Went to River City for a rook piercing today and had a great experience with Laura ! They had a bit of a wait when I came in but they worked through it thoroughly and were so kind. Laura explained the jewelry variety super well and took me back. The piercing was no time at all, she went through all the aftercare and was so funny & great to work with. The way she pierced I was left with nearly no pain and just pressure. Highly recommend river city and Laura Blue Byrd specifically !

Today I met with the manager, Jessica Simmons. It was a wonderful experience compared to my previous encounter here, where I waited 2 hours only to be denied my navel piercing. After a few emails, Jessica was able to see me and do my navel piercing. It was quick and painless. She was very gentle and made me feel comfortable. Jessica did my piercing free of charge and even gave me an aftercare kit due to my previous bad experience. She truly made up for it! Thank you.

Got my nose pierced. very fast, clean, safe. I use a wheelchair and they had accommodations for the entry step. Thanks for helping me and thanks for the service!

Brought my 5 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. Everyone was so friendly. I completely recommend making appointments for whatever it is you’re getting done. It was packed in there. I took my daughter here to get her ears pierced and the whole experience was professional from beginning to end. Customer service was on point and this place is super clean and takes sanitation seriously, which I so appreciated. Morgan was our piercing guy and he was so thorough it felt like we were in a doctors office. My daughter had a great experience and she loves her earrings. I highly recommend this place and location. I LOVE this place!! From the moment I entered, the most cheerful and kind and positive person met me and my sis to get us started and make the whole process easy and enjoyable for us on our girls day out. Its amazing how the 1st impression upon entering a place can really make or break an experience... and this was the best experience by far I have had in a tattoo and piercing place. If thats not enough already, the 2nd person that helped us was also incredibly kind and cheerful and easy going and knowledgeable. He was so helpful on guiding us on what was best for us while still considering our interests. This mans name was Matt and the 1st woman who was at the front desk was Lily Graham. Ive already laughed and smiled and just had a grand time with my sis and this is just the beginning! I would recommend Anyone to come here! As a person who believes in And loves Jesus, many of these kinds of businesses can be highly offensive.. honestly why its taken me so long to go back to any tattoo/piercing place to get another... but this place is incredibly family friendly, without the myraids of grotesque pictures all over the wall.. instead most are really just artistic, fun and creative and interesting... so many cool things to look at too! Seriously.. they even have tiara! This is the place yo go for any reason., esp if you are a believer and a family person. :) with those two being my first experience here tho... seriously this place cant go wrong.. they are gold and a rare find! There was also this woman that was crossed paths with a couple of times while we were there named Lindsay and she made a point to genuinely connect with us each time. Such incredible people ❤️. Now for the climax of this entire stay... The tattoo artist who did our piercings was above anything we could of even known to anticipate. Her calm and happy manner was genuine and palpable.. she had a charisma that lit up the room, and a professional knowledge and ease that she executed with precision and in a non hurried perfect pace. She even offered us juice at the end.. my sister commented that she could be a surgeon. Lol. I told her I felt like she is the only person that should do piercings ever. Haha. Im floored by our experience today.. its an incredible highlight of our family time together that we will remember and cherish for the rest of our lives. As we left every single one of them were up there just as amazing as at the start of our visit. Just really beautiful and real and gifted individuals. I count it a pleasure and honor to of gone there over another place because I cant imagine EVER going anywhere else!Ok so I gave to update! An amazing woman named Blue did our second set of piercings only the following day after more of our family came into town. Ofcourse we came back to the same place! Lol. The person that greeted us and talked with us was soooo sweet.. I wish I could remember her name.. but one of the men that worked there as a tattoo artist was her hubby. Anyways our experience with Blue was beyond incredible. She was so amicable and gentle and peacable and really good at her job! Its obvious that she is incredibly gifted! Also its been a couple weeks or so and these piercings have all healed marvelously and look amazing! Im so incredibly pleased with this place and the artists and people and just our all around experiences! Our second family time there did not disappoint but shone just as bright! Thanks so much!! We would highly recommend RCT for kids (and adult) piercings! Midge, Brittany, and Evan were amazing with our five year old! They took their time, were engaging, and kept her calm about the process! We could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you!

Kyah was AWESOME!!! She pierced my nipples for me and boy let me tell you i wanna go get them done again just to be around her energy!!! I love rct & all there locations are amazing. It all started with Ashley helping me get scheduled properly with Jessica. She was very helpful and I loved that she contacted me right away when there was a website error with scheduling. Secondly I want to tell you how amazing Jessica is. I had the VCH piercing and was really worried about pain and possible issues. Jessica took the time to explain everything we were going to do before we did it, she took a short health history, took measurements and the piercing was quick and painless. She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable during an intimate and delicate procedure. Her facility is the cleanest I have ever seen anywhere in my thirty years of getting tattoos and piercings. She is very knowledgeable and I will only be going to her for all my future piercings. I completely trust her advice and how she explains everything from beginning to end and the complete healing process as well. I absolutely love her and her staff.

