My tattoo artist was Alexis and she is amazing! I visited from San Antonio, TX and we messaged through Instagram and I sent her a design and she turned it into something magical. She is full of knowledge and I enjoyed talking to her. Ask her anything you want! We had a great experience at Salem Ink while on vacation. My husband, my mom (a first-timer of 66 years young), and I got small flash wrist tattoos by Genna Lee to commemorate our trip to Salem. She was super sweet and made sure that she drew up exactly what we wanted. I liked that the shop has private rooms.

I had the pleasure of working with Grace when I visited the shop. I must say I left very satisfied. She was super nice and friendly. Made a better design for my tattoo than I had in mind and I’m glad I trusted her . Definitely going back for my next tarot card.

I have several tattoos and they all have been done by different artists. I am visiting Salem on vacation and Genna (I am sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was by far the best tattoo artist i’ve ever had. She is so nice and very fun to work with. If you just trust her process and her skills you will end up with your favorite tattoo ever. This was one of the best experiences I have had at a shop. I can’t wait to come back in vacation and get more.

On a vacation in Salem. On a whim, I went in to Salem Ink to get a tattoo to remember my trip. Grace was my artist. She was great! Perfectly designed my tattoo (skull wearing a witch hat). Was the least painful tattoo I’ve received. If/when I come back to Salem I will for sure go to Salem ink and ask for Grace.

Came in as a walk in with my cousin and got matching moons by Alexis. She was amazing! She was very sweet and helped me figure out placement since I was in between a few spots. We deff would come back to see her again!

I had the best experience getting tattooed by the wonderful Alexis. She is amazing with her work and so easy to talk to! She really makes your experience magical! The staff all around is extremely welcoming. I would recommend this shop to everyone wanting to get tatted in Salem.

Got a cover up done by Grace and couldnt be happier with my experience! This was my second tattoo with Grace and she is truly the sweetest artist and came up with something better than I could have ever imagined. Felt so comfortable throughout the whole process and the shop itself is so nice. Will definitely be coming back for all future tattoos :)

My wife and I came up to Boston from Memphis on a mini-vacation and came to Salem for a day trip and of course, we decided to get spur-of-the-moment tattoos. And this was the place we came. It was a cool experience, the staff was welcoming, it was a cool/very laid back environment, everyone was friendly (and obviously knew we weren’t from around here lmao). Loki (the owner) was the one that did our tattoos and was a very nice guy and treated us like we were his friends (he was also very gentle with the tattoo gun haha). The guy at the front desk (I can’t remember his name, I’m terrible with names) was also very friendly and chatted with us about a lot of different things. Overall, the experience was top notch and the flash tattoos were done very well. If we ever come back up here, we will definitely be coming back. It was like The Cheesecake Factory of northeastern tattoo shops. Or the Keanu Reeves of northeastern tattoo shops. I’ll let you decide. 5/5, would let them pet my dogs.

We loved our experience at Salem Ink Tattoo. Myself and two friends wanted small matching ghost tattoos to remember our incredible trip. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff and an adorable security pup! Each of us loved our artists- Loki, Jillian & Mike! All artists in the shop were really personable and professional! Grace was a fantastic choice for my tattoo. Her line work is real clean and detailed. Her attention to my desires for my design were exemplary. The sterile regimen was top notch. Grace was just easy to trust and made me feel very welcome and comfortable (great call on Tash Sultana!). The other folks in the studio were also welcoming and would make any first time experience an easy one for someone looking to get their first ink. Will be going back without a doubt. Me and my husband got spontaneous matching tattoos on our road trip through Salem. Genna is awesome and all staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend especially for walk-ins if your on the fence no need to be you wont have any regrets!

Everyone is really kind and the place as a whole is just very inviting. My artist, Grace, made a REALLY awesome design based off a picture I found online. She was super nice and funny and supportive for those getting their first tattoos (me).

Made an appointment for my first tattoo and let me just say Alexis is just a great and talented person. She made me feel super comfortable, easy going, and reassured me. Next day she sent me an email to keep her posted on how I was doing, great place to go to!!

Great experience and great artists! I had touched base with Alexis on getting a tattoo during my trip to Salem through a Facebook group. We talked about the design and she recommended I talk to Loki the shop owner since he had more experience with the style of tattoo I was thinking of getting. Once I was in Salem I was able to have my consultation with Loki and an hour later got my first tattoo and a great way to remember the trip. Thank you Alexis and Loki!

Alexis did a beautiful cover up for me, her creative design for a tricky cover was perfect from the get go based off only vague input from me. The session was fast considering the size and she was insanely accommodating and made sure I was cool with everything and comfortable through the session. Also she’s very good, amazing line work and shading. And on top a great conversation was had! The shop is super clean, has beautiful art, and is the best shop around this area.

Everyone was super nice and the flash was cool! Loki was great and did my awesome flash. It was my first tattoo and he explained everything amazingly!

My friend and I went in for a walk in on Saturday and were able to be seen right away by Alexis (witchtats on insta) who was so lovely. The whole experience from start to finish was professional but also genuinely a great time. Whole vibe was fun and friendly while also feeling very safe to collaborate on the tattoo process. I got my first tattoo here yesterday, and it was a great experience! I had a simple design in mind, and I feel through their knowledge they improved upon it greatly without drastically changing the core of it.Mike did the tattoo itself, and I love all the little stipling details he added. It has a bit of a mystical feel for me that fits the design perfectly. If I get the opportunity to come back to Salem, I will be stopping by again.

Alliyah is a phenomenal artist. Not only was she able to execute a difficult cover up, but she did it beautifully, and the old art fits seamlessly within the theme of my new tattoo. She was also patient and kind and a joy to work with. I highly recommend her for your next tattoo in Salem!

