Charlotte Tattoo Company

I have been faithfully coming to this tattoo shop since they opened up in 2015. I have had the pleasure of being tattooed from Billy, Scott, Hugo, Jason & Nadine. They have all been great and wonderful to work with. From the many designs I want , all of them have been creative in a way to make the designs one of a kind & add a bit of their flare to it. This is located off Central Ave. In Plaza Mid wood. Parking now can definitely be hectic since they have added a 2 hr limit on all parking in that area from the parking lot beside the location to the side street parking. Thankfully, when I went, the tattoo session did not take more than 2 hrs, so I didnt have any big issues. Either way, it can definitely get super packed and congested. Make sure to alot time for parking. The shop itself is always very clean, and the employees are always super welcoming and friendly the moment you walk in. You can send them an email or text them directly to schedule an appointment. Every artist here is super wonderful to work with, and I highly recommend them. This is the only shop I come to whenever I want to get a tattoo.

My girls & I made an appointment for a 40th birthday. We came in from out of town & sent our ideas in ahead of time. Jason was already prepared for us and spoke in detail on sizing, etc, to ensure our tattoos look amazing for years. He was so friendly, knowledgeable & personable. His work is amazing & well definitely be back for our next one!

Love my cartoon tattoo I got done here!Yes I was here, I must admit I have been searching all over to find you all again . This tattoo is about 4 years old. I only remember because I went through my Google account to find you, also took a picture near the establishment. Says I visited here 4 years ago. I dont remember the guys name only that he specialized in cartoon images. I need to find him would like more work done

My best friend and I were in town for a concert, and we have been talking about getting matching tattoos for years now. Arianna was an amazing artist, she took the time to listen to our story and make sure our tattoos matched. The shop overall was clean and organized, the staff were so nice and friendly.

Drove a total of 6 hours from Charleston to get tattooed by Mickey Putts at Charlotte tattoo co and it was totally worth it. Mickey is an incredible artist and just an all around good dude. He’s friendly, will work with you on your design every step of the way, offer suggestions and solutions to get you the best tattoo possible. He’s also very fast and not heavy handed. Mickey was able to give me what would normally be a 5 hour tattoo by anyone else in just 3 hours. Pain was minimal and reflects his knowledge and abilities as a top tier tattooer. I will absolutely be going to him to get my other shin done and can’t wait. Thanks again Mickey for the great tattoo and positive experience 👍🏻👍🏻

Victoria did a wonderful job on my first tattoo. 🥰💜 I cant wait until it heals. The tattoo felt like a cats paw on my arm. It didnt hurt.

It has been way too long since I got a little ink therapy and today was the perfect day. As always Billy was amazing in his work and had great conversation. As long as he is doing tattoos in the Charlotte area I will not go to another artist. His whole team is great and cant wait to return.

I had a wonderful experience at this shop for my first ever tattoo! The shop has a super relaxed and welcoming vibe. My artist was Victoria and she was incredible! Super creative, laid back, and kind. I came in with two friends to get a set of small semi-matching tattoos, and each one took her less than ten minutes! My ink is beautiful and healed perfectly under saniderm with no issues (seriously, not even itching!) and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend!!

Drove up from Columbia to get tattooed here twice so far and Jason took a picture I sent him of a photo realistic Saint Michael and literally put the exact picture on my arm all in one session. I wanted a basic cloud background to fill in the gap between the bottom of that tattoo and the other half of my sleeve but he said he thought a dove could fill that spot pretty well and I let him run with it and it came out absolutely perfect. He was able to take the top of my existing tattoo and make it flow perfectly from my shoulder to my wrist. Roughly 6 hours for the first session and 3 for the second and we didn’t run out of stuff to talk about. Truly an artist that will take exactly what you want and then know exactly what to add when you need some inspiration. I will definitely be back to finish out the inside of my bicep with him!Update: a year later and Jason has done it again, the result vs the inspiration is absolutely amazingUpdate 2: Jason continues to absolutely kill the game. Asked him to rework my praying hands on the back of my forearm to really tie everything together and he went above and beyond what I could’ve hoped for.

I’ve gotten a couple tattoos here and I will say that they are amazing! The artists are all super nice, their designs are great, and the environment is clean and inviting. Every tattoo I’ve received from here have been full of contrast and have healed excellently. I recently attended the Friday the 13th event here (mind you I arrived quite early), and I find that the wait was 100% worth it. If you plan on going to any of their event days, make sure to arrive early, stay hydrated, and keep your options open. Shoutout to all the staff working throughout the week and during events! Absolutely recommend!!

I saw Victoria for my first time at this shop and she was phenomenal. She was everything you would want from a tattoo artist. She responded very well, didnt make me feel bad for asking questions or being nervous, and she has exquisite work. I walked in with a tattoo that I didnt want people to notice to a tattoo I want everyone to see. Went above my expectations. The atmosphere was chill and I loved how it was decorated. Just be prepared to find some parking ahead of time. Highly recommend this place!

