This is definitely the place to go for piercings in Pittsburgh, the jewelry selection is amazing and they have lots of great options for self expression and everything who works here is extremely nice, welcoming, and informative. My piercer Max was especially very comforting for my first piercing he talked me through every step and I did not feel nervous at all. Cant recommend this place ENOUGH!

I had a double conch and septum done by Tanner and am very happy with the results! He was extremely professional and made me feel confident going into each piercing. The shop has a welcoming atmosphere and all of the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend and will be going back for more!

Staff there was so incredibly nice and helpful. the guy who did my piercing spent so much time making sure to line up my nose piercing and it came out perfect. definitely worth coming here and will be coming back!

I got my first lobe piercings here, done by Max. They drew a diagram on my ears to make sure the piercings would be symmetrical. They walked me through everything they were doing. I felt comfortable the whole time. Everyone was so, so, so professional. I was really impressed. Looking forward to coming back!

I went on Tuesday to get my frenum pierced. The guys at the front desk were really nice, very thorough, and knowledgeable with the process of the piercing, aftercare and healing, and jewelry. They answered every and any question I had, both related and unrelated to the piercing itself. William was my piercer and I couldnt have asked for a better experience for this kind of piercing. I felt comfortable and confident throughout my whole time here. I highly recommend to anyone.

I love coming here. The staff is exceptional and they make you feel so welcome and comfortable. I’ve been pierced by Tanner three times now and he’s so great. He walks you through the entire process and puts you at ease.

I have never been to a better piercing place. Will did my helix and my friend’s rook, and he was the most excellent professional I’ve ever had do my ears! I have always gotten light headed everywhere else, but not here - they made me feel comfortable and did the piercing so fast it was done before I knew it. Come to hot rod!!!

I’ve been getting pierced here for years and recently went in to fully rework all of my jewelry and downsize several things. I came in with a lot to get done but it was easy to schedule an appointment online. Front desk was fantastic with helping me sort it all out and William was fantastic as always as we worked through all the changes. Cannot recommend this studio enough! Ever since I found them they remain the only place in pgh I will go!

I’ve had two piercings here, by Tanner and Will, and both experiences have been great. The space is cool and clean, and everyone I’ve met who works here is professional, welcoming, and seems happy to be there.

Got my septum done a few days ago here! The whole staff was amazing and made me feel comfortable. I was nervous after having issues with other piercings in the past, but they made sure to explain everything and help me pick out jewelry to match the nose stud I already had in. Max was my piercer and was so nice and made the whole experience so quick and painless, I literally asked if that was all the pain as it was being done! Stubbing a toe hurt worse than getting this piercing for me personally! If I decide to get anything else done, I will definitely be back! Will be recommending to anyone I talk to going forward! They also had a great selection of jewelry available!

I absolutely adore Hot Rod Piercing Company. I have been going there for years and always have a great experience. The jewelry sold there is high end, high quality, and beautiful. The customer service is top notch! I’m always greeted with a smile and can tell that they all take pride in what they do. They really take their time to help you pick the perfect piece for the area you’re getting pierced, and you never feel like they’re rushing through the service. They are incredibly skilled piercers. As you can tell I can’t say enough about this place! Definitely check them out!

Juno and Tanner were great! I haven’t gotten pierced in 20+ years and both of them walked me through the process, what to expect during and after and were so friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Very impressed with cleanliness, too, and happy with my piercings!

Got a daith piercing with Max (apprentice piercer) and the whole appointment from picking out the jewelry, getting pierced, being educated on aftercare, etc. was extremely well thought-out and professional - its obvious they are APP members. I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped into the shop, and Max narrated every step of the piercing process, gave me aftercare advice, and took sterility/aseptic technique seriously (including sterilizing the jewelry right before piercing and using all sterile equipment/gloved hands), which gives me peace of mind for easier healing. Not to mention, the piercing turned out great! Ill definitely stop by again when Im in town :)

Every single person that i encountered at my appointment today was extremely nice and welcoming from the front desk to checkout. Aly greeted me when i walked in and helped me pick out jewelry. She listened to what i wanted and showed me the best options. Extremely knowledgable and walked me through everything else i needed to know and had a great personality. Tanner was my piercer and i cannot say enough good things about him. Extremely outgoing and great conversation the entire time, i never felt uncomfortable and he made the entire process smooth from start to finish. He was able to help me get my septum back in and did a nostril piercing and he walked me through every step and educated me while still keeping the conversation going. He didn’t rush and made sure i was okay with everything before proceeding every step of the way. I will definitely be back!

