Love the folks at Citadel! Morgan is such a kind and humble human. The atmosphere of the shop is intimate, comfortable, and welcoming. As someone who’s been tattooed in a number of shops, an exceptional experience is always notable to me. I appreciate the various styles available from each artist and look forward to going back for more work soon.

I’ve been tattooed many times over the years by Morgan and now also by Jamie - everyone who works here does a fantastic job of making it a fun and friendly environment. The shop itself is beautiful, bright and filled with art and plants, and in a great area of NE Minneapolis.If you go here with an idea, they will work with you to bring it to life. There’s none of the snobbery that you sometimes find in tattoo shops, and all of the artists do a stellar job on everything they touch. Highly recommend.

Ive been getting tattooed by the owner, Morgan, for over 2 years now. He is talented, professional, clean, respectful, and, most of all, creates an environment that is comfortable. He has now tattooed the vast majority of my body and Ive never felt apprehensive about going in for either a full limb being covered or a smaller piece. Now his apprentice, Jamie, is tattooing too and she is also so wonderful and gifted. Ive sent numerous friends and family to them and its been nothing but rave reviews. I truly feel lucky to have met them and I will absolutely be a client for life...Or until I run out of room.

Tattoo shops are everywhere but there is only one Citadel. This shop is clean and safe with a chill atmosphere. Morgan brings a level of respect and experience to the game that is unmatched. He’s easy to work with on the design side mixing traditional elements with an authentic, modern perspective. He has a huge variety of flash, prices fairly, builds his own machines, and moves fast with a light hand. There are tattoo shops everywhere if you want scratch that won’t last. Only head to Citadel if you want quality work that will hold up over time.

Ive gone to both Matt and Morgan for several tattoos both large and small, and they always knock it out of the park. The shop is super cozy and clean, and has a really great neighborhood vibe to it. Cant say enough positive things about these folks!

Having been tattooed at several different places I can honestly say Citadel was one of my best experiences! I felt so welcome and comfortable even while being tattooed in a less than comfortable spot. The shop talk was fun and after hours of work the artists genuinely felt like old friends. I will definitely be back!

This shop has the most “comfy” vibe of any shop I’ve ever been to. All 3 artists are great and super friendly/inviting. You can walk in and pick some of the amazing flash pieces or talk out your idea and they’ll come up with a SICK TATT you’ll love forever. Will be back every time I visit MPLS.

This newer shop tucked away in one of the more quiet Northeast Minneapolis neighborhoods is a fast favorite. Comfortable, clean, professional - Matt and Morgan provide an incredibly welcoming spot to enjoy your tattoo experience. Ive worked with Matt on several pieces and could not ask for a more trustworthy and collaborative artist. He listens thoughtfully and is forthcoming about which ideas do and do not work for the piece in question and your preferred placement. Ive been incredibly happy with every session. They often do flash events and have walk-in availability for predrawns or your own ideas. For a truly wonderful tattoo experience you cant go wrong with Citadel.

Got my knee done here by Matt. Great shop and artists. Fun environment and quality tattoos. If you want ink done, this is the place. The tattoos are quick and completely painless.

I have been tattooed here several times as well as my husband. Not only is the location easy to park at (even though it’s street parking), the crew at the shop are so welcoming and happy. If you’re getting your 1st tattoo or your 100th they treat you with the utmost respect. I’ve been tattooed by the owner Morgan several times and each time is more enjoyable then the last! We all chat and laugh and just have a good time. I’ve been tattooed by 14 people so far in my 14 years of getting tattooed and this shop and these folks are the best I’ve encountered yet! 10/10 do recommend. Also if you are in need of a light hand while getting an amazing tattoo I HIGHLY suggest Morgan, 98% of the time I can’t even tell he’s tattooing he’s so gentle. This is a shop for the people.

This place is one of the best spots in the cities to get a walk in tattoo done. A ton of awesome flash available, and Morgan is super kind and knowledgeable! They also do larger scale custom work as well! The vibe of the shop is relaxed but intimate. The tattoo I got from Morgan healed up great and looks awesome. 10/10 would recommend.

Got some really cute flash from Jamie, they were very professional and did a great job! Theres a lot of cool flash on the walls making think of what I want to do next

Made the trip from Fargo to get tattooed by Morgan. Both my piece ab6d my wifes piece turned out amazing! Never laughed so much during a tattoo in my life. Morgan & Matt cultivate great vibes and are 2 neat dudes.

Morgans been my go to artist for years. His shop is a little old school mixed with modern and he treats his coworkers and apprentices and clientele with a ton of respect. Definitely worth the price and time! (And pain)
