Revelation Tattoo

I just got my second tattoo by Jorge- both were different styles but both look great! Scheduling was easy, the artist was easy to work with and very professional. I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend anyone go to him! I’ve been to several other shops for other tattoos and this has been the best experience by far.

Had a Great time getting tattooed not only once but TWICE from Shawn in a span of a week. He’s fast, has great line work & shading, and has a keen eye to detail. Nichole was wonderful in greeting not only me, but others that came into the shop. It was quite busy when I came in, and she did a great job at attending to everyone in the shop. I can tell she is very good at multitasking and is very personable to everyone that comes in. She really makes people feel comfortable while in the shop. And it shows. I had a fantastic time getting to know not only Shawn but Nichole as well. I will definitely be coming back for more tattoos in the future.

I’ve been going to Beth for a while and I’ve got so many great piercings and I’m in love! Piercings are therapy for me. She always does such a great job! I’ve never had any bad experiences! She’s always super sweet and professional! She has beautiful jewelry and always makes sure her clients are happy with their piercings! I definitely will be going back again!

Clint is the man to see here! I made an appointment with Clint to get my first tattoo after seeing some work he did for a friend of mine. Making the appointment was easy and Clint was able to get me in less than a week after I reached out. The day of my appointment I was immediately greeted by a different artist as soon as I walked in, who then went and let Clint know that I was there. Clint dropped what he was doing, came up to the front, and shook my hand with a smile on his face. All in all a very welcoming atmosphere.Clint absolutely nailed the stencil (and placement) and had drawn up exactly what I was imagining. The tattoo process was enjoyable, outside of the pain, which was minimal. After Clint had finished the line work on my tattoo he asked me what I was thinking in terms of shading; I told him I wasn’t quite sure but I trusted him with whatever he was imagining as I had seen a lot of his work on instagram. And I’m so glad I made that decision! The tattoo turned out 100X better than I could’ve imagined. Clint even got excited for me halfway through the shading, You can tell he really takes pride in the work that he does! Once the tattoo was finished I was absolutely blown away with the results and the attention to detail!When it came time to pay I tried to get cash from the ATM that they had in shop. However, my card was declined due to my bank flagging it a fraud. Clint told me “no problem you can just run to your bank, I’ll be here.” I personally thought that was not only trusting but extremely kind of him. If I was in his shoes I’m not sure how apt I would be to let someone who owed me a nice chunk of change drive away to their bank.All in all my first tattoo was a great experience, and I owe all my thanks to Clint for making it happen. I know exactly who I’ll be seeing for any future work I want to have done!

My best friend Jessica and I got matching tattoos today (12/16/23). Jessica got her tattoo on her ribs. I got mine on the back of my left arm. I personally want to give a shout out to Revelation Tattoo as their customer service was above amazing. Revelation tattoo is clean, organized, and the staff is extremely welcoming. Though I was nervous, due to it being my first tattoo the gentlemen there were very comforting. My tattoo artist in particular (RHETT JOHNSON) deserves to be applauded for his kindness, customer service, along with many of other positive remarks. I am already ready to come back for another tattoo. Though I live in Kansas, I have to say that it will certainly be worth the trip to come back to Revelation Tattoo. To the staff that was there tonight thank you for making the environment so welcoming. A special thank you to Mr. RHETT JOHNSON for making this a very positive experience. I hope to have you again the next time I come back.

I’m not prone to leaving Google reviews (this is my first one), so that should say something. I’m in the process of getting a sleeve with Jeff Seeds, and after having my second session with him today, I’ve sat here looking at my tattoo for quite some time thinking about how unbelievable his talent is. He took the rough ideas I had and transformed them into something better than I could’ve ever pictured. The amount of time and detail he puts into each piece is ridiculous. As for the other staff at Revelation, both of my sessions with Jeff were 8 hours so I had quite a bit of sitting around time to witness how the other artists interact with customers as they come in. Every single artist in there was extremely kind and respectful to every person that stepped foot inside their building. Revelation Tattoo has created a great environment with great staff and I couldn’t recommend them enough to anybody that’s looking for their next tattoo.

I got a tattoo from Rett over 2 weeks ago, and it still hasn’t fully healed. For a week after the tattoo I had horrible bruising, so it didn’t come as a surprise that the tattoo got a blowout. This was my 11th tattoo, and I’ve never had an experience like this with healing. I’ve never once bruised or had a tattoo blowout. After an experience like this, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. This morning there was a big scab on the tattoo, and that scab ripped off, leaving me with a big gash in the middle of my tattoo. I’ve never had a tattoo doing anything like this before. My dad also got the same tattoo by the same artist, and even my dad said Rett was way too heavy handed.

