Maria was super friendly, incredibly attentive, and easy to be around. She drew up multiple designs for us, and we loved them all. The studio was clean and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend Canvas tattoo to anyone in Charlotte and specifically Maria! She was awesome and did an amazing job on our matching tattoos.

Fantastic experience!! Me and two of my other friends were walk-ins and they went above and beyond to fit us all in! Everyone we encountered was so pleasant and professional, and the shop is so clean and decorated very cool! Our artist Pandora was the best!! She was so chill, had a great music selection, and did great work on our tattoos. We all love ours!! Definitely check this place out if youre ever in North Carolina, you will not have a bad experience!!

This shop is extremely professional. Artists are knowledgeable and very friendly. Their prices are higher than other shops I checked, but you will definitely get what you pay for here. The work and experience I had were definitely worth the price of the tattoo. My artist was Jaider, and I cannot recommend him enough. He is extremely talented and very professional. He made sure I was comfortable and was very accommodating throughout our 9 hour session. This is the best tattoo experience I have had, and will definitely be back when it is time to have another piece done.

First time in, the lady who handles the front is very polite and works with you. Felipe was the artist we worked with and he was passionate about his work and very detailed in what he wanted to do. Tattooed my wife after my consult and done an amazing job .

Soldier took my input, developed a design, took feedback on my design, tweaked the design then executed a tattoo better than I imagined. Amazingly talented artist. Would 1000% recommend him.

Overall had a great experience here for my first tattoo. The appointment set up was very easy, just a simple email and a call got me set up for my appointment. Pandora was my artist and her work is incredible. She free handed my entire tattoo which turned out amazing. I have been getting tattoos for over 20 years and I can say Tucker Sword is easily the most talented artist I have ever had the pleasure working with. He has done two half sleeves for me and is now working on my full chest piece. I have been going to him for 4 years now and his talent and creativity only gets better and better. Had an amazing experience. From calling for information and asking a multiple of questions that were all answered with kindness to checking out the cool layout and cleanliness of the place, to the actual tattoo experience.My artist Chad knew what I wanted more than I did :) He drew the artwork exactly how i wanted and he worked with me to make slight changes for the final product. His light hand gave me cool tattoo with not as much pain as I expected. We traveled from Albany, NY to Charlotte, NC to get tattoos and Chad and Canvas Tattoo & Art Gallery made it one of the highlights of our trip.

After my sister passed, me and my other sister decided we wanted to honor her with matching tattoos. We googled are and found canvas tattoo, made an appointment, and off we went. Our artist worked with us to assemble exactly what we wanted. Combining several images together. Some bigger, some smaller, different placement, etc. He did a great job. This was our first tattoo and we were a bit nervous, but it turned out to not be that big of a deal pain wise. I live in WI and came back to canvas just for the touch up! I now have three tattoos and am looking forward to a few more. Very friendly, clean, professional, etc. I highly recommend them.

My husband and I came to spend the day in Charlotte and ended up wanting to get a tattoo spur of the moment. We stumbled across here after eating lunch down the street. We walked in and immediately was greeted by the friendly staff and they were able to fit us in right then. Maria did my tattoo and she was super nice and had an awesome vibe! Ive had 6 tattoos done here and ALL of them have been on point. My favorite artist is Chad. He was so nice and chill. He listened to what I wanted and made me feel at home (I know that might sound weird). He helped me with sizing and tweaking what I wanted to make my tattoos look awesome. His line work is gooood.

Had my first tattoo experience with Tucker and it couldn’t have been better. He is an incredibly talented artist and great guy to work with. I brought him a reference image and he did a great job adapting this to a design that I loved. I will for sure be returning for more work with him in the future.

This was my first time getting a tattoo and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I had Natalie as my tattoo artist and she gave me the best first tattoo I could ask for! She was very polite and made sure I was doing ok the whole appointment. Getting this done meant a lot to me and Natalie nailed it. Front desk is also very friendly and helpful with getting me and my friend in for our visit, made the process super easy.

