Cesar is so great. Clean, chill environment. He was super helpful with the healing process and took great attention to detail. Couldnt be happier with his work and the all around experience. I will be coming back thats for sure.

Brett is amazing and does excellent work! He has tattooed almost our whole adult family! Im adding photos of just some of his work.

This is it, they have an excellent and highly creative group here. Will return time and time again…. Plus, you can watch Star Wars while you’re there. It’s pretty kick butt.

Best tattoo experience Ive ever had. They answer the phone, they work with you to make a design fit for you, the environment is extremely(!) clean and welcoming. I loved all the TVs around the place and didnt feel like I had to stay quiet OR that I had to keep up a conversation. This will be my forever tattoo go-to. I saw John Paul Redman. Oh, and you dont have to park on the street either. Love this place.

You guys this is the place to be! Cesar is AWESOME. I think i called in the day before or same day and let them know that I wanted another head piece. They were prompt, professional, and fairly priced. I’m so happy with the work done and he has been available every step of the way during my healing. 10/10

I had a tattoo done here awhile back (blue star) I wasnt happy with it. I let the shop know and they got me in to get it covered up at a great price! Brett went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and happy. Cant wait to get back in again to get more ink!

Called in to the shop asked about walk-ins...I was trying to get my brothers tatto shop cherry popped! Joe came through and gave him the best experience I ended up getting 1 myself! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TATTO SHOP..IF YOUR A STAR WARS NERD THIS IS THE PPACE TO BE!!!

This shop was great. I LOVE the Star Wars theme, and Joe worked out the perfect design for my tattoo. It will forever be my favorite tattoo and I will no longer go anywhere else for tattoos but here! I have many tattoos and have had experiences with multiple other shops; this one has a great atmosphere and great people. Highly recommend!!

My son and I went here to get matching tattoos for his 18th birthday. Mine tattoo was done by JP, and his was done by Joe. I am so glad I decided to go here after many people that I worked with recommended it. It was a clean environment, and they were professional, nice, and knowledgeable. Joe went over what to expect during and after getting a tattoo for my son as it was his first two tattoos (we got matching ones and then he got another one). I am definitely planning another tattoo, and I will be going back there! Yeah!!

I got my first tattoo done here. The guy was very nice and talked me through the whole process. Always was checking to see if I was comfortable and if I needed a break before he moved on to a new section. The healing process was also very easy( gave me instructions to take home). Pricing was very reasonable too. Definitely going back to get any future works done!

We had THE best experience with Jen! I was looking for a place to take my teenage daughter to for a nose piercing... after being totally turned off by the extreme rudeness at another shop I called Waldo Darkside & after speaking with Jen on the phone I felt she’d do a great job. She was even better in person... she was so inviting & really made my daughter feel comfortable. Jen even gave a lot of extra attention & time to her. Also all several of the other staff were there & were all very friendly. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks Jen!

I highly recommend this place! Jen did my piercing, and she is amazing! Jen was super friendly and helpful. Everything was sterile and clean, straight from the package. I did not ever catch the name of her assistant, but they were both really great and easy to work with. I’ll definitely be returning!

The owner, JP, is a fantastic tattoo artist. The shop is always very clean and everyone there is very professional while still making the process a fun experience. They are all knowledgeable and informative, making sure you always know exactly where you are in the process and what is going to happen. I will never get a tattoo anywhere else!

Top notch establishment. All of the staff are very knowledgeable, professional, and talented at their craft.Waldos Darkside has appropriate and competitive pricing. If you think a piece is over priced, maybe you should rethink getting a tattoo in the first place. Sure, you could pay less somewhere else but you are going to end up getting something one of these guys will have to touch up. In the tattoo world, you get what you pay for.The shop itself is full of great decor and they always have movies rolling to help pass the time. The place is always clean and spotless and the staff pay very close attention to keeping the shop a safe, sanitary studio.To the reviewer that claimed there were cockroaches.. I highly doubt anything like that was observed. I would like to know where you studied entomology. It sounds like someone got a price or answer they didnt want to hear. All tattoo and piercing shops have to maintain a clean hospital like level of sanitation to continue to keep their license to operate.I have gotten a lot of work done here and will continue to have all future work here as well. The best and friendliest place in Kansas City hands down.

