Lokote Tattoos

Took a short vacation to New Mexico from Colorado for some R&R, and wanted to get a souvenir tattoo. We googled well-known tattoo shops in the area, and Lokote came with great reviews. Had an appointment with Chris on 10/9 and I couldn’t be happier. It was later in the afternoon, and he was more than willing to fit both of us in. He sat with us and helped design both pieces, and each session was flawless. Fast work, but absolutely perfected. Chris comes with 30+ years of skill, great conversation, and he is very personable. My tattoo came out amazing, and we had a lot of laughs. I will absolutely recommend Lokote to anyone and would love to go back some day. Thanks for everything, Chris !

My wife and I went in for spur of the moment tattoos with a reallllyyyy shaky concept with vague talks of prickly pears and the worst reference pics you’ve ever seen. Johnny was the artist we worked with and I can’t express enough how little information he had to go on… he somehow just like… got us. We literally walked away with a piece of him and his art on our bodies. I don’t wanna gush but seriously insanely beyond my expectations.It’s literally 1 am and we just left the studio and I’m still compelled to express my excitement and love for these tattoos.Thanks again!

If you want a high quality, high value experience, this is where you need to get your tattoo. This review is for three happy clients: myself, my childhood friend, and my husband.It was my friends first time in NM and so hard to narrow down all of the things to show her in this unique and beautiful state!!One important stop was matching tattoos to symbolize how many times our lives have overlapped, from toddlers in CT to Boulder in our 20s to Santa Fe & NY in our 50s. My husband had recently gotten a tattoo and was very happy with it, so we made an appointment and are very satisfied with the results.Im so grateful to Lokote Tattoos for providing this memory for us!I am even MORE grateful that artist Chris Lopez has a steady hand and good sense of humor, since we were a little squirmy. Plus, he was super fast, which matters in these situations. I would highly recommend Lokote Tattoos and Chris Lopez. Went there for a nose piercing, Chris did it he was extremely nice and pleasant. The whole process was super fast, this is my first piercing. Spent about 60 bucks.

After having the WORST experience at Dungeon tattoos, Lokote turned our day around. Chris was our artist and he was super friendly, professional and to the point. My wife and I were treated so poorly at the previous shop and he was able to make a negative experience a positive one. Our tattoos turned out exactly the way we wanted and it definitely made our trip to NM that much more special. If you’re in the Santa Fe area definitely stop by the shop!

Chris was great! Came in from out of town and he was able to fit myself and three other individuals the next day. He did exactly what we asked for and was quick and had excellent customer service! Ill definitely use Chris next time Im in town!

I brought my daughter and niece (who I am guardian of) in to get a nostril and septum piercing. He was very knowledgeable, kind, and patient with us. Nice little shop and very clean. I would for sure go back for any future piercings. I felt the price was fair for a knowledgeable piercer and clean environment.

I had an appointment for a piercing that he never showed up for. I should have known, since it took an email, text message and 3 phone calls just to get on the schedule. I guess my money wasnt green enough. Luckily I was able to find a same day walk in with a professional shop that takes pride in their services to their clients, since Lokote obviously didnt. I would have given zero stars if it was an option. PLUS my review keeps getting deleted. Seems very shady to me

I was looking around to get my daughter’s ears pierced (she is 10 months). I was able to come in the next day for a very reasonable price! He was very friendly, polite, and the space was very clean. He was done within 5 minutes and she didn’t even cry! Amazing!! Wish we would’ve found you sooner.

This place is hands down the best in Santa Fe! Maybe even in New Mexico. I called, literally, every shop in town desperately needing to be seen as a walk in. I absolutely had to get my work done that day. When i called it was already around 5pm. Chris answered the phone and his customer service was excellent. He told me to come by right away so he could see what i wanted. When i got there and showed him he was VERY helpful with suggestions for my tattoo which i really appreciated. He then told me his schedule for the rest of the night, which was full, but assured me that Id get my work done that night and if i called back at 7 hed know better by then when i should go in. When i called he told me to go right then! Awesome!! When i got there i met Ray. He got me back within 10 mins tops and gave a consultation that showed he really cared about my tattoo, genuinely. He had great ideas. I loved it! He got to work right away and was finished in Id say 30 mins or so. I was so comfortable i was falling asleep and this tattoo happens to be located on my ribs. It was painless. I would highly recommend getting all your work done at Lokote Tattoos. Although Ray is the only artist Ive had the pleasure of working with Im confident that all the artists are very talented. I will most definitely be returning for my future tattoos. The owner Chris worked with my timeframe, met me promptly. He’s professional, and his time is obviously valuable.I called and left a message, he called me back (many others did not call me back) within ten minutes and I was seen promptly. Not that everyone should expect such service every time, but my experience was perfection.

Very dissatisfied with my experience at Lakote! I was looking at getting a specific tattoo to commemorate an event in my life and Googled the best shops in Santa Fe. Lakote has a great website and the tattoos looked amazing so I contacted Chris (owner) and we talked briefly about what I wanted and set an appointment. Chris not only was 30 minutes late for our appointment but his next appointment also arrived while he was gone. When Chris finally did arrive he gave me maybe a 60 second consult - there was no collaboration or suggestions as the wesite indicated - only a very obvious push to get me done as quickly as possible so he could move on to his next appointment. After asking about certain aspects of the tatoo he stated he only had time to do the script or Id have to reschedule. I understand when time issues happen but I was never told my appointment was only for 30 minutes and he wasnt even there for it. Like I said, the website was great and the owner may be a brilliant artist, but the customer service was the worst Ive experienced in a long time! If youre going to put a permanent piece of art on me, maybe show a little interest or at least be as respectful of me and my time as I was with you and yours - you are the one who set the time, not me, and assured me you could give me what I was looking for. I left. Thats OK - I know I can find an equally talented artist who understands how far a little bit of customer service can go.

Chris is AMAZING he has done all of my husbands tattoos and most of mine! He is so professional and his work is amazing!! I definitely would suggest this shop. He is detail oriented and his work is a 10/10. I honestly believe that he is #1 in santa fe!!

Lokote has done my whole left arm & now started my right arm. I get many compliments on a daily on my tattoos. I can tell him what i want and he will draw it up and will come out 10 times better than i had visions.

Got nipples pierced here. Piercer used small bar instead of large. Now piercing not healing correctly because of his change. Go to the dungeon or somewhere else for a piercing.

Went more then 3 times around 5 to 6 and never were they even there, very misleading when it says open 12 to 8, very unprofessional
