Michael Quinn was amazing, my daughter and I wanted a spontaneous tattoo on our vacation and he got us in last min. He did great work and the price was awesome! Very professional, clean shop and great customer service. I recommend for sure!

Me and my mother wanted to get a matching tattoo on a Saturday and weren’t sure if we were gonna be able to get into a place as a walk in. But when we called Mike he said that he could fit us in later that night. He was super nice and stayed an hour late for us to squeeze us in. He did me and mom’s tattoos very efficiently and we very happy with the finished product. The price was also very good and not overpriced. Will definitely come back for some bigger tattoos in the future!

Was in town for my birthday and wanted to get a tattoo to cover up a 29 year old tattoo on my wrist. I didnt have to wait. Mike told me what time he was available and a sista was there. I love my new tattoo. We shared some hellafied convo. Im not done getting tatted but most definitely will come back, when in the Charlotte area.

Absolute great experience. Mike did my work and it was nothing but perfection. He put my vision to ink and was spot on. Very relaxed and personable. They take great pride in their work. There was one small detail that needed a touchup and I was able to come right back the next day for 5 min and, boom, done. Several other places wanted to charge by hour and all estimated around 3hrs. Mike gave me one set price and the entire day to get it done right. Not to mention this was a cover up and he got it done right. All my future work will be done by Uptown Arts. Thanks gents.

It was easy to walk in and set up an appointment with Mike. On the day of the session, ran some thoughts with him but I ended up liking one of his prior works and went for a variation of it. With so many years of experience its definitely wise to hear his ideas. He drew up a canvas on my calf in no time and I knew I could trust him. We struck up a conversation and Mike has some really interesting points of view. I didnt realize how 3 hrs went by. He kept me distracted all along with his topics and at the end of it all, I was so happy with the end product. What an artist!Im definitely going back for my next one...

I was in Charlotte for a wedding and decided to Google some tattoo shops near my hotel. Ive been wanting a specific piece of art for a while but hadnt found the right artist to do it. Luckily, my hotel was directly next door to Mike at Uptown Arts and he was able to get me in very last minute. Mike is very professional and came up with the perfect design for my latest. Loved the experience and when I find myself in Charlotte again, Ill definitely be visiting the shop. Five stars on the quality of work, location, cleanliness, and company.

I cannot recommend Uptown Arts enough! Michael is smart, interesting, kind and above all TALENTED! I absolutely love my tattoo and wouldnt think twice about going back to him for any other pieces I want to get. Hes the best! And, as a side note, his colleagues are great as well! I was there for a 10 hour session and got to see their work too. There are some great artists at Uptown Arts!

I normally plan things last minute, it’s either now or never type deal. I was referred to Mike by several people of whom had several pieces of work done by him. So, I shot him a text to see if he could get me in and I had an appointment a few days later. He was very responsive and attentive to replying to my messages.This is a very cool, clean and professional environment with talented artists. Mike is very honest and gave some recommendations with adding shading and I told him go for it... I barely knew the guy but completely trusted him.I get so many compliments on my tattoo.. the detail in the lines are exquisite. The shading is on point.I will definitely be going back.I Highly recommend Uptown Arts.

Came to Charlotte to see a concert with a buddy of mine and we decided to get tattoos while we are here. Decided to go for Uptown Arts and the owner Mike did such a great job and did it at such a good price as well. Really enjoyed the conversations that we had and will definitely come back again if Im ever in the Charlotte area!

I highly recommend Uptown Arts. I’ve been to few other studios in the Charlotte area and this place is by far the cleanest and most professional place I’ve been too. Michael, the owner is a true master of the art of tattooing. He did a great job of touching up an older piece and bringing it back to life. They are also very responsive in returning phone calls unlike most of the other shops in the Charlotte area who could care less about responding to their clients and have an attitude like they are doing you a favor when they do. Im so glad I was turned onto this place and look forward to working with Michael on my sleeve journey!

Finally a place with friendly AND talented artists. Strangely enough its hard to find both. Other than being a bit difficult to find, this is one of the best studios Ive been to so far. Im always nervous before getting a new tattoo, and it really helps when the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Even though I wasnt technically a walk in, I made my appointment on the same day that I went. I only gave my artist two hours prepare, and by the time I got there he had my tattoo all sketched out for me. My artist was Steve and he did an excellent job. He only charged me $80 for a piece that in my opinion was worth far more. My tattoo hasnt completely healed, so Im not sure what the finished product will look like, but I have confidence that itll come out great. I really appreciate the work that Steve did, and the genuine kindness that I was received with. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending other people to the shop.

Mike the owner of the shop did a great job.. A true artist he made me feel comfortable through the whole process and even stayed after closing to get me in.. Very friendly and we had a great conversation..the addition to my first tattoo came out great! Also went in with two other friends of mine whose tattoos were done by Phil. He did exceptional work as well and had us laughing the whole time. Would definitely reccomend this place if your ever in the Charlotte area. The atmosphere was awesome!