Ive always wanted a watercolor tattoo, so when I stumbled across Soldier at Canvass Tattoo on Instagram and saw his work, I was stoked! He did an incredible job not only covering up part of a previous tattoo but also added this stunning watercolor effect that totally blew me away. Soldier was super honest and straightforward about what to expect throughout the process, which I really appreciated. His talent is off the charts— I couldn’t be happier with my tattoo! I have waited for a very, very long time to get my first tattoo. From the first consultation to the completed work, Soldier is a pleasure to work with. All 6 of my tattoos have been done by different people. Maria is the first one that I want to go back to a second time. Her specialty is in geometric design, but also fine line work. She explained she enjoys the patience of going pore-by-pore to make the line work extra fine. She was professional, approachable, and easy to talk to. I’m looking forward to the next tattoo I schedule with her:)

I came in as a walk-in and got tatted by Chad. It was my first time visiting the studio, as I live out of state. I was impressed by both the atmosphere and customer service. Both receptionists, location 1 & 2, were both super sweet and attentive. Chad was amazing to work with, he tatted both me and my fiancé. We both loved his energy and his work, he was accommodating, personable, and humorous. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip.

I came in as a walk in. I never know what I’m getting tattoo artist wise. This time I was genuinely shocked, Anna, was ethereal. Her work and disciple when it comes to sanitation is immaculate. I pay attention to everything, so does she. She even made the tatto I asked for better quality, prettier, adding her talent to it. She is assertive and very detailed which I appreciate. I really loved my experience here and will be coming back for all of my tattoos to her. It’s worth the five hour drive.

Maria Fernanda is the absolute best. I have multiple tattoos and now I only have her do my work. Ive been to her twice now and this last time a major full spine tattoo that she personally designed. To say how beautiful it is would be such an understatement. She does outstanding work!!

This shop is great. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and treats you with respect. The artist I worked with was dedicated to working on my tattoo and doing it right. There was a language barrier between us but that did not stop him from delivering one of the best tattoo experiences Ive ever had. My work isnt finished yet but I still have gotten compliments from everyone whos seen it and I am confident when its fully finished that the work will be a masterpiece. Noyan did my tattoo here and did an amazing job!!! It was my first tattoo ever and he did amazing, I honestly didn’t feel much pain but he made me feel comfortable the whole time and asked if I needed any breaks. He also took the time and helped me pick my design and customized it to my liking which made it completely personalized and unique. The price was very reasonable as well for the time spent and work done. I definitely will be going back here for the rest of my tattoos and recommend him 1000000%!!!!!!!

I recently (yesterday) did a full day session with Anastasia. To say I walked away with the best tattoo I have is an understatement. Booking was made easy with Anastasia, she was also super helpful in making sure I got exactly what I wanted prior to the tattoo. Before yesterday, I had only ever sat for a tattoo for maybe an hour and a half to two hours, so taking on this beast was difficult. The line work and shading is absolutely phenomenal and so is the customer service. Anastasia, other tattoo artists and even the receptionist were so kind and supportive during the times I needed to take breaks (which was often). They had Gatorade and snacks to give me and helped me keep pushing through, without them I probably would’ve tapped out on the tattoo. If you’re looking for a great tattoo shop where you’re going to get outstanding work and customer service/support then this is it. Also, did I mention this was a cover up? Pictures below!

Anyi does great fine line work. This was my and my mom’s first tattoos, and we were a little nervous. She was kind and decisive which helped in figuring out placing and sizing. I would absolutely recommend her! The shop was clean and the ladies who work the front desk are so generous with answering any and all questions.

We came in as a walk in on a Saturday afternoon and they got my brother and I in really fast. The lady at the front was super friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is awesome! We both had small hand tattoos that Chad did for us and he did a great job. He was very professional and personable. For my bigger tattoos, I had Noyan who was amazing! He took some random pictures I had on my phone and was able to put them together in the perfect way to create my tattoos. He was very fast but very detailed in his work and I LOVE what he created. I also had two ear piercings I wanted done and Mari did great with them. She walked me through the process and kept everything very sterile and clean. I will 100% be going back for my next tattoos soon!

Maria (insta: @mafer.ink) did an INCREDIBLE job!! I did a walk-in for a floral/abstract tattoo that I’ve been wanting a for over a year, but couldn’t find an artist to bring it to life. Soldier was fantastic. Very personable and made sure I was fully onboard with the stencil and placement before we began. I could tell his top priority was making sure I loved the art. The only thing better than his care was his ability to tattoo. My art required him to pull some very fine lines and he knocked it out of the park.

Thank you noyan, Best experience as first tattoo. Only thing I would suggest for the business itself is maybe a quick brochure for aftercare for first timers for tattoos. I had no clue how it was supposed to look like as it heals. But other than that Noyan did an amazing job. Will be back :)

Canvas tattoo has been our go to studio over the past year. We have tried several locations in our home town and the Charlotte area, but this is the first studio we have visited more than once. Mike Barnhill is the only artist we have used so far but he is the absolute best. He did a great cover up on me and a delicate design on my wife. This location was highly recommended to us and for good reason.

