Walked in and got my honeymoon tattoo done by Spade and he did an amazing job. I highly recommend this shop if youre looking for tattoos in Hawaii. I gave him a rough idea of what I wanted and he sketched it up and put an artists touch on it, and it was exactly what I wanted and more! Will be back for the rest of my sleeve and requesting Spade . Also a great price! 5 stars

My boyfriend and I like to get tattoos when we travel to different places so we chose this shop based on reviews we read. We both got tattooed by Sean and he was great. Super nice guy that we had a lot in common with which always makes for a nice experience. We opted to get sharks in coffee cups to combine our love of coffee and commemorate swimming with sharks during this trip. The design he came up with was absolutely perfect and I didn’t feel the need to change a single thing. The girls at the counter were really friendly and personable as well. The quality of work speaks for itself and I cannot recommend this shop enough. Not to mention that they have really good coffee there too!

I just left from my appt with Brags and I absolutely love my tattoo. He did such an amazing job and I am so happy with the way it turned out. He listened to what I wanted and checked in with me thought out the process. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you ever need to get a tattoo, definitely go see Brags. Process was easy. Contacted them through Yelp and Amanda helped me get scheduled for a consult. She gave me the IG’s of a few artists so I could see their work. The consult was to talk to the artist on what I was looking to do. I had a design in my head and worked with Nate. He sketched it out and said he’d work on it before the actual appt. He also gave me his IG so I could ask questions and submit addl ideas before my appt. I submitted a couple questions which he responded to. I picked Nate because his portfolio had work that most represented what I wanted. Day of, Nate first showed me his design which I loved. We made one small tweak and he prepped and we were off on a 4 hour journey. The work was very detailed from the stencil to the line work to the finished work. The shading is awesome and he took my suggestion and request for color on the Chinese characters. I think he does great work and many of the other artists stopped by and gave nods of approval.

First tattoo! I worked with Spade who was very communicative, gentle, kind, professional, and overall awesome! Sacred tattoo itself is a clean establishment. I was shown the needles in packaging and the expiration of 2028 was pointed out and during the consultation we went over the ingredients of the ink. Very happy with how my tattoo turned out- small one on the ribs. Great technique, Spade didn’t rush through anything and let me know what he was working on and checked in on pain levels. All the staff were kind and supportive! Will be going back!

I was so glad to have stumbled upon this shop during my visit to Oahu. I love that it’s a coffee shop and tattoo studio (two of my favorite things). Every person who works there was genuinely friendly and welcoming. My sister and I were able to get in on the last night of our trip and the experience was amazing! Both artists were great at their craft and the experience was great. I appreciated especially that they keep very high sanitation standards. Probably one of the best tattoo experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for traditional style tattoo James does a great job I’m so happy with how my tattoo turned out!

I came in asking for a cloud with a rainbow in the middle and Spade showed me this design.The white was left as straight lines and I had to ask for more blending in the white.When I told him it was nothing like what he showed me he said it was “spot on”When I told him there’s no dimension in the tattoo like what he showed me he said “you’re trying to pack all this color into one little space” and offered to keep working on it but I honestly don’t think there’s anything else he would have been able to do to make it better.At the end of the conversation he asked “do you still want me to wrap it?” Weird question to ask, it’s still a tattoo that needs to be taken care of properly.He didn’t charge me but when I went to leave the lady working the front desk asked if I wanted to leave a tip and I said no and she said “I think that he worked hard on it and tried his best” and “you came in wanting something unattainable”What he presented me with was something unattainable for him. If he wasn’t confident in executing what was shown to me he should not have tattooed it.

I visited Hawaii for the first time a week ago and wanted to get a tattoo of something meaningful about Hawaii! I love the plumeria flower. I searched for tattoo shops and this one was number 1 when I searched google! I was able to schedule an appointment right away! They scheduled me with Tweety! She was awesome!! I told her what I was wanting and she drew it up and it looked so good!! Everyone was very nice there and every tattoo artist was working on some awesome tattoos! Very impressed! I went to Sacred Art because an artist that tattooed me last year in Lahaina had moved there. Her name is Tweety Higgins and not only is she a great artist , she is a great person. I had her do a manta ray ( Polynesian style ) and it came out FANTASTIC!

Based on the work i seen posted on their instagram i thought the artist Dustin would do a great job on the piece i wanted. Although i was very disappointed once it was healed, it hasn’t even been two months and the tattoo is faded and details disappearing, the lines are not straight what so ever. It’s very disappointing that when i was trying to get a tattoo to mark the experience of my trip to Hawaii, that i had to go and get it redone within no time at all at a shop in my hometown. If you’re getting a piece with lots of detail and you want it to remain looking that way, i do not suggest this tattoo shop.

Atmosphere is phenomenal, everyone is very friendly. Nate did an absolute amazing job with my piece! Very satisfied & prices are reasonable.

Walked in mid-afternoon to peruse the books and the idea of tattoos. Walked out with a booked same day appointment and excitement. They let us take some time and figure out what we wanted and where. Came back and got both of us done in a quick and timely fashion and great work by Dustin. Pricing is more than fair and I would highly recommend them for a quick and great memory in this beautiful state

Talented artist! I called to get 6 people tattooed. They were able to get us in 2 days later. Turns out the manager grew up not far from our group that took the trip to Hawaii, and one of the wives knew his sister, small world. I am looking forward to future work, but when he goes to Florida.

