I love going to The Hive! They have a great atmosphere and vibe, with great artists and staff. The artists are all very talented and easy to work with. They support local businesses and community needs, which makes them even more special in my book. I have recommended several friends here and even brought out of state family. You wont regret getting tattoos or piercings here!

Got my upper lobes pierced here and a leg tattoo. Legit the BEST piercer I have ever dealt with. Barely felt anything and I ADORE my new tattoo that I selected as a flash. They are constantly doing specials/flash tattoos and they just really make you feel special the moment you walk in the doors.

One of the best piercing artists and I rarely feel any pain when she does her thing. The tattoos are on point and they’re some of the most friendly staff and really make the customer feel no pressure.

I came into The Hive to get a memorial piece done for my late cat oranges, as well as a two headed calf. I couldn’t be happier with the outcomes of both tattoos! Jesca was my artist and I literally started crying in the middle of my session due to how beautiful her work is, and how gentle and caring she was through the process. The atmosphere, artists, and art were all 10/10. Definitely my new favorite place to go!

I suffer from migraines and Bethany was top notch and very professional. I have had my daiths pierced several times but without a doubt she has been the best! I even explained how much of a (puddin) I was and without missing a beat and making me feel completely comfortable and at ease it was over before I knew it!! I will never go anywhere else again!!

She was fantastic; five hours after leaving the shop my arm doesn’t hurt, and the area around my newest tattoo isn’t even red. Phenomenal experience all around!

I saw they had great reviews so I decided to go in and get my septum pierced. The vibes in this shop are AMAZING! Like its so homey and chill feeling in there and I loved it. Bethany did my piercing, she was super sweet and quick about it. Very professional and clean. The aesthetic is buzzing, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the artists are super friendly. Jess is amazing. She was very helpful and considerate with my design, and gave great advice on which colors would be best for my skin tone. She did fantastic line work on the cloud and sun picture window i wanted, and gave me exactly what I was hoping for. I highly recommend a visit here for your next ink therapy appointment.

I had my nose pierced on Sunday (somewhere else) The piece of jewelry used at that time was too short and kept coming out. I called in a panic at 6:00 to be seen tonight to get it fixed because the jewelry would not go back in. Isaac was AMAZING!!!! The first place used a gun (which I now know is terrible) Isaac used a needle. Was very clean and great. I already have NO PAIN with the piercing. The entire staff that I encountered was also very nice. Highly recommend!!!

I got a piercing done here today and it was amazing!! The piercer was kind and professional. She took the time to realign my piercing when I disliked the first one. She was very quick and it was completely painless. When I asked her a question about some old piercers I had, she guided me through the answer and helped me come to a resolution. She even gave me a business card with after care instructions and the date I’m able to change my jewelry. This was my first time here and I am 100% switching piercers. She is one of the best I’ve ever had

By far the best tattoo shop I’ve been to. They’re really accommodating and have free snacks and drinks and the people are very kind. Jess did mine and I highly recommend her. She’s very personal and does amazing work.

This is my favourite place to get piercings. I was treated with patience and respect here, and that went a long way into calming my anxiety about my first piercing. Things went so well Ive come back and gotten another.I got to choose the placement of my piercing and they let me know before they put the needle in, and the process was very fast and smooth. Bethany answered the questions I had about the aftercare of my piercing and what to do if I had any issues (with any piercing you get, youre going to want to research, because that can help you know what questions to ask your piercer). If my friends ask where they should go for their first piercing, I am going to tell them to go to The Hive!!!!Today I got a pair of lip piercings called angel bites. Im super happy with how they turned out! Thank you Bethany.

Only tattoo shop I trust to do my tattoos. Not only is the environment spectacular, but the people, the art, and the experience is not achievable anywhere else. You feel so welcomed from the moment you walk in to where it feels like family. I will always stand by this business and everyone there. I have used New Vision for most of my piercing needs. Bethany is great! Very professional and keeps a really clean piercing environment. Today I got a tattoofrom Jesca. She was really easy to work with. Had a great conversation while she did the work. The tattoo is beautiful. I highly recommend both these ladies! Great quality work.