My boyfriend and I were in Salem and I wanted a tattoo. I researched different local shops and found Salem Ink. I called prior to going in and the friendliest girl took my call. She was very informative and knowledgeable. We ended up going in a few hours later and I was so happy that the female I spoke with was available to do my walk-in tattoo! Genna was awesome!! She worked with me to design exactly what I wanted. From start to finish the entire experience was 10/10! I cannot say enough good things about this studio and staff. Had a Witch King of Angmar piece done by Mike (AKA Grimdrops) and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Mike was a great communicator from the consultation all the way through the appointment itself. It’s hard to believe he’s only a 2nd year apprentice as his professionalism and skill set would suggest he’s been at this much longer. The shop was clean and all the staff were all super friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

Cant say enough great things about Salem Ink, and our Artists; Alexis & Grace! This was not my first tattoo, but it was my first with my two daughters... sort of a spontaneous adventure while in town on vacation. We walked in, no appointment, just 90 minutes before closing, with a rough sketch we had worked on together...and they accommodated all three of us. The shop was Super Clean, which is a huge thing with me. Grace and Alexis were friendly, talented, and very into bringing our little adventure to life. Check them out if youre in town, and looking for some new body art!

Got my first tattoo in here today. Jason was amazing, wasnt heavy handed, and went above and beyond to make me comfortable by even switching out chairs in the room.I cant imagine a first tattoo experience being better. If youre thinking about getting a first one, or just getting one in Salem, I cant imagine you could go wrong here

Had to get a tattoo for my first time visiting Salem. Walked in and Alexis was able to tattoo me on the spot. I ended up getting two and they’re perfect. Definitely recommend this place and Alexis as your artist when in Salem and looking for some ink! She’s great!

My friend and I went here to get tattoos during her spring break, and it was a great experience! Genna was amazing (kind and funny) and the vibe of the shop and other artists was so welcoming! We both drew our own tattoo ideas and Genna was able to make them into stencils so easily as we decided on finishing touches for the size and colors. Setting an appointment was one of the best decisions I made here at Salem Ink. The tattoo artists were really chill (Shout out to Jillian and Kenneth) for the awesome convos during my tattoo session. While in Salem for a trip with my sister to visit The Salem Witch museum and The Witchery, I decided it was time for a new tattoo to symbolize my spiritual journey and have a forever visual representation of our amazing trip. Mike did a beautiful job with my Japanese inspired raven tattoo! I couldn’t have been more pleased with his artistic work. I love it!

I was in town and on a whim decided to get a quick black cat tat while in Salem. I came upon Salem Ink and stopped inside not sure what to expect as I mentioned it was on a whim and last minute before we left town. I AM SO GLAD I STOPPED IN! I met with Alexis and showed her my idea and just a few minutes later I was getting inked. The only bad part was I chose a simple design which didn’t take long to do and it went so quick! (I love getting tattoos) I could have chatted with Alexis all day. She was so chill and laid back and we had great conversation. Not to mention the tattoo was perfect and exactly what I wanted. I have sever tattoos and I have to say she has the most gentle hand I’ve ever experienced. If I was from the area I would 100% return.

Visited Salem on holiday and decided to get a fun tattoo on a whim. Found Salem Ink, saw the good reviews, and walked in. We were greeted by Loki who was a gem — ended up getting 3 cute ghosts (from flash) with my friends. It was really quick, clean, and efficient. Loki was so friendly and also gave us some tourist recommendations. The studio is gorgeous and so fun to look around (they display and sell art too!). Highly recommend if you want to get a tattoo in Salem :)

I had a wonderful experience here for my first real tattoo. They saw me as a walk in after my previous tattoo place fed me over and I came in to Salam Ink hoping they could see me. They were so incredibly kind and flexible. Jillian was the sweetest and she made me feel so comfortable during the process. Her line work is incredible and she was just such a nice person. I am def coming here again for another one!

I went in for a consultation before booking an appointment since it was my first time ever getting a tattoo. I met with Genna, and she was so chill, relaxed, and kind. I felt extremely comfortable with her and she answered all of my questions and walked me through the entire process. I came in again a few days later to get my first tattoo and I was a bit nervous about the pain, but super excited for my first tattoo. Genna was absolutely incredible with making me feel comfortable and talking to me the entire time while I was getting the tattoo. I hurt way less than I expected it to, and it was super fast too (maybe about 30 minutes? And I was able to have a full conversation with her the entire time.) I have never felt like such a badass in my entire life. Thank you for memorializing my sweet doggy Pepper on my body. I will definitely come back to see Genna for more tattoos in the future, because now I am 1000% hooked.

Wonderful experience! The shop is clean, spacious, stylish and well-lit. Ricky was great to work with both before and during my tat - friendly, knowledgable, answered all my questions. He did a superb job on my Calvin and Hobbes tattoo and Im over the moon with how it came out. Staff was very helpful and courteous as well. I would go here again in a heartbeat. ^_^

We were on vacation and wanted a spur of the moment tattoo, but it was Salem, what better place! It was our first tat and it could not have been easier. I had Erin as my artist and she explained everything she was doing and also explained the After Care, which is relatively simple. FYI - you can wait at the Oyster Bar around the corner and they will call you when they are ready for you.