They were very patient and offered sound advice on what would work best for me. They explained aftercare to me in detail before I got pierced, and answered any questions I had proactively. The combination of jewelry we ended up with is beautiful!There was another person working the counter whose name I missed that gave me some tips abour taking care of my new tragus, since they just had theirs done too. He was super nice, greeted me promptly, and explained every step of the process, from the paperwork, to the sanitizing, to the placement and piercing. Ive had two piercings here so far, and a couple of jewelry changes and now I always recommend them to others. The whole team are friendly and efficient and aim to give you the best possible experience. They are meticulous about hygiene and honest and clear about aftercare . The jewelry is also beautiful and high quality with lots of options in different price ranges.

I went recently to get some piercings removed and they were extremely quick and kind about everything! It was $15 to get my piercings removed. They have the most beautiful jewelry inside!

I had my nostril pierced by Max, and I just wanted to say as someone who has been pierced in the past this is by far the best experience I’ve ever had! They were clearly very experienced, the rest of the staff was so friendly and helpful, the shop was clean and professional, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for another piercing or jewelry change again. I am from Cleveland, and made the appointment to kill some time while I waited for my friend who I was visiting to get off work. I was pleasantly surprised to have such a wonderful experience and would gladly drive out to visit their shop over finding something closer to me. They absolutely earned 5 stars, if I could rate even better I would.

This place was spotless. Everything was extremely clean and you could tell it was an extremely well taken care of shop. The piercers were so personable and did extremely well with my calming nerves. I always get a bit woozy when I get piercing and other places I have gone to haven’t handled it well, but Will was extremely helpful. He gave me some lemonade amongst other things and didn’t make me feel embarrassed. It was super quick and looks great. Overall it is an incredibly professional business and I will be going there from now on.

I refuse to go anywhere else. It’s extremely easy to set up your appointment online, everyone is very friendly and helpful, it’s a very clean environment. Tanner has done 90% of my piercings and he has always made sure that my comfort was of utmost importance even with putting a needle in my skin lol. Ive been going here for over a year now, and I can honestly say I dont trust anyone else with my body. Ive been pierced by all of the piercers here (Jerry, Will, and Sam), and have had nothing but great experiences. Almost all of my piercings have been from here, and the majority of my jewelry is also from here. From the moment you walk in, youre addressed as a friend. They go over healing processes extensively, let you pick out your own quality jewelry, and the piercing process itself is quick and easy. I will only ever recommend these guys. Best piercers in Pittsburgh by far!Update: throughout covid these guys have been doing a fantastic job. Everyone is vaccinated in the shop, and scheduling an appointment is a breeze. I just got my second nostril piercing last night, and Will killed it yet again!!! Both piercings are dead-on symmetrical. Keep it up guys!

I had a lovely experience here. Every staff member was so attentive, professional, and patient. Tanner was my piercer. He pierced my nose and my helix. Tanner was incredibly thorough, gentle, and calming. He could have his own ASMR channel. You can tell he loves what he does. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Its so rare to have a truly great experience front to back with any kind of service. I cannot understate how wonderful my experience was here, though. They made me feel comfortable, welcome, and safe from the moment I walked in the door until I walked out again. They are all clearly super good at their jobs. Sorry if this is a long read but guys let me tell you this was the best piercing experience EVER ……… So this was my first ever cartilage piercing I’ve ever gotten in my life, and let me tell you I was very nervous I spent countless night watching videos and reviews on cartilage piercings and I was shook from the amount of bad experiences people had such as pain level, healing, experience with piercer and etc. but for me not the case the moment I walked in the door I was greeted and welcomed told everything I needed to know was shown some nice jewelry and the shop you guys this shop was immaculate I mean clean As Hell updated and just very nice. For the juicy part guys my piercers name was will just awesome got me in and out with the quickness the whole process was like butter and not long and drawn out and for the good part when I tell you he did it so quick it didn’t even hurt on a pain scale from 1 to 10 I gave it a 2 literally overall experience 10 out of 10 totally recommend I will be back for my next piercing ☺️

Went here to buy a pair of earrings with the flat backs. The place was recommended by a friend. Very friendly atmosphere, especially for someone like me who is not a piercing connoisseur. Max was wonderful with helping me pick a pair out and install them. If I get another piercing, I will definitely come here to do so 👍

I think it might be a little pricey (got surgical retainers and they were 12$ each :/) but you always know you’re getting the best service and cleanliness.