I got my first piercing about 4 years ago from here and I’ve been back for every facial piercing, except my chest piercings. Which I regret tremendously. I’ve never had any complications from the piercings I received here and I recommend everyone to see Bethany. She’s amazing from the time you walk in till the time you walk out.

I’ve gotten my ears pierced and my nose ring piercing fixed up by Bethany a few times in the shop and she never disappoints! She’s one of the sweetest piercers and does an incredible job!I also got my very first tattoo at the shop about a year ago and the artist did an incredible job. He helped me through the process since it was my first tattoo and I’m so glad I got it done at New Vision. Highly recommend Bethany and the shop!

My friend and I came in on Memorial Day and was greeted as soon as we walked in the door. I didnt really have to wait and Bethany was excellent at explaining the piercing process and aftercare instructions! I read a lot of reviews before choosing a place and the clap backs were on point so this was definitely the place for me!!

I visited the other tattoo/piercing shops in Gainesville and was not impressed at all by the overall attitude and lack of motivation. New Vision is the only place I recommend if you want quality work done.

Me and my boyfriend went here after hearing great things, we went in for very simple line-work tattoos and the quality was just very poor. The lines healed and there are missing spots, the line-work in some areas arent even and overall it looks like someone who just bought a tattoo gun did this tattoo. The pricing was not good either, very over priced for the very poor quality.

My best friend and I went in for my birthday. Tots did my tattoo and Bethany did my piercing and I absolutely loveboth. They were so friendly and the environment was so fun and relaxing. Definitely will be back!

I called this place near closing time last night for an estimate on a forearm tattoo they immediately got me in a chair and absolutely nailed it you cannot go wrong with this place all the artists were helpful going over what I wanted and even stayed after close to get my tattoo done last night if thats not customer service I dont know what is. Not only that but one of the artists wife made sure I was as comfortable as possible and offered drinks and snacks. Dont waste your time anywhere else this is the spot.

I came in to get a conch piercing here a little over 2 weeks ago. No appointment needed!!! I love that! Bethany pierced my ear and was able to complete the process (paperwork and piercing) in about 10 minutes. She was professional, easy going and easy to work with. Bethany wore gloves and a mask so i did not worry about getting sick here. She marked my ear made sure I was happy with the placement, then pierced it with a needle. The pain was only when the needle went through. She told me how to care for it and it has given me no issues since getting it done. Highly recommend this establishment for your piercing needs!!

This place is so incredibly professional and kind. I got my first non-love piercing here and was so nervous! The entire staff was kind and encouraging and answered all of my questions. Bethany is stellar and was a total champ when piercing! If you’re looking for somewhere to get a tattoo or piercing, know that you’ll get quality, high standard people and services here.

My partner and I went a week ago for nose piercing and tattoos and we loved it! They were very patient went us and thoroughly explained the healing process!! Everyone were super nice as well! Will definitely come back here!

I love having such a professional and trustworthy tattoo shop in my community. All the artists are friendly and laid back. Caleb(Tater Tot), whom Ive known for many years, did an amazing job on my first tattoo and I will be going back for more in the near future. I had first-timer nerves and they were great at making me feel comfortable. I highly recommend this shop if you live in/near Gainesville.

This place is amazing! I was a tattoo newbie and heard about New Vision from a coworker. Eric is a skilled artist and an awesome guy. He walked me through the whole planning process and made sure I was happy with the design and its placement. I was so impressed I got a second tattoo three weeks later. I cant say enough good things about Eric and the rest of the employees at New Vision.