Had an excellent experience from begin to end. I happen to come across a sheet ghost tattoo done by Ricky Mo on Instagram. I sent it to my fiancé immediately because in the coming weeks we were going to be in Salem, and I thought it would be a great way to commemorate our trip. Communication with Ricky thru email was great, he was informative, and booking with him was super easy. On the day of our appointment we were greeted by Ricky, he was friendly and welcoming. The cleanliness of the studio, Rickys room, and equipment were all on point. He made both our sessions extremely comfortable, checking in on us, playing good music, and having a few laughs. We couldnt have been happier with the whole experience. Ricky is a great artist, and I would recommend him to anyone visiting Salem. We have gotten so many compliments on our tattoos and we had a few people in Salem and Boston asking were we got our work done, we spread the world in hopes that it will bring more people his way. I had a great experience having my first tattoo done by Loki! He easily combined all aspects of my vision and it came out beautifully. I appreciated that he explained everything to expect from the process to help with any nerves. He was also great at making small talk for distraction, allowed me to play some music, and even hiked up the AC to increase my comfort… it’s the little things that make an experience great. I think the price was incredibly fair. I have a list of tattoo ideas to work through and would go back in a heartbeat!

I walked in last week and met Mike who was quick to help. This was hands down the best experience Ive had as a walk in client in a tattoo shop. Mike is talented, friendly, and efficient. The shop has a great vibe and the experience was automatically really comfortable which is rare for me as someone with pretty intense social anxiety. He gave me advice to consider when I wanted to adjust the placement of my tattoo and made sure I was comfortable before we started. After bad experiences with a tattoo studio in the past, it was important to me to find a place thats comfortable and where I have some trust in the artists. I wasn’t coming in for anything fancy this time. More than anything I wanted a small piece of text, and if it felt like the right fit, Id come back to have the piece that was never finished completed.While my situation is unique as the artist had a personal relationship with the line I had chosen, there are some things that are universal. The people I met at the studio all seem like wonderful people. Genna (who did my ink) was absolutely fantastic. I was met with incredible personality, friendly people, and a great environment. While this may seem like expected, Ive learned its not, so it was good to have someone willing to explain safety measures taken to prevent contamination and generally keep everyone safe. The whole process was fantastic, and I look forward to getting more done, including the unfinished piece that was the root of my previous negative experience. I feel like this has restored my faith in tattoo studios to create wonderful art in a comfortable environment.More importantly, even though my request was incredibly vague, and I was looking for something that would have a few deliberate imperfections, I got a perfectly imperfect piece that was exactly what I was hoping for, and Im so much happier with it than I expected to be. I had to be handed a paper towel to wipe away the happy tears, because this piece has so much meaning to me, and the end result truly captured what I was going for.If youre looking for beautiful art on your body, or even just something simple with a bit of flavor and personality, this is a great place to look.The Halloween season is crazy in Salem, so if youre local, its totally worth it to schedule outside of October if you can, which is exactly what Ill be doing for the next piece of art to be added to my body. After the great experience I had, no doubt Ill be back soon.

I came in twice- the first time they only had time for one walk in so my boyfriend got his first tattoo and I came back the next day! I saw Jillian and she was awesome! The dog Ive grown up with is turning 14 and I wanted a tattoo for her. Jillian worked with me to make something interesting and unique. I love the way it came out and we only took 30-40 mins! Would 100% recommend coming here.

150% recommend everyone to come here for their tattoos! They work off walk ins which is smart for this area with all the tourists. Had an amazing experience from start to finish. Mike did my tattoo. Very friendly, respectful and made me feel very comfortable. He even gave me some recommendations of their favorite places around town. Ill definitely only come here in the future when Im in town.

They are great there. I had Loki do mine and another one (I am sorry cant remember his name) did my mothers. I am extremely happy they were able to accommodate us especially since their busy season is near with Halloween. I am extremely happy with my tattoo.

It was my husband and I 1st trip to Salem and I wanted to commerate it with a witchy tattoo. All the other shops were to busy, didnt have time. Was lets just say they werent very friendly. Until we walked into Salem Ink. It was getting a bit late, we were heading back to our camp site. And my hubby said lets just check and see. And Genna greeted us. Was super excited to do what I wanted and she stayed over closing hours. Also the price was very reasonable and exactly what I wanted. I have several and Id have to say by far this was one of the best and favorite artists of mine..I definitely will be back when we visit again someday. So do yourself a favor and go check it out!!

Aliyah is great with her designs! Shes done such a great job with my tattoos that I will only go to her instead of going elsewhere. She will ask a lot of questions to make sure you get exactly what you want. The other tattoo artists there are also friendly, and by what Ive seen, their work is great also.

Me and two of my best friends were here for a long weekend but did our research prior to coming and knew this was where we wanted to go. They had a wait list posted out front, but to our surprise we were called within a couple hours of putting our names down! If youre looking for a talented artist, ask for theundeadsage. Thats his Instagram, we never did find out his real name. Fair warning, he will roast you. That line work is clean though. The photo attached shows my beloved witches hat in remembrance of a Samhain trip to Salem, MA with my long time bestie and was taken 24 hours into the healing process.. Also in the photo, the supposed-to-have-been-a-phoenix-aka-thunder-chicken above it is a 10 year old example of mistakes were made by myself and the artist, not to be attributed to this artist or shop. Just look away, that happened in Florida in 2012 by a guy who said he did the back piece on Celo Green, probably false.Perfect examples of two vastly different tattoo experiences side by side and I couldnt be happier with my new addition.

Our artist was a young woman from Connecticut. She designed exactly what we wanted with her own unique twist which made it so much better. We did a walk in for two people and we were out in barely an hour with great results. The whole time I was getting mine done, my family was able to spend the time talking to the owner and exploring the great art pieces posted everywhere. The environment is so welcoming and fun. I’ll be coming back next time I’m in Massachusetts

Place was clean and staff was very friendly, my wife got her tattoo here as well. Hers came out perfect which was done by one of the female artists there. Mine however had some issues that I only noticed after taking a picture. The lines were crooked, not straight basically, the image I showed to the artist and what he made were two different things. It honestly looked like no effort was made. Shading came out horrible. In part I should have waited for the female artist to tattoo me cause of her work that I saw done. After kindly asking what could be done, the artist was very dismissive and asked that I come to a later time. He emphasized the area would get irritated but at the end of the day it’s a permanent tattoo and being a dissatisfied customer I expected a little more accommodation.