Got my nose pierced for $90 with a REAL nose ring. Nothing fake that’ll turn green or break me out. Loved the jewelry provided , the service and the staff was SO nice. They even let me check to see which side I wanted my piercing on first. Definitely coming here to get my second side pierced. Tanner was my piercer

The appointment was easy to set up online, and they was having walk-ins the day I went for my piercing but there was no additional wait. Place was very clean and everyone was very professional. *update* 12/30/23I got my nose jewelry changed here before with good results, two weeks ago I downsized one of my piercings and put a hoop in my fully healed nose piercing (over a year old). When the hoop was inserted I noticed some trauma on the piercing but I assumed it was part of switching to a hoop. Two weeks later of pain and swelling, I now realized the hoop was too small and the trauma was from forcing the hoop to close and it slitting the nose piercing hole in order to fit. I feel that the piercer should of caught this when they changed the jewelry and they had to notice the trauma after fitting the jewelry. Ive removed the hoop and went back to my stud but the swelling is still there and a bit of scaring. Really nice staff here and jewelry but I feel this was a very rookie mistake also a waste of money on the ill fitting jewelry.

Genuinely the best piercing shop in Pittsburgh but also that I’ve ever been to period. The people here are so welcoming and knowledgeable. The piercer Tanner has done both my snakebites and double nostrils and made me feel super comfortable. He puts so much pride into his work. I’ve been pierced by other people before but Tanner always takes his time and makes me feel like he really cares about how it turns out which is so important- and I’ve only experienced that level of professionalism and kindness at Hot Rod. Also they have the nicest high quality jewelry that are meant to be forever pieces and will follow up with you after you get pierced. Whole piercing process from start to finish was easy and seamless. Booking appointment was easy and reminders were helpful. Check in was simple. I would suggest that maybe offer that online as well. I was with Will for my piercing and he was fun to talk to and super knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend going here. It was a great experience.

I had ear piercings done by Will a few years ago and he was great. Recently I have been back two more times to get piercings by Tanner and a jewelry change by Tanner once the piercings were healed a bit. Each time I have been here every employee has been beyond nice and welcoming. Sometimes I get social anxiety but I always feel very comfortable coming into the shop. The piercing process has always been quick but not rushed, which I appreciate. I won’t go anywhere else and recommend hot rod to anyone I know asking for piercing recommendations! :)

The lady that started our apointment and explained everything and how it works did a great job. Tanner explained the process again and made sure we did not have any questions. My daughter got her 3rd ear piercing for her birthday. He was very profession and spend time to ensure everything was correct!! Great experience and would highly recommend this shop!!

I literally had the most incredible experience here today. I got my septum pierced by Tanner. Immediately when you walk in, you’re greeted by the nicest people ever. They talk through all the jewelry with you and just generally warm and welcoming. Tanner was totally awesome. He was patient, chill and thorough with explaining the entire process and easing any nerves. I have never had a better piercing experience in my life and I came with 24 prior piercings. I refuse to go anywhere else now. My piercing came out EXACTLY how I wanted it. I couldn’t be happier.

This was my first professional piercing experience and I have to say I am extremely pleased. William was my piercer and he was great! So approachable and knowledgeable. We talked during the entire appointment so that it wasnt just awkward silence (the kind that makes you uncomfortable and nervous) and I barely realized I was done. This was a nose piercing, which I was anxious for, but I was blown away by how fast and painless it was. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend them! Shop was also extremely clean and jewelry was cute with a decent variety. Staff was all so helpful and nice! I definitely wont be going anywhere else in the future.

My favorite place in the city for all things piercing. Theyve always been clean, professional, thorough, and caring. I think theyre the only place Ive ever been that asks you to come back in 4-6 weeks for aftercare (but honestly Ive only been to maybe 2 other places because I keep coming back!)

I was looking to re-pierce my belly button for a while now, I was looking at multiple tattoo & piercing shops. On so many reviews, other people suggested Hot Rod. When I went to their website, all reviews were amazing & not one bad thing said. I went today & Derek at the front desk was super helpful. He was easy to talk to & informative. Tanner was my piercer & he was AMAZING. He suggested I get a floating navel, to help heal better since the first time around didn’t go well. He took the time to line up my piercing standing & laying. He made sure I liked everything, was super easy to talk to & very understanding. He definitely knows what he’s doing & actually cares about what your opinion is. He made the whole experience so much easier. All of their jewelry is hypoallergenic which is a huge plus for me as well, although it’s more pricey I would spend the $20 extra any day to get it done properly. I will never go anywhere else!

