I recently visited this place for a cover-up, and I couldnt be happier with the results! I had an old tattoo that I was never fond of, and after years of considering my options, I finally decided to trust Hung with the job. Let me tell you, their skill is unmatched!The attention to detail and creativity in the design blew me away. They listened to all my ideas, understood my vision, and managed to create something far beyond my expectations. The cover-up looks flawless, and you can’t even tell there was an old tattoo underneath. Its like a brand-new piece of art that I’m proud to show off!Look no further if you wanna get the best work in the city!

Got a tattoo 4-5 years ago that was not done very well at all. Been embarrassed by it for quite some time. Called Hungs and was able to get in for a quick consult for reworking my tattoo. The second he started rattling off ideas - I knew I was in the right spot. Few weeks later got in (bigger tattoo). Cant believe what a great job he did basically redoing most of it. Highly recommend this place - great people - great work!

I contacted hung to get a very complicated cover-up of a cover-up done. Super chill dude and great to sit in his chair and have a conversation. Even better is that he has great vision and made something that was a bit of a mess into something beautiful. Highly recommend and cant wait to go back.

I didnt catch the artists name as I had called earlier in the day and was simply told that I could make an appointment for later the same day, and I assume I was just tattooed by whom ever was available at the time of my appointment, but the artist was very very sweet and did an amazing job. I was a little bit nervous because I was getting a rather small fine line tattoo and didnt want the lines to be made too thick but she did an amazing job and I will definitely be back for more tattoos at some point.

Hung is genuine, friendly, and great at holding a conversation. I stumbled upon his website and called to schedule an consultation to see if hed be willing to do a cover up which was not an easy task. He brain stormed some ideas and went to work. My tattoos insane. The detail. Line work. Attention to detail is over the top. I am blown away and extremely grateful I met Hung. Thanks so much man youve been a blessing to me and my company.

Hung does a great job! He can create something unique from your ideas and he is fast and prices are reasonable. I was looking for a new person to do my tattoos and was looking on line and I read a lot of the reviews and I have to say that he lived up to every good review he has out there. I sent a message And got a message back immediately and that impressed me. I was in for a council within 24 hours of our first contact with each other. Hung fixed an old tattoo that was way too dark and helped me come up with a way to add my grand daughters names. I’m not very artistic and he totally helped me with the design. Hung made me feel very comfortable and was very easy to talk to while he did my tattoo. I am very happy with my experience at Hung’s tattoo parlor!!!! I went to Hungs shop because of these amazing ratings. Its all pretty much true! Hung was so great to chat with, very funny, and very welcoming! His daughter was also wonderfully kind. She is the one who actually did my super simple tattoo, and she did a great job! In my excitement, I didnt notice some small things about the tattoo design that should have been different. His daughter went ahead with the tattoo the way she had designed it. Later on, after the adrenaline of my excitement died down, I noticed those things I wanted to change, so my friends and I went back the same day, super late in the evening. They so, so kindly let me get my tattoo fixed. My friend also got a tattoo super last minute and they were also very kind about it. Hung did some amazing free-hand work on my friends tattoo. Everything turned out beautifully! I cannot recommend them enough! Im definitely going back again for my next tattoo!

Got my first tattoo here (second total) and absolutely loved it! Hung was super chill when my brother and I came in, and he was pretty funny too. He made us feel comfortable and welcome in the shop. He also was extremely patient with me since I asked him to redo my tattoo outline thing 3 times haha. His pricing was far more reasonable than other shops, and normally I wouldnt be concerned, but for what I was getting (2 small words), I found it unnecessary for it to be $100 (at a different shop). Also, Hung being from San Diego, he was able to give me and my brother some recommendations on places to visit. Overall, great experience, highly recommend everyone come here for their tattoos!

Came to St Paul for a concert and wanted to commemorate the vacation with a tattoo and Hung and Trish were amazing and fit me and my friends in on short notice. They treated our group and the others in the shop like we were all one big family.

Hungs Tattoo Parlor was the place I decided on after extensive googling of tattoo parlors near me. In the beginning I was a little hesitant, because I did the same with my second tattoo, and the results did not turn out as I had liked. To make a long story short, I trusted Hung with his skills and experience (over 25 years) to fix and polish up my second tattoo; and lo and behold, I came out with a tattoo full of life. The tattoo I had before was very flat, and didnt look as good as Id hoped. Luckily for me, Hung was easily accessible, and his prices fair. Im definitely going to become a regular and get my tattoos from here on out, and Id definitely recommend you to go as well.

