Trilogy Atelier - DC Tattoo Shop Piercing Studio

In the past Maria did a tattoo rework that someone at another shop did, which left me ecstatic. (The rework. Not the original.) I went Tuesday for my first non-rework tattoo from her and absolutely adore it. She makes longer sessions very tolerable with breaks and made sure to keep her eye on how my skin was doing. Having put it on insta a shown it to friends, it’s been called gorgeous, stunning, and fabulous. I’ve also gotten actual “…damn, girl,” from more than one person. I really enjoy how she took my vague idea and created something artistic with her feel. I felt confident going for color for the first time with her doing it, too.

I’ve always had an amazing time at Trilogy Atelier. Alexis has taken great care with my piercings and Maria has always put so much work and love into my tattoos. The people who work here are wonderful artists and just great people. Definitely look into this studio if you’re trying to find a welcoming place in DC.

I absolutely loved my experience at trilogy! It is a lovely environment and my artist Rico was incredibly friendly and helpful. He doesn’t usually do small works but made the time for my walk in. I am so happy with the result!

I had an amazing experience with Rico at Trilogy Atelier, and will definitely be going back!After long waitlists and bad experiences at other tattoo parlors like Fattys, I was relieved when I could get an appointment within a month of calling, and was so impressed by their responsiveness and professionalism. Rico did an amazing job reworking a tattoo that I got ten years ago; he has great line work and shading techniques, and he gave me exactly what I wanted!I love having tattoos but I hate getting them. Thankfully Rico was totally understanding and accommodated my needs; he let me take breaks when needed, gave me a cream with lidocaine to help with the discomfort, and was kind and compassionate throughout the entire process.I cant wait to get another tattoo from Rico!

Trilogy gave me my first tattoo! I was nervous that my first piece was going to be 6 hours. I didn’t know what to expect. Artem and the team walked me through everything. Everyone was patient, instructive, and helped me have an amazing experience. I’m VERY happy with the tattoo and hope to use Artem and Trilogy again in the future.

I’ve been to this place a handful of times and always had an amazing experience! I got my upper lobes, a helix, and two tattoos done at this shop and was extremely comfortable every time. It’s very clean inside and the artists follow sanitary protocols. Would recommend. I worked with Maria specifically for my tattoos and she has great quality work!

I got my first tattoo here a couple of weeks ago and Maria was amazing! From the first day I contacted them t having the whole thing set up, the whole team was great! Got my first tattoo done by Jules and I absolutely love it!! They were so kind and gentle, walking me through the whole process and making sure I was comfortable at each step. The studio itself was super clean and had a very inclusive, welcoming environment. I cannot recommend this studio and Jules more, I will definitely be coming back!!!

I recently got a tattoo of a poem on my rib cage. It was my seventh piece overall and my first with Trilogy Atelier. Jules was my artist and Jules was an absolute professional throughout the entire experience. We met briefly and we discussed the importance of font style for the poem, which Jules delivered on to perfection. During the session, Jules was extremely professional throughout. Patient and meticulous in the tattooing and did everything to ensure that I was satisfied with the final result. I am extremely pleased with Jules’s work and will definitely be using Jules again for more pieces.

This tattoo shop is incredibly great! I sent a request in through their website for my 6th tattoo, and from minute one it was the best experience! And look - I love the shops/artists for my prior 5, but this was a cut above! They reached out right away from my request and suggested their guest artist, Nazar, for the black and gray hawk tattoo I was looking for. They helped coordinate all of my communication with Nazar before my appointment and were so kind and responsive. And then my appointment day fully surpassed expectations. From the minute I got there until when I left 8 hours later it was the most professional, friendly, artistic. — just COMMUNITY — experience. I loved it. And I LOVE THIS TATTOO SO MUCH! Alexis is very quiet and nice. He was extremely patient. He walked me through the entire process. He showed much concern for my pain and feelings. Im definitely going back for the other side. The entire vibe was great. The people the place was soothing. 😃🤩☺️☺️