My little sister and I came to get our ears pierced and we had a great experience. The two people who helped us choose our jewelry were very nice and informative. Our piercers, Tanner and William, explained every step of their process and ensured that we got exactly what we wanted. You dont get so many 5 star reviews because you dont know what youre doing -- I decided to get my nose re-pierced, and I did a lot of research prior to getting it done and decided to go with Hot Rod because they had so many amazing reviews.The scheduling process online was super easy, and everyone in the shop was so friendly. William pierced my nose, and he clearly knows what hes doing, asked if I liked the placement of my previous nose piercing, and suggested that we should move it to a slightly different place, which was fine by me.They are more expensive than other shops -- the price of the piercing is pretty in-line with the industry, but the jewelry isnt included; HOWEVER, the quality of the jewelry is top notch and worth the expense. Ive had my nose, navel, lip, etc etc, done in different shops where the jewelry is included, is cheaper, and they always want you to use a saline rinse, your jewelry turns brown and gross, etc. Because they use such quality jewelry, all you have to do is not touch your piercing and rinse it with water. I literally rinsed my nose with water 2-3 times a day, didnt touch it, and I had zero issues with healing. In fact, it was probably my fastest healing time, my nose never got super red or irritated, so its well worth the quality.They are kind, knowledgeable, and do great work -- 10/10 recommend.

I’ve been coming to Hot Rod since the fall of 2010. Mostly to the Oakland location, before it closed and South Side is all that remains.I can’t begin to thank the staff enough for being amazing. They hit it out of the ballpark each and every time. In the 13 years I’ve been coming here, they have always advised in the perfect manner, and charge me a fair price for my jewelry and the piercing fee.I recently had an experience where I was pierced in a spot that there was miscommunication about (I won’t call it a mistake, as I do believe there was miscommunication), and the response from management was quite possibly the best response I’ve ever seen in the customer service sector. They were absolutely happy to re-pierce at no cost (minus of course a tip to the piercer), and were ok with my anxiety induced e-mail (the first I’ve ever had to send in 13 years) that explained my ‘complaints’/request to move the piercing to my OG requested spot.Let’s just say that they’ll continue to be my home parlor for many years to come. In particular when Tanner re-pierced me, he made sure to make a lovely map on my phone ear showing the exact size of the jewelry, and where he suggested the re-piercing to occur. I very much appreciated it, as it showed me exactly what the jewelry would look like in the spot I’d chosen. It made me feel that much more secure that I was making the right decision to remove the OG piercing.Anyways- you won’t make a bad choice in going to Hot Rod for all your piercing needs. They will never let you down, and always respond kindly with any issues you may have. That makes it the best parlor in Pittsburgh!

I cant recommend this place more! Every time I have been in their shop, they have been so sweet and helpful. Everyone is super kind and hilarious, and they are so knowledgeable about what they do! I have had both William and Samuel for piercings and they have killed it every single time. Any questions I had they knew exactly how to answer and theyre super chill and personable.When youre being pierced, they let you know everything that they are doing and why theyre doing it, and make sure you are totally satisfied with your piercings. I brought my mom and best friend here on separate occasions and they were both thoroughly impressed with the experience!Clean and beautiful work place, amazing selection of jewelry, awesome staff, and great experience! Tanner made my whole experience SO easy and chill from beginning to end! I went to get my philtrum pierced again after a bad experience at another shop. He quelled all of my anxiety and was very thorough in explaining his process. I can already tell that I will be a regular at this shop! If I could give 6 stars, I would :)

Fantastic experience. Went in to get my first piercing in about 20 years (septum), and it couldnt have been a more painless (and pain-free) experience. The venue had a chill vibe and everyone working there was friendly, laidback, and knowledgeable. My piercer, William, was thorough and skilled; he explained everything about the piercing before/as he was doing it, and it was obvious he was a master of his craft. The whole process took only a matter of minutes, and I experienced literally no pain from the needle or the ring going in. My eyes barely watered; thats how smooth it was. I cant recommend Hot Rod highly enough. They are fantastic.

My day started out badly because my nose stud was missing when I woke up. This just messed up the rest of the day. When I got to Hot Rod, I was greeted right away and was helped to find an exact replacement. The whole process took maybe 20 minutes, and I was on my way. They helped turn my day around. 10/10 I recommend. I love this place.

I have gone to hot rod several times this year alone and I cannot recommend them enough to everyone I know. today I got a lip piercing redone that I had taken out previously. william pierced me and the piercing was lower than my old piercing and I didnt like it. william made me feel so comfortable (because I felt awful asking him to redo it!) but they are all such nice people. as a nurse, their knowledge of body anatomy and cleanliness is something I really notice as well. these guys are great. dont waste your time anywhere else. 10/10.

I had the joy of getting pierced at Hot Rod piercing today and was so thrilled with the experience. They took such great care of me, made me feel comfortable, took their time, made sure everything would look beautiful and were true professionals. I was nervous - and walking out they were giving me affirmations making me feel really special. They also seemed gender inclusive with their language, restrooms and forms. Online scheduling was so easy. I took my daughter to get her eyebrow pierced by William. It was amazing! This was her first piercing and everyone there was super nice and friendly. I even got some new jewelry for myself! Very calm and laid back environment. Super clean. We will definitely be back!

