Truth is a very down to earth guy. His shop and work truly speak for themselves. Ive gotten tattoos by other artist but Im very happy with his work and wont be going back to anyone else but him.Its very rare to find an artist who will sit and free hand you something taylored to your needs. I did a lot of research to find an experienced and professional artist to do my daughters dimple piercings. I found Truths tattoos in my research and chose Truth as that artist. He did a wonderful job on her piercings 😍Truth is very warm and friendly, making the whole experience easy. It was worth the 6+ hour drive we made to have him do her piercings. Im glad I decided to have Truth do my daughters piercings, as cheek piercings can be risky and placement is very important. By experience with Truth was excellent! I drew an image I had in my mind and brought it to him. We discussed where I wanted to have it inked, he did a quick mock up of the image to scale for the area I planned, and offered some artistic advice to embellish the image. I paid my deposit and scheduled the date. I later needed to reschedule our appointment due to life and he was very gracious about it. I finally rescheduled nearly six months later and changed where i wanted the tattoo. No issue!Day of tattoo and Truth provided excellent service! The tattoo is on my calf and full of rich, vibrant colors. The embellishments he added to my original drawing are gorgeous.Perhaps it was simply my level of pain tolerance, but this tattoo hurt A LOT, but the final product is dope! My session took 7-8 hours. I’m grateful I did my research for a tattoo artist that is experienced with inking color images into melanated skin. I could not be more satisfied with the end result!Bonus - when I had questions and concerns with aftercare, I texted him and responded quickly. I was never alone through this entire process.Thanks, Truth!

His hand are blessed beyond measure.I had a pre-existing tattoo that just wasnt cutting it.I showed and described what I wanted and he brang my vision to life.The detail work is amazing. I have never done a review before & ive tried to be reasonable with this artist..and got beat out of a $60 for this overpriced ,not done tattoo.Went to his shop on April 26th for a zodiac name tattoo,along side my right hand.The first price he gave me was $120 like i was getting a really big tattoo,(that was a red flag 🚩 shouldve dipped then). So as i going through sizes of names he finally gets to $60 .Sits in his chair gets my tattoo afterwards i notices that theirs no bleeding. I didnt wanna jump to conclusions so i let it be. To make a long story short after maybe a week of peeling i go back to him he set up another appointment because the tattoo literally was gone. Me & my daughter go up there he tells me it need to heal more. Its healed completely tho.Contacted him again numerous times ,told him my work schedule he kept scheduling times i was at work,Then eventually stop responding. I have contacted better business bureau..because even tho it was jus $60 ppl this was scamming and unfair. I try to support black owned businesses..but this is why his lot stays so empty.

Just finished an 8 1/2 hour tapout session last night with Truth and the final product is truly amazing! I am so pleased with his work. I live close to the studio and had always overlooked his studio until I was hunting for a place to have a memorial piece for my husband done and couldnt seem to get anything to work out with other studios. I saw the listing for the shop online while I was searching and figured, What the heck? Its close by and would be convenient. Might as well at check it out. Im so glad I did. I wanted to have a piece done with several lions to represent my children, husband and I. My husband passed away in January in Syria after volunteering with a Kurdish group to go fight ISIS and the western volunteers in group he was with were called the Lions of Rojava. I was impressed with Truths portfolio of work which included several beautifully done lions so I figured it was worth pursuing and showed him my ideas and set up the appointment. When I came in the day of my session I wasnt sure what to expect, but when he brought out the sketch to show me I teared up. It was beautiful! As beautiful as the sketch was, the final product is even more so. Just, WOW! This man is seriously talented and I am so pleased with his work. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a truly beautiful piece of body art. Thank you so much for my beautiful piece, Truth! It means so much to me!

I had my septum pierced by Truth and he was honestly just born to do this. All around a great experience. He has a vibe that just puts you at ease. Laid back and conversational. 10/10! This shop is a hidden gem on Taylor Blvd. Very clean and super personable! He manage to squeeze me in as a walk-in piercing and did a tattoo consult for the future. His assistant was very quick and efficient on making sure I was over 18 and getting my paperwork together while explaining what to sign and where to sign it.

Even though he was closing in an hour and I did not have an appointment, he still took me in! He was nice and professional. He did a great job on my tattoo. He took his time and I really appreciate that even though Im sure he was wishing he had turned me away so he could go home! He created a beautiful piece of art and didnt get upset when I asked to adjust it (even though it was beautiful to start with) and Ive had artists respond very negatively to suggesting small changes. Im very happy with my experience and my tattoo and I cant wait to go back!

