Hard to express how incredible of an experience and outcome visiting Davey is. He is an old friend so we have lots to talk about, but he could have the best conversation with anyone. I am laughing more than crying, which is a testament to Davey because traditional tattoos are not for the weak of skinned!Truly appreciate the dedication to preserving traditional tattoo flash with modern sparks. Its adds a layer of appreciation knowing the service you pay for here is going to fund a 501c3 to preserve the Grimm Familys visual contributions to the history of American tattoo culture. Amazing shop of friendly & kind people! I’ve gotten 4 piercings from Damon here & every time it’s like walking in to see an old friend. Shop is clean, inviting & packed full of historic tattoo flash from ceiling to floor. One of the friendliest tattoo shops in the area that puts out beautiful old school work (among their artists’ other specialties!). Very walk in friendly!

What can I say? I had a positive tattoo experience here. Danni was awesome! She took my idea, which included two cover ups, and brought it to life. I can always appreciate when an artist doesnt stencil but freehands with some sharpies. She not only was able to knock out the cover ups, but was able to make the test of the tattoo amazing. If you are considering a walk in tattoo, I highly recommend Danni. She was fun, nice, and most importantly, a great tattoo artist

Was my friends birthday and we decided to all get tattoos last minute, like an hour before they closed last minute. I was pretty indecisive, had the guy redraw me a design twice, we had some weird requests and they were still super patient with us and just over all a great accepting vibe. Definitely come see them for your walk in needs and be nicer than us about their time 😂

TJ and Grimm Tattoo are the best!! I was visiting KC with some friends and we decided very last minute to get some small tattoos done. I have had some pretty bad experiences at tattoo shops before feeling unwelcome and like my business was not wanted. TJ was incredibly friendly, helpful, and seemed really excited to work with us. I was definitely nervous and he put me right at ease. I absolutely love my tattoo and would recommend TJ and Grimm to anyone! If youre thinking about coming to Grimm for any tattoo needs - DO IT! Thank you all so much!

I went to get a piercing re-done it closed 28 years ago and ended up with an extra one Damien, was so knowledgeable about not just the medical side of the piercings and the healing process. Detailed ... But also the for lack of better terms the spiritual emotions the energy part of it the release of an old I dont know I just know I felt comfortable enough to walk in for one and leave with 2 . I could easily see him in the medical field just a real natural! Thank you my friend!!

Came in for a tattoo on my finger and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I wanted the number 11 on my finger and this was the nearest place to me. The guy was eating a McDonald’s Apple Pie and using a vape device mid tattoo which was extremely unprofessional. He also seemed to be racist as him and his colleagues were talking about how they don’t like dark people. He then scammed me for 120$ for two numbers on my finger.

Very rude. Tatttoo was not worth the price. Since it was a higher priced tattoo shop I figured they could at least do a decent job

Walked in - with Taylor Swift in town, it was bussyyy. Lots of groups getting tattoos! Waited an hour and spent and hr20 getting mine!The artist I had is quick, proficient, and a chill dude. The piercer was walking around between walk ins and hes a super cool dude! Didnt even get pierced and Id recommend him 🥹

Been wanting to get my ears pierced for a long time, even as a big guy I was nervous as hell, but decided to go for it while out with my wife. Damon was incredible on keeping the atmosphere calm and me calmer. He was real informative on the whole process and would recommend anybody get your piercings from Damon! Thanks again!

My husband and I have both had a couple tattoos done here. Always fantastic! The artwork and line work is top notch. It’s clean & feels safe. I would recommend them time and time again!