I’ve gotten every piercing I have done here (ears, eyebrow, nips, lips), and every time it has been an amazing experience. Not only are their standards of cleanliness, safety, and skill unmatched, but they also take the care to figure out how to make a piercing fit you best. Industrial bars take skillz, and mine came out great :)

Hot Rod Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of their craft. My piercer was very good at explaining things like the healing process in terms I could understand. The studio fosters a professional comfortable environment which helps calm my nerves when getting a new piercing. I have been very happy with the services and suggestions given to me, and I believe it is worth the above average pricing.

I started using them many years ago to do many different piercings. It was the cleanest place in Pittsburgh at the time and still is. Everyone there was extremely professional the quality of the jewelry is great! Not a bad word about them in over 20 years.

I initially visited two other places for my first piercing, I ended up getting my piercing at Hot Rod. It was such a delightful experience, the staff was SUPER helpful in explaining to me what to look out for aftercare. The piercer did an excellent job and my earlobe is healing very nicely.

First time nose piercing and Hot Rod was excellent! The staff is very professional and through in explaining the process. They use nothing but surgical grade jewelry which is worth every Penny! William was especially great -very personable and put me at ease.

I wasn’t sure of placement, but I felt so safe asking their opinion and not judged when I admitted my fear of needles. I went during walk-in hours but was able to get the help planning the piercing i wanted! They picked the perfect placement for the earring i selected, making sure that it fit my ear anatomy which means a lot!! Everyone is just a delight to talk to, my piercer Tanner talked me through the process and didn’t judge me when i was scared. They gave me proper aftercare instructions, and also a check in for my piercing in a couple weeks! they also have a big variety of jewelry!!! Such a fun and loving space to get pierced- definitely recommend!!!!!

It is a high quality piercing place that ONLY does piercings (not tattoos)- this is better because everyone there is a piercing specialist and aren’t doing it as a side gig to tattoos.It is an incredibly clean environment with extraordinary staff. I’ve had 4 piercings done here and have had interactions with almost all the staff. They are friendly and knowledgeable, and provide a welcoming atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a piercing.Are they more expensive than some other shops? Yes. Is it worth it? 100%. They genuinely treat you like a close friend. They do not rush you through the process of picking out your jewelry, deciding the placement, etc. I cannot emphasize enough how pleasant all of my piercing experiences have been here.

Great piercing shop. Theyve done a wonderful job with my daughters piercings, and the shop and procedures are very clean. The piercers are very personable and work with patrons on placement, longer-term planning, and aftercare.

I went on Saturday and got my septum piercing done here with my friend and it was such a great experience! My piercer was Will and he was very friendly and informative when I asked questions. Everyone in the shop was incredibly kind and it had an overall good vibe in there. It made me feel safe because they took our temperatures and had us use hand sanitizer as soon as we came inside. I recommended my friends to go there and if I decide to get anymore piercings I will come back here for sure!

I came here as a recommendation from my sister, all of the staff members were incredibly friendly and amazing. They were very accommodating and always asked if you had any questions, made you feel very safe. All of their jewelry is implant-grade (HUGE selling point for metal allergy people). My piercer, Will, did an awesome job as it’s not uneven at all and the swelling didn’t even make it look crooked. Incredibly clean, definitely made you feel safe, lots of privacy for the actual piercing process, sterile environment. I don’t usually leave reviews but I’m honestly blown away. The only place Id go to get any piercings! They have done 4 piercings on me so far (two of which are on my face) so its safe to say that I trust them wholeheartedly. First time coming here - got my left nostril pierced to match my right and though I spent a little more than I had intended (they could be clearer when offering their jewelry prices, as they dont make it clear youre paying for the internal component on top of the outer piece you choose) Im ultimately fine with it because William was amazing and spent as much time as was necessary to make sure they lined up perfectly. And they are perfect! A+ skill, conversation, and overall experience!

I had never been to Hot Rod before last week, and I have to say it was the best experience Ive ever had getting a piercing. I was extremely nervous going in but the guys were awesome and helped me to relax and answered all my questions. Sam did my piercings and was awesome, he really took the time to make sure the placement was even and just right. He talked me through the whole process and kept things breezy to keep my nerves down (including recommending I turn away from the tray so I didnt see the needles and freak). The studio is super clean, everyone is so nice, and the piercing was as quick and easy as anyone could ask for. Im obsessed with my piercings and will definitely be coming back in the future. They gave me hand sanitizer, took my temperature, and gave me all the details before I even got my nose pierced. I had Tanner helping me at the front desk, who was beyond helpful, and Jeremy (I believe that was his name I’m terrible at remembering these things) conducted my piercing.Tanner gave me all the details for how the process was going to be conducted and how to properly maintain my piercing. I was visiting from out of town and had some extra time, I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Everyone was very knowledgeable, welcoming, and was just as excited about my piercings as I was. The guy who did my piercing was helpful, fast, and thorough. My piercing is healing up nicely and I go for a check in in 5 weeks.