I was tattooed by Anna (@hoodlum_tattoo) about a month ago and it was one of the best tattoo experiences I’ve had. She took the time to make sure she understood my vision and was willing to provide her own creative input where I needed it. She was so patient, even drawing up a new design aspect the day of, and made me feel so comfortable. Her work had healed beautifully and it meshes so well with my other tattoos. I cannot recommend her enough.

I have gotten two tattoos from Victoria now and she great. She makes you feel so comfortable and does great work! Highly recommend seeing her! Love the shop too. Very cool and clean.

If you’re going to get your first tattoo come here. All I can say is WOW! Jason did a PHENOMENAL job on my first tattoo. He was super chill and is definitely very good at what he does. I definitely will be coming back here for my next tattoo

Absolutely great! My first tattoo is from Victoria and she only spent 7 mins on it. I had gone in with a friend and from the time Victoria started inking her to the time she finished me, it took less that 30 mind. She can finish really fast on a simple tattoo and/or tell you upfront that your vision of your tattoo will need to be scheduled for later as she wants to prep beforehand and make sure it is 110% perfect.

I recommend Billy Harris 1000/10!!! He is so nice, very clean, and does beautiful work. I can’t wait to get more tattoos by him!!!

Talented artist and super friendly front desk staff! Their Friday the 13th events are so well organized!, Ive gone on 2 different occasions and really appreciate how smoothly they run this event. The line moves quickly & theres plenty of places to eat nearby while you wait for your artists availability. Quality tattoo work and reasonably priced

Just had a fantastic session with Jason Tucker, but I’m sure all of the artists are great and will definitely be back. The shop is welcoming and clean, and everything went super smoothly for my session. Parking is around the corner for a small lot or street parking if you can find it. I’m beyond happy with both my piece and the experience!

I went for the Friday the 13th flash tattoo event. It was my first time attending. They truly have the system down to a science! They had sodas and snacks for people waiting, too. Very nice folks.

Solid experience with Jason tucker. For my first tattoo I had an amazing experience. I loved his work, and just talking to the guy made the experience all the better. Definitely would book another appointment with him in the future. Awesome dude.

Solid crew! My favorite place to get tatted. Billy runs a tight ship, has hired an amazing team that always make you feel right at home, and Hugo is the GOAT. Ive been getting tattooed by Hugo for nearly 10 years now and he never fails to always bust out amazing work. Before I met Hugo I struggled to find an artist that had the style I was looking for. When I saw his previous work I knew this was who I wanted to do my tats for life. Arguably one of the best shops in this entire state. So good, that I drive a 3 hour round trip to come here. If youre thinking about coming here, stop thinking about it and just do it!

10/10 wouldn’t recommend for a Friday the 13th tattoo. They let people wait in line for over an hour after writing numbers on our hands just to tell us the sheet was full. They could’ve announced that to the line to see if people wanted to wait on standby or leave.

I have only had work done by Mickey at this location. So I can only go off by my experience with him and the front receptionist.Professional all the way around. Mickey is super talented in the traditional tattoo aesthetic and his choice of vibrant colors is almost a signature thing for him(so it seems) he is super sweet, well mannered, and seems to be able to talk about any subject. The receptionist is very nice , not once have I felt like she is annoyed at customers. Very laid back.Both have excellent communication through out the process from booking to design .10/10 recommend

Anna has done 2 of my tattoos now and I cannot recommend her enough! She is so patient and kind. She makes sure you are going to love every part of your experience and answers all questions I may have. I will definitely continue going to her and Charlotte Tattoo in the future!

Had an appointment for my first tattoo with Billy a few days ago. I was a little nervous but so excited once I could see my design come to life. Billy was awesome with calming my nerves and making me feel at home! I will absolutely be making another appointment in the future! I cannot say enough great things about this place!

Had a tattoo appointment on June 10th for my birthday was scheduled with Cam to do a sunflower tattoo for me, He did an outstanding job. Thank you cam.

It had been over a decade since my last tattoo, and the industry has changed a lot since then, so I didnt know what to expect. But even with the place being super busy for Friday the 13th, they were super welcoming and respectful, and Mickey was super efficient and did excellent work. Im going to have to have a little spot touched up (thats 100% my own fault for using a product that gave me a reaction) but they said theyd be happy to get me in for that too. Ill absolutely be back.

Got tattooed by Jason. What a great experience! Dude does outstanding black and grey! The shop is really cool and everyone there was really friendly. The atmosphere was fun and the tattoo is awesome, so I’ll definitely be back!