Poor service, unprofessional, and inexperienced. Did not take the time to stencil the image. Used the color grey to shade. Used one needle to shade. Used one needle to thicken an outline. DID NOT USE VASELINE. (Check out story below)I was really excited to get an american traditional heart tattoo with two of my closest friends. I showed one of the associates the tattoo we wanted and rather than take the image and take the time to trace it line by line, she printed it out and drew this (below). It definitely didnt match the image I gave her, but I was told that it was just for the outline and that it would not look like that. I trusted them and proceeded with the process.I was told Rachel would be tattooing us and wanted to check out her portfolio beforehand. All of my other tattoos are american traditional so I was looking for someone who specializes in that style. She didnt have a hard copy, but she did have an Instagram. I didnt see any american traditional tattoos, so I decided to go with Todd who seemed to have a lot of experience in tattooing in that style by looking at his portfolio.As we began the process, he stenciled the same heart tattoo and placed it on my arm and told me I would have to wait 10 minutes for it to dry in order for him to begin tattooing. I have never known any artist to do that, but I didnt judge. Ten minutes later, he starts to tattoo me using NO VASELINE. I asked him if there was a reason that he wasnt using any Vaseline and he told me that its because using too much vaseline will make the ink go away. Todds gloves were completely dry.When I looked over to actually see the tattoo, the outline was way too thin. I asked him if he was going to thicken it and he asked if I wanted him too. I said, yes, im looking for it to match the thickness of my other ones. He checked them out and literally used the same needle to go over the first outline twice and to start shading. I told him to stop at that point because I felt that he didnt know what he was doing. Rachel was the only other artist available so I asked if she could finish it.I understand that this is a big no no in the tattoo world but at that point I just wanted what I paid for. Rachel was flexible and kind enough to finish it but she had also made a mistake by mixing the color grey to use for shading. At first I thought she was using white to give it some highlights like my other ones but she wasnt.I wouldnt advise anyone to get a tattoo from Todd. I started to question his portfolio when I compared it to his wall of designs. One thing that stood out the most was that the anatomy in most of his animals and characters were off.It was a very disappointing experience overall. I gave them one star for pricing but thats it. I was really upset to have to pay for something I did not ask for. It literally looks like a rock on my arm and nothing like a heart.

Great work. No denying that. My cousin and I both got simple tattoos and they look good. Weeks later and they look fresh still. However pricing is not accurate. We called before we showed up, told them exactly what we wanted (we are talking less than an inch by an inch on the neck, nothing special no color or anything) we were quoted $100. We showed up and after it was done I was asked for $120. For just mine. I told him I was told $100 and he said ok. But my cousin also paid $100 for hers. The man taking calls needs to be more open about prices because it was totally unfair. We paid it but these are not $100 tattoos. Here’s mine, and hers was the same thing but a Pisces sign.

I’ve never had a tattoo done here so I can’t speak to that, but the piercer here, Damon, is absolutely incredible. Easily the best piercer I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I haven’t had an actually piercing performed by him, but he has changed the jewelry on my existing ones and helped me with irritated piercings with granulomas and physical trauma. He changed gloves repeatedly during the process, used hemostats and antibacterial swabs, and was the gentlest and least painful at manipulating my piercings out of anyone I’ve worked with. Incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable to boot! I’ve good experiences in the past with piercers who were good at the actual act of piercing itself, but were lacking either in knowledge or in the support/care that comes after a hole is actually punched. Damon is exemplary in this regard. If you need help with an existing piercing or any other piercing need, Damon is your man, and if I ever jump on the double loves I’ve thought about getting, I know where I’ll be getting them. 10/10.

We went in Friday evening and they surprisingly had no wait and got us in immediately (when we were leaving though, the place was PACKED). The lady at the front desk was super friendly and the shop was clean. Cory did my tattoo and I couldn’t have asked for a better artist. The lines are super clean, especially for how fine and detailed they are. I would 100% recommend this shop and specifically Cory!

Went to see Damon about my eyebrow piercing and nose piercing and he was awesome! so sweet and incredibly informative, answered all my questions and was able to keep in contact with him over text so he could be updated with the healing process. 10/10 recommend him

Got my navel pierced by Damian , wouldn’t recommend. My piercing wasn’t looking good had him take a look at it and he just told me “it’s upset and let it heal more “ went somewhere else and was told it was rejecting. I had also gotten one of my piercing changed there from stud to hoop was told it was gold, turned out to the plated gold which I did not want. Just overall wouldn’t recommend at allEdit - if in all bad reviews they say you wasn’t serviced here shows how this place in run. If it was actually gold my jewelry wouldnt have turned a different color.

I have been tattooed by both Jayson and Rachel here and both times it was professional and sanitary. I love both tattoos. Jayson just did the scorpion and Rachel gave me the butterfly on Friday the 13th. I will always come back for more.

Great experience in new location and parking is definitely a lot easier. Staff communication is great and they seem like they really care for you to get what you want. Matt is awesome he’s really thorough, gentle and pleasant to talk to. Love to see them still going strong after all the changes they’ve experienced recently.

