We took our daughter here for her 6yr old birthday. This was an awesome experience!!! Jori was so kind and supportive of our daughter. We also had both grandmas because she is the only girl on both sides. We also had her brothers to support her. Jori was such a kind person and we can’t say enough good things about this experience. Our family is a lot and Jori was so understanding with everything. We are so happy that this is place we chose and if we ever need any other piercing this is where we will go!

She is the most patient and compassionate human! I took my 7 year old to pierce her ears and Jori helped her pick out the perfect earrings, gave her a lollipop and bunny ear headband, and was so incredibly comforting and patient when my daughter was too scared to do the second ear. She waited well past closing time until my daughter calmed down enough to want to finish. She explained everything well. I cannot imagine a more positive experience. She is well worth the money and wait! ♥️

I’ve never met a more kind and compassionate human ever!! Jori is super patient and kind and super clean and makes sure that you have the best experience ever!! Took my foster kiddo in and we each got some things done and had a million questions to go with! Not only did Jori answer our million and one questions but made sure we knew as much as we possibly could about care and maintenance and even sent us with a flyer if we forget something! I’ve never had anyone give me the after care instructions she has but love every single one of them and can’t wait to go back for more!! Hands down best piercer in Oregon! Even if I didn’t live in Salem anymore I would fly or drive how ever far to Jori!

Miss Jori did an absolutely stellar job on my industrial. Will definitely be going back, and my experience was great!Itd been a long time since my last piercing, as a different piercer caused pain a lot of pain and two of my friends and i. So i was a little nervous to go back.Jori Zans priority is cleanliness, healing, and quality. She will be very honest and conservative when it comes to piercings, which is appreciated. She wants them to heal properly! Its actually the first time Ive had a piercer include taking vitamins, extra vitamin C, and eating well in the healing instructions, haha.Id wanted to scoot my piercing down a bit, but she gave really good reasons as to why it wouldnt be a good idea. Im so glad i listened, cause not only does it look great, but healing is also going excellently, and getting the industrial itself was a breeze!Jori is really good at what she does. Shes cool and eccentric, and personally, i prefer the first come first serve basis. She takes as much time as needed, and didnt make me feel rushed at all. I could see how this may be frustrating to some, but this kind of experience cant really be replicated with reserved time slots.I cannot reccomend her enough! Thank youuu!!!

Ive been going to Jori for over 20 years. I live in Idaho now and my last visit, I waited until I was going to be in town to see her. Shes amazing! Shes professional and is always willing to help. Ive been able to message her over the years for advice living 500 miles away.

Jori is kind and very good at the art of what she does, piercing. She was patient and kind with my kids and my daughter is happy with the results. But I will say the ticket system didnt work well for me. When you grab your ticket you dont have any idea exactly how long you will have to wait. Waiting in the car 1.5 hours for a kids piercing was too much. It was also hard to figure out pricing beforehand so after waiting 1.5 hours in our car we finally get inside to see that it would cost: $130 for ear piercing. My daugther already had her ears pierced but one had closed up and so it was really just once piercing on one side and then changing out the earring on the other side. Just to change the earring on the other side she charged me $50 which is the same it would be to actually pierce the ear. In the moment I was just tired from having waited so long and didnt push back on the price which is my fault. Im just sharing so that parents can make an informed decision and decide if waiting 1.5 hours and paying $130 is worth it. Again the owner is good at what she does and if you need something more complicated it probably makes sense to go to her but for a simple ear piercing it was just too much for me personally. So this review is not so much for the owner as it is info for other parents.

One of the kindest humans I have ever met! I went for a tongue piercing and I don’t think i’ve ever had a better experience getting pierced! She was again so so kind, made me feel insanely comfortable and made the actual piercing so quick and painless! The best place in Salem by FAR for piercings! 10/10 recommend!!