We took our 5 year old daughter to get her ears pierced and had the best experience. The facility was very clean and the staff was very professional. Evan spent 15-20 minutes making sure the placement was perfect. He talked our daughter through every step of the way, letting her know exactly what was going to be done and when. Next came numbing cream, which had sit for about 20-30 minutes. The actual piercing didnt take very long. We loved the fact that it was a tandem piercing, meaning Evan and Ashley pierced both of ears at the same time. She received a goodie bag with cleaning care, stickers and temporary tattoos. Overall our experience was great and it was well worth the cost to make sure it was done correctly.

My 10 year old daughter got her ears pierced at River City Tattoo today by Evan & Kyah. We couldn’t have had a better experience. My daughter, who is afraid of everything, even gives it two thumbs up! I will recommend to anyone who will listen.

The absolute best place for your kid to get their ears pierced. We took both our daughters here and the experience is top notch. They take their time and are so sweet with the kids, even giving them a little goodie bag and certificate once they are done. There is a wide selection of earrings and I really love that they offer flat backs. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. It is the prime example of “you get what you pay for”.

River City is always good and I’ve had several piercings done there previously. Always safe, professional, efficient with paperwork, and a wonderful selection of jewelry. My most recent visit was an impulse drop-in and I just happened to get Linzi as my piercer…she was amazing! She helped me through my decision-making and had wonderful suggestions! She’s an amazing technician and an even better person! 5 stars only because I can’t give more!!!

Jessica Simmons has done 3 of my piercings with the first one being when I was 18 years old which was 24 years ago. I am now 43 and she’s done both my tragus piercings several years ago and she just did my floating naval piercing today. She is thorough, kind, patient, and such a wonderful human being. She took her time with me and showed me tons of jewelry options and never once got frustrated because she was with me for a while. I’ve always been impressed with how friendly and respectful everyone is at River City Tattoo! I highly recommend them! Thanks again Jess for being so great at what you do! ☺️

We came to RCT for earpiercing for an 8 year old and a nose piercing for an adult and we will never go anywhere else! The kindest people ever! We came in and everybody was very warm and welcoming. Everybody was incredible and our artist did a phenomenal job on our tattoos. It was a very safe environment and we all felt more than comfortable here. I would 1000% recommend!!

Jessica was amazing. This was my first piercing (besides my ears that were pierced when I was a baby) and I got my septum pierced. Ive been wanting this piercing for a while and it was a wonderful experience and Jessica made me feel so comfortable. I got my piercing at Galaxy Con in San Jose. I love that I was able to have this experience at this convention and I look forward to seeing them at con next year!

My daughter got second piercings on her lobes with Mikey and it was a fantastic experience. My daughter easily scheduled an appointment online and when we arrived everyone we interacted with was helpful and friendly, and the process was clean and very well done, and after care instructions were thorough. My daughter said Mikey made her feel very confident and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Had a great experience when taking my child in for an ear piercing at River City Tattoo. Friendly front desk staff, very clean studio, and it all went very fast. Brittany and Kyah were amazing. They explained everything to my daughter before they did it. We walked out very happy clients. I would highly recommend them to all parents!

The prices here for piercings are pricey but they’re done so well I can’t complain. I got 2 helix piercings done and first off- cleanest piercing shop I’ve been to. Secondly- the people working there are angels, they’re so kind and understanding. Third- I wanted a woman to pierce me and they didn’t question me and instantly made it work! I absolutely love this place, I’ll definitely be coming back.

I brought my newly minted 8 year old for ear piercing and was very impressed with the ease of the process and the experience with the piercers. My daughter was nervous but Kyah and Evan were kind and put her at ease. It was great having two piercers to make the process quick! 5 years ago I brought my oldest to this same location and had a great experience then as well. I like that the piercing package includes after care supplies so we are set up for success. I would definitely recommend this location for safe, professional kid piercings.

We took our child here to get her ears pierced and overall had a great experience. Everyone was nice, space was clean, staff informative. Her ears looked great after. My only downside is they told us it would be $200 (for the child package & the earring we chose), which we were fine with. After I checked out I didn’t realize until later that the price was much much higher. They charged 175 for the package then 80 for the earring for a total $255. We also tipped $40 on top of that so the grand total was a bit over $300 after taxes. I can appreciate good work and how well they did, but just a little in shock over the price especially after we were told it was less before. We should’ve said something when we were there, but commuted from out of town and didn’t realize til we checked our bank later.

My piercer Morgan was FANTASTIC. He’s uber professional, experienced, and actually has travelled the country as a Special Guest Artist and worked at MANY well-renowned locations. I’ve had a few piercings before, but nothing like this and was nervous. He took his time to explain things, answered all of my questions and more, and while working was able to help keep me calm and distracted by having honest, thoughtful conversation!! It was so great. Discovered them at Galaxycon! I was looking to get a flat piercing after my last one was mispositioned from a different shop. The experience was 5/5! Jessica was extremely nice and explained the process to me as we went. Im really bad with names so I already forgot the girl at the front who explained the pricing to me, but she was wonderful!I ended up also buying the full sized aftercare from them as well because they were so nice.