Amazing experience. Had piercing and tattoo as a walk in and everyone was super nice. Was seen almost immediately and everything turned out great! Love the staff and the service.

I walked into this establishment because I saw a sign that they also are a tattoo museum and I just could not help myself. However, after I looked at their little exhibit, which are really really cool, I asked them ‘hey can they squeeze me in for a flash tattoo’ and even though they are understaffed and had a fire break out in another part of the building they were still able to accommodate me last minute for two small flash tattoos.I was so impressed by my artist (big man I didn’t catch his name but he’s a big man and he’s great). He was professional, quick and easy to talk to. He was also really excited to do my tattoo even though he seemed a little bit stressed and tired. He’s a great artist and I’m so happy with my two small tattoos. He also offered me free touchups if that was needed but I don’t think they are needed but still was really nice to hear that.I definitely want to get more tattoos from this shop!

Came to Grimm to get my nip pierced for my birthday and Damon was absolutely amazing!!! 12/10 would recommend, very informative making sure to explain the piercing process and the healing process as well. Comfortable, clean, and quick! It’s only been a few weeks but my piercing is doing great no issues :) 100% would get pierced here again.

I wanted to wait to write this review until my tattoo healed. Jayson was my tattoo artist and honestly I’m disappointed with my piece. I got it my tattoo done and it needed to be touched up. The first appointment was fine, I just had to wait which I understood. But it came time for my touch up appointment and he forgot I was scheduled (yes he did say that too me) so I had to wait an hour and a half after the time I requested. The gentleman before me had trouble with the atms and didn’t pay him that day but said he would be back the next. While Jayson was going over my tattoo it seemed more harsh and rough because he was mad at that situation. Apparently that was the second time that day, but it was unprofessional to take it out on my arm. It is still splotchy and there is a smear in the girls lips. I know there is a risk with tattoos coming out right and this was a risk I wish I didn’t take there because now I have to find someone else to fix those mistakes which some won’t touch another artists work. Three stars because the first appointment went okay. Honestly don’t think I will be back or at least to see him.

Went on for a pair of piercings about a year and a half ago. Damon was amazing! Kept in touch, answered all questions at any given time, and was straightforward about everything. Went back today for a nose piercing. Still amazing! Definitely recommend Damon at Grimms!

I went in awhile ago with a friend to get her first tattoo. This was the only place she did research on but we went as I got one as well (I have multiple tattoos) and by far, my tattoo from here is my favorite because out of all my others, its so clean and doesnt look like a hot mess. Hers was very beautiful and so clean as well and we loved it! Staff is amazing. My birthday is coming very soon and we are coming in for a piercing party with some girls we work with, im very excited. I will definitely be back for more, even will have some of my older tattoos fixed up here

Wife got her nose pierced, gentleman who did it was a professional to the T, atmosphere is awesome art on wall surrounded by old equipment fit the studio well! will def be back later in future for some tattoos!

I had an old tattoo on my upper rib from years back that I got out-of-state that I wanted to add more color and life to and I went into Grimm on a whim to see what could be done. I got paired with Danni and from the get-go she was awesome. It was her idea to do a cover up of some stars on the old tattoo and turn them into flowers, which I instantly loved. She drew her own design, I liked it, but then once the whole thing was done on my skin I was 10x even more wowed! I feel like I have a personal garden oasis on my side now, and thanks to Danni, its now a tattoo Im so proud of instead of one Im constantly trying to hide.

Walked in for a nose piercing a couple of nights ago. Damon was amazing! I had my nose pierced before and he listened to the issues with my last piercing. He explained his entire process and the pros and cons of each selection of jewelry he uses. I had a lot of fun and the entire experience was enjoyable from beginning to end. He offered a card for direct contact if I had any issues or questions. 10/10 would recommend!

The best experience I’ve ever had!! All the tattoo artists fit within my style. It is walk in only, but I didn’t mind considering the amazing work I had done. This was my first big piece, and Jason was a great guy! He was very knowledgeable and helped me understand what we were doing next and why. He is my go to for my next tattoo!