Absolutely hands down the best person to go to! She was so welcoming into her establishment! Very knowledgeable but also gave you options. She was fantastic with my daughter and me! We had an excellent time! Just can’t explain enough how wonderful she was! Truly the best experience I’ve ever had for piercings! 10/10As for the ticket system, I think personally it works very well. Yes, you can be waiting a while but I feel she is very upfront about that. She also has her pricing right there with the ticket instructions. You can also call her and again there is plenty of info. There are many instructions when you get there on what to expect. She is just one person. So yes it will take a while if you aren’t first. But I feel it’s on the person for not reading and doing research before showing up to her establishment. She’s one person and can only go so fast. And she does as quick as she can but also as best as she can.So again. 10/10! I won’t go anywhere else from Now on!

The scheduling, or lack there of, is a joke. Someone opened the door as I was trying to figure out their wacky system, I tried to ask questions but they just told me take a number and closed the door. There are SO many booking systems available, I have no idea why you would choose to run your business this way. I have been a repeat customer who ALWAYS recommends Jori. I will not be back, and can no longer recommend her to other people in good faith.

We had the best experience at jori Zans. Dorothy was so sweet to communicate with when I was trying to get my 5 year old in for a piercing, and jori went above and beyond to make my daughter feel safe. It was overall such a great and positive experience!

So blessed to have found this place so my daughter could have the happy experience of getting her ears pierced that I didnt have when I was young. Jori was incredible to engage with my ten-year-old and took her time to do it right. Highly recommended!

Jori is amazing! My family has been going to her for years. A couple weeks ago I stupidly put some cheap jewelry in my ears and they got swollen and angry looking. I went to Jori and she helped me pick some good quality jewelry (not very expensive either) and put them in. After my ears were feeling better I went back this past weekend to get both my daith pierced for migraines. She did an awesome job! They look amazing, the after care instructions she gave me were clear and top notch, and the migraine I had when I went in instantly felt better after the piercing. Im not saying daith piercings are for everyone or that it will cure your headaches for sure, but so far my results are good. I highly recommend her.

My 13.5 daughter got her nose pierced here. She had complications and we went to see Jori. When she investigated the problem and realized my daughter was wearing make up. jori got very upset and blamed my daughter for not following Joris rules. jori then left to the bathroom upset to because she was going to puke only continue to be passive aggressive. She was freaking out. Thats when I told her to stop talking to my daughter in that manner. I then left. My daughter stayed in and Jori put her hand on my daughter and told her to leave while ikindly pushing her out. Jori was obviously having a mental breakdown and blaming us for it. So sad. My daughter felt awful. Such a traumatic experience. Never again will we go there.

The best experience Ive had all year. Jori was amazing. My daughter had both of her ear lobes pierced and I was beyond impressed with how personable and friendly she was. My daughter was a little nervous but Jori put my daughter at ease and explained the process and made her relax in no time. Would definitely go here over anywhere else.

We brought our 3 month old little girl to get her ears pierced and it was a great experience! Jori was informative and obviously skilled in piercing. She was awesome!

Attempted to get pierced today (along with a friend) but never actually was seen. Not a fan of the taking a number system Jori has. She provides her phone number but does not answer.Her board said please wait 20-40 minutes per number ahead of you. The window said serving number 2. We had number 5 & 6. We waited for about 50 minutes and the number hadnt changed at all. Left for 40 minutes and came back. Suddenly she was past our numbers. Texted to ask what to do, no response. Called, no response. You cant even go inside.So Jori wants you to wait in her parking lot in the punishing heat with no way to know how things are going along or how long you have to wait.She did finally get back to me 36 hours later. Which has been awful. In her long rambling nearly incoherent messages she tried to explain why she uses this terrible system and tried to defend it to me. I explained to her that it does not work for me and attempted to terminate the conversation multiple times. She continued to message me with passive aggressive defensive comments. I will be blocking her soon. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else that values your time and is run by somebody with integrity and good customer service.Will be recommending to everyone I come across that wants a piercing to not go to her.