I got my nose pierced at an Animate convention. Jessica Simmons owner of River City Tattoo, talked me through the entire process. I originally was going to have my nose pierced on each side but once she put the dots on my nose she could tell I was indecisive. Jessica suggested doing the two piercings on the same side. Yes!!! That is exactly what I wanted! It was not as painful as I expected. Very professional, very clean, and gave me excellent instructions on the aftercare. They also sold the aftercare products, which is very convenient. Highly recommend RCT and Jessica Simmons.

I never leave reviews and rarely willingly wait in lines but had to in this case. I walked in for a long-awaited nose piercing and immediately connected with Kyah. She is incredibly talented, warm, enthusiastic and immediately put me at ease. Cant recommend enough but DO recommend you schedule an appointment as youll likely have to wait to be seen. The wait was well worth it, her placement was awesome on the first try, and made the whole experience easy, fast, painless and fun. Shes my go to recommendation for any friends in RVA getting a piercing.

I took my 4 year old to get her ears pierced and she was very nervous. Brittany and Kyah were so patient with her, talked to her the whole time and reassured her. They let her take her time to get comfortable and cheered her on when she started to show she was scared. They were absolutely amazing. Very clean and sanitary too. Front desk and other staff in the front were also so friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend!!!

I got my daughter earrings pierced, no issues with that after 4 weeks one of the earrings broke, i found it. Went back to get the earring replaced or to get a back pierce.Was a horrible customer service, i paid extra for some ‘insurance’ 😂 the lady was trying to charge me 20$ for the back, it literally cost them probably 5$ to give me a back and make a customer happy.Don’t pay extra for their insurance and “fancy” earrings for the babies. Waist of money and terrible customer service after the initial appointment that cost me 280$ for baby earrings piercing.

Took my daughter to get her first ear piercing. The staff was fabulous. They put my nervous kid at ease and she is super excited about her new piercings. Everything was also super clean and the staff was super professional.

Kyah went out of her way to make my kids ear piercing experience as painless as possible. We commuted there after it being recommended by multiple people. Best decision ever! She gave them juice, numbed their ears, talked them through every step, and did both sides at the same time with an assistant. She was very kid friendly. They left with a whole bag full of goodies. She answered all our questions and gave great after care advice. We will definitely be back for our younger one’s turn. If you are looking for a great kids piercing place, this is it.

RCT is my go-to for piercings! Most recently I had Linzi for my belly button (navel) piercing. I had it done for about 10 years and then took it out for the last few years, so this was my second time having it pierced. It was completely painless and Linzi was able to go in the same spot it was pierced before. I feel like a teenager again and I love it! Thank you Linzi and RCT!

Blue was amazing through my daith piercing! Calm, soft spoken, clearly explained everything she was doing as she was doing it. I’ve gotten four piercing done at RCT each time I remember having a good experience. The staff makes you feel very welcomed and they are so kind. Today I went in to get my nostril piercing checked and to downsize my snakebite piercings. I ended up needing custom sized posts for my snakebites which Kyah, the piercer helping me was happy to accommodate. I love how the piercers walk you through everything and answer any questions you may have. Overall I highly recommend getting piercings done here!

Took my (almost 1 year old) daughter to get her ears pierced and I was blown away by Kyah & Evan. They were SO sweet and just absolutely amazing with my girl. I took my 8 year old to get her ears pierced. Kyah and Linzi were amazing! They took so much time making sure placement was perfect not only now but also as she grows. DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE!!!!!! I went in for a simple jewelry swap for my ear loads. I was left alone with an apprentice, who proceeded to ruin my earlobes, because they couldn’t find the back hole for each ear. I didn’t get a chance to catch their name because I was so upset, but it was the tall Caucasian with long brunette hair and bangs. They kept poking each ears back-and-forth about three different times. They couldn’t get it through and only stopped after I told them I had started bleeding out of one ear from all their attempts. They then proceeded to get another apprentice, who was able to do it fairly quickly, but the damage was already done to my earlobes, and all the healing that my lobes have done were wasted. I would not recommend coming to this establishment for any types of piercing even if it’s with one of the mentors if they can’t even teach their apprentices to do simple, earlobe swaps. Their tattoo artists are all great people highly recommend if you do wish to go for any type of Japanese traditional work. I got a lucky frog when i went for my tattoo appointment

My experience was horrible I went august 8, 2024 I waited over and hour and a half when All I was doing was having a new piece of jewelry out in place of my old one. So after two hours I had to actually buy the jewelry and come home and watch you tube videos to tell me how to replace it. I will never take my business there for any reason and I didint even get any type of discount for my two hour wait not even I’m sorry nothing they were EXTREMELY RUDE and I used to think so highly of them I’ll from here on out go somewhere else in Richmond unless they can fix or redeem this problem somehow

We cant recommend enough for our recent baby ear piercing experience! From the very beginning, Kyan, Evan and Brittany were incredibly professional and calming.During the piercing itself, Kyan was incredibly gentle and efficient. Lexplained each step clearly and kept our baby as comfortable as possible.We are so happy with how the piercings look - they are perfectly aligned and just what we wanted. Absolutely great. My daughter had asked to get her ears pierced and she was finally responsible enough to do it. They took the time to explain everything not only to parents but also to her. I brought my 4 year old daughter in to get her ears pierced and we had the BEST experience with Kyah and Brittany! They made her feel comfortable from the beginning by talking her through everything and allowing her to ask questions. They then spent time marking her ears to get the perfect placement of the earrings and making sure I was also happy with it. Numbing medicine was applied for about 20 minutes and they gave her a juice box during this time, which she loved. The actual ear piercing was so fast and she barely felt it after the numbing cream. Kyah and Brittany brought her a goodie bag at the end, making sure that she remembered the whole thing as a positive experience. I highly recommend bringing your kids here to get their ears pierced (or yourself as an adult)!

