Took my 5 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. This place was great!! Chris and Jacob were awesome with her and making her feel comfortable and ready. Jacob was very friendly and informative with making the paperwork process a breeze. Chris helped a lot with talking and making sure my daughter knew exactly what to do. Everything was clean and sterile. Both my daughter and I got our ears lobes pierced and are very happy with the results. I highly highly recommend!!! Thank you again Chris and Jacob.

I went to Screaming Needle Tattoo & Body Piercings Studios on 5/31/2024 right when they opened at noon. I had a piece of paper with my wifes hand writing that I wanted on my hand. Chris B gave some insight that my placement idea wasnt the best because it would fade and blur together. We bounced suggestions off each other and ended up placing it on my wrist/forearm. I was in and out within 45 minutes and am very pleased with his work. Chris was certainly amazing, and so was each of the staff that was present. The building inside is very bright, clean, and comfortable. I certainly will be back again!

Really enjoyed the vibe/atmosphere of the place. Everyone was very welcoming and nice. I got piercings while my husband got a tattoo. The front desk guy, Jacob does a great job of making everyone feel seen and putting everyone at ease. Maggie did a phenomenal job on my husbands tattoo. And Cammi was quick and efficient with my piercings.

Been here and the 28th st location for a handful of my piercings (I have 14 on the face). Staff is always amazing and they have high grade titanium jewlery. Very fast but quality service.

I went in for a walk-in last week, it was about an hour and a half before they closed. They seemed hesitant to get me in but all I wanted was 3 simple lines and they said that would be fine. My artist was Chris B. He took me back and was immediately seeming annoyed that I was fidgeting and moving because I was anxious, and the way he was speaking to me and moving me around made me have a panic attack (not completely his fault, I had a long day) but no artist should speak to and touch a client in a way that makes them so upset they have a panic attack.I wanted to leave at this point, but I had already paid and it was just 3 small lines, he certainly couldn’t mess that up, right? Well, as soon as he was done, I noticed the lines didn’t look the best (I didn’t say anything because I just wanted to leave) and upon returning home and removing the bandage I noticed spots where there was no ink / the lines weren’t straight.So I called them to let them know my experience, and whoever took my call was very nice. She said the owner would contact me to “make it right” and this was 2 days ago - I haven’t heard anything from the owner yet.I wasn’t even going to post a review here if the owner had reached out promptly, but I feel like people should know. Attached is a photo, I feel like this work is less than average and something I would expect from a brand new apprentice versus a seasoned tattoo artist like he apparently is.I would think twice before spending your money here, I paid $50 for 3 small lines and they don’t even look good - I have to go get them touched up by my regular artist who I should have gone to in the first place but I thought I could trust the artist at screaming needle since he said he’s experienced.

I literally love this place!! the staff is so fun & friendly- they talked to me the whole time i got my tattoo done! they are so relatable & inviting that i want to be their friends! i will always come back here- i have the best experience here:) Maggie’s tattoo work is amazing & reasonably priced. i love every tattoo i have from her!

Got some snake bite piercings today. Cammi was very kind and very professional. She took her time measuring and making sure they were even, and they turned out great! Seriously recommend this location, it was very clean and spacious.

Maggie was awesome. She exceeded my expectations with the tattoo. I really appreciated the time she took to do the tattoo. Thank you Maggie.. you have a lifetime client. P.S. the whole staff was friendly and also a very clean shop.

My boyfriend got a tattoo here a couple weeks ago. The woman who did it was super rude, charged him way too much for what he had done, and the tattoo looked horrible due to her making the tattoo too deep.

Lighten up on your strict policies. They wouldnt let me watch my daughter get her ears pierced or sit in the front waiting area by herself while mom got a piercing, so I had to come from work to sit with her for not even 5 minutes. Employee said in a very condescending way this is a professional tattoo shop. Yikes. Wont go back or refer them ever.

The place is so clean! The staff there is absolutely amazing and super friendly. Maggie did an amazing job on the matching tattoos my friend and i got today!! (see pic below) We will be back for sure!