I have gotten nearly all of my tattoos done here and will not go anywhere else! They give the best opinion without pushing you to make the lifelong decision if you are uncertain. I love that they always work with me budget wise before drawing anything up for me to make sure I dont get a surprise 500 dollar tattoo that I can not afford which has happened at other shops before. I will always come here first for anything done. I have had multiple family members and friends that have come here for piercings as well and they have never had an issue with it. Eric and company are very clear on instructions and are willing to answer any questions that anyone has :)

I have gotten 3 tattoos and 2 ear piercings from them and they were really good. The artist was very professional and clean. The piercer knew what she was doing and made it quick and painless. I would recommend New Vision if you want a tattoo or piercing.

Came in wanting a small logo tattoo. my artist was jess which is the owner. i sent one in that had a simple change compared to the other i showed her after she didnt get the first one exact. the difference were some lines but the problem wasnt that, the shapes that made up the logo in the sketch werent the same. at first i asked her to make a subtle change, she did. offered to send in the different picture but she said she had it. upon further review i noticed something else was not the same as the logo. when i asked her to change it the response i recieved was “i can change that once i start tattooing you etc. i know what im doing.” she also asked me to make up my mind between designs but they were the exact same thing except one left out some minor detail, which was the one i preferred. the drawing just wasnt what i sent. we get you’re the proffesionals obviously you work in a tattoo shop, i was just trying to make sure the tattoo is what i want as it is permanently going on my skin. i think you could work with your clients a little better

1st time in this shop. My tattoo artist just started here, and since Josh does all my work, I switched too. Get place all of the staff are very friendly. Awesome atmosphere, and of course in my opinion the best tattoo artist.

I wish I could show how good of a job Eric did on my tattoo but google is lame and wont let me post a picture. Followed the after care instructions (which were different than I was used to) and my colors stayed just as bright as when I first got it (normally my skin rejects colors so I have to get it touched up). I explained it to Eric and he said he would take care of it if that happened. He let me take breaks if the pain got too intense. Ive read all of these reviews before posting and honestly I cant see him or anyone there doing that because they were very nice to me. I was getting a labyrinth tattoo so they played the labyrinth for me and it was an overall great experience. Oh and when I got the price my jaw dropped. It was a pretty good size tattoo that took a few hours to finish and it had colors and shading and it was only 120. I honestly cant wait to get my next one.

Very great artist. Very cool to talk to and Eric is one of the coolest guys Ive ever met. He done 2 of my tattoos and repo done my other one. All came from new vision and I couldnt be more happy with everything. My girlfriend got her first tattoo there and Eric drew up what she wanted and it was very detailed and she was very pleased with the results

I will never understand how a business is ran on being rude to a paying customer such as myself. Hey Repo just remember bad news travels fast. Also dont forget that I traveled from Atlanta to find your shop and you pitched a fit like a child today when I wasnt able to make my appointment because Im going to the beach and will be in the sun too which you would probably not recommend doing. Also this appointment for today was never secured by a deposit. Although I did setup my next appointment with Eric by paying a $50 deposit. But yet you call me to chew me out because I didnt make it today. Well folks thats what you call excellent customer service. I will make sure that when any of my friends need a recommendation for a tattoo artists that I will stomp a hole in the name of New Vision Tattoo. You just missed out on an easy $400 + in business and more for a returning customer and referrals. Its not everyday that someone drives 60 miles for a tattoo. I will not be surprised to hear that this grown man has treated other people this way. FYI you dont run a successful business like this.

Got my nipples pierced here on my 18th birthday and everything went good. a day later i noticed my right nipple piercing was going into my areola on the right side of the piercing but through the nipple on the left side of it. my left nipple piercing was fine but i went to get it checked out in another piercing shop wednesday because they were closed and i just wanted to make sure and get a second opinion. they had to take my right piercing out because it was too deep, or far down. i loved this shop though bethany was nice and did everything right, i should’ve just checked the markings better before letting her pierce it, so before getting your piercing or piercings check the markings please don’t just trust it.