My best friend and I were vacationing in Charlotte and decided to get a tattoo. After some google searching we came across canvas tattoo. Our great experience started with the receptionist who helped us make our appointment. She was so kind and willing to answer all of our questions and if she didn’t know the answer she got it quickly.When we arrived for our appointment we were greeted kindly. The atmosphere was welcoming and the energy was positive.We had Anyi and Noyan as our artists they worked together to create a design that both of us liked. We had them change several things about the design and they had no problem making the adjustments. Both artists were very professional and knowledgeable and did a great job. Anyi is literally so talented. I wanted 2 simple fine line tattoos. I walked in and the atmosphere was so welcoming whether you have 1 tattoo or 10000 tattoos, they treat everyone so kindly. I chatted with 2 of the employees while I waited and they spoke to me like I was their friend. Anyi sat with me and drew out exactly what I wanted and was very patient with me. While doing the tattoo she went above and beyond my expectation. She went out of her way to get a specific needle for my tattoo and worked her heart out on it. I was shocked watching her do it how precise she was. I couldn’t even see the tip of the needle it was so tiny and she picked up and put it back down on the same hair strand line. I will 1111000% be coming back for more and requesting Anyi!

We walked into Canvas with a vague idea of what we wanted other than knowing we wanted a flame and we wanted it to look cool. We were paired with the perfect artist, Anyi, who helped us figure out the coolest design. Anyi was the best and we had an amazing experience. Will be back next time I’m in CLT!!!

Got a nature linework tattoo Ive been dreaming of for years from Elisa Sanchez and she absolutely nailed it. I love the design, size, and placement and it even took a whole hour less time than initially predicted! Not to mention the edgy beautiful aesthetic of the shop and easy-going confidence of the artists. Im not planning any more ink but if I was, I would be excited to return again and again. You cant go wrong with Canvas! They were pretty far out as far as scheduling though (4-5 months), so make sure to plan ahead - theyre behind because they are excellent at what they do.

Kinda expensive but you will always come out with a perfect tattoo. I’ve gotten 3 different tattoos and I’ve always had a positive experience. Staff is also super nice.

Maria was absolutely amazing. She covered up a small tattoo on my wrist and it came out exactly how I wanted. She also tattooed my children’s initials on me and my husband. Came out beautiful. We look forward to going back to her again!

My daughters and I were in Charlotte for a few days, staying in the NODA area. We spotted the shop, and decided to inquire about similar tats to celebrate my birthday. The manager, Kayty, was very helpful with understanding what we wanted and the style we wanted. Connected us with Anna for my daughter and Noyan for mine. Both turned out awesome! I had started my sleeve on Saturday with Tucker and I will tell you the absolute best experience I have had a tattoo parlor. The place is wicked clean, everyone in the place is amazing and so sweet. Tucker is an absolute amazing tattoo artist,u tell him what u want in it and he adds his spice(as long as ur down for that) and makes ur visions even better than u expect. Yhr tiny little flower work still just blows my mind..The environment is great the vibe is on point and I cant wait to go back and continue. Ive had five 8 hr sessions with Maria for a full sleeve. She is fantastic. Her artwork is beautiful and the line work is phenomenal. She specializes in geometric shapes and line work .

I was able to get a same-day appointment on my birthday for a super fun Dolly inspired tattoo! I am from out of town and was thoroughly impressed by the ships setup and atmosphere. Derrick was awesome and made my design look better than the flash I picked it from. Will be back when I’m visiting Charlotte again.

An amazing experience for my first tattoo! My artist was Puff Smith, and this was self-harm scar cover up. I searched for an artist to cover up my scars for months and nobody would help me... alas I found Puff! He was immediately confident he could take on the challenge and turn my pain to beauty.During our consultation he listened to me and truly cared about my story. We set 4 appointments (he was booked out about 6 months) to work on a floral forearm piece in neo-traditional / Japanese style.We were able to knock it out in 2 sessions! A total of about 7-8 hours of tattoo time. He does take breaks, but he will not charge you for that off-time whatsoever.He is very clean and meticulous and will set up equipment in front of you in the most sanitary way. He also does not charge for the time that takes. Only true hours tattooed.He is also a great conversationalist! Get ready for deep, philosophical conversations! If you prefer to be quiet, he also respects that and mirrors your energy.Overall FANTASTIC first experience!!!