I had Jillian for my first ever piece, and she was absolutely incredible. She’s super friendly, accommodating, and was incredibly understanding about my first-time nerves. She also puts up a projection of music videos on the wall of your choice so you have something to listen to and watch during it.The store itself is really cool, and the people are extremely friendly. We were talking to Erin for a really long time, who was playing guitar while we were there and just made the whole experience much more welcoming and relaxing.Highly recommend the shop and Jillian as well!

I was a walk-in with two friends, and we were all able to be helped. I think we were out of there within an hour. Everyone in the studio was so kind and accommodating. Mike was easy to work with and gave me the perfect tattoo! Would definitely visit again.

Where do I begin? I had such a fabulous experience here and will happily travel another 12 hours to come back. My SIL and I wanted tattoos to commemorate our trip and this shop took AMAZING care of us. I gave my artist GENNALEE a general idea of what I wanted and gave her creative freedom and I swear she read my mind with the design and color-combo. I haven’t stopped looking at it since I got it!! What an awesome place. I felt welcome as soon as I walked in the door. The prices are very reasonable and the talent is amazing. I wanted to take a piece of Salem home with me from my epic trip, and saw they accepted walk-ins. I went in on the Friday before Halloween to add my name to the list, and was called back about 10 minutes after. I met with Jillian, who was super friendly, knowledgeable, and nice. She drew up what I wanted, helped me with placement, and my session was done pretty quickly. Not only is she amazingly talented artistically, she was really cool to chat with. I was so excited about the end result, and so grateful she was able to fit me in on one of the busiest weekends in Salem. Thanks Jillian for my little piece of Salem. I love it!

We drove through Salem on our way back to Indiana from a road trip and decided to stop in and get something special done. Mike was my artist and he was fantastic! I brought something with my sons handwriting on it and he nailed it. I would absolutely drive the 17 hours back to get tattooed here again!

Very accommodating and friendly artists. Love the custom armband I got done by Loki! The place also has some really cool artwork from local artists on display and for sale. I snagged a couple of pieces made by Danny Wicked after Loki finished my armband. I will likely return for a second armband in the near future.

Got a tattoo here for my first visit to Salem. Dropped in the day before and got amazing results, especially with so little time for the artist to plan. Worked with me to come up with something I really loved as well.

Went down around 1 on Saturday for a walk in with a few ideas in mind and after a couple hours for them to draw something up I got called back to come in and get tatted. Got set up with Mike who is a super rad guy and talented artist that does other projects around the area. Mike did a great job and was easy to talk to, and after 2 hours my ink was done and I couldn’t be happier

This was a spontaneous choice And one of the best ones I ever made. I have 2 other small older tattoos but really wanted a new one and Im so glad I stopped and met Loki and his team and got an excellent tattoo and a great value.Our next trip up to Salem will be focused on making another appointment with Salem Ink!!

I went to Salem Ink earlier to get a tattoo and Im very happy with it. I went to Heather and she is so nice and sweet. She is very down to earth and has good energy! She made sure I knew all about my aftercare before I left because it was (technically) my first tattoo. I got some wording done and its so neat. The lines are perfect and she chose to do the perfect font for me based off of references I gave her. When I originally emailed her, she responded quickly. Making my consultation and appointment was easy.The shop itself is extremely clean. They have some really awesome art hanging up too. Right now they have a bunch of Krampus paintings and theyre so cool. I enjoyed looking at them while waiting.I already have some more tattoo ideas stirring around in my head and I will definitely be going back as well as recommending them to others. xx

I cannot recommend Loki at Salem Ink enough! The shop is clean, comfortable, and the gallery is full of a lot of incredible work by the Salem Ink artists. I had sent my design to Loki the week before, and he was very patient and thorough in talking through it with me as its my first tattoo. He made honest recommendations for the design that Id drawn, talking through line work and sizing down to every little detail. When I got to the shop we put the final touches on, and about an hour/hour-15 later, I had EXACTLY what I wanted, EXACTLY where I wanted it. It was a super chill session, I felt very comfortable the entire time, and he talked me through everything he was doing. Couldnt be happier with the experience and the work Loki did. Will definitely be going back!

Best tattoo experience to date!Me and friens visited here in Ocyober which is most likely their busiest time all year. I had Erin and she was amazing! Super personable and easy to talk to. I was in Salem for a long weekend with some work peeps. Gennalee did exactly what I asked for by tattooing my forearm with a cat silhouette sitting on a crescent moon and two bats. It is perfect! Everyone there was super friendly and very welcoming!!

My friends and I came in the other day to get Halloween themed flash tattoos. We have been talking about this idea for a year, but a lot of shops wouldnt do a tattoo party and just recommended that we just show up as walk-ins. We understood October is a crazy time, but we are October babies... there was a reason to the madness.If anybody wants to get tattooed as a walk-in, I highly recommend you budget your time so youre there when they place that list on the door. Im guessing the list was 50 names deep and I dont know if they were able to do them all...just as an FYI. We took slots 5-7 on the list. And they called us an hour and a half after they were open.They were easy enough to work with as we all knew what designs we wanted, and understood what flash tattoos mean.... My friends and I all had good experiences with 3 different artists. Im horrible with names (I apologize) but I would have loved to give my artist a shout out. The cute male artist with the fake scratches on his face for halloween; didnt seem to be listed on the website. But he did a good job, and was quick. Cracked a few jokes to lighten the mood, as my tattoo was on my butt. It was an easy experience for me and fairly plain less.