Ive known these fellas almost 30 years. Top notch work done. A lot of Japanese style but custom work and your usual swag on the walls. John Monk the owner is a stellar guy. My artist is Brent Wilhelmi. Stop in and say hi to the guys!

I absolutely love Revelation Tattoo. It’s always a good experience and I am always happy with the results. All 8 of my tattoos have been done by Dennis Stone and he is absolutely incredible and amazes me every time. I recommend this place to EVERYONE.

Alright, I know everyone thinks their tattoo artist is the best and they wouldn’t change their artist, I will totally agree with you! However, at Revelations, it’s not just my tattoo artist, everyone of them are equally as good as mine. Not only with their styles of art but with their personalities and the fact that they treat their clients like family and friends! So, if you go there and you can’t get a walk in right then, I promise you it is worth making the appointment even with the deposit if needed. My girl Charlie has done two incredible pieces on me in the last two weeks, one of which, was a massive coverup on my forearm. John is probably one of the realist and coolest owners of tattoo shops that I have ever met. Once Charlie finishes my sleeve I will definitely be going back for more from revelations! Some people may say “but they are pricey.” First off any tattoo worth a damn should cost you because it’s permanent!!!! But at Revelations it is most definitely worth the cost! Coolest group of people I have met in awhile with the best ink I’ve ever had! Thank you John, Charlie, Jeff, Brandy and all the rest of you there. I absolutely give them all 10 plus stars hands down! I’ve shared pictures and let me be clear the writing is what Charlie covered up.

Wait was a bit long but i realized when i got to beth that she really connects with you and takes time to make sure you’re comfortable with the markings and that everything is set. had a great conversation with her too! it felt like we were friends and i felt very comfortable. 10/10 i will definitely come back to see her!

Came here to get a tattoo and they were great! Music is great, people are super friendly. Tattoo didn’t hurt all too much. Rico I believe was the one to tattoo me was super light handed which made the experience all that more enjoyable. All in all even with a lobby full and almost every artist being busy I was able to get in and out within about 45 minutes. If I could give 10 stars I would. 10/10.

I went in the shop to schedule an appointment. Jorge was able to get me in just a few days! He was amazing!! Worked with my ideal for the piece and gave great suggestions to it also. Day of appointment came in and got straight to it!! Jorge did a great job on my piece and I would recommend him to anyone and the Revelation shop.

Dennis Stone is a jerk! Note: I have a tattoo from this place, and I know John from when I was a kid. They did a great job in the past, and whoever I talked to on the phone twice this week was fantastic. But Dennis Stone is a JERK! Its a shame that one person can ruin the entire vibe and turn away $400 in business. Buh-byeee! Off to the other place where we were welcomed, got what we wanted, and had a great time.

Best tattoo/piercing shop in the KC area, everyone is so kind and respectful. You feel welcomed as soon as you come in, but they do get pretty busy considering it is the best place to go. Beth does all my piercings and I refuse to goto anyone else because she has the most professional and loving attitude.

Always have a great experience here. The people are fantastic, go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, and the exceptional art work is a plus. 100% recommend to anyone wanting some ink.

Easy process, they accept walk-ins for basic work... Very satisfied with quality of work, ease of getting work done, pricing is very reasonable, staff is experienced/ skilled and talented... my tattoo artist was Shawn.. Some waiting but it went by pretty quickly, Ive waited longer to get my nails done before.

This is the only place I will get any piercings. Beth is the most professional and cleanliness piercer. She used great quality of jewelry and she’s always so kind. I never had an issue with any of my piercings with her. She is truly Awesome!!!

Love this place more then words can describe. Walked in to get something small on my arm in August last year, now I have a full sleeve and a chest plate, Jeff Seeds has done all my work and it’s amazing. John Monk and everyone I’ve met or talked with at the shop is extremely friendly, multiple people i work with have gone to this shop for tattoos and piercings and it’s always turned out to be a positive experience. If your looking for any type of tattoo or piercing in Kansas or Missouri I always recommend this place.

I got my upper arm done by Jorge at Revelation and Im so impressed. Everything about the shop and other people was great too, but Jorge took what I wanted and really delivered. Ive wanted to start this sleeve since I was 12, and Ive started with such a beautiful piece. I will be coming back to finish out my arm.

I had a wonderful experience here; Clint was Fantastic at all that he did! Besides being incredibly kind and considerate, he helped create a tattoo for me that is beautiful and feminine and even Better than I had visualized. He also paid great attention to detail, re-transferring part of the design three times to make sure it was placed symmetrically with my collarbone. I highly recommend- and look out for Clint Herdman, an awesome person and skilled artist!