I came here for a paw print tattoo to memorialize my beloved cat. Id never had a tattoo before, so I was a little nervous.The folks at Trilogy Atelier were wonderful from the minute we walked in. John, the owner, checked me in and sympathized with me about the death of my cat. He shared how hed his St. Bernard passed four years ago and he still was grieving. That told me I was in the right place.Fabio was the artist I selected (at the recommendation of a friend). I watched him sanitize the work area. He did a great job of taking her paw print and aligning it with her name. He adjusted the stencil placement at my request by a half an inch. He used a small cordless tattoo gun with a single-use, sterile disposable needle – much friendlier than the big metal ones I remembered seeing in movies. And it didnt actually hurt all that much! The finished tattoo looks so good - you can see the details from where the fur between her toes touched the paper. The fine line tattoo for her name is crisp and clean.Afterwards, John was so excited for me to have joined the tattoo club. He remarked on the wrist placement – that it can be painful, though he didnt necessarily want to tell me that – and Fabio noted that I sat like a champ.I was given clear instructions on how to care for it (SecondSkin for a couple of days, and how to remove that when it was time), and told to call or email with any questions or concerns.I would recommend Trilogy Atelier to anyone who needs/wants a tattoo. I am so grateful to have this small piece of my cat with me forever - and to wear my heart on my sleeve, so to speak. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

This was my first tattoo! Fabio did an amazing job, checked in during the process, and gave aftercare instructions. Also, he drew the design himself based off of my instructions and really listened to what I wanted and envisioned. Highly recommend Trilogy and Fabio, especially if you’re looking for great fine line work.

The whole grew at Trilogy Atelier are top notch. I had my work done by Dima who is a frequent guest artist. I could not be happier with the work that Dima did. He is a beast . My boyfriend and I were both tattooed by Dedo, a guest international artist who is just all around INCREDIBLE. We got our dog portrait on us and words can’t describe how happy we are. We are blown away over how amazing our experience was here. The atmosphere and aesthetic is totally different than your average tattoo shop which was so refreshing. Trilogy was amazing. Fabio did a brilliant job on my tattoos. Better than I could have asked for! The environment is so welcoming and comfortable, even down to the music. Fabio was more than willing to work with me on the design until we reached something I loved. I could not be more happy about the tattoos.

Setting up the appointment was seamless. They responded to all of my questions and very timely manner when it came down to arrival the shop was very clean and the piercer made me feel very comfortable. I would definitely return and recommend you give them a try.

I had gotten a tattoo here prior and had no complaints. However I got a (very overpriced) tattoo done here with a guest artist and less than a month later it has almost faded completely. I was told that I could come in for a free touch-up and it was incredibly annoying to reschedule it. At this point I’m just going to laser it off because it has been such a hassle dealing with them. Please don’t hire guest artists that don’t know what they’re doing :).

Artist Rico - crushed it today!! This is a great shop with very talented artists, and an awesome staff. Watched them expertly accommodate several different tattoo styles while having this Eagle done!! Highly recommend Trilogy Atelier!!

This shop is so great and trustworthy. I reached out over email and Jules was so comforting and quick with their response. They were excited about my tattoo and made booking an appointment so easy. Jules relieved any anxiety I was feeling immediately. Rico was my tattoo artist - he is incredibly down to earth and real. He made me feel so comfortable. He was so kind to take on my small, simple, fine line piece when he is used to creating dark ornamental bigger pieces. The atmosphere inside is beautiful. Also, their social media content is so professional. I would definitely return here :)

I booked an appointment with Moses for a cover up tattoo. I told him that I wanted a butterfly and he created different designs for me to choose from. My tattoo looks amazing! Moses is the bomb! The shop is very nice and well decorated place but the customer service and attention to detail is 5 star. I will definitely be back for my scorpion tattoo.

Super experience at Trilogy! Worked with Faith through a couple of iterations of what I wanted (a text tattoo), which was great. Very receptive, creative, & open to feedback. The tattooing itself was great: friendly, welcoming, and explained everything. This was my 2nd tattoo, and a far superior experience than my first! Id recommend first timers AND anyone who wants a personalized, straightforward experience go here.

I have been to Tattoo Atelier three times since March of 2023. I did two full day sessions and one four hour session for a peacock sleeve which was a cover up. I had Artem as my tattoo artist and he has exceptional skill when it comes to tattooing. The cover up was seamless, you can’t even tell there was a prior tattoo there. He works pretty fast and the colors always heals vibrantly. His skill is unique and it’s very clear that he has worked very hard to master his craft. I get compliments on my tattoo everywhere I go. His technique in realism is unlike anything I’ve seen and I’m very happy that I was able to get his work on me. It was SO worth the wait.Not only that, Trilogy Atelier has the NICEST staff I have ever experienced. I have been getting tattoos for 7 years and typically shops are not very warm and welcoming, but this shop was immediately. The staff, artists, and management really care about each other and their clients and it shows. While I would be getting tattooed, you would see everyone checking out the tattoos and being really supportive to each other. It was really refreshing to see such a positive work environment and positive attitude in the shop. If there is any misunderstanding or obstacles, the staff is so quick and respectful when it comes to finding a resolution. They are so understanding and show how much they care about their clients leaving in love with their tattoos. The staff member I spoke with the most was named Reza and he was very friendly and kind. Usually, shops have a “take it or leave it” vibe, but not here. This shop is incredible, truly the best shop I’ve ever been to. If you are debating coming here, I HIGHLY recommend. I was so blown away by my experience with them that I’m happy to write the most positive review for them!