Went in based on reviews, while on a weekend getaway. Got my ear piercings fixed from a previous place, and both my friend and I got tattoos. Extremely friendly staff when we arrived. Piercer Damon was very tedious with his work to ensure placement was perfect for what I wanted. Zach did and amazing job with my tattoo. He has been doing it for under a year, but made me feel comfortable and his work was fantastic! Clean & professional.

I came in for my first tattoo with a group of girlfriends. We were all so excited to get tattoos to celebrate a big event! These people were so welcoming! Had the absolute pleasure of getting ink done by Artist Dani (hopefully spelled her name correctly). I was there several weeks ago and waited for healing to post. She did exactly what I asked for adding a personal touch to make it unique- it was a protection eye and she even placed it on letting the universe know what it was for. She has a light hand and a remarkable gift in her artistry. Highly recommended-I was a walk in visiting from out of town and the entire shop made me feel welcomed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars all day! I walked in to get my belly button done and I got right in. No wait and super friendly. The front desk woman was super sweet and Damon as well. I definitely recommend Damon for body piercings, he was super honest and made it a fun environment since I was nervous. Definitely will be coming back!

I think it’s a great establishment with fine work but I am dissatisfied with my experience. went in to get a piece of jewelry put in my Monroe hole and I bought the jewelry there the hole was already there I just needed to have someone actually put in the earring for me bc I couldn’t and less than 24 hours not even maybe 12 hours it had fallen out and so i paid 30 dollars for an earring basically. Needless to say I’m back where I started lol but as far as the staff goes they were extremely helpful.

Amazing! The artists are so talanted and friendly! Super fast too! My fiance and I absolutely love our new tattoos we got for our 5 year anniversary. We just walked in too. I highly recommend Rachel who did mine, she has a super light but steady hand. And Zach did my fiances pizza pentagram. He is thrilled with out amazing it came out! Super clean shop, tons of ideas and portfolios to look at. Honestly probably the best place in KC to get a tattoo. We will be back for sure on our next trip.

Got my first piercings ever from Damon who was amazing, and one of the funniest professionals ive ever met. He told me everything about the experience, walked me through my first piercing in detail, while also having conversations with us about shared interests and being genuinely hilarious the entire time. Went to Grimm on a mini vacation and they are absolutely wonderful! Staff is all extremely friendly and nice. They do fabulous work too! Not just that, but they all love what they do and get so excited for what you’re getting! I absolutely love this place! Ive had two tattoos done here and they were amazing about it! They were fairly priced and the facility is extremely clean. The artists Ive visited are Dave and Christine and both were a joy to work with! Christine designed my owl for me and my friend and she made the experience very fun! I had a tattoo done at another place and Dave agreed to go with the price they charged for the first line to do the next line. I will continue coming here!

Walked in and had Danni do a quick hand tattoo. Super quick in and out and everyone who worked there was friendly and welcoming. The lines on my tattoo are SO CLEAN, especially for a tattoo on my fingers. It’s worth it to spend a little extra to get good quality. Check out Danni!!

I did a walk in and got 2 tattoos one on each wrist both in black one Scorpio and one Libra sign. Im all healed up and they look great. They where very professional and the process was quick and mostly painless. Thank you.

I got a tattoo here one night behind my right ear. It was done very well. Fast forward to now, I want a similar tattoo behind my other ear. I went in asking for the same artist. The artist was not there, which I can understand. I inquired about making an appointment with this artist, they dont do appointments? OK, seems odd they literally only do walk-ins. I ask when the next time this artist is working and was given his name and work schedule. I was also told I could reach out to him on Instagram, which I dont have. I return and was told that this artist is still not working, I was told wrong. If you are looking for a place to walk in a get a tattoo (maybe, because with walk-ins only, you definitely are not guaranteed to be seen) this is definitely the place you should go. If you want a shop that you can build a relationship with the artist and get more than one tattoo, this is definitely not the place to go.