Was on a two-week trip in Hawaii (Waikiki) and besides eating amazing food and visiting must see sights, one of my to-do’s on this trip was to get a tattoo. I was a scatter brain in terms of what I wanted, from a fish hook to a tribal tattoo to a tiki, which initially I wanted on my forearm then decided on my upper arm. Jay recommended Ariel to me and she did such a phenomenal job freehand on my arm and coming up with a design. It was almost like she read my mind! Just love it every minute, and hoping to head back to Hawaii next year to finish it up to my shoulder!My son was there as well getting a tiger tattoo on his forearm and let me tell you, it was beautiful. Love the people there, love the ambiance and not to mention the music selection. It’s what a tattoo place should be.We visited numerous other tattoo places nearby but was not too impressed or rather not our style. What they say about finding a good artist is 100%. Both Ariel and Jay are masters of their craft.Highly recommend without any hesitation.

Walked in to get a coverup done, unsure of what I wanted. Brags helped me pick one of my options that meant a lot to me, custom designed, and did the artwork beyond my expectations all in a couple hours, without an appointment! Amazing artist, and a good shop and atmosphere. Will be coming here to see Brags for all of my future work!

Recently started my full back piece with Jay and it was an amazing experience. He is talented, diligent, and personable. He is open-minded and worked cohesively with me in bringing my vision and what I wanted to life, but he also added so much of his creativity to the piece as well. Having found my go-to artist was an amazing feeling and I have already booked another session with Jay. Everyone, if you are looking for someone to make beautiful pieces with, Jay is your guy!!

Fantastic! I went here for my first tattoo after a friend recommended them. The place was clean, had a relaxing vibe and the guys there were super friendly. I worked with Julian for my tattoo he definitely knows his stuff and made my experience super chill. They have tons and tons of drawings to base your tattoo off of or get ideas but still make it personal to you. I will definitely be going back.

Great place from start to finish! From booking the appointment to the finished product. Everyone is so nice. My tattoo artist was Dustin. He offered me variations of what I wanted and I decided to go with his artistic flare. This is my first tattoo and I love it!! And it’s hard for me to trust anyone because I’m such a perfectionist, but I could tell with Dustin he pays attention to detail. My husband loved Josh (super nice and personable) and loved his work. Julian did a great job and his work was clean. All around great spot. For sure will be visiting them again when we come back to the island!!

I love my tattoo and the artist was very nice and did a great job. It would’ve been five stars but I was originally quote $250-$300 and it ended up being $450. I don’t mind the price so much as I mind the total being so far off the quote. I didn’t make any changes or requests after I was given the quote. Beside that it was a great experience. Clean shop and I love the finished piece.

Not a fan. Hardly go out of my way to give bad reviews but when it’s bad, I just have to. Don’t visit, much less leave a deposit if you aren’t fully disclosed on eye gouging prices for a small black tattoo, mind you, I have a lot of work done, no newbie here. Should’ve read reviews on here before choosing to go with this shop, unfortunate we weren’t with the other artist that actually have good reviews on here. Clearly the ones we were set up with aren’t mentioned with good rapport, wonder why. Save your time and money, visit elsewhere.

What an incredible experience. We came in a day ahead to discuss what we wanted and each of us were placed with incredible artists. Nate took time to work with me and discuss what I wanted prior to the incredible work under the needle. Dustin took time to work with Taylor making sure she got exactly what she wanted in the location she preferred. These guys and this studio gave us an incredible experience on our incredible trip to Waikiki.

This location is on Ala Moana Blvd. Not to be confused with their other, nearby location on Kalakaua Ave., further in Waikiki (coffee shop) l do not recommended that location. Easy to make an appointment. I was there in just over an hour after I called, and they were able to take me. The vibe was relaxing and welcoming. The shop is clean. Spade was my artist for my tattoo. He was professional and helpful while also being patient with helping me choose my design. His work was clean and painless. Matt who also does tattoos eagerly helped me choose piercing hardware. He also helped me install new hardware I had purchased. The 2 nose rings were super cute and just what I had been looking for. He was gentle, sanitary, and throughly explained all I needed to know. Including aftercare. I enjoyed the experience. Dannie, who was at the front made the experience even more pleasant. I used the piercer and the artist Smokey at the Kalakaua location and hands down, I wouldnt recommend going there. I cant trust that location based on my experiences there. But I recommend Matt, Spade and the service of Dannie at the Ala Moana location. Mahalo fam.

Daniel is the man!Got my first tattoo here a week ago and the experience was awesome. This shop has a great vibe and awesome people who work there. If youre thinking about going in for some work, do it - you wont regret it. I spent a little over 5 hours in the chair and Daniel was great. He made sure we took breaks, even if I didnt think I needed them, kept asking to make sure I was doing alright and had some good conversation. Couldnt be happier with the end result and will definitely be back for more next time I visit Oahu.