I got a tattoo from Gee at Trilogy Atelier and had a great experience. Check in was friendly and quick. Everyone in the shop was welcoming and friendly and I felt completely comfortable during the whole experience of being tattooed. Gee is an amazing artist and I loved the design she did for me. The shop is very clean and professional but also stylish and has a nice vibe. I would definitely consider getting another tattoo here and will recommend it to friends.

Absolutely fantastic new local tattoo shop! The space was very clean and nicely decorated. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I booked with a guest artist (Gee) and the process was super easy and smooth. Highly recommend! They took my Fallout idea and made it into an incredible work of art. Great experience here for my first tattoo. I got my late dog on my forearm and was nervous about how it would come out because she is all black and has very expressive eyes. Dedo did a fantastic job. He was so patient and open to what I was hoping to achieve. His artistic skills are incredible and the detail in his work is unmatched. The studio is clean, welcoming and has a great all around vibe. The entire staff is warm, welcoming and easy to talk to. I loved my experience at Trilogy and cant recommend them enough. They truly have unmatched talent in their artists.

Trilogy Atelier is a wonderful shop. John and Toni have created a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere with an incredibly strong international group of talented artists. Artem is nothing short of spectacular in his craft. He is a delight to work with and the pieces he has produced are truly brilliant. I keep coming back for more, which really is the best endorsement I can give and reflects just how special this place is. I have also watched Rico and Fabio work and they are superb, in addition to being very amiable gentlemen.The shop is clean, modern, and inviting. Be aware it is on the second floor of the building (for those who have mobility restrictions) and more often than not you require an appointment booked in advance. Rest assured it is worth it.

Took us as walk-ins for two tattoos and two piercings. Everyone was super kind and professional! Fabio worked with us to specifically design the tattoos that we wanted and was super patient with the changes that we wanted. The whole experience was great and we will definitely come back here - pricing was super reasonable as well.

Decided to get my first tattoo and got a fine line, minimalist tattoo. They took walk-ins which was great! Fabio, the artist did an amazing job with understanding exactly what I wanted and designing the tattoo for me. The studio is clean and everyone was very professional. They also provided detailed after care instructions. Definitely going back here for more tattoos!

I found this place based on google and the 5 stars are well deserved. The studio is nice, warm, and has friendly staff. But let me tell you about Rico! Rico did my tattoos and I absolutely LOVE them. I wanted tattoos in Farsi (Persian) calligraphy and Rico did an amazing job. I got a poem by Rumi on my back and another Farsi phrase (Woman Life Freedom) on my forearm. Doing calligraphy in another language is not easy but Rico killed it! His technique was amazing! He was attentive, detail-oriented and listened carefully to what I wanted. Plus he was super fun to work with! 100% recommend especially for anyone looking to do calligraphy! I for sure will be back to see him if I decide to get more tattoos!

I got a small 2-inch tattoo from Fabio (the pics are of the original and post infection) and it got SEVERELY infected! I followed all of the care instructions to a T but walked away with a tattoo infected in four places and a 10 day regiment of antibiotics. I talked with another trusted tattoo artist who said this is one of the most OVERWORKED and INFECTED tattoos they have ever seen, and they suspected it was a staph infection likely gotten from an unsanitary studio.UPDATE: A member of their staff named Tony reached out to me. She was very kind and apologetic, and offered me a full refund. She also said that Fabio (who I spoke with repeatedly about the infection) had never alerted them to the situation, so she hadn’t heard of any if this until my review. She assured me that their needles are sterile and single use and that they have never had a similar incident. It was still an incredibly upsetting ordeal but I do feel a lot better about it after speaking with her.