My artist was Noyan and he did an amazing job! He assumed that the tattoo would take about an 1 hour but got it done perfectly in 45 min I am in love with it and am definitely coming back!

Mandi was my tattoo artist and she did an amazing job. She made sure I was comfortable during my tattoo (its on my left upper thigh) and brought my vision to life. When we first met, she listened to what I was looking for and created something that means so much to me. Everyone at the shop was friendly and the shop was very clean.I highly recommend Mandi and Canvas Tattoo. Im already thinking of what I want to get next and I know I will be returning.

It was great, I emailed the front desk girl for a few days before booking my appointment she was incredibly helpful and patient when it came to picking an artist and setting up an appointment. My artist was Haven and her mentor Tucker, both of them were incredibly friendly and came up with a beautiful design for me. I have the first part of my tattoo completed and I’m definitely coming back in 2-3 weeks to get it finished.

Haven was amazing she made the whole experience so incredible. The music the people, the vibes, were on point. Everything turned out even better than what we expected. 10/10

I researched many places for my first tattoo and hands down Canvas was the best choice. Each artist has amazing work and takes the time to make your piece sing. I had a fantastic experience as a Walk-In. Maria @mafer.ink was able to finish a large Floral Piece on my forearm and absolutely killed it! She was super gentle with me and gave me a super high quality tattoo that is absolutely stunning. I am so happy we were able to get this done all in one sitting! Pandora is an amazing artist and I couldn’t be happier with my tattoo! I was in NC visiting family and she was not only very flexible about getting me in for a consultation and my actual tattoo, but she even made a two session tattoo into one!! She showed a lot of expertise in her field with her techniques and recommendations on the tattoo style/details but also with the way she completed my tattoo. I was getting compliments on the piece before it was even finished by people simply walking by!!The tattoo came out beautiful and I couldn’t be happier with my experience at the Canvas Tattoo shop or with her. I worked with Puff Smith on the concept for my tattoo, I wanted a sleeve of a Phoenix sitting on a branch at night with the tail feathers flowing down my arm. He offered ideas on adjustments to the design and it was very collaborative! His challenge was that he was going to be tattooing over very heavy scar tissue, so it was essentially a cover-up. It turned out even better than what I had originally pictured! He blended everything beautifully with my skin! I was most impressed by how he freehanded the tail-feathers, they are probably my favorite part of the tattoo. The only thing I have to say as a critique is that I wish he could have been a little more punctual with our sessions, but he did try to make up for that time as well. Puff was a pleasure to work with, he is super sweet and great to talk to! He was also very gentle while tattooing, which I appreciated because this was my first tattoo of this size. The atmosphere in the shop was great and it was always very clean, it was nice to see the precautions they took for COVID. Also I think it was a really nice touch for them to have complimentary toiletries for clients in the bathroom.All in all I had a wonderful experience and I could not be prouder and more thankful with how great my tattoo turned out, its like a dream come true to not see those awful scars on my arm anymore! I will be a customer for life and will send you guys as much business as I can! ♥️

Ive gotten 29 tattoos in my life from New Orleans to Vermont so far... Tucker from Canvas has done my last 10 - and there is no other studio I will EVER go to other than Canvas. Literally the most talented humans in the cleanest and most professional studio I have ever been in. They arent the run of the mill copy-and-paste tattoo experience - they are actual artists, and that makes all the difference. Going to Canvas is hands down the best decision you could ever make for your body! We just nailed down the started the left full sleeve work, and I cant wait to get back in there!!!

Can’t say enough good things. First time getting a tattoo and Canvas went above and beyond to fit me into the schedule quickly and make me feel comfortable. Maria, the artist that did my tattoo, was awesome! Took my (very) vague ideas and created a really special, sentimental tattoo that I love. The environment and overall tattoo experience was great. Maria was quick, precise, and made it relatively painless. Fun music, conversation, and even Christmas karaoke. Don’t know if I will get any more tattoos, but if I do it will be at Canvas and with Maria.Side note: they also took my wife as a walk-in during my consultation and Noyan crushed her tattoo on the spot. We are both thrilled with the outcome.