Brought my daughter in to get ears pierced. Thought it was going to be in and out but they took the time to place the holes in the correct spot so it was even on the the head not even on the lobe. Morgan was awesome with her and helped her to relax and be at ease. It was a great experience and will recommend anyone looking to get childrens ears pierced to go here. I can not thank our awesome piercer Kyah enough for handling my baby girl’s ear piercing! She was SO good with my 11 month old daughter. She took the time to not only make sure she did a fantastic job on the piercing but also helped my daughter feel more at ease with the whole process! We will defiantly be back to Kyah in the future for anymore piercing needs!!!

Called in advance and asked for rate for a piercing and was quoted $65-$70 over the phone, got to the shop and was told $85 with taxes, ended up paying $91. i dont like omission and inconsistency. if it was going to be $91, they should have just came out and said so.

My 6yr old daughter got her ears pierced here and the staff was phenomenal. The room we were in was clean, the instructions given were clear, and the whole experience is one my daughter will remember forever. She was so excited to go through the process, pick out her earrings, and be informed every step of the way of what will happen next. I wouldnt take my child anywhere else!

Brandon Saunders was amazing as always, his work is phenomenal and interactions are always good.Morgan- if you’re looking for someone to pierce your kiddos ears that is the life of the party keeping you and your kids happy, he’s your guy. Me and my wife took our 7 year old daughter to get her ears pierced at RCT. Were very happy we did! Jess and Linzi did the piercing, and did an amazing job! The piercings came out perfect! She didnt feel a thing. They made our daughter feel happy and comfortable. Well be back in 8-10 weeks. Highly recommended!

Took my daughter for a nose piercing and to switch out her previous piercing earring. The staff is always on point. Great customer service and they are so attentive. Matt (crazy legs) was great and Shawn (angle fingers) was our piercer today and he was amazing! Dad jokes and all! As usual will always return. Over the top customer service, great vibes and quality products.

So this is how it is supposed to be done! This was such a great experience. On a college tour with my daughter and we stopped in to get a second ear piercing. Linzi was amazing! Everything was so clean and the staff there clearly knows what they are doing. Highly recommend!!!

Sorry.)To put it bluntly; I got both of my eyebrows pierced at Galaxy Con in OKC this year (2024) and i had an AMAZING time and experience! My piercer was Mr. Morgan and he was so genuine and honest. I had a great experience with him.To go more into detail about WHY i loved my experience:He made sure that i was comfortable, and confident if i wanted to move the placement of my new piercings. And he communicated clearly and calmly. I felt safe around him and i felt good overall that someone as nice and badass as him was gonna be piercing me. He earned my trust quick. He did not hesitate to take the time and try to align my piercings and make it look good according to my face so it wouldn’t look odd; which i LOVED. I also made him aware of my scar from my old eyebrow piercing that ripped out and he did a great job with helping me find a good placement that i liked that would avoid it. I just love my new piercings.I could go on and on about the experience, it’s definitely a cool story to tell when people ask where i got my piercings. I had zero issues except for one:I just wish your company was closer to OKC so i could come back more often! 😂Two thumbs up! 👍👍

All I needed was a jewlery change, but if I want a piercing, Ill go back to Kyah.I called ahead asking about reservations, and they were booked for the day, but was informed I could try as a walk-in. When I showed up, I got lucky and only had to wait around 20-30 minutes (just as Id been told). Everyone was super nice and helpful, and they seemed organized. I had a few questions about jewelery allergies that the person at the front desk was more than happy to find the answer to.Kyah was awesome. Very friendly and helpful, and had a gentle approach, which I appreciated. Great communication (letting me know each step). Ill for sure be back to her for any piercings.

They took their time and did everything right, in a loving way. They respected the girls, explaining each step without talking down to them. When they realized our daughters ears would be more comfortable with a different style, they happily started over.Tremendous service and care. I can see why RCT is beloved in Richmond.

We had a wonderful experience at RCT! We took our 5 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. From the initial phone call booking the appointment to the piercing-great experience! Everyone was so friendly & kind. They made sure Charlotte was happy & helped ease her nerves. Their attention to detail was amazing. I went to go get my nipples pierced and my piercer, Mikey made it painless and easy. She also used to short bars and pierced one incorrectly. The shop tried to swap the bars but after around 15minutes of crying and them trying I got a refund and left because it was extremely painful. The shop was good but dont go to Mikey for a nipple piercing it was a unpleasant expirence that resulted in a ton of pain.