The team who works here is always super friendly. I always feel welcome. Even when I was getting my very first tattoo a couple winters ago, and didnt know the process, they never made me feel judged. They walked me through the front desk, and my artist had an excellent bedside manner (idk what else to call it lololol) that made me feel safe despite being poked 100s of times with a needle for a few hours haha. The quality of the work is incredible. I like to watch other people getting their tattoos while I wait for my artist to prep her space (not hovering of course, but from afar) and everyone there is super talented. Always always recommend. 💞

This is where we go. Period. Lots of history, personality, and character. They are clean with great energy. There can be a couple of hours wait but there are places to go to kill time like a wing restaurant, gas station, and Aquarius accross the street. It is in a relatively safe neighborhood with entertaining people, so we enjoy waiting outside to people watch. Pictured below is a just after with my newest one- a Dr. WHO quote with a rose they designed. The artist asked me several questions and I texted them pictures for examples before she mocked up an outline. They are good about considering your comfort for large designs, and they are priced fairly. With some second skin and clear care instructions it has been a pleasure each time we have gone. Love you guys!Ps. Coolest bathroom floor ever! Its all pennies.

I was a walk in a few months back and was able to be helped and tattooed fairly quick, the staff was absolutely wonderful and kind, listened and drew up exactly what I wanted. However when it came to the actual tattooing, mine are very scarred to the point of not being able to tell what it is. The artist shredded my skin in one place, and now I’m having to have it touched up by someone else. My tattoos were pretty small but still $100, and I have to have it fixed. Love the atmosphere and the rest of my tattoo is amazing! Just a bit disappointed. I also waited this long hoping 5hey would heal more and become legible but they’re just getting worse :(

Did a walk in and got a super dope tattoo. Trevor was super chill and totally personable. He did an amazing job and left a great impression. He was super excited to tattoo and seemed to get really into his work with creating a truly custom piece out of a common idea. Ill definitely be going to this shop more often.

Showed up @8pm thinking they were open because website says open till 12am. Showed up and the window stated 7pm. Highly disappointed with the hours shown on the website . I have suggested new times . I will try again another time wanted to get a few piercings this evening.

You can imagine my happiness when I called Grimm Tattoos and explained our situation and was told to come on down! Of course as walk ins we had to wait in line which did take a couple hours, but we were so lucky and appreciative to even get in! The owner Wes was a wonderful host and made the time pass with ease. There is so much to enjoy in the shop that the wait didnt even matter. Our artists were flexible, creative, and fast! Grimm Tattoo is amazing!! I came in with girlfriends tonight to celebrate a special occasion in our lives, and the entire staff was so incredibly welcoming, professional, fun, and kind the for entire experience. I went to get a labret piercing and it was by far the most educational, most professional, enjoyable, awesome, and quality experience ever at a shop!Damon took the time to explain everything from start to finish in multiple ways, then gave me the opportunity to ask questions about having this piercing long term and the process immediately following getting it done. I not only found my new piercer but made a friend in the business. Damon is an outstanding piercer and goes the extra mile to make it as wonderful experience possible!!

The artists and staff at Grimms are excellent. The owner and names sake can be found at the shop regularly and is always ready to share one of his amazing lofe stories with you. The artists are professional and very skilled, some of the metros top hands at this profession. The shop is clean and provides tou with a sense of comfort knowing all equipment, tables, and chairs are sanitized between each customer. You will always find a mixed bag of people here, but everyone is friendly and there to obtain some new art to adorn themselves with. I recommend this place to all who desire a new tattoo is a good location with great artists.

Awesome experience with getting my tattoo done by Blake. When I went in I wasnt sure what I was going to get or about getting one but I got exactly what matches me! They were very happy to help me and listen and everything else. Will definitely go back!!!

Damon, the piercer, rules!He has specific times that he comes in so call before hand to make sure you are able to be seen. I got a nostril piercing and he took his time with me explained everything I didn’t know. I was considering going to different locations but very glad we ended up here.

When I came in to get my tattoo, it was the second time I had been to this parlor. I do have to say this second time was a lot better considering the artist really took his time on this one, which was really great.I got my tattoo done by Trevor and not only did he do a fantastic job, but he was also very easy to get a long with and talk to like a normal human being.Grimms Tattoo Parlor is a great place filled with great people.Thanks you Grimms.

Love this shop! I use Katie as my tattoo artist. She is always kind and empathetic to the clients needs. Whether it was mine during a long session on my sleeve or another clients in a sensitive area like the ribs. She hasnt ever copy and pasted any work, its always her artistry going into the skin. Her favorite style is photorealism and I will only use her for it. She is an amazing artist. I would recommend her to anyone looking at getting more ink or their first tattoo.