This is the best place to go for any piercings. My husband and I have both been coming to her for over 20 years. We just took our 10 year old daughter to her to get her ears pierced. Our daughter was very nervous, but Jori made her very comfortable and was so kind and caring. Jori explained everything and what she was going to do. She was quick and explained the whole process well. She recommended I do a double helix on one ear at a time, and Im thankful I listened because its hard to sleep on a new piercing. Ive been going to Jori since I was a teenager and now Im lucky enough to be able to take my own daughters to her. Shes such a kind and genuine person with so much experience. Every trip is personal and shes great with kids! Truly a Salem gem that we are all so lucky to have.

Jori is amazing! I have had my helix and tragus done by her and they are perfect. I have had my helix for a year and a half and my tragus for around 4 months and both are completely healed and happy! She is so kind, personable, and knowledgable. When my tragus got a little angry (totally my fault for constantly touching it) a month after initially getting it, I was able to get an immediate response with advice. With that advice, I was able to get the piercing calmed in about 48 hours and had no other troubles! I recommend her to everyone I meet and will only go to her for piercings!

Today I had the door slammed in front of my face and my 8 year old for no reason at all.Owner of shop decided to skip our number after we had patiently waited 40 min. When we knocked on her door thinking there had been a mistake, she told us that she had decided to service someone else who was already in her shop before us and that we would have to return to our car to wait another 40 min. Before I could say anything, she closed the door leaving my daughter and I standing in the rain in complete shock.As a business owner, I know that we make the decisions we want but this decision that the owner made was hurtful, besides unprofessional. Today, her single act will be one we will forever remember as a time when a complete stranger completely disregarded us on a day that we were very much looking forward to. Shame on her and the woman and her teen, who knew we were waiting in our car for our turn, and decided that they were more important.

Just purchased a beautiful 3mm diamond nose ring. Jori is open by appointment. If you want something specific (like I did), make sure you tell her/them when you schedule. She is still replenishing her jewelry she halted due to the COVID outbreak. I needed a weekend appointment. I had to wait a month but that is no big deal - well worth the wait for this lively diamond!

Amazing experience! I have been to only another I trust so dearly. His schedule just happened to collide with mine. So bottom line Jori walked me through the whole process and even took enough effort to change the ring out same day as my piercing for a more suitable petite septum piercing

She did my nose and I was so happy! Great experince. At first I was nervous but she explained everything she was going to do. She helped me pick out what jewelry I wanted then did the piercing. Every ear lobe piercing my child has received thus far has been professionally done by Jori Zans amazing staff & herself. The prices have always been reasonable & include jewelry. They are always knowledgeable, super kind and really good with kids. The selection of jewelry and after care products is awesome too and has a lot of variety to choose from. The wait time has never been more than a few moments and we spend the time looking at the jewelry. So this was my very first time getting something pierced (excluding my ears) & it was a fantastic experience! Jori was very personable & relaxed me before/during/after. The piercing did hurt, but not as much as I expected & I think it was Joris magic that made it so. Would highly recommend & I wont be going anywhere else if I want more piercings done!

Love Jori, she is an amazing piercer, everything medical grade, sanitary, clean, professional; very friendly atmosphere, cozy. I have had 2 piercings done here and have had great results, heeling good. My sister told me about Jori and I have come to her every since; probably wont change piercers anytime soon. Very professional. She was extremely informative and polite to our eight year old girl. We felt very confident and comfortable with the service we received. There was this coffee shop in the back that was convenient and very well priced. If I were as brave as an eighth year old girl, I would man up and let them stick it to me!

**Currently it is appointment only**I will never trust anyone else to put holes in my body.The jewelry can be a bit expensive but its because its not cheaply made or knock-off gold or silver. Each piece of jewelry is sanitized before insertion. All of her tools are single-use in sterile packaging. She uses hollow needles. I highly recommend looking up some information on why ear guns at cheap fashion jewelry stores are bad.What makes Jori the best, though, is her. Piercing can be stressful, but as soon as you meet her youre at ease. She reminds you to breathe and will pierce as youre breathing out which makes a world of difference. Normally we tense up when experiencing pain, but by breathing out your body relaxes and the pain is substantially less (for me, anyway). She doesnt rush you out as soon as the piercing is in. She gives you time to decompress and process. I have always felt like family.