Came for a consultation w cam and was brushed off in about 3 minutes tops. I had several questions as I wanted to understand the design process and was excited to talk but he just left in the middle of the conversation and said to book an appointment for the tattoo. no information given going into the consult and got none leaving. he did not care to introduce himself, get to know our names, our experience with tattoos, if we had any questions, how to contact regarding the design; basic welcoming things anywhere especially with something as intimate and intimidating as a tattoo for many. the environment did not feel comforting to me especially as someone who was nervous yet excited about getting the tattoo and booking something. he also did not seem particularly interested from the second we spoke. with something this expensive and permanent, comfortability and familiarity are important going in so I have decided to not look at this shop anymore.

Came in for my second tattoo, first time at the shop and was definitely not disappointed. I was a walk-in after a long day of work and wasnt sure what to expect, but I was welcomed as soon as I walked in and had an overall really chill experience - just what I needed! I had brought my own design, but Hugo really breathed life into it and it turned out beautifully. He is not only super professional and very skilled, but hes also just a super warm personality, so we had some great conversation which really made the experience for me. I have already been recommending this place to my friends, and will definitely be back in the future!

This is my second tattoo I have gotten and I was very specific on getting a fine lined tattoo and I’m so glad I came here! Maren helped my dream tattoo become a reality and designed this beautiful piece. I only wish I had received the design prior to arriving at the shop, but she was super open to the small modifications I requested. They really want you to be sure and have no doubts about size/placement and give you plenty of time to decide. The shop itself is easy to get to and a nice environment. They’re also very strict about COVID guidelines, so I felt very safe. Keep this in mind if it’s your first tattoo and you want someone there with you as they don’t allow guests other than who is getting tattooed. Like a typical shop they also only accept cash, but there are nearby ATMs within walking distance. I will definitely be coming back and suggesting this shop!

I have mixed opinions here. I went to Cam three times and I was very happy the first couple times. I wanted very simple pieces that were pretty basic and I was very satisfied with the results. The 3rd time I wanted more of an artistic piece and I sent a reference thinking he’d put his own artistic touch on it and I was wrong. When I saw the image at all it really wasn’t anything like my reference photo. It was the same subject but completely different style. We tweaked it a bit and even then I didn’t know how I feel about it and decided to trust Cam and go with it. After the appointment it just felt off to me so I was searching google images of similar tattoos to try and get an idea about why it felt off and what I could add to fix it. In this process I stumbled the exact image he used for me. I was expecting him to take the reference photo and make it his own but he ended up taking the first picture he found online without adding anything (this was the worst picture I came across too). This rubbed me the wrong way and it just felt very lazy to me z as me gave me the impression that he really didn’t care. My first two visits with Cam were good but due to my last visit I switched shops. Im now going to an artist I can trust and will put forth a good effort regardless if it’s something he has interest in tattooing or not.

My mom and I came in for our first tattoos today. Mickey Putillo did them for us and we are in love. All employees were so nice and kept us informed. Super professional and super clean. We will definitely be back for all our other tattoo and piercing needs.

Great place to get a tattoo for sure! Jason did not disappoint, I had an idea and let him do his thing and it came out ever better that what was in my head. Also a very clean and friendly environment!

One of my favorite tattoo shops! Got a tattoo behind my ear by Cameron, it turned out perfect. The tattoo healed great and the lines were good. Im going back tomorrow to get another tattoo done by Cameron. The shop is beautiful with a welcoming atmosphere.

Billy Harris has done 3 pieces of mine over the last decade or so. High quality and attention to detail. The shop has many other talented artists with a variety of skills- definitely recommend this shop. Clean and professional with tons of experience and skill/ talent between them!

While back, I contacted Anna. I wanted 2 hearts with paw prints in the hearts and a crown around both hearts. She never sent me drawings like she said so I could review it to make sure its what I wanted. I get there, and she has something printed out. When I take the time to see it, there were things I wanted changed, and she acted like I was wasting my time. I should have left then. But I chickened out and let her put a tattoo with a crown that was designed in a different way than the rest of the tattoo. I was able to get the crown fixed by Thomas at Divine Arts Tattoo as well as get beautiful colors in the hearts. I now love the tattoo. When I contacted Anna. She asked why i would want to get it covered up. After working with Thomas, I was able to agree not to get it covered up, but enhanced and made more beautiful than I have ever could have imagined.That was my experience.

Went in yesterday to have some added to a simple bird on my back. Justin did such an amazing job, I let him design the whole thing with a little guidance from what i wanted. I would recommend going 100%. Staff was so nice and helpful and put up with us the entire day. I will never go anywhere else for a tattoo!

Alex did my first tattoo down my spine and did such a great job. He was very professional and the tattoo looks perfect. There was no problems during the healing process and it actually healed quickly. Highly recommendable!