I got 8 tattoos there today and Leah was was an hour later to do my tattoos. She also rushed the stencil and put on my forearm tattoo sideways. My tattoos are very sacred in my religious beliefs and she knew that and took no care in it.We felt pressured when the next client was there on time.We went back to discuss the mistake was made to discuss a partial refund was appropriate. Ultimately we left the store in frustration when they offered $20. They also laughed when we left.They also had an incompetent assistant do the work for them. The artist there do not adapt the art work themselves.I even gave her a diagram showing how it goes. I have no choice but to get it later removed as soon as possible since everyone in my religion will see and know it is done wrong.

I went to Grimm Tattoo as a walk in and I made an appointment with KT the tattoo lady for the next day. (She fit me in her schedule as soon as she could, for a tattoo that ended up being 7 hours!!) From the beginning she was super down to my ideas and adjusted them to the way she knew it would be the best. She is all about her work, she did everything she could to make the piece of art be fine and detailed. She is the best tattoo artist i have been to. I had the pleasure of working with Dave on a touch-up today, and my experience was excellent. He answered all of my questions, addressed any concerns, and was able to make great reccomendations. I got a tattoo here about a little less than a year ago. The artist was really rude and made me terribly uncomfortable. While shaving my arm he did it carelessly and even cut off the tip of my mole and left it bleeding. He dug into my skin and the entire tattoo is a raised scar, some of the ink is extremely spotty. I have to live with this forever. Please do NOT come here, I’m saving YOU from a lifelong mistake.Edit: clearly the shop does not care just based off the response.. a client says they were left with a scar for a tat and you make some joke off of it? very funny... like i said take your business elsewhere yall.

The girl with the green hair and glasses is VERY rude and unprofessional. We waited to get tattoos that only took 20 minutes for 8 HOURS and were on a list to be called. they weren’t calling anybody, the girl with the green hair insisted she would call and we could leave, but when we would come back to check every hour they kept taking people before us, even when we were standing right there and had been on the list for HOURS ahead of these people. instead of putting us quickly ahead of someone, they made us wait until the end of everybody to go, again even though we had been on the list. & when we got upset and asked to speak to the girl with the green hair & glasses she said “she didn’t feel like dealing with us” even though we just wanted an apology.Our tattoo artist was cool though and shocked we waited for 8 hours. She did a good job with our tattoos!The people at the front desk- learn how to communicate better and not lie to your paying customers.

We showed up with 4 people for close to $1000 in tattoo work. We were told it would be an 1 wait and they took our number said they would call us and locked the door. The manager came out on a break and we told him we were going to walk around to the shops around their store while we wait. We never received a call. We go back and they took 2 more people in and then informed us that they take care of the people actually at the store before the people on the list. Not once did they say we had to sit outside in the rain and wait to be helped. Never have i ever had people act this way.

Came in on a Saturday, took us like 2 hours to get in which I thought was quick. Friendly staff and knowledgeable artist!! Artists were very nice too! For the size and what I got I thought was decent priced!

First of all the tattoo artists are AMAZING and so friendly unlike most places who turn their nose up at you. And the piercer, Cordis is AWESOME, Ive received numerous piercings from him and hes so nice and awesome at his job. This is the only tattoo/piercing shop I ever go to. Theyre freaking awesome.

Came to KC to celebrate a union of souls. Wanted to commemorate the occasion with matching tattoos. Desk lady told us an hour wait time, we were told to give our number so that they could call us when ready. We decided to walk the stores in patience for the appointment call. Never happened! We returned and hour and 20 minutes to be told that in store customers receive priority over customers waiting for appointment call. If that was known in beginning we never would have left the shop in order ensure our placement. Overall very dissatisfied with customer service received. I could have very well done a multitude of other things than to wait on a non coming appointment call. Even after discussing situation with mr. Grimm himself awarded zero countenance or cares given for this situation. In my opinion, felt as if the pallette of my canvas was too dark for thier liking.

Super professional, AAA+++ on hygiene. Unbelievable KC history. I have been inked all across the country. I will go nowhere else after my experience today.

First off, let me explain how amazing Damon is! Wasn’t our first time interacting with him. Each time he makes the experience pleasant, reassuring, and comfortable! The conversations are natural and you almost forget the needle. Never in session too long. Always in and out! Wouldn’t dare go to anyone else to get peircings if I can avoid it!