I love river city tattoo! I’ve gotten a total of 5 piercings here: my second and third lobes on both sides and my rook. They are super nice and understanding.

Linzi and Kyah were amazing with our girl! They made her feel so at ease and comfortable. I highly recommend, so much so that my sister in law and I are thinking about coming in and getting our ears done again. I wish I had known about this when I got my ears pierced when I was younger.

I got a tattoo done at GalaxyCon by Dan and am very disappointed in it. With my other tattoos Ive always gotten to see them before wrap up and this time I didnt he just put the bandage on. When I got the bandage off at home to clean it later that night I saw that it wasnt even finished. He made some comments while tattooing that made me uncomfortable as well. It makes me regret getting my tattoo done especially since I have to get it finished at a local shop. Otherwise the rest of the artists were chill and super helpful.

I went to river city for my daughter’s ear piercing. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. The staff was so kind and patient with my daughter who is naturally an anxious and nervous one. They had their emotional support stuffed animal named Popcorn that my daughter held onto tightly. The staff was super thorough and listened to any and all of our questions. I could not be happier with our experience and my daughter’s ear piercing!!

I got my septum pierced by Nigel, and for my first face piercing I had a great experience. I loved that he talked to me a lot, it definitely made me a lot less nervous. Bo and Maisie did a fabulous job with our 6 year olds ear piercings! They were professional, kind, and explained every step to my daughter throughout the process. Their technique was perfect and we ended up with beautifully pierced, symmetrical, clean piercings. They explained aftercare 100% and sent us home with great products to ensure they stayed healthy and clean! I’ll be bringing my two year old there once she’s 6:) Don’t waste time going anywhere else!

I called the store to ask about a single piece of jewelry. No big stones or crazy designs. Just a simple ring to put in while my new piercing heals.. I was quoted 60$ dollars! That is insane to me. What makes them so expensive at this company when you can order the same quality or better for around 30-40$? I totally understand quality comes at a price but even a quality version of the jewelry I was looking for is not 60$ retail value. No thanks RCT 👎

Scheduled an appointment for our 9 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for her birthday. It was an absolutely wonderful experience all around. Kyah was wonderful in talking with our daughter and making her super comfortable. She went through every step and was very thorough to get everything just right. Very thorough in keeping things clean and sterile throughout. Maisie came in as a 2nd set of eyes and foe the tandem piercing. Also very good at keeping her comfortable. I took my 2 year old daughter here to repierce her ears and omg they were amazing! A friend recommended River City Tattoo and I was a bit skeptical knowing that some tattoo/piercing shops aren’t kid friendly but they surprised me! Everything was so clean and dealt with the utmost professionalism! The piercers and staff were all so SO friendly and accommodating for a terrified (screaming) 2 year old! Our piercers were patient and kind and even recruited someone from the front desk just to hold my phone that was playing baby shark in attempt to comfort my sweet girl! When it was all over they gave my daughter a brave kid certificate and a goody bag with some stickers that she LOVED! 10/10 experience would give them a million stars if I could!!! My daughters ears look fantastic and I couldn’t be happier with our experience! Mamas this is definitely the place to take your little ones for piercings!!

The jewelry offered for an Initial nipple piercing was limited to threadless. Lost one end a week after the initial piercing. Replaced for free(minus my time). Bought sleeping bras. Less than a month later the same ball came out. Staff couldnt find the price of a ball replacement so determined 30 dollars just to replace one ball. Not happy. But paid and tipped. Less than a month later the SAME ball fell out. I just took out that piercing because I cant spend 30 dollars every month to replace garbage jewelry that I paid premium for.Im so disappointed because this is my 2nd time having my nipples pierced. The first was a nightmare with no healing. This time they were healing BEAUTIFULLY and I loved them. Now Im uneven and out lots of money and time and feel not stoked when I see myself in a mirror.

I had lash line enhancement done by Ashleigh Henderson and she is absolutely amazing! She is extremely knowledgeable and explained the procedure thoroughly before I set my appointment and then again on the day I went in to have it done. She was able to answer all of my questions beforehand so that I was completely comfortable with what she was going to do. She used lidocaine and she has a very light touch so it was surprisingly very easy to sit through. She’s a total sweetheart and she really made my appointment fun. She did a beautiful job and I would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in having cosmetic tattooing done!

I cannot say enough amazing things about River City Tattoo Co.!! My 9yo has the cutest dimples in her ears.. which created some work for the piercers to figure out the best placement. They did not rush through it, but instead brought in four sets of eyes for opinions, confirmation and approval. They took their time to make sure they were in the best possible placement and would look good as she continues to grow. Everyone single person who came in confirmed with me no latex allergies before putting gloves on. They each explained to her in detail what they were doing, before they did it, so there were no surprises. They all chatted with her and gave compliments, putting her at ease and choosing words carefully to build her confidence. They asked her if she wanted to hold my hand/encouraged her to invite me into their space if it made her more comfortable. They went above and beyond professional. Every person we encountered from the time we walked in, at the front desk and in the piercing room, until we walked out was so inviting. I could not be more thankful for this entire experience!! We took my daughter to get her ears pierced and everyone couldnt have been nicer. From the office staff to the piercers, everyone was awesome. Evan (long brown hair) did a fantastic job preparing her for what to expect and was very considerate during the whole process. The second piercer was equally as considerate and caring and they both helped my daughter feel completely comfortable and safe. 10/10 recommend for kids and all piercing needs.