They were pretty booked, so I had to schedule an appointment a week away. When I arrived, I called to let them know, and I waited not even five minutes before I was allowed in. The shop is very clean, and all of the staff is very professional. Sam did my septum piercing, and he did a very good job of making the space comfortable for me. He located the correct spot fairly quickly, and the piercing is completely straight. 10/10 would recommend!

Awesome spot! My piercer was William, he was super cool and found great placement for my flat. It was my 22nd piercing, so Im pretty familiar with the experience, and I was impressed. It was so quick, hardly a pinch, and looks awesome!The shop overall was great, too. A fairly wide selection - I was psyched to see Junipurr pieces in stock - and I was seen basically immediately, even without an appt. Counter staff was great, quick waiver process via QR code, great location on Carson St. I definitely plan to return to Hot Rod.

Really loved this place. Clean, sanitary, professional, and lots of different earring options. Staff was awesome and talked with me and my sister for a while about the best options for our ears. We were checking out curated piercings. Finally decided, and Will took us both back in the room and was patient and considerate that it was my sisters first piercing that wasnt her lobe. Hot Rod Piercing is the only place I will go to for my piercings now. I’ve been seen by Sam and William so far and they have both given me an amazing experience. I had two piercings done each on two separate occasions and I was in and out within 30 minutes each time. Everything has healed exceptionally and I credit that to the artists and their thorough aftercare instructions. Their staff is super friendly and pleasant.

I had to get my ears repierced after 20 years and not wearing earrings all the time. They were excellent at Hot Rod. I was a little nervous but my technician was professional, comforting, and extremely sanitary. I couldn’t be more pleased on how the piercing turned out and my overall experience. Went here tonight for a body piercing and had Sam as my piercer. He was absolutely amazing! Very clean, professional, and funny! Today I went back to them for my flat piercings. Had my daiths some by them in 2019. My flats were done by Tanner. Although honestly, cannot go wrong with any one of the piercers. It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. When I walked in my original plan wasnt a flat but a forward helix. I have small ears so I was aware that it may not be a possibly. I discussed my plans with Max (I believe thats his name. Sorry if I got it wrong!) and he was able to make suggestions for current and future piercings. He also helped me pick pieces that I love! Once back with Tanner we discussed what I wanted today and also in the future. Because I had both sides done at the same time and plan to add two more, he took time to make sure they were even and explained where the other two could be placed whenever I decide to do them. They may run a little behind schedule sometimes. But honestly, Id rather have a piercer take their time then rush just to keep appointments.Tanner is a different piercer than I had before. I was a little nervous being pierced by him given how comfortable I was with my last piercer. Honestly, it seems you cant to wrong with ANY of the piercers.Thank you all so much for being such fantastic humans and once again giving me an amazing experience! I may have gotten what Id come in planning to get but I love my flats so much!

I do not know where to begin with Hot Rod Piercing Co. I went to them to get a simple ear piercing since mine had gotten infected the first time I had them done. I had some scarring which concerned me a bit and wanted to make sure I picked a place with good reviews. The moment I walked in I was greeted with the most welcoming attitude. They were so kind and devoted to what I wanted done and any concerns I had. When I went back to get them pierced, everything was so clean and comfortable. Jerry did my piercings and he is so knowledgable and in love with his work that it truly shows. He explained everything in detail, was so sweet, and pierced them so fast I felt nothing. My experience was so great that Id consider getting something else pierced just to go back. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get something pierced.

Yesterday I got my double nostril pierced by Jerry and I had an amazing experience. He explained everything completely to me beforehand as well as any questions or concerns. It just made me completely comfortable. This was definitely the best experience I had getting a piercing. The lovely lady at the counter whose name I cannot remember asking for explained everything about the aftercare to me which I really appreciate considering no one that has pierced me has really gone through what you should not use to take care of your new piercing. Everyone was very friendly. You can tell they love what they do. They listened to what I wanted to get and at the end of the day I have a piercing that I love. I left the shop a very happy camper. I would definitely recommend coming here for any of your piercings. And I will be coming back for sure!