I wish I could give 7/5 stars! The guy behind the counter and Jori were both incredibly approachable. They were kind yet professional. I never once felt they were looking down on me (like a lot of people in other shops make you feel). If you want you can purchase after-care products in the shop. I ended up buying them in-shop, but I didnt feel pressured to; it was simply very convenient. They have a wide selection of jewelry. And the shop looks spotless!The piercing itself was done quickly yet professionally. Jori was engaged with me the whole time, and we talked throughout her setup and cleanup.The most impressive thing about my experience was how they discussed my piercing before I got it. Jori was (very kindly) honest about the kind of piercings she thought my ear could take. I.e. she explained how my ears have great curves for an industrial, but the bend of the inside of my ear wouldnt allow for one. Even though thats what I wanted, she was very honest and had insightful responses for me questions. I ended up getting a (forward) helix, and it looks amazing!Ive been to plenty of places where they just want your money, its not like that at Joris =)

Jori is as awesome as her website makes her look. She gives off warm vibes, answered all of my questions, repeated care instructions for me, made temporary marks and then measured the distance from my cheeks, etc. Her studio was a bit more expensive than the one where I live, but I have zero regrets coming here. 11/10

My eight year old wanted her ears pierced. I asked around & Jori was highly recommended. After the first ear, my kiddo started to waiver. It hurt & bled, she was totally rethinking the idea. Jori was firm (but not scary firm) & after some talk, my kiddo committed to the second ear. The best part of the experience is that my daughter hasnt had any issues with either piercing, five weeks later. Jori rocks, you should go here.

Jori is the only piercer I will go to. She is a gentle practitioner and such a kind soul. She makes sure every piercing fits perfectly no matter where its placed.Im going back for my second daith piercing for my migraines. The first one healed up so much faster than she said it would.

Absolutely fantastic experience! I went for my very first piercing, which was a PA. Clearly, the fear about having a hole put in my you-know-what was astounding, but the experience here helped me out so much with the fear. Took my 8 year old in to get her ears pierced yesterday. Kaylyn was amazing! She was warm, inviting, and keen to my daughters state-of-mind. After the first ear my daughter got nauseous and light headed, kaylyn took a couple minutes to talk it out with my daughter calming her down, along with a wet wash cloth on her forehead. Fantastic piercing experience, my daughter couldnt be more happy, highly recommend!

Jori is hands down the best Salem has to offer, both in jewelry and expertise. It is hard to explain why choosing an advanced piercer is so important. Body modification is no joke (and you will see professional service here!) Saddeningly, I often see people willing to spend less on jewelry and piercings as they are on very simple and menial things (makeup, clothes, etc) ridiculous! You get what you pay for. I have so much respect for the work Jori does, the work and jewelry selection is top notch!

They did a great job piercing my right year olds ears, the piercer was kind and professional and made it a very nice experience for my daughter. The prices were much more affordable than other piercing shops in town and they had a good selection of jewelry. I am a Jori Zans convert now!

When I walked In I noticed that the shop was very very clean. The service was super good and I felt very comfortable saying what I wanted. Well I picked my triple cartlidge rings and the guy talked to me bout cleaning and everything. Zori took me to the back was very reassuring & was super super gentle and nice. She was very clean & washed her hands & put gloves on. While she was doing my ears she talked to me and made sure I was fine! I would definitely recommend this fabulous place & Id go back!

Ive tried getting my ears pierced twice before, both times with a piercing gun, and both times resulting in horrible scar tissue and infection. I have a scar on one ear and she really payed attention to where would be best to pierce around the scar tissue while keeping it as centered as possible. She was very kind and did a great job explaining everything to me, and the piercing part was practically painless, and only for a half a second. I went there for the great reviews and I am very impressed. I will definitely be going back.