Clean establishment. The people are so nice and willing to listen to your ideas. Surprisingly fast and the design is amazing! I worked with Kayla. She was fantastic. They were having a walk in tattoo day. We called ahead of time were given no useful information even though my fiance described what I wanted they said they could try but no promises as they were closing in a few hours. Which was fine. So, I went in, got no help and stood there being glared at by an entire shop full of artists/clients for about 8 minutes before a woman came up to me to talk. Very unwelcoming atmosphere. I described what I wanted a black and grey sternum tattoo a small bat or phases of the moon. I showed her several reference photos that were all big but I was willing to down size and cut details which I told her. I was told I wasnt being specific enough. She made me feel stupid and embarrassed. Finally after another like 10 minutes of standing there she looked for an artist who wasnt busy and willing to do it. She went up to a guy tattooing another guy who proceeded to laugh at me. As if I didnt already feel humiliated enough the client and her laughed while looking at me too. She never even game me an estimate which I asked about SEVERAL times. I am already tattooed on my thigh and this was the coldest, most unwelcoming experience of my life. She finally came back and told me Id have to make an appointment instead. And wanted me to plan something RIGHT THEN. I will never be back in this exclusive most gate keeping shop I have ever been in. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy.

My wife and I stopped in both as walk ins, for tattoos to represent our children. Wife got their birth month flowers in her arms and I got roman numerals on each wrist for their birthday dates. Minor wait time.Kayla was our artist. She was nice, got us drawn up exactly what we wanted and knocked them out in no time. Very affordable and friendly. Will for sure be back in the future for large work based on our experiences. Was a please experience for sure.

I wanted to leave a review and say Revelation Tattoo is my favorite tattoo shop not only because of all of the incredibly talented artists that can make any vision come to life but all of their artist as people make me feel so welcomed and they care about making sure the piece they are putting on your body is to its best ability! Love this place! I have gotten a couple of tattoos here and we have been here frequently to get piercings! Beth does great piercings and consistently provides detailed info on after care of all piercings. Prices here are reasonable with sterile techniques being used for tats/piercings as you would assume. If you need a good and reliable place for tats or piercings look this shop up! There can be a wait for piercings since appointments are not provided. When I got my tattoos I just walked in so not sure if appointments can be made.

Took my daughter here to get her ears pierced. It was a bit of a wait, since we went on a Saturday. The people were so nice. Beth was amazing! This place was so incredibly clean, I couldnt get over it. I didnt expect it to be dirty or gross...it was just SO CLEAN and smelled so clean. I loved it! Made me feel very comfortable.

Ben M has been phenomenal with all my ideas he made possible. Beth is an amazing piercer and you won’t find someone else around that is more knowledgeable and accepting than her! I could not have asked for a better experience. From the time you walk in you are greeted to the time whatever service you have done is complete, you are taken care of. I tell everyone I know this is the best shop around.

Definitely was not impressed with the customer service we received today!I called 2 weeks prior to make my daughter a tattoo appointment for her 16th birthday! I was told to just do a walk-in since it would only be an hour. We get there & then was told we had a couple ahead of us which was no big deal, but the way that dude responded was completely rude! I explained we had a dinner reservation at 6pm so I wasn’t sure if they’d have time. Might I add it was about 3-4 hours before our reservation. He responds with “I’m not gonna rush through a tattoo for just an hour tattoo!” Then tells me I should just make an appointment! I was so pist! Thanks for ruining my daughters 16th birthday! This place is a complete joke for a business!

Beth has been doing my piercing for years. I love all of them and she does a great job making me feel comfortable along the way. She also gives me great tips on how to keep them clean and my piercings have never gotten infected. I’ll always go to her.

I have never had a bad experience at Revelations. I have gotten multiple tattoos and two piercings done here and have loved every single one. Ben is the person I see for tattoos and he is super nice and friendly and my tattoos always come out better than what I expect. I have been to 5 different tattoo shops and Revelations is the one I recommend and will keep coming back to. Beth did one of my two piercings and she was so caring and really took the time to individualize my experience. I cannot take enough good things about Revelations.

I have not gotten a tattoo here yet, but I love it! Beth, the piercer is very professional but also kind! I got my seconds and cartilage (on my ear) pierced first and it was a great experience! I just went back in today to get my septum done and switch out my cartilage jewelry and I’m very pleased! She is clean and professional and talked me through needle anxieties! She offers high quality jewelry and I haven’t had any issues (I have sensitive skin and a nickel allergy)! Overall, great place and I do plan to go back!