First of all, I called the number at 7:00pm, and Truth answered.. had me text the image of what I wanted and quoted me in less than five minutes; then, he met me later that same night after dinner with his family (who I also got to meet and are fantastic people as well). The price he quoted me was projected on about an hour and 15 minutes of work, he spent almost four hours on it to ensure he got every last detail perfect, and didn’t charge me a penny more for it. Hands down the best artist I’ve come across yet - and this wasn’t my first tattoo. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for something from the most simplistic piece to the most intricate. I’ll never need to look for another artist, that’s for sure. Extremely relaxed atmosphere, and he’s very welcoming person on top of being incredibly talented.Thanks again man for the incredible work!

I came in with a poorly executed home tattoo, done by a friend of mine. I was weary if anything could even be done, but Truth is no joke! By the end of the session I was in tears of joy and felt so much relief. He completely transformed such a negative experience in my life to some thing so beautiful and positive. It was a great time and he is a great artist. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else for coverup or tattoo!

I introduced him to the memory of a person that he was simply not worthy of. I thought the end product would be worth the experience, but I now know that was not the case. The consequence of my naivety is the battle of trying to associate the tattoo with the positive emotions I have about my grandmother instead of the negative, regretful emotions I have about the unprofessional experience I had with the tattooist. Disregarding the sketchiness of the area, the tattooist missed the first consult session he had set up only to get back with me 30 minutes after to set up a new one. When we did get together, I had high hopes, I admit. My mother was there and he was sympathetic to the purpose of my tattoo. After agreeing to do my tattoo, he scheduled my tattoo from 6pm-9pm the following day. Come the next day, I’m informed that he’s an hour behind and to now be there at 7pm.My sister-in-law and I show up at 7pm but the tattoo session doesn’t actually begin until 8:20pm. It’s what happened in between that rotted the whole experience. The compassion that everyone says he seems to have dissipated almost immediately. I asked if he was going to include important details in with the tattoo: the corner of the address slip she would put on her brushes and the brand name of her favorite pens (which were never included). He turned toward me fast and aggressively yelled, “Now, don’t go pissing me off now!”, in such a tone that my sister-in-law came rushing back into the room in full-on defensive-mode to see what in the world was going on. I’d love to go back to that moment and take our stuff and leave, but I can’t. It was clear from that moment that he was insecure about his ability to do my tattoo, but I was stupid and excited about the design so I pressed on.While he did clean my arm before putting on the stencil, he didn’t shave my arm. As the stencil dried, he smoked for the first time. Tattooing began at 8:20pm and ended at 2:30am. In that time, aside from the rapid and constant use of expletives and loud rap music, he couldn’t stay off his phone. He had about 4 groups of friends come over to the shop to talk with him at varying times. Texted and called a handful of times. Even had a friend bring him supper during the session. Had to take a lot of breaks during the session too. I’m glad I was priced from the start because come about the 4th or 5th hour, he said he should have charged me more with how long the tattoo session was taking, with all of the breaks and welcomed distractions. Had the session been distraction-free, the tattoo could have been completed in half the time and my sister-in-law and I wouldn’t have been in Shively at 3am.Unfortunately, despite the infuriating experience I had, I can’t argue with the end result. While I feel annoyed by it, my family all loves it and they think it’s a great memorial for my grandmother. Really, if it weren’t for my sister-in-law, I wouldn’t have been calm, cool, and collected. I just wish someone deserving could have done the tattoo. He wasn’t worthy to trace my grandmother’s handwriting or to sign her name and I’ve apologized to her for that. It is what it is. Just wish he could have respected how important the need for the tattoo session to go smoothly and perfectly was. If you have the tolerance and patience for the cons of Truths Tattoos, then the pros speak for themselves. Now, it’s just another lesson for me and I’m grateful for it. Im a whimp when it comes to tattoos But this is my 3rd from this shop in a week and my first from the bossman himself!! Im so thankful I made it thru! Truth did his thing! All the guys in there are talented and very laid back They are the only ones Im going to from now on! Go here!!!!

Guy is a thief. Showed up for my appointment and he wasnt there. He contacted me via email asking me to come by 2 hours later. I show up again and he still isnt there. Called 11 times trying to get ahold of him. Knocked and rang the door bell. He claims Im the one who never showed and refuses to give me back my deposit. Tattoo artist? More like scam artist.

Call up ahead of time at least an hour was told there are several people available to do tattoos. I get up there several people walk in they acknowledged the guys but I sat a total about 10-15 minutes no one said anything to me so I walked out and they will not get my business not professional at all