What an experience! While on vacation, I decided to get a nostril piercing and I couldnt have done it at a better place. My husband & I were welcomed warmly by Sam & William. Sam was so thorough on his explanation of selecting a piece of jewelry and aftercare procedure. William was so friendly and very calming during the whole process. He walked me through the proper placement of the piercing, including using a placer ring so I could have a visual of what it would look like before the actual piercing. He gave me some excellent breathing tips and informed of when he was going to go through with the piercing. Im so happy with my choice to have my piercing here and couldnt recommend it more! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! PS, dont judge my wincing face & teary eyes...it was a more than excellent experience :)

Theres nothing bad I can say about my experience here! Everyone was friendly and the environment is super clean. Sam was AMAZING at walking me through all the steps he was doing before and during the piercing process. I got my nose re-pierced and my helix pierced (shown in picture). There was barely any pain and a lot of smiles! I will definitely be coming here again for future piercings!

The tools used were sterile, it almost reminded me of a doctors office with all the items in the plastic.Jerry took the time to explain and go thru the options of the placement and care of the piercing. Jerry (I’m bad with names) the piercer fixed a piercing for me that was done poorly at another shop. He was super well informed and extremely nice. He was so gentle and gracious about changing my jewelry to a safer piece on an already sensitive piercing. The front of house female employee was also exceptionally kind and helpful. They also have a huge selection of beautiful, unique jewelry. Will be recommending everyone here for piercings.

Had to come back and update this. Hot Rod is the best piercing place in Pittsburgh. They do piercings that other shops have no idea what youre asking for. Beautiful jewelry selection, amazingly lovely staff who are knowledgeable and very kind. Pay for quality. I got my high nostrils done by Will and my Smiley done by his brother. They make sure you are nice calm throughout the entire process and answer any questions you may have. Love this place!!!!Update-Just got two dermal anchor dones on my chest. Simple silver flat backs but they are STUNNING. Once again, done by Will. Pay for quality people. They have their prices on their website and then you pay for the jewelry. Cant wait to get my lower nostrils changed to pink cubic zirconia!!!

Love this shop, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They make sure to do things the right way and will educate you if necessary. Love their jewelry as well. Ive gone here for my septum piercing, to stretch my lobes, and have been with many friends for their piercings and jewelry.

Jerry did my cartilage piercing; he was incredible! He took at least ten minutes to measure each of my ears to make sure the piercings were perfectly even. When he did the piercings, he was efficient and precise. The piercings went through in less than a second. Theyre exactly even and I havent gotten a single infection. Also, he was super friendly and we had some awesome (and intelligent) conversations. Love this place! Im going back tomorrow for my second cartilage.

Genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I went in to get my nose ring unstuck from my nose and the whole process was super quick and easy! I was just visiting Pittsburgh but I would 100% be willing to come back JUST to get another piercing done by them. Super nice people and the place looked incredibly clean! The staff were super friendly! I work at a tattoo shop in Pittsburgh and can say that this place is clean and the staff use proper techniques. I would recommend this place a fantastic place to get your first piercing because these guys are just that good. I had a rook and a tragus piercing done and hardly felt a thing. Like butter. The shop here is really nice and clean , and the staff was very friendly and explained everything very well. I had a simple cartilage piercing in my upper ear done by Jerry, and before the piercing was done the front desk salesperson, Derek, explained the process and assisted with picking out the jewelry. Back while getting the piercing done, Jerry explained further details about what was going on, so everything was very informative. The friendly but professional attitude put me in a very much at ease, and I will definitely get pierced here in the future. Also the actual piercing process was very quick, and other than a brief pinch fairly pain free. Its been several hours since I got the piercing and it doesnt hurt at all, though it may get tender later as it heals further. I had had a cartilage piercing done at a different place before, but with a piercing gun and it definitely was much more painful afterwards so...

Got my septum pierced there yesterday and it was wonderful! Very happy with my piercing and there was 0 pain. The environment was very clean and very friendly! All my questions were answered and I did not feel pushed or rushed into getting a piercing, I went in very nervous but was very comfortable by the end. I would recommend this place for anyone who is getting a piercing for the first time or 100th time!

I just got my helix pierced here and the guy that did my piercing and the one that rang me out were very helpful and friendly. My piercer took the time to explain the aftercare thoroughly and spent time making sure the piercing would be in the best possible spot. He explained each step of what he was doing which helped tremendously as I was a little nervous and calmed me right down. I will definitely be going back for future piercings from there!

I almost never write reviews, but I absolutely loved this place. I just got my septum done, and I was honestly really nervous with all of the horror stories I had heard from friends who got their septum’s pierced. I walked into the shop and the staff could not have been nicer. They walked me through my options as far as jewelry, told me about the process, and walked me through how to care for it as it’s healing. Then, when it came time to actually get the piercing, he told me everything he was going to do, how it would feel, and exactly when it was going to happen. It is one of my favorite and least painful piercings, and I will most definitely be back.