I will always go to Charlie (@charliegrrl on insta)for my tattoos this girl is amazing!! She’s been great in helping plan out the vision I have for my tattoos and sleeve. She even touched up a previous tattoo and made it look way more clean and better than when I first got it.

This review is for Beth specifically not the shop itself. I want to say I was SO nervous to get my bridge pierced. I was nervous it wouldn’t look good on me. I was nervous it’d wind up being crooked or in a weird spot because , in my option, it’s an easy piercing to goof up. Beth absolutely killed it. The placement on my face is STUNNING. She really took my features into account. It’s also as straight as if she’d used a tiny level. She was fast, professional, clean, friendly, AND reasonably priced. 12/10, I will absolutely be back. The shop itself is also really nice. My only word to the wise is that I personally found it more chaotic of an environment that I would seek out to be tattooed or pierced in. It was very busy and crowded. As someone who is neurodivergent, it was admittedly a little overwhelming/over stimulating. That being said all the staff seemed friendly and professional and the shop seemed clean. It’s not an unsafe or bad place to get work done but if you’re someone with anxiety or autism or ADHD just maybe be prepared to feel a little uncomfortable about the environment.

Horrid ServiceWanted to see about getting a piercing. Tried to call for about 2 hours, their phone wasn’t working. I get an hour lunch I figured no biggie I’ll just swing by there on lunch, walked in. Stood there for about 5 minutes before anyone even said a simple “Hey” or acknowledge I was there. I said I’ve been trying to call you to the lady who helped me she “Said doesn’t really matter, can I help you?” I still was willing to give them my money but after she said she didn’t like my cross that I was wearing she didn’t want to help me I left. Will never go here for anything or recommend anybody else go there. You want a good service go to A1 tattoos

Beau has done 6 of my tattoos now, and the experience here is amazing. Great people, great art, and calm but busy feel. they also do minor tattoo/piercing with a parent, which is a plus. I definitely recommend coming here and asking for Beau

I would recommend Revelation Tattoo to anyone. They were a recommendation to me and I see why. The staff was awesome, the shop was clean and they did an awesome job. We had 3 people in our group and each one received an excellent quality tattoo. Special mention to Rhett who drew my piece and with this being my first tattoo I am 100% satisfied with the whole experience.

I’ve gotten tattoos from here before and I love them a lot. They are great quality and they still haven’t faded after a year or two of having them done. I just got a piercing today from Beth and I’m definitely going to come back to get more. She is such a professional.

I got my first tattoo ever here on a walk-in day, done by Beau. Had to wait a while (the place was packed, get there EARLY) but it was absolutely worth it. Beau was great. He took my reference photo and replicated it perfectly. Im really happy with the placement and the tattoo itself. Ill definitely be coming back here for my next one.

John Monk and his staff are the best in the business! Our whole family goes up there for all of our tattoos, even though we moved 3 hours away, we still drive all the way up to KC and its worth the drive! Just finished my third session on a leg tattoo by John Monk and my man got his lower sleeve finished today by Chris Ahlers. Very nice and clean shop, very professional. We highly recommend Revelation Tattoo!

Awesome place. I read the negative 1 star reviews and this place is not like what they are describing at all. I had no issue here. Went in the day before kinda late and couldnt get my piercing done but did get to talk to someone about some tattoo ideas. Came back the next day, filled out the paperwork, not 5 minutes later I got my septum pierced. :)They were quick, friendly, professional, and clean!

Ive been getting tattooed for almost 20 years in KC. Over the years I had heard of Revelation time and time again. Im glad I finally decided to stop in! At first glance the inside of the shop was impressive!!! Floor to ceiling art work all painted by the artist, I knew I was in the right place!!! Ive been tattooed by multiple artists at the shop and every tattooer exceeded my expectations!! Im currently having a body suit completed by the owner and couldnt be happier to have my body adorned with ink by the best tattoers in Kansas City!!!

I can’t speak on behalf of the tattoo artists. However, for their piercer beth!!! she was WONDERFUL. I got my nipples pierced today and of course I was extremely nervous for this type of piercing. She was so kind, patient, and easy to talk to. She helped me through and was so professional. She did so well I didn’t even think the piercing hurt at all. I will go to her for now on for any piercing needed.

I was looking to get my nose pierced and I had a horrible experience with the shop down the street so I was driving down N. Oak Tfwy to find another place. I walked into Revelation Tattoo and I was greeted within a reasonable amount of time. It was very clean and organized. Beth came up promptly and had me fill out a consent form. She was very pleasant and friendly. It only took her about 3-5 minutes to get ready for me before she brought me back. I told her I was nervous because it was my first piercing. Beth reassured me that I had no reason to be scared. She had a very calming personality. It went by so quickly I almost didnt realize what was goin on! Long story short... I thanked her for being so professional and told her that Id be back with my husband for some tattoos. I always rate positive experiences. Hopefully my next experience with this place will be just as good this one.