This shop has amazing tattoo artists! My only issue is I have gone to them since 2017 until current day and sadly my experience with just about every time I’ve tried to get a piercing I really don’t enjoy the experience at all. Not anything to do with the people who do them ( has been one or two over many years) more so the people at the counter. It just seems like almost every single trip I’ve taken to them for piercings has not been pleasant as I get the feeling that the shop in general isn’t really upholding the quality of service that they claim to have. Each time I get a completely different set of questions or I’m made to feel more like an inconvenience to get service. The jewelry is nice but I just wish that it felt like there was some consistency in what to expect other than feeling like there’s an issue with just trying to get a piercing. I will say Blu is fantastic and does great every time I’ve interacted with them so if you do wanna go for piercings I’d ask for them. I also don’t doubt other may have a different experience than my friends and I but this is just my experience.

A few months back, my 6 year old got her ears pierced here and everything was amazing. The staff was friendly. She was a little nervous but they explained everything to her which helped calm her nerves. Hole placement was checked three times before doing the piercing. We went with the tandem piercing and everything went smoothly. After it was done, she received a certificate and goody bag which was a nice little touch.

Got my 3yo daughters ear lobes done and my helix at the same time. The environment was calm, and clean! The ladies there were professional, kind and took their time to make sure she was comfortable and happy. They allowed me to go first so my daughter could watch and become happy and understand what was about to happen. I truly appreciate all the ladies did for us! I did my research and I was extremely happy with our experience. Will definitely come back for any of my future piercings and tattoo needs!

Took my 8 year old to get her ears pierced for the first time. The staff went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable, informed, and the piercing was as quick as possible.The attention to detail was exceptional. 3 piercers to view markings and ensure they were centered. They even had a gift bag with temporary tattoos and stickers, aftercare included.I was initially terrified as we just moved here and I wasnt familiar with shops in the area, but this place was recommended for childrens ear piercings and has great reviews so we finally decided to go ahead and schedule an appt. Im so glad we did. Worth the hour drive out there and I will be back for my piercings and tattoos as well.

If you are contemplating getting your little ones ears pierced, look no further! I made an appointment with Kyah and Evan and I am so pleased with the entire experience. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with smiles. Kyah showed my daughter all the beautiful earrings they had to choose from and they even had a cool tool where they could put the earring against their ear to see what it would look like 😊. My daughter was a little nervous as to be expected, but they both made a point to let her know exactky what they were doing during the process. They also use lidocaine to numb prior to the earrings being put in. Highly recommend and thank you for making this a beautiful experience 💓💓💓

Maisie and Jess did a great job being positive and quick to pierce my 5yo’s ears. Everything was nice and clean and despite having twin 1yo’s with us, it was a great experience! Would definitely recommend for children as they were very thoughtful about placement based on growth.

She was really accommodating with a change of my tattoo and decent pricing for the outline work. Scheduled another appt for color and shading. Increasing to 3 stars just because of her.6/1/23 - Within the last few days I have made contact with Danielle for my anime tattoo; which will be done in phases per her suggestion. We sat together and built my desired look and scheduled a potential date to begin in 2 weeks time. The original artist I tried to meet with contacted me about doing the tattoo that was requested May 17th. I assume she was not informed of the switch in artists.5/28/23 - Spoke with the owner of the shop via email & by phone regarding my experience. She offered to facilitate a consultation with a new artist that may be more suitable to my desired tattoo. It will take a few days due to the Memorial holiday, creating, etc. She was highly apologetic and understanding. Also provided my communications w/ the other artists to assist w/ the consultation and attempts to schedule. Updating to 3 stars for quickly responding from a 1 star.I have been a returning customer for over 20 yrs between piercing and tattoos (space in between). The communication with artists has went down hill after Charlie left; who tattooed me last. I have been trying to get tattooed since July of last year; between 3 different artists and 2 different designs. No longer desire my 1st design attempt that took over 3 1/2 hrs for a consultation; which left me un-inked. Did a walk-in and was referred to an anime specialist. That never replied to my email inquiry after informing the receptionist that she was interested in doing the tattoo. Attempt to contact another artist in the shop, assuming the last was booked. Still no response after texting & calling the shop to follow up. Totally understand being busy with other appointments and creating. But I would appreciate some communication on if the design can be done or even refer me to an artist thats available.

Got my nose piercing done at galaxycon in Oklahoma by you guys and its healing fast! I did as you suggested for vitamins to increase healing process, washing it and cleaning it, best place to get a piercing!

RCT is a phenomenal place. Everyone was welcoming, polite and super helpful. I made a same day appointment for a piercing and they were on time. Nigel was awesome. Very professional and the entire place was clean. I will definitely be back.