Absolutely the best tattoo work Ive ever had done. Hung is a true tattoo master with a light touch, immaculate line work and beautiful artistic vision. I came in to see what could be done with the mess of 3 tattoos on my shoulder/back/chest and showed Hung pictures of styles of tattooing I like and he came up with freehand artwork to enhance, repair and weave them beautifully together into one spectacular piece. Im extremely impressed at his chairside manner and the extreme attention to detail put in to his work. If you are looking to step up the quality of your tattoos, this is the place.

Hung is a great tattoo artist. His visual and free hand is the best in town. Hes able to explain what will look good and how it will turn out. If you can sit all day with him, he will finish it. AMAZING! If I could give Hung a 10 I would and for many reasons. First off I got a bad outline for a tattoo from a guy in a house. Yes I know. And not only was it terrible- its was huge. Next I went to a different shop and asked them to fix it but they ended up just filling in the terrible outline. I went to 3 other shops and all they could offer was lazer removal. No one would touch it. I researched the top cover artists and was willing to save up to afford them. I went through 5 profiles and decided on whos work I like the best. Thats how I found Hung. At the time he lived in San Diego. I made an hour trip to visit him. He took one look at it and with confidence told me he could cover it!!! Imagine my excitement! I put $500 down and made a future appointment allowing me to save up. (Mind you his pricing was mind blowing). Just before my appointment not one but two cars broke down so I had to cancel and didnt have a reschedule date. When I finally called back (many months later) Hung had moved to Minneapolis! Of course I figured it was my loss. Hung was so honest and helpful. Not only did he try reaching out to me but when I got a hold of him he offered my to fly out a take the price of the ticket off the tattoo and even offered me to stay with his family. There just arent people like this anymore. My schedule didnt allow a trip at the time so he said the next time he came to San Diego he would call me and give me first pick of appointments. He called in November and scheduled me the day after Christmas. His work is fast, affordable and true art with vision. I cant imagine how hard the cover up was and it turned out amazing! I cant wait to let his work on a blank canvas. Even if I have to fly out to see him. He is a great person, amazing artist and business man. Pretty cool to spend the day with too. He was amazing.. I always get great feed back on my tattoo. Hung is just amazing. I found him through a Facebook friend. Her body is 90% covered with ink and I love all of her tattoos so I asked who her artist was. She told me Hung did most of her ink.What I liked about Hungs shop is that its only him and his daughter, thats it. Both have private cubicles so youre not exposed to everyone walking in and there are not a bunch of tattoo guys lurking around as you walk into his shop. Its his shop which is so much better.I recently had surgery and a bad scar that I wanted to disappear. Not only that but I wanted to cover up an old tattoo as well. I wanted flowers and ocean waves. We found two beautiful flowers that he drew up and the ocean waves were free style marked on my body. I love the free style, thats what an artist is all about. Thats how you can tell a good artist from a great one. I was sold the minute he said that.The appointment scheduling was easy and he told me exactly what to expect. The first 3 hours was the outline and he had enough time to complete one flower. The flower covered the old tattoo which completely disappeared. The outline covered most of the scar and I was already so grateful.I came back 8 days later to complete the tattoo. It took another 4 and 1/2 hours and I couldnt be more pleased. I love the vibrant colors and its more than I have envisioned. I love the ocean waves, it all is vibrant and very pleasing to the eye.So now, Im hooked. Im coming back for more.Hung is a super nice guy. Easy to talk to and a great artist.. I couldnt have asked for more.His prices are reasonable for the amazing work he does.Thanks again Hung. I got my first tattoo ever done here, and Im a huge baby so I was really nervous! Hung was really patient and kind, and I am beyond impressed with his skill and artistic ability. I will definitely be a returning customer!!!

I came in with the idea of two humming bird tattoos, one on top of the other, i looked at the wall and saw this design and let me tell yuh, the aftermath was amazing, i almost cried. I will definitely get another tattoo done here. The art is beautiful and Hung stayed patient and calm the whole time and me and my mom both feel satisfied with our matching tats.