Spontaneous tattoo...I had pretty much no wait time except to figure out my design and for Ben to draw it up. It was a Friday afternoon about 3ish and there were 3 girls ahead of me for the same artist and a few in the seats already. Within the hour of me getting my tattoo the whole lobby was full... Thats a good thing! Ive been there before and the service was great, from the girl getting us all lined up to the actual work being done. This time there were different people in there but the service was still great! My tattoo seemed a little pricey BUT good work dont come cheap... I walked away completely happy with the experience! Revelation Tattoo is the best! My daughter and I just got matching tattoos and had a great experience. This was my third tattoo from Revelation, second from John Monk. I have also had a piercing done by Beth, who is helpful and professional. The shop is always clean, and all the artists are friendly and extremely talented, so you won’t go wrong with any of them. Customers who are relaxed and friendly are greeted and treated in the same manner. I highly recommend this shop.

I love their work. Went there for my first tattoo & they were very nice & helpful. I also went & saw Melissa a few years ago for my belly button piercing & she was amazing! She made me feel so comfortable when I was so nervous. I heard she passed away a few months ago :(. She was such a sweet lady. The only thing I didn’t like were the prices. I felt like it was over priced.

Beth and I have a very long professional relationship going all the way back to 2002 when she was at Irezumi. We drive from Overland Park to see her and honestly would go to the end of the earth if it meant my appointment was with Beth. She has designed both of my ears in such a unique way, non-stop compliments. I have three nostril piercings that Beth did flawlessly with zero healing complications. Not only do I adore her as a person, we’ve become friends over 20 years, I just really like her work ethic, too. When she’s going to pierce you, worry not, she’ll make it as painless and quick as possible. She knows all the tips and tricks! You’re in good hands!

My sister & I stopped in earlier in the day from when we got them done & was helped with getting an idea very quickly. We found that we were able to get what we wanted that day. I had previous obligations for a couple hours which was why we didnt start right away. When we came back, we didnt wait too long before we were both with artists, who had been working on/finishing up on other patrons. She had a touch up & a new one tattoo done by Rhett. She was super pleased by his work. I got two new ones on the same arm by Ben. I loved the draw up & work done on me. Definitely plan to get future tattoos done here.

Went with my mother (whos in her 60s) to get her ears pierced - we had a GREAT experience! I honestly thought theyd look at us like we were totally out of place, but were very welcoming. The woman who did the piercings was top notch - very personable. I would highly recommend this place!

Clint was my artist and he was amazing! He did a wonderful job on my tattoo and made sure to ask how I liked my tattoo as he was doing it. One of the women working there sat and talked with me to calm my nerves, it was such good service!

Love it here!! I went with 3 others and we all got our piercings done super fast. Everyone was super friendly and made sure to show me the new sterilized needles before piercing. 100% recommend

I came in to do a septum piercing earlier today. It went really well, everything was nice and sanitized, and the lady was super nice. Im only giving 4 stars (4.5 if I could) because my septum is slightly crooked and just barely too far up for me to flip up. You cant tell its slanted unless youre staring up my nose.... Which..... If youre doing so, why, lmao. Id go again! Id like to see jewelry options in the future!

The environment in this place is amazing. Every artist there is so friendly, great conversation and great music. John Monk keeps this place SPOTLESS. I am a nurse, so I notice things like that. Jeff Seeds does phenomenal work, and I havent seen a tattoo walk out of that place that was anything less than amazing. I cant wait to get back in for more!

Ive been going to Revelation for years (mostly for piercings) & as far as that goes theyve always been professional and courteous. However, my sister & I went in to make a tattoo appointment last week for us and our mom and the fellow at the front made us believe we didnt need an appointment at all (he believed it to be a simple tattoo) and instructed us to come in early either Friday or saturday morning. We came in Saturday just after noon and everyone acted like we were an annoyance. The drawing was done and the same guy who said we wouldnt need an appointment had an appointment at 2. He pushed back his appointment an hour to do my sister and my mom but wanted me to come in again the next day instead. This was supposed to be a thing we did together and so I wanted it done that day. He told us to come back at 5:30 to give him ample time to finish his appointment. We arrived at 5:15 and werent even ACKNOWLEDGED until 6:30.For anyone who doesnt want to read that whole story, basically their customer service is SEVERELY LACKING. But their artwork is AMAZING and I am happy with the actual tattoo, so Im giving them an extra star. If your time is worth anything, though, Id go somewhere else. There are people who will take your business more seriously elsewhere. I will not be returning.