Very clean lobby, piercing booth and friendly staff. I had Cami as my piercer. I got a helix and Labret. She was very patient with my questions as someone who had never gotten a facial piercing, and answered all of them. However The inside of my lip was off point although the outside was centered, and as someone interesting in switching to a hoop after it healed I knew it would be crooked. so I went back and got it removed and one of the managers was very kind and negotiated with me to come back. I appreciate the service and will come again.

I was told the tattoo would be about 6 inches. When he stenciled it out, it was only 3.5. He also “wasn’t told” about the design I wanted. The guy at the front remembers, but not the tattoo artist. I had an appointment and we didn’t even get started til a half hour late. Then he took 4 piercings in between the session. He acted like he was didn’t give a crap about anything. He just expected like it was fine. Didn’t look at us when he spoke to us- which was nearly nothing anyway. The guy at the front desk was amazing though. Bad experience all around and I’ll never go back.

Went in Tuesday for the 2 for $30 piercings, I had been to another location before back in November, but both piercings got infected so I took them out. :( I was very nervous, but Stephanie was so so kind and sweet and eased all of my fears. She even complimented my keychain!! (very silly) :) the piercings also came out great and she gave good and clear aftercare instructions. Will be back again if I’m looking to get another piercing!!

Customer service was great, the lady at the desk was very sweet. The piercer, Jonny, was not as nice. Quite rude every time he spoke and very rough with the piercings. The piercings I got with him bled profusely for over an hour, and have hurt worse than any piercing Ive ever gotten. And I have many!!Definitely wouldnt recommend going here for piercings, or at least not while he is the piercer on the floor.

Do not let Jonny pierce you. Went here for the first time to get piercings. I already have multiple and was going to get my nose redone, belly button tapered, and get a daith done. Customer service was amazing. Not sure what he did to my belly button, but it was noticably becoming infected the same day it was done. Used saline, piercing oil, and cleaned it regularly. By day 3 I had to pull it out. By day 5 I went in to have it looked at and they told me it wasnt done properly and was infected. My nose hasnt stopped bleeding in a week. After those two were done I declined the daith before he could do it. I have my nipples done and those hurt less than the taper and nose, which shouldnt be how it is. Strongly suggest staying away from here if Jonny is on for piercings.

I came in yesterday to get dimple dermal piercings and it went great, customer service was amazing, my piercer was very nice. But today after taking of my bandaids and looking closer I realized theyre different sizes, one is just a slightly bigger sized jewelry than the other. Idk why this happened or if theres anything I can do to fix it because Ive been told dermals take extra effort to remove. This wouldnt be as much of a problem if my dermals were two pieces and I could change out the top once they healed, but theyre one piece so Im not sure if Im screwed or what.

I was driving down Lake Michigan Drive, worrying and stressing about things outside of my control. Not sure why, but the 2 for $30 piercings deal that Screaming Needle popped into my head and I pulled in to the parking lot at the location across from Mr. Burger.I quickly went through a mental checklist:- Number of piercings: 0-Things on my body that I have two of: 6 pairs or so- Fun things on that list that can be pierced: NipplesOk, that was easy. I entered the shop and immediately noticed the superb cleanliness and ample natural and artificial lighting, two factors that I appreciate in a tatto/piercing shop and that determine whether or not I stay or leave immediately. Also, 90s alternative rock on the playlist is not a requirement, but it doesnt hurt.Within seconds of setting foot in the door, I was greeted by a friendly shop employee (did not retain their name, but they were blonde and wearing a dope CK shirt). After stating my desired service, they provided me with the appropriate checklist that is (hopefully) standard in professional shops, and I was also provided with an aftercare instructional.I think that its worth mentioning that upon returning my paperwork, the employee reviewed it, and beckoned me back to the counter because I had missed a line that needed my initials. It might seem small, but to me that signifies attention to detail and someone who truly cares about the work that they do.Despite the ease and professionalism of the setting, internally I was suddenly seriously anxious about my decision to get these piercings, and was pretty nervous.Thats when I was saved by Stephanie, when she called me to her station and immediately put me at ease by not only displaying an outstanding degree of professionalism, as was exemplified in part by her obvious knowledge of her trade and confidence performing the work, but also by giving me no choice other than to relax and feel assured about anything making me nervous just by her vibe and personable nature. This is the type of person you want piercing you, or working at your shop, no doubt about it.She had me feeling so at ease, that I didnt even notice that she had pierced both of my nipples. OK, THAT PART WAS A LIE. I most certainly noticed. It definitely had the desired effect of getting me out of my own head, though. And Im kind of a sensitive dude, gimme a break...After the completion of the work, I could feel a bit of blood rushing out of my skull, so Stephanie had me take my time returning to planet earth and provided me with a glucose tab and an ice cold bottled water.Overall, I couldnt have asked for a better experience receiving the type of service I did at Screaming Needle, and I kinda wish I had a few more nipples for Stephanie to do her thing to honestly.