I LOVED damon hes an absolute sweetheart and made me feel so comfortable, very nice guy and great attitude will definitely return!

Good people, got us in late, we were walk ins about 6ish PM, out about 10:30PM with new ink. We were expecting the wait, so went down the street and ate wings during the wait. Great artwork!

Very dissatisfied. we have come several times around 8 or 9 and asked if we could do a walk in and they tell us they can’t, even though there is only one person in line. we have even called ahead of time and asked availability and they said they’d call us back but never did. if they don’t tattoo past 10:30 then they shouldn’t advertise they are open until 12. the workers at the front desk are very kind but i think the management is flawed. i totally get first come first serve but even when no one else is in line we are denied service. lots of lost business for people with a busy schedule who are happy about the one place “open till midnight”.

Went about a week ago to the apprentice Blake. He did an amazing job. The staff was super friendly and I felt very at home there. I also love love love my tattoo!!!

Paid 250 for a simple black arm piece. The artist boasted on her speed while doing the fill in. After a week of healing, there is very clear spots that were not hit with ink. There was no scabbing in the areas with no ink. Now it has been 2 months of emails and me just dropping in and she will not fix the problem. If you go here just hope you dont get Lindsay.

They took me as a walk-in and was very fast. The only complaint is I know I was overcharged for the 2 tattoos I received. The work was done wonderfully I gave no complaints about that. Just make sure you discuss pricing before the work is done.

Got a simple, high quality tattoo of my daughters name on my chest. They were busy but were great about welcoming us as customers. They were very helpful with finding me something that fits perfect.

Waited for an hour for the piercer to get there, after being told several times that he was “minutes away”. He never came. Also, if the people at Grimm actually read this, try to be a little more subtle about smoking weed at the shop. Where is the professionalism. I would only recommend this place to people I don’t like.

I have been going to Grimms for years, I got my first tattoo @ Grimm twenty years ago and a second one, and now my piercing. They are very polite and the place is clean.

Wasted 5 hours of my time here. Trash service, not only unprofessional but unhelpful. After giving them my name, number and picture of what i wanted,I waited 4 hours to get a call back, I finally called them, they said they had someone ready for me but when I showed up a cocky dude with neck tats basically said I would have to make an $50 appointment for the same tattoo they guaranteed me they could do that day, 4 hours earlier. Wes Grimm should get his shop in check. Till then, dont waste your time or money.

Nothing more than a flash art shop. Do not bring anything custom to them. Their line work is shaky and not straight. We will never go back they were very over priced for weak talent and work. Maybe better with flash art straight from a template and no shading or color saturation. That is about all their skill set can handle.

Phenomenal!!! Talked with artist Wendy and discussed a few ideas. She was very open, receptive, polite and professional. I cant wait to have her do some work on my human canvas.

Unskilled & UnsanitaryI got my first ink from Wes 29 years ago & wanted to go back to his shop for a small tattoo before we moved from KCMO.*TOTALLY Regretful Decision*There dont seem to be standards in place for safe practices or skill levels.The woman artist I worked with said shed re-draw my sketch to clean it up. However, she didnt re-draw it yet still charged me for it. I went with the design As Is and have no regrets on that, but the artists actual inkwork is unacceptable. The lines are so thick and irregular (the original sketch had fine lines) that the letters bleed into each other. The worst part? She dumped so much ink into my arm that, months later, it still looked like pissed off Puffy Paint. Ive spent the last year getting lazer treatments to remove what the technicians say is most likely contaminated ink and way too much of it.

I would most definitely be coming back mi nd my sister got this tattoo last night we was walk ins got there about 5ish was out about 8ish! I cant remember the guy that tattooed mi but I would highly recommend!

My friends were getting tatoos here both of them. I wasnt so I wasnt even allowed to sit inside or use the restroom. Even if i wasnt my ftiends were but i guess you have to spend money even if your with someone. I just feel thats bad customer service. I had to walk to walgreens and Jimmy Johns just to use the bathroom.

The staff was very friendly and patient, and the shop was clean and neat. Im very happy with the tattoo I got from Ted. He was extremely patient with me and did exactly what I wanted. I plan on visiting here again soon.