Beth was a wonderful piercer!!! Went in to get a piercing and she made myself and friends feel so comfortable. She made it quick and painless! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone who wants a piercing. She answered all our questions and was extremely Informative on how to take care of each of our individual piercings.

I got two upper helix piercings on each ear from Beth and she is absolutely the best. She talks you through it, recommends placing and is so patient and professional. I will be going back to get more!

I needed to have some piercings taken out, for school. Pretty simple. Beth was fantastic. It was a simple request & I knew she was busy but I appreciated the short time she took with me. Ill definitely be going back to have her put them back in.

I went in here not knowing what to expect after booking an appointment with John , I needed an extremely needed cover up and man did this guy not fail to impress me . I’ve never been to an actual tattoo shop before this experience and I don’t think I will choose any other tattoo shop in the northland after how real this guy is ! My boyfriend and I went in to each get a tattoo and had the best experience. We walked in and sat at the table in the waiting area and started filling out paper work. (Walk in- no appointment) We were greeted and helped quickly and the artists were all super cool and nice. A girl named Shelly did both of our tattoos and she did an AMAZING job. This was the first for both of us and she was extremely gentle and considerate. She kept making sure we were doing alright and really focused on each of our tattoos. She took the time to get a good idea of what we each wanted, we showed her a few pics and she came up with the perfect designs for each of us. She triple checked to make sure everything was perfect before she did anything else which really put me at ease! She made sure the placement and size was exactly where and what we wanted. The environment was very clean and comfortable. She made sure to deep clean everything before starting my boyfriends tattoo after she finished mine. Overall, our tattoos turned out better than we even imagined theyd be! We are both so happy and will definitely come back if we get more. She told us how to take care of them, everything you needed to know. She also gave us her card and told us to call her if we had any questions and reassured us that no question was a stupid question. :) the morning after getting it done it did not hurt at all and was barley even red! I showed my friends at work and they didnt even believe that it was brand new because it looked so good! If youre getting your first tattoo, second tattoo, or hundredth tattoo.. Definitely go here!! And ask for Shelly if shes available!!! Great experience, and GORGEOUS tattoos. So so happy with it all! Thanks so much Shelly!!!

Called in and the helpful lady at the front desk helped me schedule an appointment. Came in and got my first tattoo and it was an incredible experience. I had an idea of what I wanted but they helped me design it and I love it. They were very accommodating and helpful through the whole process. Will be coming back for my next tattoo!

When I find something good I stick with it, which is why Ive been going to the same place for my piercings for the last ten years. But over the weekend I had to try a new place. And I must say I really enjoyed my experience at Revelation Tattoo. Mellisa was great! The prices were great and she gave me great info that helped me come to a decision on what I wanted. I have experienced getting a Dermal Anchor before but I like her technique MUUUCH better. There was less pain because she was so fast. :) She made me and my friends feel very comfortable. Shes a pro with a great smile. I definitely found my new place. I LOVE my new piercing. Cant wait to go back and get more done.

Beth is the best piercer in KC. Ive been having her do my piercings for over 15 years and wont let anyone else pierce me.Ive sent several people to her and not one has been dissatisfied!

I received piercings there for migraines 2 years ago and its been a completely amazing turn around for them. The place is clean and sterile & Beth was extremely nice, helpful and educated about it. Ive had migraines for over 20 years and this is the best money Ive ever spent. I still get headaches once in a while, but they are nothing like what my migraines used to be, and they arent near as often anymore. BEST MONEY IVE EVER SPENT!!!!

My wife and I came in trying to get a couple last minute tattoos. We called and they said do walk ins on the weekends. PERFECT! We went in and they were very helpful considering we didnt have a full understanding of what we really wanted. Fair price and kickass tattoos!

Great atmosphere & people. Beth did an excellent job with piercings. All 3 people who were pierced were as comfortable as they could be before have a needle shoved through their skin, Beth gave excellent after-care instruction & everyone is healing great.

I went in for a touch up on a tattoo and to have some lines thickened. I spent $80 getting this done. Thats how much it cost originally. 🙄 I was sat in a chair after waiting 45min and the person doing the touch up didnt talk to me the entire time. He was talking to someone else, made no attempt to make me feel welcome at all. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for personal touches. It felt like they wanted to take my money and kick me out

Was really wonderful! He had a really crisp lines and beautiful coloring to the tattoo. Not to mention beau is super friendly and it was a really nice atmosphere. While I am very happy with my tattoo and it turned out great. I will not return to the artist that did my tattoo. I walked in and was quickly waited on by a nice young lady. Told her what I wanted and when she asked which artist was up none were quick to jump at the opportunity for work. Finally after a few awkward seconds a man walks up. What do you want? Not Hi, my name is... What are you looking to get... Nothing. Didnt tell a price until about to touch me with the machine. At this point I am committed. I would love to come back and maybe try a new artist. If you want good work with little to be desired personality, Ben is your guy!