I got both a tattoo and Tragus piercing last weekend and my experience was nothing short of amazing!! Anna is an incredible artist and she brought my vision to life with nothing more than a reference picture. I can’t tell you how happy I am with it— it’s detailed, delicate, and was relatively painless. She was also so great to talk to about the meaning behind it and just life in general. If I add to my collection of tattoos, I will only be booking with her!Mari was the not only the super friendly front desk manager, she was also the piercer who took the time to walk me through my options and help match the jewelry to my already existing ones. She was so patient and managed to check people in, answer the phone, and fit me in for an unscheduled piercing like it was nothing.Overall, Canvas is a fantastic place to get both tattoos and piercings. They have a super friendly, talented and knowledgeable staff; very fair prices; comfortable and clean environment; and I really can’t recommend them enough! Thanks all!!

Staff was great, very nice and welcoming. The shop was clean, well decorated, and visually appealing. I had read good reviews and seen some of the work from various artists at the shop, and felt comfortable choosing this shop, as someone not from the area. Unfortunately, the quality of my tattoo was not great, and certainly not worth the cost for the quality of the final piece. I don’t mind paying high end rates for nice work. I’m an artist myself and understand that an artist’s time has value. However, final outcome and quality also effects the value of a piece, and this was unfortunately not representative of what I paid. This is my 9th tattoo, but my first time at this shop or with this artist. I won’t name the artist’s name here because I’ve seen some of their other work, and they are very talented. I don’t want to sh*t on them. However, they were either in a rush the day I got mine done, or just didn’t care enough to make an effort. The lines on my piece are shaky and uneven, there are full areas that aren’t blacked in where the should be (non color tattoo,) and other areas where the ink looks smudged and lines blur together. It’s all together sloppy, and does not look like my design. It was not an incredibly difficult or detailed design. There was absolutely no after care instruction given, not even verbally. Thankfully, I know how to care for a tattoo, but even so, it healed with some scarred areas where the artist was too heavy handed while filling in the black areas. I contacted the shop and made sure to complement them on the staff and everything that was positive about my experience, before explaining the multiple issues with the tattoo and how disappointed I was (I legitimately was in tears over it at one point.) I sent very clear photos of the issues. Despite their website saying they stand behind their work, they never contacted me back. Nothing. Crickets. It leaves me feeling like their bottom line is the money, not their actual work or their clients. That is maybe the most disappointing part of this whole experience. My current artist (at another shop) was aghast at the quality for what I paid, and now has to fix the piece, which leaves me out even more money.

My brother and I got matching fine line tattoos. To say that we are happy wouldbe an understatement! The full experience was just awesome. Our tattoo artists, Ana, was amazing and so detail oriented! If you want a real piece of art on your body, Canvass Tattoo is a place to go!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

My boys and I had a great experience with Anna (her line work is amazing as you can see below), Felipe and Pandora (who did my tattoos). The shop is very clean and the staff is very friendly! The boys love their tattoos!As for me, Im absolutely blown away at what Pandora did for me. She enhanced one of my existing tattoos on my right shoulder and created two amazing flowing koi fish on my left shoulder. I will definitely be back and would recommend this shop to anyone!

Wanted a tattoo and I chose an artist. Did the consultation with said artist. She said to text her that day for ideas. I texted her, nothing, I messaged on instagram because she said that was another way of reaching her. It’s been two weeks and I’ve heard not a thing from either text or the artist. I liked the artists stuff and everyone was nice that I met. The place had a cool vibe and everything. I just wanted a tattoo.

Anyi was amazing and did exceptional work. The atmosphere of the whole shop was inviting and fun and everyone had great energy!

Went here to get a cover up done that should have been impossible but my artist Jaider really came through. We put together a design and plan and his execution has been flawless.All the artists are really friendly. Katy has been extremely helpful with the scheduling and is very polite and welcoming.Would definitely recommend.

The administrative team is warm and professional, the studio is always clean, and the skill amongst the artists is unmatched. Whether it’s your first tattoo or your 50th, the experience you’ll have is consistently positive.

I initially received my tattoo a month ago, I wasnt happy once the bandage came off, not really that artist fault. But Nadia was quick to reach out and we set up a touch up today. As usual everyone was very nice and personable. My artist was great to work with again. He provided more detail this time and was very understanding. Customer service at its finest, thank you Team Canvas!!