I went in to get a replacement stud for my tragus. Jori remembered me from YEARS ago. She is beyond amazing! I love her, I don’t know why I ever go to other places! She may be a bit in the spendy side. But like tattoos you get what you pay for. I would rather spend a lot of money for something that I know is great than go to Claire’s. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

My husband and I went in to look at the piercings, I decided to get my nostril Pierced. I was nervous but the atmosphere there was absolutely cool. The girl who helped me was awesome! She made my experience wonderful and helped me get over my nervousness! They are awesome! 😊😊😊😊😊

I called Jori Zans to make an appointment to have my daughters ears pierced, she said they dont do appointments but we could just walk in. So we showed up, checked in, waited for an hour or two as new people were walking in and being taken back before us. I finally asked when she would be able to get to us, she said it definitely wouldnt be today because she had 17 people on the list that were showing back up. I guess if you put your name down on a list you can leave, come in later and be guaranteed to skip in front of people who had just walked in? How much longer were they going to let us sit there thinking we were going to be next? Also, it wouldve cost almost $90 for a basic earlobe piercing. We went to Claires and were out in 10 minutes with real 14k gold jewelery for HALF the price. They were quick, clean, professional and affordable... Unlike Jori Zans.

I brought my disabled, elderly mother in a few weeks ago to get her ears pierced. Jori couldnt have been more accommodating. She was very patient and kind and even brought my mother some ice water. Not only is Jori Zan expert at piercing but she is very kind and considerate to the elderly/disabled.

I love getting piercings here or shopping for jewlery. All of their jewlery is high quality and beautiful. Ive also never had a problem with any of the jewlery. Everyone I know who has gotten a piercing done here has been extremly happy with the finished job and the service. The first thing I got done here was actually getting help with a lip piercing that started to close up because I wasnt home and my jewlery fell out. She was very sweet, kind, funny, and understanding. I definitely knew I wanted to come back. Since then I have gotten four piercings from her (both times I got them in pairs.) She has given me my favorite piercings which are my venom piercings (two tounge piercing side by side) she did such a lovely job and Im extremely happy with the outcome. She was also the only place out of a couple places I called that definitely could do my double tounge piercing the same day I wanted it done (One place had a person getting a specialty piercing licence but that would take awhile.) She also gives a lot of good information on the paper you take home. Most places Ive been too offer a cleaning solution or just give you sea salt and send you on your way with a small paper telling you how to use the sea salt and how long to clean. Jori Zans suggests another, even better way to clean your piercing with chamomile tea and I really appreciate that. Jori Zans can be pricey but its worth it with the amazing job she does and the lovely jewlery they offer. I know the four Ive gotten recently will not be the last piercings I get from her and I cant wait to go back.

Jori was extremely knowledgable about what size would work best for me. Walked me thru the healing process. She was super friendly. Would recommend her to anyone.

We went in and were ignored for some time. Ok, no big as the guy was helping other customers. We chose the studs we wanted and were told it would be an hour and that we could step out and be back then.When we returned about an hour later there was no one at the counter. Eventually the same man comes back to the front and I inform him that we are back. He proceeds to help a lady that walked in after us. I asked him how much longer it would take as we had someplace to be within the hour. He then informs me that they already had to skip us twice. Umm, we were told to come back in an hour. I say, to which he responds that that was only an estimate. In my head I am just wanting to know how much longer but he then offered a refund and I accepted.$74 for ear piercing is too much but the customer service was severely lacking.The guy didnt seem to have any great customer service skills except being polite. Maybe it was just an off day? Who knows? Tomorrow Im just going to find a Claires... at least the girls there are always peppy and eager to do their job.

Very very clean and loved the variety of the jewelry, I got my nose pierced and was very happy from start to finish. A little more expensive than others but I won’t go anywhere else (can’t put a price on piece of mind) very professional and did I say Clean! Love this business!Dana W