I got a few tattoos from Charlotte Tattoo Co. and each time I go there it’s like hanging out with friends. It’s a very comfortable setting and the pricing is very reasonable. I go to Billy every time but the shop if full of capable and extremely talented artists so you can’t really lose with any of them.

I went in on the 31st to get two piercings and Lauren was absolutely amazing ! She was professional and considering that I had just left work and was a walk in she made me feel comfortable and helped me feel like I was a close girlfriend. I am definitely calling this place home for piercings and hopefully tattoos ! Thanks again ❤️

Nice staff, walk-ins only, no appointment needed. I had my first tattoo there and i have no complains about it, i love the tattoo and i wish Lucy would still work there. I think thats her name and she was who worked on me in 2015.

Hands down my favorite tattoo spot in the Charlotte area. Lizzy has done one of my tattoos as well as my boyfriend first tattoo. She is VERY TALENTED, she makes you feel comfortable -which I felt was important when getting your first tattoo, the place is well kept and clean. Lizzy and the rest of the guys are fabulous and nice. DEFINITELY will be going back for my next one :)

Hugo is a very nice tattoo artist, and he does great work! But the manager of the store was very rude. She talked about clients when they left the shop even with me in the room (a client). Plus when I walked in I told her what I had in mind, she told me I needed a picture to show the artist. She wouldn’t pair me with an artist and let them free draw. Her attitude was disgusting. I wouldn’t come here again. But if Hugo moves to a different shop I would follow, this is just not a place you should support.

Billy did an awesome job helping through this process. He was kind and took his time making sure that my tatoo was to my loving (not liking). He has great customer service and is very easy going. He is so professional and you will not be disappointed.

I could not recommend this place highly enough! I’ve worked with Mickey, Anna, and Hugo numerous times and now they’re like family. Professional, clean, and on time. I have never had such a positive tattoo experience in my life. If you’re in the area, you should absolutely come to this shop!

I went on Friday the 13th and it was absolutely SLAMMED but the staff were amazing and professional even with a couple hundred impatient clients packed in the waiting area like sardines. I cant remember the womans name who was at the counter signing people up and calling them out (thats on me, my memory is bad and it was hectic) but she was doing a great job and working at what looked like 200% to keep everything moving smoothly, my artist was awesome and did a great job with my flash, even though I was probably like the 40th person he had tattooed that day. Thanks again Scott! Ive been to this shop twice now and cant wait to go back again.

I came here since COVID-19 has been present and they are extremely thorough with keeping everyone safe.Hugo was my artist and he was incredible, I got exactly what I wanted how I wanted. He was so gentle im pretty sure I took a few naps. I will definitely come here again and cant believe how lucky I was to get art from such a wonderful artist/ environment.

Worked with Bryan on a cover up, he did a really great job at every point in the process. An amazing artist, Ive had people complimenting the lines and colors ever since I got it. I can pretty confidently say that my expectations were exceeded.

This place is the only place you should be getting tattooed in CLT. I have a very large piece i got done there by Billy, the owner. He did an amazing job, told me what to expect from the pain, to the healing. He accomidated me on my design and was able to draw me something that i love that was within my price range. All these artists are amazingly talented, and I am so happy i found a good shop.

10/10 would recommend getting a tattoo here. I got my first tattoo by Hugo. And he did a great job! He made sure i was good the whole time. Will definitely be going back to get another tattoo here!

This is the place if you want your ink to tell a story. I’ve known Billy one of the artist there for years! Hadn’t gotten but one but had seen his work on a lot of people that I hung out with. My daughter passed away and she loved butterflies. He covered my old tattoo with butterflies and you can not tell it was something there before my beautiful butterflies. Overpriced for a piercing and the piercing earcare solution stopped working days after purchasing. Very unprofessional and rude when approached about malfunctioning product. Too many places to get your ears pierced without the hassle, 2/10 wouldn’t recommend.

I got my first tattoo by Billy when I was 18 and since then Ive gotten four more by him. I highly recommend going to him or any one of his guys. They do excellent work an extremely friendly.

I have tried to schedule with 2 people from this business!! One didnt respond and gave the time away we agreed on and the other didnt know how to do what i wanted so wasted my time and took a deposit from me and we were soo clear on what was to be done for him to tell me he cant and wasnt comfortable. If you dont know how to tat then why be here. So unprofessional!!! I would not recommend this place. i have 14 tats and never had this problem before

Very rude employees. Respond to Facebook messages with generic letter. My son can’t even set his feet with shoes on the floor. Then should my feet be on the floor? How unsanitary must it be for you not to put feet with shoes on the floor. Was kicked out for bringing my child for just a consultation at 3 on a Thursday not busy at all. Horrible.

Scott is awsome, very detailed work, he absolutely fixed my tattoo in which another place had botched up. I will be coming back.