I went in today as a walk in to get a touch up on a previous tattoo from another shop and get another small one. Repo was amazing and did both for a great price! If you’re a walk in, there is usually a wait which should be expected. All of the staff is super nice and willing to work with you and make sure you get what you want within reason. Highly recommend!!!

Eric is the absolute best. I dont go anywhere else for my piercings. There are tons of places near my house in Buford, but I will drive to Gainesville just to get my piercings done by him. Hes very good at making you feel relaxed before he does a piercing. I will continue to see Eric for as long as New Vision is open.

I got a tattoo here a couple of years ago and was disappointed after my tattoo had healed. I do not recommend this place to anyone and tell my friends to avoid it. I got a butterfly tattoo here and it looks like a lobster with wings. I called to talk about it and they felt as if they did an awesome job lol year right! So now I have to spend more money to get it either fixed or covered.

I got my septum pierced here last week! The piercer did an amazing job and it’s healing so nicely. I would 100% recommend this place especially if you’ve never been pierced before.

My wifes tattoo turned out great (we got matching). Mine however was done too deep and has become a scabbed mess, even with proper aftercare. Hoping it wont need to be redone. not at all happy with my results, but am with my wifes.

Ive known Eric for a while and love all the work hes done for me. Tim did my tattoo and it looked great at first, but its faded horribly. Other than the fading it was a good experience and I dont have any serious complaints, but I do plan of having the guy I usually go to touch it up soon. The outline work is a little uneven (dark in some areas, light in others), overall its not horrible, it just could have been better.

Tim is an awesome artist! Insanely talented and very easy going. He made the experience really enjoyable and didnt hesitate to speak his mind. The amount of detail he puts into his work is breathtakingly gorgeous! Really cool dude!

Nice, clean, organized shop. The staff/owner are friendly. I was searching for a new shop when my last shop told me to come at such time, then when I arrive oh we are booked for the night sorry. So I went to new vision got some work done, wasnt impressed but figured well wait for the touch up before coming to conclusion. Stopped by Friday to make an appointment for Saturday if possible, was told no need to make an appointment ill be free at 5 come then. I arrived at 5 was told he had a customer he was fixing to start on would be roughly an hour. So I guess ill have to pay some other shop to do the touch up. If you want my business keep your word!

I went to her a piercing and not two hours later the balloon fell off. I called them that day and they said to come in. I work so I couldnt make it the very next day. These holes closed up. They wouldnt refund my money or do another one. Long story short they work is NOT guaranteed. They wanted me to pursuit30more followers for another piercing or poke around to ttry to reopen my hole which seemed hopeless.

These guys are awesome. Eric has done most of my tattoos, and a ton of my family and friends as well. Theyre flexible, friendly and its a good clean shop

This is the best place to get a tattoo. I have gotten 6 here and have got tattoos for 3 other people. Eric is a master of his craft. A true artists and so friendly. Its the only place I will ever get another tattoo.

To melissa skidmore, thank you for the great review. but what you didnt let people know is that you set an appointment to come get tattooed but didnt have the courtesy to call and cancel til after your appointment time. People have families and when you make an appointments, people have to taketheir time out for you to make you happy to prepare for your tattoo, time that we dont get paid for.this just shows what kind of person you are and why tattoo artist can be grumpy. Asked about a price for a tattoo and the guy was being completely rude about it saying that theyre about quality over price. Of course, you would want to know how much the tattoo costs before you get it. I could do without the attitude. Would not recommend this shop.

Worst experience ever! Guys were rough when they pierced and they didnt pierce properly. A week after my piercing was done it ripped out because the owner pierced so badly it literally fell out. i have multiple piercings and i have never had problems until i went to this place. Dont go no matter how cheap it is!!

I never leave reviews for places however other people who decide to go here need to know the lack of professionalism and flat out disrespect that the owner displays. If you dont believe it take a look at how he responds to the reviews that say anything negative about this place. This is the same sarcasm and egotistic attitude that he gives his customers. Ive had friends and family come here and complain but I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and try it myself. He even told me to not come back, which shows his lack of regard towards customers. Dont worry I will never be going back and I will make sure everyone I know doesnt either. I took my 18 year old in for his 1st tattoo. It was one that memorialized his Papa that had passed last year. He showed Eric a picture and he tweaked it and it turned out even more amazing than we originally was hoping for!!