Hung does great tattoos but his employee put white in my skin as a shade after I asked him to consider my brown skin...it looks like scars. He said it would be fine, small tattoo , but what if it had been big? The artist needs to be trained in all areas ..artist was a man that was very nice. But seemed too nervous to supposedly have tons of experience. Very eccentricly dressed Man .

Hung is the real deal. I came to him with an idea for a custom Japanese traditional 3/4 sleeve, and am walking away with a full-sleeve. He free hand drew nearly the entire design on my arm before laying ink in, which was something I hadn’t experienced with a tattoo artist prior. The results blew me away. I went into Hungs last week looking to get a cover up of large and bold Chinese lettering Id been turned away a few times before and was expecting the same from Hung but he looked at it I told him I wanted a full calf sleeve with foo dogs. He told me he could do it and what he would need to do. Reluctantly I trusted him because he was the first person to not turn me away and im glad I did. He hand drew 90% of the tattoo on my leg and I was amazed it was 100 times better than I expected its an amazing tattoo and I cant even tell its a cover up and he didnt take my other leg as payment I would recommend Hung to everyone and will tell everyone I know about him.

Hung is the real deal! You tell him what you want, be totally specific, and hell get going. Then, when its happening, talk to him about what is happening, what you want to see. He free hands everything, so it is an entirely creative process. I got a really huge tattoo coverup on my feet with giant tsunami waves turning into wings. At first, he made the feathers to feathery, but when I told him I wanted them like water, he instantly shifted what was going on with the tattoo and made it sooo cool. He knows how to flow and work cover-ups like no-one else. Highly recommended and fun! We got to watch movies on his Roku TV, hulu, netflix, prime, cable. Its a good distraction for the pain ;)

Me and my bestie came in a rush, we ditched a friend back at the hotel who was napping. Didn’t want her apart of this at all. We intended on just getting a matching simple heart outline. We didn’t have a lot of money and could only afford the minimum price the shop offered. Trish worked with us and showed us everything that was in that price racket. And we ended up getting the one line heart from BTS Love Yourself Answer album. Something that meant so much more to each of us then just a heart outline. Trish made us feel so at ease and comfortable, the 3 of us were chatting and I had a lot of fun. This was my first tattoo and I felt like by the end Trish was a friend by how comfortable she made us feel. Everything was very professional and we got a beautiful tattoo at a great value. I definitely want to make the 5 hr drive to come here again for my next tattoo. Thank you Trish!

Just finished 3rd session with Hung on a 3/4 nature theme sleeve. The man does amazing work. I give him a rough idea of what I want and then he improves on the idea and makes it better than I thought possible. Great prices and great work.

Ive waited almost a year to get my sleeve done and NOBODY had a clear vision of what I wanted. I recently hit Hung up about a week ago. He told me to come to his shop to discuss what exactly I wanted. 2 days later, within 6 hours, he free handed and finished the outline of my sleeve, and shaded my dragons head. (He is the only one I have let free hand on me and the only one I trust so far) The next 3 sessions, he finished with AMAZING DETAIL!!! He also IS NOT HEAVY HANDED! Trish gave me and my brother matching calligraphy tattoos this weekend. It was his first. She was informative, efficient, and did really crisp work with complex characters. We love our new ink.

Here is why-Pros: talkative staff, very open schedule (should have been a red flag for me cause that means few customers)Cons: they are very unprofessional because they stopped tattoo work to answer their cell phones and didn’t even sanitize/wash their hands afterwards, store smells of cigarettes, tattoo work is okay only—I’ve seen better elsewhere for more affordable prices

I asked and Hung delivered - he hand drew a full arm length tattoo based on a vague description of what I asked for and it turned out even more beautiful than I had in my mind. Hung is a talented artist. Highly recommend.

From the start he had a high level of confidence in his work. He completely turned my disaster of a tattoo into a masterpiece. Bottom line, I went in for a fix up/cover up, he gave me honest feedback, and it came out better than I had initially planned. You can tell theres a real connection between him and his art. He is a mind reader. You come in about 80% sure of what you want. He responds got it after only a bit of description. You are a little nervous. But then he blows you away! Shoulder to elbow half sleeve, full color, gorgeous. Twelve hours. Highly, highly recommend.