I booked with Trilogy Atelier for my first arm piece and second tattoo. I had an idea of what I wanted but wasn’t 100% set on anything quite yet. Originally I booked with Faith, and went back and forth with her on a design- she was very responsive and took my considerations into account. Faith ended up leaving the shop, and the staff at Trilogy made it super easy to find a new artist and get my design figured out. I ended up getting tattooed by Fabio. The studio is very well decorated and clean, and all staff were very friendly. My tattoo took the expected time, and honestly blew away all my expectations- it genuinely looks so good. After, they fixed me up with aftercare instructions and second skin. Would 100% recommend this shop!!

Loved the vibe and overall experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The communication was key to the experience - from tattoo submission, consultation and to the actual appointment the staff was organized and there to answer any questions I had. My artist was Lola and she did an incredible job - the quality was top notch but best of all her hands moved quickly which minimized the pain along my ribcage and she made sure I was comfortable and took breaks as necessary. I will definitely be a repeat customer! Super thrilled with the results :) For context I had a fine line tattoo along my breast line around the chest towards the shoulder took roughly 4 hrs.

I came to Trilogy for my first tattoo and had a great experience! The shop was really clean and welcoming, and the staff made it so easy to make an appointment. Fabio was the artist working with me, and he was really great at helping me decide exactly what I was looking for. The process itself was very smooth, and Im so happy with how it turned out. Fabio did my first ever tattoo (Im 50). Id had one less than stellar experience after another attempting to get a fine line tattoo. Either the minimums and scheduling availability were laughable ( I was willing to work in a trip to LA to visit a few shops Id come across on Instagram). I gave up on that and visited a popular shop in Crofton as a walk in. Awful experience and a time waste. Googled and found this beautiful shop. They took me same day, and Fabio nailed the picture Id sent him. That was last year. Last week my twin daughters wanted us three to get matching tatts for their 18th birthday - three swallows. Fabio nailed it again. He was fast, neat, personable and reasonably priced. We LOVE our art work. A young man I believe is the owner/manager there was awesome and so welcoming. Beautiful job Trilogy Atelier. Youve got my business for life

My mom and I had the best experience getting both of our first Tattoos here! The atmosphere was amazing, the studio has such a cool touch to it and you immediately feel comfortable and safe. I had such a great experience here! I got a floral tattoo from Lola, and she was incredible -- super nice and friendly, really great to work with, and so so talented! Im so thrilled with the design she came up with for me; I wasnt exactly sure what I wanted my tattoo to look like and how I wanted the placement to work, and Lola came up with the perfect idea. The atmosphere in the whole shop was super welcoming and clean, and everyone I interacted with was awesome. Im so glad I found this place, Ill definitely make another appointment at some point!!

Absolutely phenomenonal studio. I had the absolute honor of working with Mr. Fabio, who truly is an artist at what he does! I had a very complicated oil painting done and was a bit nervous about finding the perfect fit for the job, but every step of the way, from the owners to the artist, Trilogy Atelier was there to support me, advise me, consult, and (of course) tattoo me. I cant believe theyve been open only for seven months! Mr. Fabio was incredibly focused, diligent about detail, and attuned to my physical condition during the entire session. The owner was incredibly kind, offering me water and encouraging me through my consultation and session. They are not only consummate professionals, but simply genuine artists. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my next tattoo!

Absolutely incredible tattoo parlor! Its in a good location, their sanitation practices are outstanding, and the artists are top notch. I got tattooed by the guest artist, Dedo, and I could not be any happier -- he did even better than I could have hoped for. Im planning on getting another from him when hes back in town.Since I got my tattoo ~3 weeks ago, Ive suggested this place to about 30 people (coworkers, family, friends) and my husband is even going to be getting his first tattoo here in just a few days. Got my long awaited tattoo done by David! Whole experience was lovely and so accommodating. He went out of his way to make my tattoo happen for me the day that I needed it done before going home for the holidays. Not only that, but the space was amazing and made me feel so comfortable. I have gotten a few pieces done before, but if I were a first timer, this place would have eased my worries. Desk assistant (I forget his name haha) was just as sweet and genuine. Will be coming back again for sure!

I had such an amazing experience here for my first tattoo! First of all, the vibe is so chill & welcoming yet very high end. I got my work done by Rico and he literally exceeded any expectations I had for my tattoos and was so fun/easy to work with! I got a tattoo by a guest artist Dedo and I absolutely loved my whole experience, the environment is welcoming and the music creates the perfect atmosphere to be creative! All the artists were welcoming and would come over while Dedo was working and would talk to me about my inspiration behind the design and they explained different aspects of the tattoo process that really made me feel at ease while I was in the chair! I would 110% recommend this place to anyone looking for their next tattoo!