Not only one shallow nipple... but two and friend and myself came in a few months back one ripped on one side of hers... And mine is crooked... On top of that I know this is simple and stupid of me to be mad about Im sure and its probably petty. But I had my two year old with me that day and yes he had a couch she could have simply say on but he legitimately made us go outside... Yeah I didnt have to come to you but we wanted to come to you, for the sake of maybe finding a new ink/ piercing parlor... He had signs that said no one under age and no kids but seriously?!? It infuriated me that we had to sit outside and he really wasnt the friendliest either... Sorry guys but Im very upset with the piercing job...

Just got done getting my tattoo from Eric, everyone there was EXTREMELY professional and very kind... My other tattoo guy turned me down for my tattoo but these guys did it right the very first time, will definitely be going back when Im ready to get my half sleeve done!!!!

Regarding Ms. Skidmores earlier comment: Yes, you made an appointment and then canceled it. Not only did the shop spend hours designing your art for you but that time slot was held solely for you and you did not show. So instead of making the $400 you say they could have made they only made $50, off of your initial deposit. They also lost money by not having that time available for someone else. As a grown woman, which I can only assume you are but I have my doubts, I would think that you know that those of us who live in the day-to-day working world take appointments for a reason. Appointments are made not only for your benefit, but for the benefit for the business as well. Doctors offices, Law Firms, Tattoo Shops, we all function off of appointments. When you call at the last minute to cancel it not only affects the artist, it affects the business. So, before you go on and on like a whiny two year old having a fit because someone didnt lay down and let you walk all over them, think about how your actions contributed to the situation.

I have gotten most of my tattoos here. They are amazing. I would absolutely return for more. All of the artists are very talented.

I called store to ask when a good time to come in and they said “idk I’m not a physic”I asked to speak to manager and he told me “you are a p—-y b——tch and we don’t want to do your tattoo mr couch” he then proceeded to say “I know who you are Davis couch” then threatened me. I’ve contact the correct people and I hope they get what they deserve.

If I could give this place zero stars I would I just left new vision and it was a terrible experience I didn’t get a tattoo bc zach the owner or manager had a attitude when speaking to him about a cover up... I had called earlier to ask if they did walk-ins they said yes and when I went in it was like they did not want to do my tattoo they wanted me to set up an appointment.. I’m skinny so the tattoo I wanted wasn’t going to be huge but he(Zach) continues to look annoyed and blank until I finally said I’ll go somewhere else! will never go back here for a tattoo and I went to new vision off a recommendation from a friendWent somewhere else he didn’t judge or look like he didn’t want to do work on me.. a walk in is a walk in... if you don’t except walk ins for detail work or you don’t have the time then say that don’t say walk ins are welcomed when clearly they’re not..

We did a walk in and wait time was very reasonable for a Sat night. Allison did our tat and she was fab. Definitely going back to her

Took my daughter for a tattoo.Lil Midget guy did her tatt..He went to deep and scarred her.She went to show him and he and the staff were rude to my daughter and made it seem like it was her fault.She has had several tarts and none healed that way.Also she got piercings for a bar and another artist from a different shop said that her ears weee too small and they “New Vision “,should have told this.I won’t be going there again.I may be taking them to court if it doesn’t get better

Well, where do I start?... They charged me 120 an hour!!! Very disrespectful people working there SMH.. My cousin went up there, they wouldnt give his money back that he put as a down payment and he didnt even get a tatt???? I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

All you need to do is look at the responses to the concerned customers in these reviews. Nothing but excuses and does nothing to help the customer. They are lucky there isnt already a law suit on their hands, however that may be changing soon.