It’s been ten years since my last tattoo. I scheduled a consultation w/ Maria, after viewing her wk on Instagram.I arrived at my appointment and shared my ideas w/ Maria. She excused herself, and returned w/ several options and sizes of my idea.She ensured that I was completely satisfied w/ the placement, and was patient removing, and replacing the stencil several times.I was pleasantly surprised at such a quick healing, minimal peeling/ itching. In only 7 days my tattoo is completely healed and looks fantastic!!I would definitely recommend Maria, and will return to her in the future!!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Canvas Tattoo! I have gone to many shops over the years, and this was by far the best experience I’ve had. I was easily able to make an appointment via text with a prompt response within 24 hours. The receptionist was extremely thorough and helpful getting us an appointment next day! Ashton did our tattoos where we got a couples piece as well as my dogs paw print. She exceeded my expectations and her work is super clean! I loved that she asked lots of questions and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. 10/10 recommend. Even when our appointment got pushed back a bit, we received a call well in advance and we were given these cute coffee mugs and stickers after our appointment as a token of appreciation!

We came in as three separate walk-ins getting the same tattoo. Canvas Tattoo took us with no issues. The space is super cool, and they did great work! We were also given instructions on how to care for the tattoo through the healing process. I will definitely be coming back for some more work!

Wow!!! 19 years since my last tattoo and OMG Joey was awesome to work with. He helped finalize the design and had several sizes prepared before I arrived. The finished product is still ‘under wraps’; but I am already in love with it!! The shop was immaculate, all safety protocols were followed and I felt at home there.And I’ve been back!! Shaun is one of the ‘newer’ artists at this location; but I was blown away by the work he has done prior and selected him to do my work. Not only am I floored by how the finished piece looks; when others asked for long I sat; etc they are blown away with how fast he did the work. When I get the inspiration for another piece; I will be heading back to Canvas Tattoo for a 3rd time. No question there at all.

Wonderful shop, place was clean and welcoming. I emailed extensively with Canvas prior to my appointment, and felt like my wants were heard and taken into consideration. Noyan took great care in placing my stencil and redid it a few times until I was happy with it. We deviated from my original design but I trust his opinion as a tattoo artist. Tattoo went seamlessly, he was pretty quick too. For a small hand tattoo it took longer to place it than it did to tattoo it! He even gave me some extra second-skin to take home after the one I have on now falls off. Overall I am very happy with the experience and would visit Canvas again. The only mild complaint I have is that they are cash only, and it’s 2023!

This was my first experience with Canvas Tattoing. But not with the Artist Eric Smith (AKA Puff), he has been doing my ink now for over 10 years. Puff does the styles of what I like inked on me, very detailed and professional. There is nothing Puff can’t do, when it comes to ink work.The location of Canvas Tattoing is exactly where it needs to be and it fits in, with that location. The staff is professional, and fun to be around. I sat for a few hours and would walk around and the other artist would let me watch. Absolutely love this place, and Puff is the whole reason I came.

I worked with Mary Jane for my first tattoo in 10 years. I was nervous, and very particular about what I wanted but she worked really well with me to design the perfect tattoo. Mary Jane was amazing throughout the whole process and she is a true artist. I Highly recommend her.The building is clean and smells really good. There is street parking and a small parking lot in the back. Pricing was fair.

My mother and I came to Canvas for matching mother-daughter tattoos. We had a great experience. Our artist was Anyi. She was very patient with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted and where. I get anxiety when making these sort of decisions but I relied on her experience to help create a beautiful piece of art. We got a larkspur and a cosmo tattooed in a bundle. I’ve had previous work done here and this shop definitely has high standards, as all the artists are phenomenal and I’d trust any of them to tattoo my skin.

I have wanted a tattoo for 20 years but could never decide what to actually get....and I HATE needles. My daughter told me about some numbing cream so finally decided to go for it after my 50th birthday. I did all my research on finding the best place in the Charlotte area, read every single review, looked at all the posted artwork, did some social media stalking to look at the work and saw this place is HIGHLY recommended and every artist is fantastic in their work. Reached out to book a consultation with whomever would be available in the near future. Again...nerves and I didnt want to chicken out. :) I was booked with ASHTON. I told her what I was trying to go for and she gave me some great ideas of how she can pull it together. We even talked about the numbing cream and what she suggested from other customers. Even reached out to one with my same fear to get the name brand so I could get the same. She went way beyond necessary but GREATLY appreciated! I booked the appointment to get the work done a few weeks out to give me time to do a little more homework for her suggestions. The day of the appointment she shows me what she came up with. LOVED IT!!! We made a few tweaks and adjustments to get the final piece to make it more and got all the feels on the final draft. Watching her work and think through it was very cool! Watching her actually do the tattoo was even cooler! As you can see from the pictures she is very detailed, even in the smallest parts (the jellyfish is only 2 inches long) to bring what I wanted to life. This tattoo is basically my story. It is myself, my 3 kids and my husband all in one piece. It still makes my heart sing looking at it and I couldnt be happier! Let me just say that Ashton was fantastic to work with. She fun, polite, very artistic and was a great pleasure to work with! Everyone there from the admin to other artists were awesome to talk to. We had a great experience at Canvas! Anna is an incredible artist and we enjoyed conversations with her throughout the process. Shop is a little pricey but worth it for the quality work & service. Would come back for sure!