Amazing place, amazing work, amazing people. the girl there took care of the paperwork and got the design ready (in my case a tree without leaves) for the artist. she was SUPER nice and just so outgoing definitely made the trip worth it. now as for the artist, he was legendary. the work looked so clean i love it a lot. it was kinda painful but just having conversations with him made me forget the pain. overall, this is the best place to get a tattoo because these people know what’s good.

Back in October 2021, I came to get my first tattoo by Kat. She was wonderful and very helpful with aftercare. Because of how wonderful she was in October. I immediately booked another appointment with her to get two more tattoos this month. They came out great with the theme we had chosen for previous tattoo. The shop was clean and also had a positive attitude towards new customers that came in. I highly recommend this shop and its artist; If you want a tattoo.

My girlfriend and I were walking around Salem yesterday and saw Salem Ink and decided to get tattoos. It was very clean and COVID safe. We got our tattoos from Loki, the owner. He was very nice and easy to talk to, the room was very well sanitized, the tattoo process was actually really comfortable and fast, and I love my tattoo! I would definitely recommend this place and this artist and will probably go back for tattoos in the future!

Most amazing experience with Heather. Ive gotten three previous tattoos and nothing compares to her work. It is exactly what I wanted. The whole experience was very positive. Im so used to gruff men pushing me around at different shops, but everyone at Salem Ink was kind and courteous and the whole shop was very clean. It was a whole new experience which I really appreciated because it put me at ease. I will be getting all my tattoos from now on from Salem Ink. Highly Recommend.

I never write reviews but for these guys I will.This was my second time going to see Ricky at Salem ink. I had emailed him a few weeks before about doing a memorial tattoo for my mom. I sent him a few pictures and he got back to me in a few days about what he was thinking. Ricky blew me away with what was sketched and the final product turned out amazing. The shop was very clean and with covid going on, i never once felt uncomfortable being in the shop. Everyone I have interacted with there is friendly and very helpful. Definitely will be back there again, even if my wife disapproves.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Kat & Salem Ink. I got two tattoos while I was in town and I am in LOVE with them. They were beyond reasonably priced for what I asked for and I was actually surprised by what Kat charged me for each because based on the quality and size I was expecting a lot more. Im already planning my next trip to Salem & a trip wont be complete without another piece from Kat to add to my collection. Basically the moral of the story is that Kat understands the assignment every time and you shouldnt go to anyone else (well you can go to someone else at Salem Ink if shes booked) or youll regret it.

I got a tattoo there last week and it was a great experience. I reached out to Ricky a month in advance and he was quick to respond to set up a time and talk about the tattoo design. On the day of the tattoo, the studio is super cool and I felt very comfortable and had a good time talking with Ricky during the process. I would definitely go back!

My husband and I put our names on a walk in list in the middle of October, aka they DID NOT have to accommodate us in the height of tourist season. We got a call as we were sitting down to dinner, and they said to just give them a call when we were done and to enjoy our time in Salem (which is so nice). We called them back when we were done and they could still take us. We were the last 2 of the evening. Think we had Loki and Raymond and they were just awesome. They had suggestions on what we wanted; a jackolantern was drawn up for me and I had a great conversation while being tattooed. They did NOT have to accommodate us and they did, and while doing so they were so nice, so professional. Awesome experience that we’ve been talking about since. Major props to Salem Ink!

One of the biggest concerns about getting my first tattoo was it being a good experience as a whole - not just the outcome. Id put it off for years, but once I found this shop online, and Rickys profile, I had to reach out. What followed was a smooth interaction from start to finish.Ricky took my messy, half baked, custom tattoo idea and really helped me narrow it down to a concrete plan. I was booked for about a month later. The day before my apt, my daughter came down with a fever. Due to Covid concerns we thought it best to postpone. I wasnt charged or given any grief for having to do it last minute. I ended up in the shop a month later where Ricky knocked out tattoo way quicker than expected, even while carrying out a conversation with me. During COVID, I’ve had a lot of trouble booking 2 small tattoos because it isn’t worth the artist’s time. I was in Salem for a few days and so thrilled to be able to walk-in and schedule a next day appt. Since these were my first, I just really appreciated the way Loki walked me through each stage. Honestly, from the booking to the end result, everything was handled with care and grace. I would even travel again from NY to visit Salem and get future tats. Respect and kindness go so so far!

I went to get a tattoo by Kat and I am so glad I did!! Not only is she extremely talented but she truly cares about her clients. My tattoo was pretty painful because it had some scar tissue in the area and she kept the energy light and fun so I barely noticed the pain! She listens to every detail you want for your artwork and takes her time making sure she does everything you’re looking for. Her tattoo lines and art is so detailed and crisp. I cannot recommend her enough!! Tattoo artists who take the time to listen to what you want and work on the best outcome for you are hard to find, that’s why you need to see Kat!