I am so happy I found Screaming Needle! Maggie did a phenomenal job and my tattoo was more perfect than I even imagined. I’ll be going back to her for all future tattoos. Also, Gideon was very friendly and did a great job with my piercing. It’s perfect! Their studio is very clean, and the level of professionalism was outstanding. So me and my husband got piercings last week, my husbands eyebrow ball is falling off stripped and the ring is not long enough! i got charged because the piercer didnt put a long enough bar into my undershirt piercings and was having complications in which the piercer knew when he pierced it you could tell the ring was way to small. will NOT be coming back here for any piercings

First time getting pierced here. Customer service is great. The piercer did not use internally threaded titanium as advertised. So watch out for that. I ended up having to change the jewellery in a week old piercing *collective wince*.

I don’t go anywhere else for tattoos or piercings. Chris B is the best and always consistent and on point with his designs.

Septum piercing wayyyy to far back. Piercer tried 3 different locations in the cartilage, each getting farther back. it was quite uncomfortable. only giving 2 stars bc my other nostril piercing is fine. i’m also pretty sure he didn’t use a hollow needle on me or my friend

Went to screaming needle today, and got Chris B as a tattoo artist he is by far one of the best artist I’ve had. it was a very special tattoo and I couldn’t be happier 😊

I got my septum pierced there and it turned out perfect, not super big and placed in the right spot. got in and out within 10 minutes.

Im giving this three stars only because of my initial piercing experience, and because one of my snakebites was totally fine. The first time I was there, the staff was nice, it was fast and sanitary. However, the second time I returned about an hour later, after my ball had fallen out (it had been stripped, apparently) was terrible. I returned because I needed help pushing the post through and re-attaching the ball. My piercer put a piece of paper towel between my lip and teeth, pinched my (freshly pierced lip) and shoved the post through without sanitizing or warning. It hurt way more than the initial piercing. This happened a second time when they had to go grab a replacement ball. I would stick to the Allendale location, I wont be returning to this one.edit: figured i should update my review since its been a few months and im healed up now. i had to go have different jewelry put in becayse the post was too short and had to be shoved back into place every few minutes while i was talking or working (which hurt a LOT, i was in constant pain for about a week before i could go get it changed). i went to a different location and they ended up bending two horshoe pieces into wider shapes to fit into my lip. this led to the end of one ball healing into my lip through the night, and i had to go to urgent care to be numbed so they could cut it out of my lip. ill be going to a different business in the future.

Eric was the artist I had and he was very chill, quick with his work, and did a great job! Would definitely recommend him. The front desk staff was also really great!

I had a bad tattoo and found Chris B at the Lake Michigan drive location and was VERY impressed by his attention, care, and professionalism. I would recommend Chris to anyone, ESPECIALLY if you need a cover-up. This guy works Magic. I wish I had gone to him in the first place. It would have saved me chair time and money.

Chris was absolutely amazing!! My cousin and I went in super last minute to get our noses pierced and he did a fantastic job!! He explained everything so well and he was so funny! Definitely made it a memorable experience. My cousin has to wait to get hers done but he’s got us all set up for next time and we cannot wait to go back and get hers!!

High points: walk-ins welcome for piercings, super clean, very nice and professional, super affordable, let my friend and I both in the back room for our individual piercings (hers: earx2, mine: nosex2). Cant wait to wear two hoops! (Dont worry it wont be any time soon.)

Ive gotten 7 piercings done here in the last few months (as well as a really cool mushroom tattoo) and I will be getting more within the next few weeks! HaYoung (aka Zarah) is my main piercer. Shes keeps everything neat and clean and is willing to answer every annoying question I ask. I look forward to her stabbing me again soon!