Overall pretty happy with the process at RCTC. The intake process was quick, even with it being busy. Everyone was friendly, and the actual piercings themselves took maybe 5 - 10 minutes. The only “meh” moment for me was the checkout. I always tip, but I didn’t like that their software calculates tip (which is typically service-driven) on the entire shopping cart, which in my case included earrings. So just as FYI for those who typically tip on the higher end, like me, to keep that in mind. Even though I selected the pre-calculated option @15%, the $29 tip actually translates to roughly 44%.

We had the BEST experience today! My 6 year old went to get her ears pierced. Bo was so amazing with her! I couldn’t believe the level of professionalism for Children’s ear piercing. He calmly explained each step of the process to my daughter and kept her at ease the entire time. He was so kind. Angie was amazing too! If you’re looking for jewelry make sure to double check the measurements. It doesn’t seem like too many members of the staff have proper knowledge to do so, including the manager. For Christmas I was gifted a pair of plugs from this shop. The person who bought them doesn’t know much about sizing but had the correct measurements saved on his phone from ordering a pair online a couple months before. He thought he could trust the shop that “boasts one of the largest body jewelry collections in the nation” to help him out. Anyway, he asks for a pair of 1 1/4” plugs and they start measuring different pairs. The first person to help him didn’t know enough to answer the questions he had so they went and got the manager to help him. Unfortunately she didn’t think to use the calipers they had laying around to measure the jewelry. Instead she used a little wheel that only measures up to 1” | 25.5mm. 1 1/4” is 32mm, so there’s a bit of a size difference there. But she was reading 1” | 25.5 as 1.25” (with an extra .5 on the end?). And even though he said more than once they look too small she told him they were measuring the right size. I get it, we’re all human, we all make mistakes. But it was their refusal to fix the problem they caused that was the issue. He had to go back 3 days in a row, starting with the day after Christmas, before they agreed to refund the money to a gift card. We ended up spending twice as much for a pair that was actually the right size. Thankfully someone who knew how to use a caliper was able to stop and help on his way out. And now that I’m typing this out I realize not only is the jewelry overpriced but they overcharged him because they didn’t know how to measure. All this to say, save yourself the trouble and money and just order your jewelry online. Anything they have in the shop you can find online for a fraction of the cost.

We had a wonderful experience getting my 7 year old daughter’s ears pierced. The staff was all super kind, patient and spoke at her level to walk through expectations and care instructions. They were also very careful to place the holes evenly between both ears. Would definitely recommend!

Kyah was so engaging with my daughter, had conversations, made her feel SO comfortable, and explained everything they were going to do. They took ample time making sure the placement was perfect and explained why the placement was so important for the little ears. I absolutely loved the attention to detail! The numbing cream worked so well and my daughter said it didn’t hurt at all! She got a little package with stickers and a little hand held mirror that I swear she looked at the entire afternoon to evaluate her earrings! She adores them and I could not be happier! THANK YOU Kyah for the perfect experience and Evan for doing a fantastic job making it pain free. 10000/10 recommend!

One father came back with his daughter, saying she lost the back of her earrings, and that was handled right away. It was recommended I go there and I am glad I did.

Went yesterday to get my baby’s ears pierced as well as my sister with Down syndrome who is 14 and wanting her ears pierced - the piercers Kyah and Linzi were SO accommodating. It went a million times better than expected and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this location for children’s piercing especially if you have a child that might need accommodations or is nervous but wants their ears pierced. AMAZING customer service!

I took my 8 year old son to get his ears pierced and Linzi & Evan did an amazing job! They pierced his ears at the same time and he didn’t even cry. They numbed his ears with cream for 20 mins before piercing as well. Thank you so much for the great experience!

Not only did they have a large selection of earrings for us to pick from, but they offer tandem piercings, numb the ear beforehand, and offer the utmost patience and friendliness with children that makes them feel more comfortable!!! I arrived at River City greeted by Mickie, she assisted me & my daughters needs. She answered all our questions & explained her agreement before I signed. She was very nice & professional & I felt very comfortable with her. If you go to River City on the Blvd, ask for Mickie you wont be disappointed.

My go to tattoo and piercing shop! Super friendly and very smart employees! Super clean place. Took my 16 year old there to get her nose pierced twice! The only place in rva that I trust with my children! 10 out of 10 would recommend this place for urself and ur teenagers! The gentleman that pierced my daughter has done both of her piercings! Very professional guy! Told me and my daughter exactly what we need to do to keep her piercings clean and sanitized. He Definitely made me feel comfortable as a dad. Went in to get my septum pierced, and my son wanted to start the gauging process for his ears. Nigel was great! He and all the staff (I’m so sorry, I forget the sweet girl’s name at the front desk) were friendly, upbeat, very helpful. We were in and out in no time. Will definitely be going back for all future piercings!

My 8 year old daughter had her ears pierced today by Evan and Kyah and they were a GREAT team. Highly recommend. They took their time to mark her ears so carefully, making sure they had them perfectly even, and were SO SO sweet to her. I need a cover-up tattoo myself and plan to go back after such a wonderful experience with them today.