I saw Kylie yesterday for my first ever tattoo - I wanted a small, fine script on my forearm and had been told by another tattoo artist at a different shop that what I wanted was too small and would blur together. Kylie was confident that she had the right technique to get the look I wanted and she met and exceeded my expectations! Kylie is a perfectionist,and you definitely want that when getting something permanently tattooed on your body. Even for a small piece like this, she worked and reworked the writing ahead of time until I was happy with it and paid attention to every detail before and during the tattoo itself. She was friendly, professional, answered all my newbie questions and didnt mind that I had brought three friends with me. Most importantly, my tattoo looks amazing! Im so glad I found Kylie and Salem Ink and I will definitely be back for more work from her soon. Reflecting on an amazing experience at Salem ink! As someone who came from out of town, Ricky Molander was so great in working with my design, and communicating with me about my expectations, to make sure that it was everything that I could have ever wanted. He even made slight adjustments when I came into the shop to get tattooed, to make sure that I was comfortable and that everything was perfect. The piece is beautiful and even in the gross peeling and healing phase, I am getting a ton of compliments on it. I would recommend Ricky to anyone looking to get a tattoo. He does take his time tattooing to make sure that everything is perfect, but believe me his work is worth the extra moments of pain, especially for something that is going to be on your body forever. I went to Salem Ink for my first tattoo a couple of months ago. My fiancee had passed away the week before and I wanted a shoulder tattoo done to memorialize her name and our anniversary. I had the pleasure of working with Loki, the shop owner, that evening. He was respectful of my inexperience with the process of planning the artwork - gracefully ensuring that I felt comfortable with what I wanted without the condescension I expected. The tattoo came out exactly the way I wanted, and Loki made good on his promise of a free touch-up which I just received today.On a whim, I got a second tattoo today along with the touch-up. It was a simple sort of piece relating to a hobby of mine, but again Loki was a fabulous host and the piece came out precisely as I wanted.Loki has me now feeling so comfortable with his process that Im already addicted, and today established a plan for a much more significant sleeve-style piece that I look forward to seeing through to completion soon.After examining Eds portfolio, Im also starting to ponder other sleeve possibilities that match his art style; which, according to him, significantly contrasts Lokis stippling technique. This was before I met with Loki about my currently planned sleeve. Im grateful for Eds willingness to concede my business to Loki in favor of Lokis strengths with the style I wanted for this first sleeve - that speaks volumes to me about his desire to see Salem Ink customers happy with the work they receive.

I chose this place because they advertise in custom tattoos and for my second tattoo, I had a general idea of what I wanted, but I couldnt get a good picture to show the artist. However, when I met with Heather for the consultation, she knew exactly what I meant when describing the tattoo. She was very nice to work with and took the time to ask many questions about the design to make sure that it will look how I wanted it to. I got a galaxy tattoo, and I expected a simple black and blue design since that was all I could find online, but Heather was able to create a beautiful colorful piece that had many colors that came together nicely. She even seemed to read my mind when she suggested adding a moon to the design. The line work was amazing and the tattoo was better than expected. The studio was nice, clean, and very organized. The only downside to this place is the parking as the area around it has a two hour limit, so be careful when planning sessions. However, I was there for about three hours and my car wasnt towed. Overall, the place is amazing and I will definitely be going there again for future tattoos. Also, the pricing is relatively cheap compared to other studios in the area, so that is always a plus.

I checked out several artists and studios before selecting Salem Ink, and I am very happy with my choice. I worked with Matt whose work is detailed and precise. Check out his portraits of Lovecraft, Poe, and the “goat” (you’ll know it when you see it). I appreciate the tasteful and clean setting as well as the shop’s easy access to all-day parking and restaurants. My tattoo is very detailed (and it’s just an outline right now; going back for color later) and looks great. Aftercare instructions are easy to follow and cover all the important things you need to know without trying to sell you expensive, special products like other shops do.

I had been thinking about getting a tattoo for a couple months and decided to walk in and see the shop and get a feel for the atmosphere. I had been to one other shop and was not too impressed. As soon as I walked in Ashlie was the artist who greeted me and I immediately felt at ease. The place is immaculate and everyone I encountered was friendly. The day of my actual tattoo went great. Ashlie was so nice and answered all of my questions. There was no pain and I am extremely happy with the work she did. I would highly recommend Salem Ink and specifically Ashlie!!

I finally decided to get my first tattoo 11/4/20 and had the absolute pleasure of having Heather Cierri bless me with the cutest, most original, and authentic doe I could’ve possibly imagined. The detail in her face and fuzzy ears, my moon, and soft orange blossoms...I’m in love with my tattoo. Heather and everyone at Salem ink was Very professional and kind, clean place. I felt comfortable and relaxed and so happy how everything turned out! From beginning to end, it was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for more 🧘🏽‍♂️❤️

Popped in looking for a Tattoo artist who would be able to recreate a very delicate tattoo for me. I had seen Cassandras work online and had loved it, when i walked in without an appointment I was so happy that she was there and available.The entire Salem Ink facility is lovely. It is clean, modern and everyone is friendly. You are never made to feel uncomfortable and everyone I have dealt with is more than accomodating.Cassandra is an amazing artist. I have now seen her twice, once for a new tattoo and another for her to touch up an old and fading tattoo. Both times she was incredibly professional , kind and gentle. Cassandra has a great sense of humour and is never in a rush. I will be seeing her again soon I hope for some original work.

Had a great experience over the last month with Salem Inc. Went for 2 4+ hour sessions for a shoulder tattoo and found the establishment clean and aesthetic and its employees to be extremely professional and committed to their work. The artist who did my piece (Matt) was completely devoted to the tattoo during our sessions, taking less than 3 5 minute breaks during each of our two sessions. He proved to be very knowledgeable about tattoos and their healing process. I plan to return for more work to this shop and would recommend it to my friends and others who are interested in getting tattoos in the future.

Kat is awesome!! She did a thigh piece from her Halloween flash and she was so kind and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. I’m definitely going back to her. The piece itself is ADORABLE I’m obsessed w/ it. Highly recommended this shop & Kat for your tatt needs 😎

Called ahead of time asking for a walk in appointment, they were more than welcome to it. First impressions of the shop were good, really liked the artwork posted on the walls. Rick’s attention to detail with my tattoo idea impressed me. The worst part about my visit was the wait while Rick was disinfecting everything but if his commitment to ensuring a safe and clean work station makes me wait an extra 10 minutes, then by all means. I love the outcome and will definitely go there again for all my tattoo needs! I would rate it 10/10 but I can’t go past 5. Definitely the best shop in the area.