Going in for my first tattoo, I was pretty nervous about both the pain and needles... something that has held me back from getting a tattoo for quite a while. But let me say this, Mike was everything I could have hoped for and more. He immediately created a relaxed environment, kept great conversation, and was so gentle and clean with his work. Absolutely would recommend to a friend and my girlfriend who came with me and got her first tattoo at another shop now wants to come to Mike for her next. Brian Lee is an amazing tattoo artist. I was visiting the area and wanted something very small to honor my father who recently passed away. He was professional and his work exceeded my expectations. I’m so glad he was able to work me in. This was not my first tattoo but I would most definitely travel from Raleigh to come back for additional work. I went to him based on reviews and I’m so glad I did.

Stopped by Uptown Arts on a trip to Charlotte on 04/07/2016. (I live in South Carolina.) Was getting my first and only tattoo and the guys there were awesome. Went with a close friend who is mostly covered in tattoos.Shop was clean and organized, and all three of the artist looked like they lived the tattoo lifestyle.Scott was awesome and was very light handed. Obviously I have nothing to compare this to, but the friend I went with said he was the gentlest artist she had ever been to.I’ll be going here for touch ups in the future (or the small chance I decide to get any more tattoos. I highly recommend this place to anyone in or around Charlotte!

Found my tattoo home in Charlotte! Mike did an absolutely amazing job at turning my disconnected passions into a coherent design that represents exactly what I wanted to convey. The artwork is beyond words. In fact, I framed the transfer paper. The ink is even better! Such talent. Furthermore, he treats you like a friend, your vision becomes his vision. He is flexible and develops a relationship with you instead of treating you as a number on his bottom line.

I had a great experience at this studio! It was nice and clean on the inside and Brian and Michael were very friendly. My tattoo by Brian came out beautiful! 10/10 will be returning.

Love this place! I gave Mike an idea of what I wanted, and let him do the rest. He was able to hook me up with this beautiful peacock! Not only are Mike and Brian both amazing artists, they’re super cool guys, the environment is fantastic, and Mike was more than capable of dealing with me whining when he was working on some really tough areas.

Uptown Arts is in really cool area with a really cool studio! Mike is a master of his craft and could probably implement a 5* tattoo in his sleep. He is very personable and honest and wouldnt steer you in a bad direction. I recommend Uptown Arts 10x over again. Top notch environment with a genius behind the tattoo gun!

Uptown arts is everything you would picture of a tattoo studio back in the 60s, but with a super clean atmosphere, and great artists! Scott did a phenomenal job on my back piece, and I got to see both Mike and Phil working while I was there, and their work is equally as good! I will certainly keep coming back!

From initial inquiry to the actual tattoo session, exceptional experience. Its a no-brainer for me to recommend Uptown arts to others and to keep going back for future tattoo ideas. Michael was my tattoo artist and is aweome. Answered my email inquiry and set up times for me to come in a discuss my tattoo ideas and scheduled appointments. He was understanding when I had to reschedule too. Hes completely transparent which I think is pretty damn important when youre getting something permanently inked on your body. He isnt afraid to joke around so thats a plus. He suggested my tattoo redesign, size and placement to ensure the best quality. The other tattoo artist were friendly and were cracking jokes; like the comraderie. Im completely happy with my tattoo and look forward to getting more tattoos at Uptown Arts. Highly recommended so go see them!

I got my first tattoo here after being a complete newbie to the whole process. I knew what I wanted, but nothing else, was completely ignorant about the way its done and the aftercare. UA makes you feel comfortable from the moment you set foot in the shop and even after you leave. Phil was my artist and he worked with me as much as he possibly could. He did a great job and touched it up afterwards for free to make the job complete. He answered all of my concerns immediately and was extremely kind and patient. If youre in the Charlotte area and wanting a tattoo, you better be going to Phil at Uptown Arts!

I had a great experience here, all around. The atmosphere was awesome, everyone was friendly, and the shop was clean and organized. Mike was very meticulous and thorough, even though my tats were small. He even touched up the tat I was adding onto.

I was trying to get tatted for my bday it wasnt looking good until I called into uptown arts it was one day that Mike could give me a tattoo which was the next day. Luckily I was off of work so I was able to come in that day. I drew out what I wanted on my chest and he suggested to draw it out so it wont look flat which was a great idea he modified the drawing to fit on my pec it came out exactly how I imagined it and since I was looking for it to connect to start a sleeve he added in the features to start the sleeve so it will look realistic . Its a clean shop and Mike is very professional and hell talk to you during the process to make it easy for you very friendly guy and makes it easy to do busy again with him again I will be returning ! 5stars

Overcharged, and when my tattoo healed, there were places where he literally didnt connect basic lines. My tattoo healed horribly, and Im no newbie to getting ink. This is my 10th tattoo and by far my worst. Every appointment I made, they would reschedule, and it took forever. Would not recommend. Also IMPOSSIBLE to find this place.