My wife and I recently visited Hot Rod for her to get her nose pierced. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and were eager to inform us of how the process was going to unfold. The staff were super friendly and the piercing environment was clinicial and clean. I decided at the wonderful age of 52 to get my nose pierced!!!!! I have been wanting to do this for many, many years and I was actually pretty scared and excited all at the same time. I decided after really doing my research to go to the Oakland Hot Rod Piercing Co and it was the best decision. I came in for just an earlobe piercing (my first piercing) and even though it was probably a piece of cake for Will, he still handled it professionally, clean, and fast. It was an awesome experience all around, and the price was pretty reasonable. $85 for both ears and some simple jewellery seems pretty good to me for the awesome service. if you want a piercing, go here!

Fantastic! I booked my appointment with ease. I went in, my temp was taken and I also was given sanitizer. I was able to ask all my questions about the piercing I was getting. Sam was my piercer and he was great! He talked to me about everything he was going to do, answered my questions regarding after care, and made me feel comfortable. I needed to get a retainer for my tragus piercing prior to having an MRI so I stopped by Hot Rod Piercing. Tanner helped me make the switch and provided exemplary service. The shop itself is clean, well-organized, and smells great (like incense or essential oils)! Simply put, I was blown away and will NEVER get pierced anywhere else.

This place is amazing. I went in to get my cartilage pierced, and they talked me through the process and made me feel totally at ease through the whole thing. They told me how to care for my piercing, and I havent experienced any complications yet - in fact, its only been a few days since I was there, and the pain and swelling has already faded away almost completely. I LOVED my experience tonight with Jerry. I got my daith and two lower helixs done. It was serendipitous for me to have gone in when he was working. I needed someone like him to keep me calm and to talk me through something I hadnt done in 13 years lol. Hes spiritual, kind hearted, and very down to earth! Went in with my 11 year old daughter today to get her ear lobes pierced. I also got a forward helix done. Tanner was very sweet & made a point to talk to my daughter about choosing earrings & how to care for her piercings, as opposed to just talking to me which is wonderful! Jerry did our piercings & he was AMAZING! Talked to both of us through the whole process & made sure Loralei was happy with the placement. We were all impressed with how great she did. Didnt even blink. Jerry was very professional & meticulous. He made sure we were comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend going here for any piercing! You can really tell Jerry loves & deeply cares about what he does.

Jerry was AMAZING! So friendly and easy to talk to. He made sure I loved the placement of my earring and assured me to ask any questions I wanted! Will, on the other hand, was not so amazing. He was rude, abrasive, and made me feel so uncomfortable that my friend and I almost walked out of the room before her piercings were over.

Awesome place to go, I had my nose done here and it was the best experience I’ve ever had! I’ve always had trouble with the healing process but this was the fastest healing piercing ever!! It was all healed up in about a week! The last time I had my nose done it took months! I highly recommend coming here if you want people that know what they are doing!

This is my go to for anything piercing related since I moved to Pittsburgh. The artists here are so friendly, extremely helpful, very accommodating, and super knowledgeable. They offer a wide selection of jewelry, can custom order things from some of the best companies, and even anodize jewelry right in the store. Will recently performed my bridge piercing for me and everything went perfectly. (2nd try; 1st rejected [done elsewhere]) He assessed why my original bridge piercing may have rejected and explained to me what his solution for a better healing process would be. He obviously knows what hes talking about and I am so happy I put my faith in him. My piercing has healed up beautifully and I had it changed out for a new bar just today, once again having nothing but the best experience. I will be coming back indefinitely.

I wouldnt go anywhere else for my piercings. They are clean, professional, and kind. They took the time to be extra careful placing my piercings so that my medusa and smiley were perfectly centered and wouldnt hook together. Very calming atmosphere. While it does cost more than other piercing places, I think its well worth the money.

Got my lobes pierced by Tanner. Everyone in the shop was super friendly.Tanner let me pick the jewelry and took his time marking the piercings, then let me check it out in the mirror before piercing. Explained everything during the process. Will be returning for any piercings in the future.

I have seen three piercings and one replacement done here, but have not been pierced myself. The people here are fruendly and knowledgable, and take good precautions to keep things sanitary. All 4 customers (friends of mine) who I saw pierced here healed up fine, and were happy with the results.

I couldn’t be happier with my piercing experience here. Although the shop was very busy that Saturday afternoon, the staff was very individually attentive and informative. I had a unique case trying to match a new left nostril piercing with an existing right nostril pericing and William took his time to make sure they were both lined to perfection. Every instrument used was individually packaged and new. A few days later I had an issue with my existing pericing being too tight because William had to place a stud to line the holes up correctly but I came back and he immediately replaced the stud with a longer one to allow swelling with no charge. You’re in good hands here.
