never go here.

Chris did my togepi tattoo and my best friend and Is Friday the 13th tattoos. Amazing work will be back soon for sure.