I called before I went in to get my first tattoo and was given very little information about everything. I did a walk in but was helped very quickly.My artist (Jessie) did not introduce himself, did not try to start a conversation, I did not feel welcome, I wasn’t even given a price or quote until the tattoo was finished and already on my skin. I expressed my idea, and the artist sighed, rolled his eyes, put his head down, and got an attitude. I was basically told that because of my age and generation that it was dumb and probably just “gotten off of pinterest” even tho It was something very meaningful to me. (and I didn’t even show a picture I brought in a paper with a family members writing on it). I asked the artists opinion on placement and appearance and all I got was a “I already told you what i think and i’ve been doing this for 30 years, but just tell me what you want and i’ll do it”. I told him it was my first tattoo and he said “Just don’t move, that’s all I have to tell you.” I was shocked and felt so disrespected.The tattoo process was quick but I had no idea what was happening the entire time due to absolutely no communication.My tattoo was not even an inch by an inch and I was charged $80.Honest and truthfully, I didn’t even get what I originally wanted because he made me feel stupid and that what I wanted was dumb and that I would regret it, but what I regret listening to him.I don’t usually write reviews, but I am so unhappy and will not be returning to that artist or maybe even for another tattoo.I read other reviews and other people had similar experiences, and it’s just disappointing because I had very high hopes and was not expecting such terrible service.Thank you for your time Jessie but I was not impressed.

I moved to kc 4 years ago and I searched for quite some time to find the perfect artist to do my sleeve. After awhile I kept hearing about an artist named John monk. I went to the shop and was greeted by none other then the monk himself, he sat down with me and was very professional in helping me layout everything I wanted to do, I was also very impressed by the cleanliness and amazing layout of the shop. John monk not only has became my tattoo artist but a great friend as well. My tattoos are of amazing quality!!!! Went there a week ago and shown them a picture of a large tattoo I wanted on my shoulder. They told me because of the size it needed to be an appointment only tattoo which is understandable. I called later in the week attempting to make an appointment to have it done. Weekends worked best for me and I asked for an appointment on Saturday. Receptionist told me they only do walk ins on the weekends. So there was a smaller one I wanted and went in today (August 1) after Driving over two 2 hours to get there. Showed the receptionist what tattoo it was that I was wanting. Everything seemed ok after I showed them what I wanted and told us it would be about a 45 minute wait. So we waited for 2 1/2 hours before they could get to us. When they did get to us the artist came out to look at what it was that I was wanting. He said that the tattoo I was wanting he did not have time to do that day because he had an appointment at 4 and another at 5. This was pretty confusing and aggravating to me as they said they did not take appointments on the weekends when I had inquired about making one. So I guess it just depends on who you are if you can get or need an appointment on the weekends?? If I would have known all this from the beginning that it was too much for them to do I would have picked something else as there were several other tattoos I was wanting. Guess it just boils down to who you are and how good your money is, then maybe you can get what you want from them. Extremely unprofessional environment and even worse communication. Definitely will not return.

I set up an appointment with Jorge and brought in the reference pic. I told him I wasnt sure how well it would turn out as a tattoo since its all lines. I was especially worried how the ravens eye would turn out. I think Jorge blew my expectations out of the water. I will definitely be booking my next tattoo with him.

I went here for my first tattoo, which I got on my ribs. I had excellent service, Brent did an excellent job on my tattoo and made sure to take into consideration it was my first. They were all very friendly and my tattoo looks wonderful because of the design, work and explaining to me how I could make sure it looks its best! Great job!

Terrible place! Be careful! I explained it was my first tattoo. First he did the tattoo wrong, it was a grammar symbol and he flipped it backwords, so he had to redo it and make it much bigger to fix it. I was given no instructions just to wash it a lot for the next 3 days so I did that, when the scarring started I pealed it not knowing that was bad. When I asked for a touch up he said it would be free only if I get a second 100$ tattoo (tattoo is about the size of a penny). So I made the appointment and came back, however, he no showed and some other guy offered to do it. He seemed very upset and did a quick mess of a tattoo with holes. I need a touch up for both now.