Popped in on a Friday evening an hour before closing to get 3 dainty finger tattoos. Everyone was very cool. Although my tattoo artist clearly just smoked a blunt, He did a good job.After two weeks, I reached out to schedule a touchup as they are extremely faded, one nearly nonexistent.Was told I need to pay an additional $150.(Just paid $260 two weeks ago for 3 tiny tats)I asked to verify, I have to pay another $150 for small touch up’s? The lady on the phone got very snippy with me. To be fair, I knew touchups weren’t free. I just didn’t know they would cost basically the full price of the tattoo.Would not recommend.

The staff was very polite and helped answer any questions we may have had. The two artists used our picture as a rough draft and created a better tattoo that we expected! We got semi matching tattoos, and they are absolutely stunning. Would recommend for first time experience and custom tattoos!

I went for a walkin yesterday for a small coverup that I have been wanting for a long time. luckily Brad was available between clients. To start, as soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a gorgeous wonderful young lady. I didnt catch her name but she was so sweet and welcoming. After taking with her for a few minutes, I was able to talk to Brad about what I wanted. He listened closely and gave feedback on what I wanted. He was quick with the drawing and the art work is phenomenal. I was able to get it same day. The shop is incredibly clean and organized. It has such a welcoming feeling the entire time you are there. He talked with my husband and I as if we had known each other for years and he has such steady hands. He made sure everything was perfect all the way to the end. My husband and I will ne coming back for more artwork. 20 out of 10. Highly highly recommend!!!

I came to Canvas with a group of friends as walk in clients all looking to get our first tattoos. We were split between Leo and Diego and the experience was amazing! Both artists took the time to consult on what we wanted to get done and delivered designs and results that absolutely blew us away. Since it was my first tattoo I was a bit nervous but the artists eased my nerves and made sure it was a great experience. Beyond the tattooing experience itself, the studio was super clean and organized and they even had free hair ties, feminine hygiene products, and other super helpful supplies in the bathroom. Definitely the best experience we all could’ve asked for and we were so glad we chose Canvas for our first tattoos!

Great experience! I got my first tattoo here with Derrick and he was very comforting when I voiced my nervousness of my tattoo potentially being painful- it was not. He respected my preferences and drew out a great sketch and tattooed a tribute to my parents on my forearm. The front desk staff, Nadia and Katie, were very welcoming and asked us if we wanted any drinks or snacks during our short wait. Thanks Canvas!

Zach Byrd did an awesome job on a tattoo that meant a lot to me. He found a way to fit me in and not make me feel like I was hindering him. The owner is awesome as well and I cant wait to go back for another!

Got a tattoo done today by Maria Fernanda and I am absolutely in love with it! Maria was very professional and sweet during the entire process. At one point during the session, I was feeling light-headed and Maria responded quickly and got me feeling better right away. She put lots of attention into the detail of the piece and I couldnt be happier with how it turned out!

I almost had the piercer change her very accurate and cute positioning of my conch piercing.I decided to go with her initial recommendation and I’m sooo happy with how it looks! The jewelry selection was cute and affordable, and I waited less time here for a walk in then I did at a previous shop for an appointment. Great stuff all around

I went to canvas about 2 weeks ago and got a tattoo by Anyi! She did a cover up and then added onto it and she did an amazing job! When I went in for the consultation she just took in everything that I was saying and just made it happen! Shes so talented and professional as well! Also when it came down to when I got it done I was a but nervous and she was just very nice! Cant wait to go back!

Super clean and talented shop. Can’t go wrong with any of the artists. One thing that I have noticed that I haven’t with other shops is a desire by the owner to develop the business mind of his crew. All in all there is a reason why this place is consistently named one of the best shops in the region.

Jason owns this place and has it poppin! Excellent environment thats laid back and welcoming. Clean, artsy, has something for everyone. In addition to ink there is art, bands, and various interesting events at this venue. Nice place to chill out back and wait or chat outdoors.Mary Jane was my artist. She was able to fit me in on VERY short notice...lucky me. She was then able to transform my vision into a piece of flesh that Ill be forever proud of. Thank you very much. I will definitely tell friends and be back to this spot!