Our 7 year got her ears pierced with Linzi and Kyah, and we had an awesome experience. They were so professional, and helped her understand exactly what would happen, and she barely felt discomfort and the whole experience was pleasant. Her earrings look amazing, and are healing beautifully! This is not the cheap path for piercing but after having trouble myself with the cheapest option, it is worth the expense to have a good, healthy experience. Highly recommend!

They made sure my daughter was comfortable with every step. I was so impressed with how well they cared for her. I wish I had had this experience with my first piercing. Just got my nose pierced @ RCT by Kyah! Everything was a breeze! From setting up the appointment, to parking and ultimately getting pierced. Kyah was very knowledgeable about different types of jewelry I could get and aftercare/healing of my piercing. The piercing itself was quick & not that painful! Shawn was amazing!!! I went in for a double nose piercing. He was expertly instrumental in truly listening to my concerns and helped me to understand not only my unique issue of piercings taking years to heal, but how to mitigate this issue. He made sure to use a longer bar for the stud piercing as this will assist in not resurrecting the same circumstances as I have had previously and making it easier to keep clean. He listened carefully to my request for a hoop as well. Easier to clean and cutting healing time down substantially. Please note that this is not typical....it is just what seems to work for me and is how I healed my tragus piercing. Shawn made sure that the jewelry I picked would facilitate not only the aesthetically pleasing look I was seeking, but that it would also would be functional for my particular circumstance. I leaned on Shawns expertise & 20+ of experience heavily and was not disappointed in any way. I am quite satisfied and extremely happy with the entire experience. The customer service by all was outstanding. The cleanliness was top tier. The wait time was short, considering I was a walk-in on a Saturday evening, no less. If I ever choose to have any further work done, I will only come here. I am new to Richmond and made my decision to choose River City Tattoo based on the Google reviews. Great customer service. Poor piercer. I have 20 piercing, never have I had any issues with any of them. I came here today for my septum, never been to river city before just wanted to try a new place. Piercer was unfriendly, didn’t explain any of what she was doing, and the piercing is the slightest bit crooked. Just enough for me to notice. She was incredibly slow when piercing. Never have I experienced anything quite like that. I kept thinking she was finished, until I heard a pop, then another pop. My friend even mentioned he had never seen anything like that before. I paid 105$ for the piercing alone. Complete waste of money to go here for piercings. Wish I didn’t have to take it out. extremely disappointed..

Didn’t start off great, I had an appointment but had to wait more than an hour because only one piercer would pierce my tongue because I was a minor. He was calm and organized though so I would recommend. They also called back later on to check on my healing which I think is nice.

I took my 9 year old daughter to get her ears pierced and it was a wonderful experience. I felt like the whole staff was there to take care of us. Our piercer, Bo, was amazing! He walked us through the whole process, made sure that we understood what was going on and how to care for her piercings. He spoke directly to my daughter the whole time, answered her questions, and made sure that she was comfortable from start to finish. It didn’t hurt at all, she giggled when he did the piercing! She was never in pain throughout her recovery. They gave her a little goody bag at the end which topped off a great experience. Yes, it is more expensive than some other options but based on the experience, the time spent to do it right, the many staff members to aid us, and the safety of the process it was well worth it.

My 14 year old daughters, each got piercings… One got her second ear piercing and my other daughter got her septum pierced. Morgan was amazing. I am so glad that we found him and will return to him should they want any other piercings. He was extremely professional, the facility is so clean. I felt like I was in a surgical room! Both of my daughters felt very comfortable, and are so happy with her piercings. I only wish that we came here first for their first ear piercings that we got elsewhere.

DO NOT GET PIERCINGS HEREhad to come back three times for them to give me the right sized nose ring, after I bought two for almost a $100 (huge scam btw) and it STILL wasn’t the right size. I didn’t feel like going back-and-forth for the 4 time. Not to mention the new ring they gave me wasn’t clean and gave me a MAJOR infection ( I never have infections I have over 6 piercings) I had to remove the ring and now my nose will close up and I will have to repay to get it done. NO WAY IN HELL IT WILL BE AT RIVER CITY. Do better. Take my advice and go somewhere else.

If you’re looking to get a piercing, river city is the place to go! The staff is top-notch. I have been here several times and am always so impressed by the professionalism, efficiency, and friendliness of the piercers! They’ve always been great about explaining the process, answering any questions, and going over the aftercare instructions. I love that they take the time to check, and then double-check, that the location/sizing of the piercing is correct. The rooms are all very clean— and private! I definitely recommend RCT for your next piercing.

My 7-year-old got a tandem ear piercing for her birthday here. It was the best possible experience! Kya made her feel so comfortable and relaxed, and even made it fun. The women who helped us were professional and attentive. It was not cheap, and it did take some time, but totally worth it. The goody bag of stickers, temporary tattoos, and care supplies was a nice touch.

My 9-year-old had her ears pierced for the first time here. The staff and piercers were amazing! They made sure the holes would be even and had soooooooo much patience for my daughter when she almost lost her nerve. Her piercings have been healing beautifully and I know they would help us if we have any issues.

The piercings are even and healing is going much more smoothly than I have experienced at other locations, or expected. She received fun items with her aftercare kit and a certificate, and loves her new pierced ears! We would definitely recommend RCT to others!