Beth did my 3rd cartilage piercing. She was so nice, clean, and professional. She even took out one of my old piercing that I couldn’t get out myself so I could put a new one in. Thank you Beth, I’ll be back for more piercings! :-)

WRONG...Artist Rhett took care of this mess on my arm and did it better than I originally wanted when I got it. Quick and easy experience. Salon was clean and staff were super friendly. Went to get my cartilage pierced and everything was pre-packaged in sterile bags. Would go back for any future piercings!

Might be great for tattoos but do not get a piercing. My sister and I went and had our ears pierced in April and by August after not healing and even changing the jewelry she took hers out. Mine has never healed no matter what I did. I haven’t slept on my ear in almost a year, I even changed the jewelry. When I went in to my local parlor they said that it was odd it had not healed yet. After looking at the area and the jewelry he stated that the jewelry had been less quality than he’d originally thought just by glance and then once he changed the jewelry he stated the position was a little different so it may be in a way that it just won’t heal. I didn’t think so at the time so I kept with it. I finally found out a few weeks ago that my sister took hers out since it wouldn’t heal either (she didn’t want to tell me) so after everything the local parlor told me to do and it didn’t help, I finally decided to take the jewelry out. (I had to have the same gentleman remove it since I was not able to do so). It was a waste of a year full of torture. I really wanted to keep the piercing.

My artist was nice and made me feel comfortable getting my first tattoo but I feel like I got ripped off. My tattoo is maybe quarter sized at the most and I was overcharged. It looked good the first month but quickly faded. I went in for a free touch up and it is still fadded looking. Ive had this tattoo for less than 6 months. The black is not filled in all the way either. I feel very disappointed in the quality.

Always profession, clean, outstanding work. Ive gotten black and whites and color tats here. Reasonably priced. The shop is spacious and welcoming. Artists work with you to get what you want. Highly recommend.

I got my ears priced by Beth she was super nice and every one seemed to be my only thing was that there were 3 others people in the pricing part of the store that were hanging out there it could have been a one time thing but it was a little weird and there website needs to be updated other then that it was a great experience

I go here for almost all of my piercings and plan to go for tattoos in the future. Melissa is super friendly and helps her customers out. She even gave me a ball for my labret piercing when it fell off, free of charge, and she didnt even pierce it!Check them out!

I love it hear. my boyfriend had got two tattoos from A-1 tattoo, and both of them got infected. It was time for a new shop. We went here, and he has had tattoos done by brent, I believe chris, and Beau. My first back tattoo was done by beau and I have never been more pleased. Ever since then, I love that shop. I got my second tattoo done by him also. they do amazing work. Every one is very friendly especially Katie.John Munk is awesome. very down to earth guy. he doesnt care what anyone else thinks about him, and he gives you great advice. I love him, and I love it here. not your typical tattoo shop.! Highly recommended.

Ben is an amazing artist and fixed a tattoo I never thought I could get covered up without laser tattoo removal!He’s not all the way done yet but he did an amazing job so far and from the outline I know the rest will be amazing too..Kevin cracks me up he seems to be pretty awesome too !John is funny too.. (don’t call n ask him how much it will cost you .. just go in)!Best tattoo shop I’ve been to yet & I don’t even review places anywhere but This place definitely deserved it!Although I do think they should upgrade their shop into personal rooms or maybe a. Big mirror in between the customer sitting place n the tattooing room at least for certain occasions cuz everyone kept asking Ben when he would be done n able to do something else .. he’s amazing but he kan only do one thing at a time ! Just a thought not one bad thing to say about this place!

Girls when you get your 4th all done. Note they dont provide you ;ear piercings saline wash. You gotta go to Wal-Mart or cvs / Walgreen for it.Total of all my piercings is $205I got dimonds and gold ring

Went in with my friend to get her nose pierced and Melissa was so nice and professional. Im thinking about getting a rook piercing so I asked her a lot of questions about it and she was super nice and helpful! Would definitely recommend and will be back to get my rook pierced!

Came into the shop for a tattoo a couple days ago! Ben did my and and a great job! Everyone else was friendly and the shop itself was pristine. Definitely going back for my next one!

I went in March of 2016 to get my nostril pierced. I let her know that I was interested in having a hoop eventually and she talked me into a way too low piercing that didnt fit any hoops. On top of that I was pierced at an up angle so now after spending almost a year with my piercing I have to restart the whole process. She also peirced me with a stud with a ball that has caused a great amount of damage to my nose. Not happy with my service at all.

I have been in shops all over the country. Ive known John for a few years, and have to say He has a phenomenal shop...Kevin who worked on my back is a creative genius and is dedicated to His profession....will have several more pieces done by Kevin there in the very new future. I recommend this shop to anyone if you want excellent work and a great staff!!!