For my first tattoo I wanted a half sleeve, I did a lot of research on who would be good and what shops I liked and who did the kind of art I wanted. I found Salem Ink and made the hour and a half trek there for a consult. Since I was so far away Loki was very accommodating with email consults so I did not need to keep driving back and forth. He was very helpful when I changed my mind about part of the piece and kept designing with enthusiasm! He was very excited about doing such a large watercolor piece and he made me even more excited to get it done. The work is stunning and very affordable and I cannot wait to get it finished! I am so please with the staff and the artists and the shop itself my boyfriend is also going to start getting pieces done with Loki. I will return again and again!

Ive followed Heathers work for years now, and I have nothing but respect for her work ethic, artistic eye, and concept design. I went to her with a few ideas for a cover-up design combining concepts of stained glass, graffiti & water color and she came up with an amazing design that I absolutely love. Salem Ink is, by far, one of the cleanest tattoo parlors Ive ever been in. They require a deposit --and are over an hour drive away from me-- and I wouldnt think twice about making the trip again. I highly recommend checking them out and seeing for yourself.

Salem Ink was a wonderful place to get my first tattoo, back in September. The studio is clean, brightly lit, and has painted artwork on the walls. It feels like youre going into an art gallery (which you are). All the artists were prepped with PPE for Covid19 protection as well. I booked an appointment with Heather, and she worked with my idea and really brought it to life. I smile every time I notice my arm. The individual tattoo rooms are out of the way and private, so theres no worry of strangers watching/poking their head in. The aftercare sheet is very thorough with time-frames and products to help your tattoo heal properly. Theres also some humor stuck in for good measure. Overall, it was an extremely positive experience and took away a bit of the anxiety of getting a body mod that I hadnt had before. I 100% recommend Salem Ink.

Absolutely LOVE Heather! Gave her ideas for what I wanted and she went above and beyond with her talent, I love my tattoo. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. The studio itself is very clean, they have great artwork on display, and everyone there is friendly and personable.

I came here for my first big tattoo (covers the side of my thigh) from Heather who did an amazing job bringing my dream tattoo to reality! She has such a steady hand, amazing line/dot work, and is very friendly which helps alleviate some of the pressure! I highly recommend Salem Ink and Art Gallery!

I think I found my new tattoo parlor! Extremely welcoming staff, sanitary and comfortable atmosphere. Worked with artist Heather to help create a sunflower design to honor my late father. I was blown away by what she had come up with. Utterly talented and exceeded my expectations. I am beyond thrilled with my piece and cant wait to add the final touches in a few weeks. I had a good experience with Salem Ink last year, but it was just a walk-in so there wasnt much of an impression to be made. However, today was my first tattoo with an appointment. About a week ago I sought out Ashlie for my upcoming tattoos, and we set up an appointment. Man, I was not disappointed! Ashlie was wonderful! She rolled with the punches when I changed my tattoos around and was very accommodating. She was communicative and encouraging during my tiny tattoos. Even though they were small, she was very meticulous with them and very patient with me. I would not only recommend this shop (sanitary, beautiful, and calming) but Ashlie as an artist. There are no boxes she didnt check on my list.

Salem ink is my favorite tattoo parlor by far. My girlfriend, her friend, and I all came in as walk ins on a busy day and all of the tattooists were very accommodating. All of their artwork is amazing and top of the line. Everyone was very friendly and talkitive which was nice. The minimum was $100 but everyone was very flexible with our budgets. I recommend this establishment for anyone looking to get a tattoo. They have a bunch of different artists with different styles so someone there would be able to tattoo whatever you are looking for.

Decided to get a tattoo spur of the moment and called around to a few shops to find Salem ink was the only one taking walk ins. The owner, Loki, drew something up for me real quick and he started right away. Light, easy conversation and was done before I knew it. Room was clean, everything was sanitized and most importantly I love my tattoo! Will definitely be going back for more spur of the moment tattoos haha. Thank you!

This is one of the best studios you can go to in the greater Boston area. The shop is extremely clean and filled with amazing art work done by some of the artists. One artist in particular Heather, has done four of my tattoos and they couldnt have come out any better. She specializes in nature tattoos and has incredible line work. Her instagram is hcierritattos. Owner of the store, Loki is extremely funny and overall a funny dude. Each artist is very priced for the quality of work they do. If youre looking for a good experience and some great work done please give these guys a visit.

Loki was awesome, and a super chill guy that had incredible bedside manner. I got a small flash sale tattoo from him, and he treated me as if I was getting a full day tattoo. Love the people there, great atmosphere, and very reasonable prices.

Ive been going to Salem Ink for a few years now and every time I go it gets better. The establishment is so clean you could eat off the floor. Everyone is so friendly and positive. And my go to artist, Heather, is phenomenal. Shes a super rad person and her art is phenomenal, plus shes open to input on the design (even last minute). Shes also very considerate when it comes to your physical health and encourages taking breaks as needed. I swear Im gonna go back for every tattoo I want.

I decided to get a tattoo while on vacation from Salem Ink, and Im so glad I did! The shop was beautiful, super clean, awesome staff, and Ricky made sure I got exactly what I wanted!! He kept drawing the design to ensure it was perfectly aligned with what I was seeking. Extremely happy with my experience there!!

Clean, professional and great. This shop is up front with their policies and prices, new to tattoos friendly and very talented. I got my first tattoo a few months ago with Kat V(very pleasant and great) and I am excited to get more from her and this shop when I can.

First of all, this gallery/studio is very welcoming and impeccably clean. Seconding this, I would like to point out my (our, as I was with my friend) experience.Matt our tattoo artist, as we were walk-ins, was extremely welcoming and hospitable.Lets talk more about Matt though; he being our artist, is way beyond expectations. His knowledge and experience is very extensive (black and grey, color, lining, dot work, color). We wanted a very specific type and style based on a very dark photo of a whale I took, and he surpassed our expectations.His diligence in cleanness (tattoos are not sterile) is extensive.Hes very experienced and cultured in a wide variety of art and styles. I am personally recommending him to anyone that wishes to get tattooed.

