If you are looking for American/Japanese traditional tattoos check out Luas work. Shes incredibly creative and has extraordinary attention to detail. Shes very accommodating and makes the experience of getting a tattoo exactly as it should be. On top of it all her price to quality, is the best Ive found to date. She is easily worth way more than what she charges, dont tell her I said that though... If you are getting your first tattoo or your last, I can not recommend Crimson Tattoo and Lua as your artist more. Matthew is professional, fabuliciously cool, talented and highly educated artist. Japanese style is one of his top callings ( in my opinion).Tattoo therapy is an addictive pleasure, something you cherish as an experience. I highly recommend this master. I had 3 tattoos that will last forever . Creepy people on several continents ask me to see my tattoos up close- as in- can I see your foot? Oops- I thought I was an attractive woman- but you just appreciate the art on my body, lol.That said- I just scheduled the next one- the whole arm and I cant be more excited about what develops. I have a full artistic trust in Matthew so should you. Enjoy

Amazing tattoo shop, professional and friendly staff will get you exactly what you want! Lua @bloood_devil worked with me recently on my flower and spider tattoo and I couldnt be happier with how it turned out, the line work and shading speak for themselves. Will be returning in the future.

Went to Crimson’s opening on the suggestion of a friend. Even when they were busy and had been tattooing flash all day they were super welcoming and professional. I got a quick flash from Paige and I’m excited to go back for more.Edited after 9 months: I’m happy to say I have now collected three tattoos from Paige, and am currently working with Paige and Matthew for more. I love this shop for their open and welcoming attitudes and a clean and pleasant tattooing experience. Highly recommend!

Gatlin was very nice and patient throughout the process. It was my first time getting a tattoo and he made sure I was comfortable. He has a good eye for details and worked with both me and sister until we were satisfied with the design.Would totally recommend this place.

This place is top notch! Matthew and Paige are great artists. Paige has done a few tattoos for me! Her work is SO clean. On top of being great artists, they are great people. If your interested in getting tattooed, I would highly recommend!

I got my first tattoos done by Gatlin and it was a great experience.Tattoos came out very nicely and working with the artist was very pleasant and easy. Gatlin was very patient and made sure position, and sizing are exactly what I wanted.The studio itself is very inviting as well. Good light and airy.

Matthew has a great reputation for applying his craft quickly with amazing detail. I concur with that! I have done four tattoos with him and love each one. Its always a quick process. (Ive done my last two on lunch breaks!) I have friends who also have tattoos by Matthew and theyre amazing too!

A spotless, hygiene and calm studio with an excellent interior design. It looks like a Tattoo spa.On 2/29, I have visited this shop as a walk-in, and luckily I got a slot on the same day.My tattoo designer Paige is very proficient in designs and tattooing.She perfectly translated the Polynesian design to a tattoo on my shoulder.I am very much pleased with her tattoo skills and patience.Her boss Mathew (Tattoo master), is hilarious and cracked a lot of jokes.I am very glad to find this place & people.Definitely recommend this place

After seeing the work Crimson tattoo dose I knew I wanted to get my tattoos done here. Matthew sat down with me, listened to my ideas, took what I wanted to heart, and came up with the perfect one of a kind tattoo I wanted. During the long sessions he took the time to make sure I needed a break to make sure I was comfortable. When you talk to Matthew you can tell that he loves what he does and strives to make every work of art perfect and personal for each client. It’s to bad this can only have five stars because I would totally crank it up to eleven.

The tattoos you see in this picture were original drawings that Matthew, the proprietor of Crimson Tattoo, created from inspiration material that I provided. The level of precision, creativity, detail, and professionalism that Matthew brings to a piece is unparalleled. His studio is immaculate, well thought out, and incredibly welcoming. I cannot recommend Matthew and his studio strongly enough.

Amazing shop. The vibe is very down to earth, everyone there is an instant friend and showcase incredible artistic talent. Best shop for those looking for a professional environment in which the artist cares about the longevity and visual appeal of the art. Wish I lived closer to benefit more from this gem! There’s no one else I could’ve asked to do my first tattoo. Matthew came up with a wonderful design and made sure it looked fantastic even before the needle touched my skin. He’s a wonderful artist and a terrific people person who will make sure you like your tattoo and will talk with you throughout the process always making sure you’re comfortable during any part of the process

My daughter and I went to Crimson Tattoo today to get a Mother/Daughter tattoo. It was my 18 year olds first tattoo and she was a bit scared. Paige is an absolute artist when it comes to traditional style tattoos! She is very fast and extremely accurate with her translation from what I had in my head it to what actually went on my arm. My husband and I were both very pleased with her work. Extremely well priced. Honestly I would’ve paid her more !

Matthew Crim is not only one of the best artists around, he’s also one of the coolest guys you’ll ever meet! A true craftsman in his field with an impressive knowledge and skill in all styles of tattooing. Highly recommend checking out his shop and taking home some fresh ink.

Matthew, was by far the most professional artist I have worked with. The studio was clean and open. Very comfortable. I will be referring him to a friend and plan to come back. He does great work and the experience was enjoyable.

This is more of a review of Matthew Crim than it is of Crimson, as I have not had a chance to visit since Matthew left Windhorse to start this shop. All I can say is that Matthew is one of the most honest and down to earth people Ive met, in addition to being a great artist. His skill in dotwork/stipple tattooing is fantastic, and can be used to create a wonderfully illustrated sort of look that youd find in old encyclopedias (not to say it doesnt accomplish much more as well, this is simply the reasoning I chose Matthew).On top of the exceptional work he performed, Matthew refused to accept the amount of a tip that I attempted to give him, stating that it was far too much. This sort of behavior shows Matthews true commitment lies with his art, and not simply in making money.All in all, I couldnt be happier to have been tattooed by Matthew, and am glad to see him opening his own shop. If my experience with him is an indicator or how this shop as a whole will be, I foresee Crimson becoming a mainstay in Kansas City. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

This place is truly awesome. Out of all the shops I have been too throughout many different states. Crimson takes the cake, the atmosphere here is second to none and Matthew is by far the most professional artist I have come across and I would recommend him to anyone looking for quality work.

Honestly, Matt is the joker man 5000 and should do stand up comedy. Lua makes the best tattoos known to all humans