My daughter and I just saw Jen for our first visit.. me for an update to my helix jewelry and her for a whole new helix piercing. I had mine done in my twenties with a gun and it took weeks for the swelling to go down and to stop hurting... Hers looks like it has been in for years. No swelling, no irritation... it was even less painless than getting her lobes done. Jen even called and checked on us that night. What a great first experience! Were definitely coming back when we want new jewelry.

Love the environment. Very friendly and very clean. Had a butterfly tattoo and wasnt happy with one part, Brett had touched up that part with no questions asked and was happy to do so. He cares about what you want and how you feel. Would have him do all my tattoos in the future.

Been there a couple of times and its always amazing! Brett does an outstanding job and I couldnt be happier with my tattoos. Theyre all so friendly and especially these days they take covid precautions very seriously. Ill never go anywhere else!

Waldos Darkside is one of the best places you can go. They have really awesome geeky decor. I got my nose pierced by Jenn, she is the most awesome person ever. She really made me feel safe and calm when I got pierced. The atmosphere is great and the service.

Great people, awesome artists, most excellent geeky decor. Very professional. This was my third tattoo, and I came in with the art drawn out already. Just a simple flag and banner design for my heritage, and he nailed it. Love my tattoo, and already planning to go back there for all my future art.

Came in at 3:30, didnt get tattooed until 4pm. We got done at 5pm, and I was charged almost $200 for a few lines. I was told it was $100 an hour, but i was only tattooed for 1 hour and was charged an extra $100 for what? BEWARE OF THIS SHOP! THEY WILL COME OFF FRIENDLY THEN STAB YOU RIGHT IN THE BACK AND SCAM YOU ONCE YOUR TATTOO IS FINSIHED... And to mention the guy took a multiple 10-minute smoke breaks and told me Lets call it 2 hours... Never will i ever come here again nor recommend getting tattooed by JOHN PAUL.

I’ve never actually been to this tattoo shop but a few years ago another car hit mine when I was passing through the intersection outside the shop. I was in shock and one of the employees helped me get out of my car and calmed me down. I haven’t forgotten this and very grateful for the person’s help. Waldo’s darkside definitely has some kind folks working for them.

On the website it says piercings are available but when I went in I was immediately turned away and was told the peircer moved. Please change the false advertisement and dont waste anyone elses time. Thank you

Nice and friendly...however I do NOT recommend getting your tattoo done in a place with COCKROACHES! They dont appear to over run the place but I saw at least two in just a 20 min time frame...that says to me they are NOT a very sanitary establishment.Their work seems nice though if youre willing to risk it..we arent.

Excellent service and professionalism that I experienced at this tattoo shop! My artwork was finished that day I came in no hesitation! I will definitely be returning back to John Paul for another tattoo. I was truly impressed!

I first went to Waldo Darkside in March of this year. I needed a tattoo from another shop touched up. The first person I talked to was Pat (Patrick Sears). I told him what I needed done and said he could hook me up. He brought the tattoo back to life and did it on the cheap (price wise). Since that day I have gotten 21 different tatts from Pat. I have zero complaints about his work. I get compliments all the time on how great my tatts look (they are all on my arms).My girlfriend has gotten 6 tatts from Pat as well and she is very happy with his work. We will continue to go to Pat for all of our future tatts and we have plenty of skin left to cover! I would highly recommend Pat at Waldo Darkside.The shop itself is very clean with a lot really cool and interesting decor. JP, the owner, is an absolute freak about anything Star Wars! Its pretty cool. Speaking of JP, I have not had any work done by him yet, but I have seen some of his completed work first hand. He is legit...he does solid work.Check it out, you wont be disappointed.

Husband got a tattoo from Patrick that now has to be covered. The fingers on the tattoo are so dis proportioned that its hard to tell they are even fingers. It looks like it was done in someones garage.

TJ gave me exactly what I was looking for, amazing line work. The shop is comfortable, clean and non pretentious. Ill be back for more work.