Salem ink is amazing. Their artists are all extremely talented and never ceases to amaze me with how well they bring your inked desires to reality. Just turned 18 years old a couple weeks ago, been wanting ink ever since I was a young lad. It was finally time and I decided to go to Salem Ink and have Loki do the honors and it was such an amazing experience. Beautiful shop, a handful of different artists, and a great vibe overall. Not to mention fast responds to emails and phone calls. Loki did an amazing job with my first tattoo as the Iron Giant and overall an amazing guy. Already heading back this Friday!

I spent a couple months looking for the right place to get my new tat. I reached out to Loki who was more than helpful in getting all the details worked out for it. When I arrived at the shop, I was pleased to see that it was clean, the staff was friendly and they were doing their part to keep people safe during this unfortunate time in our world. Loki was extremely helpful before, during and after getting my work done. They were so accommodating and friendly at salem ink. My 2 sisters and I always get watching tattoo when we manage to all be together. This trip was fairly last minute so we didnt make an appointment. We walked in, and they managed to fit us in that day. Super reasonable prices, and one of the cleanest shops Ive ever seen. They have amazing art on the walls too. We are all happy with our new tattoos and if I plan another trip to salem I am going to make an appointment for more work. 5 star experience from greeting to good bye

I went to get a tattoo in honor of my brother who passed away and I told KAT what I wanted and she nailed it. She made some suggestions and they were spot on. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed, it was the first time during the week I had a good day, grief will do that. I have other tattoos from other places and this is the first one that did not hurt. She has a great personality! I will be back. Thanks KAT!

Visiting Salem for the day and walked in for a small tattoo. They were quick to get back to me about the appointment and did an excellent job! Raymond thoroughly explained how the sizing and placement of the tattoo would affect the way that it looks. Very happy with the way it came out :)

I was visiting Salem with a girl friend and we were just walking around and saw this shop. We went in because there was 1 more tattoo that I wanted to get. The shop is amazingly clean and really pretty. I like how all the artists have their own rooms with doors so its very private. Adam was really nice and patient with me. I had to have the tat I wanted emailed to me so I could show him. It was my mothers signature from her passport. My son looked it when I got home and said it was the best tattoo that I have. I had just recently got 2 earlier this year, which are very good as well, but this one stood out. Id make the trip again to go see Adam should I want another one.

So far my experience has been phenomenal, my wife first got her tattoo with Ashley who made the experience amazing. I just started getting an old tattoo covered with a new design that is a collaboration with my idea and Heathers creativity. The shop is one of the most well run places I have seen, clean, and friendly. I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone I know .

AMAZING experience. I went in on Friday with a design for a Norse sea_serpent. What better artist to have that done than by a guy named Loki. I gave him the design and told him to do ‘whatever’ he thought would make it better and more his own style. When I came back in the next day he showed me his design and I was so happy with it and blown away by it because it was such an improvement over the original design and really looked special and unique. It was a circle being placed on my upper arm and shoulder so it had a tricky placement and Loki nailed it on the first try with the stencil, the lines between the ink and the lines of my shoulder fit perfectly. I couldn’t be happier with this beautiful piece of art. And the experience itself was great, super clean and professional facilities, very friendly people, great original art everywhere, and in the room Loki was just a great cool chill guy to have a conversation with when you’re required to sit still for 3 hours.

Best place to get a tattoo in Salem. The owner is professional and wicked chill. Staff is courteous and friendly. The place is clean. I know prices vary with Tattoo designs but I thought Salem Inks price was affordable compare to other places. All the artists go above and beyond in their work. Im more than satisfied with my tattoo and I will definitely go back there in future. I highly recommend Salem Ink to anybody interested in getting a tattoo.

It was my first tat and the artist, Loki, made me feeling comfortable even throughout the session. I originally wanted a darker shade but omggg it become the color of cotton candy!! It looks so good and they are my favorite colors combined together!! Im happy about how it turn out!

My soon to be husband and I always make an annual trip to Salem, MA. This time around we decided to get tattoos to commemorate our trip. We walked into Salem Ink and asked if there would be anyway someone could see us for a walk in. Loki, the owner, was very polite & professional and told us to come back at around 5:30. Since we were on our trip, this was no problem — we continued walking around until 5:30. Loki did my tattoo and Ricky did my fiancé’s. I can honestly say that in the short time I chatted with Loki he turned out to be one of the most genuine people I’ve met. We talked movies, Netflix, television shows, relationships, teaching, college.. the list continues. Both Ricky and Loki treated us with respect and made us feel comfortable in unfamiliar tattoo territory (we both have shops that we frequent back home in western mass). Our new tradition will consist of getting a tattoo each time we visit Salem, right at Salem Ink Tattoo. Thank you guys so much for fitting us in! 11/10 would recommend.

On a trip to Salem and came across this location, it was great that they welcomed walk ins and I worked with Loki on my tattoo. Excellent conversation and the tat came out exactly how I envisioned. It didn’t even hurt! Definitely recommend this place and ask for Loki he’s a gem.

Annual trip to Salem for the Halloween Season and the weather was brutal so I figured check a box off my bucket list of getting a Halloween themed tattoo in Salem. First off the place is also a Art Gallery so there so some amazing works of art on display. Staff is friendly, listen to what you want, work on the concept, and gets down to it. Establishment is clean and sterile with clean and precise work. Really could you ask for anything more from a tattoo parlor.

Being a Salem resident I had passed by and browsed the artwork for many years. Finally pulled the trigger on my second tattoo and decided to come here. Eduardo was my very talented artist. Patient and understanding. His design and work surpassed my expectations. Awesome experience!