I love the shop, Wes did my tatt a few years ago & did a great job! BUT CHELSEA the receptionist & LEAH the tattoo artist are VERY rude & racist. Chelsea mugged me when I came in, as if I was some bum off the street, didnt even say hello, I got a sassy how may I help you. I had two finger tattoos done, but one on my right began to peel at the end & the ink looked invisible as if no one did anything whatsoever, & my lines were broken. I tried to explain that I understand that it was going to fade & I was concerned with the composition of only 3 of the 5 letters; but she YELLED at me in front of EVERYONE in the shop as if I was a child, Im over 23 yrs old..she may as well spat in my face and called me a n!gger, b/c thats how I felt, & what makes it so bad, I tipped her the 1st time & I was pleasant when I walked in, but Wes handled it, but Im not sure if Ill be going back.

Went for jewelry change & took my friend back for a piercing. Damon is awesome he’s very detailed & friendly is pierces to perfection.

The piercer named Daniel was super helpful. It was obvious hes all about doing the right thing when it comes to the art of peircing. Also had way better customer service than most of the food places ive been to. ... Just saying 10/10 going back

Have gotten all 8 of my tattoos from this shop and every one is beautifull and perfect. Leeuh is by far one of the best artists in kc and has done the majority of my work leaving me more than satisfied every time. Will continue to get my work from wes and Leeuh untill I no longer have the option. Love the people love the shop love the atmosphere love the work.

I called twice before coming to make sure that the piercer, Damon, would be there today. The first time, they said hed be in from 12:00 p.m. onwards, and the second time, they said from 5.00 p.m. onwards. Got there at 4.45 p.m. and waited outside till 5.45 p.m. ... never showed. No word from him at all and it didnt seem like anyone was trying to contact him. Disappointing and disrespectful. Dont see why I should try again there.

I went for Friday the 13th and while the wait was long (I showed up later in the day), they had plenty of artist to keep the process constantly moving and all of them were nice as far as I could tell!

Boo! Attitude galore. Piercer was really cool though. The main guy, or at least the guy who usually approaches you when you come in is very dismissive. Is not willing to do work or does things reluctantly when the light says open. If you dont want to do the work on a walk-in ... dont act ad if you cant be bothered. And the marijuana reeks there.

Classic olde style shop with artists and staff who know how to do you right. Started my sleeve today Ive almost waited 47yrs to do and it will be finished by the same guy. Looks can be decieving, but if you want something for the rest of your life you wont go wrong here.

I paid a good amount of money, and the tattoo doesn’t match that. I am sick about how bad it is, and not sure what to do. The shading makes no sense either. He should really tell you if he cannot do a tattoo instead of just doing it.

Went here a ways back,I picked a heavy set lady after looking at books of the work, she did a lot of toons. I showed her what I wanted. She didnt redraw my work-im not an artist- but Id let it slide, I could live with it, I cant live on the fact Im 98% sure at that time they used bad ink on me and like 3 of my friends (who we didnt know each of us got tattoed there...and by the same chick til I complained to them) some dude with a bird tryed to fight it til I showed the work and said I wanted it removed, but they talked me into free color sessions-saying itd look better. WRONG! I wont let them touch me again and im sticking with mercy seat.

Ask for one thing got another paid 250$ for a 60 dollars Tatto thought I was getting a lot more then that I came prepared with pictures and my exact idea of what I want thinking I was going to get that as I made sure to ask if he was able to do it like I want since its on my body the rest of my life got to the part I wanted and whent in checked it in the mirror it was super lopsided the shading was horrible there where straight lines randomly in there going threw my other tats I ask why is it like that and I want it changed asap he said he would, he did more then I got up looked in the mirror still not right he says I have to wait tel it heals to see whats going on witch its my 7 Tatto first one there so I know whats going on he rushes me out I dont want to pay the 250 but I did I couldnt stand what he did to my arm ruined three other of my tattoos by drawing lines that made no since right threw my other tats I came back to the shop the very next morning talking to the owner of the Bussnies to see if I would be able to get it fixed the right way he starts to be very rude just snapping on everything I have never be disrespected so much and if it was a burger like fast food I would blow it off but this is art thats on my body for the rest of my life and the way the owner and the people that work there act the place should be shut down I showed them so much respect and they took advantage of that this place is not worth your time body or money