They have two locations right next to each other that is super convenient. One of the locations was able to get a friend and I in that day. We’re traveling and just wanted a spur of the moment tattoo. They were super accommodating and got us in quickly! Pandora was our artist and she was super friendly and professional. Highly recommend checking out this spot!

I had such a great experience getting a tattoo from Anyi Arts! She was absolutely wonderful. It has been over 20 years since my last tattoo, and she made this experience really great. I love my new tattoo, it is breath-taking! I will be definitely going back to get more work done by Anyi!

My very first tattoo and it was dedicated to my grandfather who recently passed. Soldier made the process easy and the results are amazing. The fine lining was perfect. I will definitely come back for touch ups and any future tattoos. Thank you.

My friend and I saw their sign that stated they had walk-in appointments available and decided to stop in. I was able to get in and done in less than 45 minutes! Everyone at the shop was very nice and down to earth. The studio was clean and efficient. The artist who did my tattoo, Shannon, was a guest artist and did a great job. I told him what I wanted and within 5 minutes he had something drawn up. My friend was able to get exactly what she wanted as well and used Derrick as her artist. Both guys were talked to us throughout the process and made us feel very comfortable. The man at the front desk (I didn’t catch his name) was also very accommodating and worked hard to fit us in and get us in and out. I would definitely use them again in the future!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I went for my second tattoo ever, and not only was my artist, Anna, amazing, but all of the employees are so kind, professional, and welcoming! I loved this place so much I’m driving back down for another appointment with them (from 7 hours away). Cannot recommend this place enough. Not to mention, Anna’s fine line tattoo she gave me was EXACTLY what I imagined. The employees also take the time to help you figure out what you want and do such a helpful job when working with you. Thanks for everything!!

Tucker was absolutely fantastic! You can tell he is very passionate and detailed with his work. This was my first tattoo at the age of 70 and I could not have asked for a better experience!

Myself , and 3 others were walk-ins. Visiting from out of town, we were able to get in the next day. Check-in/reference share/upload seemed clunky at first - but the shop had plenty of available artists to accommodate us all. So, ultimately, that clunkiness helped us get the best fit of artist for what we each wanted.Anna was my artist and one other in our party. Anna had great drawings for us to choose from based on our reference pics, she listened and adapted the designs to what we wanted and placement.Additionally, Annas fine line work is INSANE. The precision and detail in even the smallest spots of my tattoo are just gorgeous. I cant wait to visit her chair again. ♥️

My friend and I walked in off the street and were back immediately. Maria quickly whipped up the tattoo and was very kind. Her space was very clean and her music taste was fabulous too! Highly recommend.

Pandora was amazing artist, she cares about the craft and timing. Also she put in work to make sure I was good. Also, cool thing about it she doesn’t speak english. So they had a translator by her side, but when it was ink time. She let her skills do the talking.The receptionist was amazing as well she quoted a ideal price and time. Unbelievable experience! Great hospitality and communication from the whole staff. Noyan did my artwork, it turned out better than I could’ve imagined. His detail, precision, lining, and friendliness made it an easy decision for me and where I got my art. I plan on going back for my next tattoo and seeing Noyan again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!! Derek helped me with a traditional tattoo and I was super pleased with how it came out. He was very professional, made me feel heard about the edits, and helped make the tattoo better than I had envisioned. Ill be back for my next piece for sure.

My tattoo experience was great, the location is really cool, the staff was super sweet and attentive, my artist Anyi was really talented and I highly recommend her for any of your fine line, flower needs. Plus the manager Nadia was easy to talk to and super chill.

Update: You can tell what kind of business Jason B is running by his response….Poor tattoo which is reasonable but horrible customer service is not. I got my fingers tattooed which is known for not holding up well. Not my first hand tattoo. So I knew this going into it and along with signing the waiver saying they do not guarantee the tattoo. Then the tattoo started to fall off...legit fall off. See attached photos. The tattoo was clearly not deep enough. When the manager told me this was completely normal and I had to pay the full price to get it touched up I was offended lol. None of my other hand tattoos did this. Just wanted them to admit it wasnt done right. They couldnt admit to it. Thats why Im here.Picture of the finger tattoos new/one week later/ two weeks later. Back of my hand was done correctly a week before by a different shop/artist and some how its not falling off lol.

This is so far the best experience I have had getting a tattoo. Dakota was helpful with scheduling and going over the process. Leo was a great artist who enhanced the idea I had in mind. Definitely want to go back!