My experience at this shop was amazing. It was ver professional and welcoming. I got a tattoo done by Lola and her work is amazing! We ended up having to change the design to work with my existing tattoos and she was extremely knowledge and helpful through the whole process. 10/10 highly recommend! In town for my anniversary, so my fiancé and I got matching tattoos. We called the day off and we’re given an appointment. The staff was amazing and the environment was badass. Rico was our tattoo artist - a super down to earth & talented artist. In love with how they turned out!

Went to their Friday the 13th flash event. It was well run and clean, but my tattoo itself has some uneven line thickness. I was able to go back and get it touched up. I got a custom piece done with Rico and he is super talented. He worked with me closer than any other artists before to make sure the design was exactly as I imagined.

First time getting a tattoo in this shop and this place has a very relaxing atmosphere, which I love when getting a long session. Great vibes, clean shop, nice conversations, great owner, and talented artists.Yesterday, Özge , a guest artist from Turkey gave me an awesome leg piece and I would love to get tatted here again sometime in the future. Highly recommend for those who are in the DMV area to come through.

So happy i went to trilogy atlier for my first tattoo. the interior is amazing first of all - gotta love a good ambiance. the artist i had was rico and he was super kind and responsive to all my requests and the 100s of tweaks i had him do. knowing it was my first tattoo, rico explained what i should expect to feel and when he began actually tattooing he did a simple line within my tattoo first so i could get an idea of how it would feel. that definitely made me feel a lot more at ease with the whole process. theyre also reasonably priced in my opinion. they also have amazing guests artists come in from time to time!! i would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo :)

If you need a first tattoo go here. Anyone of the people in there earned their spot and are there for a reason. I had David and got Creation of Adam tattooed. It was like watching a human photo copy machine. Worth every cent. Also as a person of color with a darker skin tone I can say David nailed the image on the head. Also John at the front Desk was super awesome and professional with Aftercare instructions. I will be back in a month or two tops.

I contacted Trilogy immediately after reading about their opening, got a response right away, and was able to book a consult within a day. The space is beautiful and immaculately clean, great vibe, everyone is extremely friendly and professional. I ended up working with Moses to create a design and get the tattoo done right then and there, and it looks perfect. If I wasn’t leaving DC I’d be coming here for all future ink!

Fabio is the MAN!!! So attentive to my needs and helped me start a beautiful thin line shaded patchwork sleeve. Jules at the front desk was so kind to me too. Definitely coming back for some more.

Went with my mom and I was not planning to get a tattoo but the shop was so nice I wanted to get one anyways. The interior was clean and elevated. The staff was super friendly and Fabio did amazing work on both me and my mom. 10/10 would go again to get a more intricate piece next time.

AMAZING spot! I’ve lost count of how many tattoos I have — from shops all over the country — and Trilogy Atelier provided the most comfortable, professional, and relaxed experience by FAR. They could see me day-of because I wanted something simple and the shop opened about a month ago, but they’ll be booked like crazy soon so get on it.I only had tiny text done (beautifully, by Moses) because I wanted to see what the vibe was before getting something bigger. Lettering, artistry, and vibe are unmatched — I’ll absolutely be back. Moses was also exceptionally informative re: aftercare, and the shop itself is beautiful.Dude at the front desk was kind, funny, and enthusiastic yet calming. I’m sorry I forgot your name! Youre a hunk! So glad this place opened — a lot of D.C. shops can be kinda... smug. Thank you, guys!

As an avid lover and connoisseur of both tattoos and the shops that provide them I’m hard pressed to think of a cooler space, ambiance and vibe that they provide. Not only that but I was lucky to catch one of their amazing traveling artists who left me with arguably my favorite tat to date (I’m 20 inks deep). The process was easy and fun so I couldn’t recommend this shop any higher if I tried!!

Faith has done several tattoos for me over the last year and i’m so happy with them. she does amazing work and you can tell she genuinely cares about her work and meeting her clients needs. definitely recommend going to her !! 10/10

My friends and I came, I was tattooed by Faith and they were tattooed by Moses. We were all pleased with our designs and enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop. The staff was very friendly and professional. Would highly recommend!

Shop is nice but dont book with Artem. Hes a copy and paste artist with no real substance. Gave me the wrong tattoo now I have to get a cover up.
