I’ve had 3 tattoos done by pandora and each experience has been top tier! She has brought each one of my ideas to perfection and made the experiences so chill and comforting. Her energy is so contagious and I definitely found the artist who’s going to do all my tattoos. If you’re considering getting work done I would definitely recommend her or any of the artists at copper coin!

I got tattooed by destiny today and she is so amazing and lovely! She tattooed my kneecap which was very sensitive. She honored my body by giving me breaks and checking in frequently. I had an outstanding experience at Copper Coin Tattoo.First - I feel so lucky to have gotten to work with my artist (Destiny). She created a piece of art that far exceeded my expectations. She designed a piece to work with the styles of my other tattoos, but also put her stamp on it.The shop itself is quite impressive. Such attention to detail.My final thoughts are on the rest of the artists. They all wanted to see progress of the piece, but were SUPER respectful about it. Every one of them aske May I see it? when they walked up. I wasnt on display, and it was clear that my consent to have my body viewed mattered to them (and my tattoo was just on my outer forearm!).I cannot recommend Destiny enough. I also highly recommend Copper Coin Tattoo.

I got a flash design from Destiny and she was great in working with me on the placement, and I’m SO happy with how my tattoo turned out. She also set me up with aftercare information and the tattoo has perfectly healed. She was awesome! I’ll be coming back for more!

She listens to what I want and contributes her opinions to provide me the best tattoos. Looks great! We stopped by to get some stuff done and got there at open and hung out for 20 minutes later. Found out later they were closed (on IG) for a wedding of an artist! Next time we’re in GR we will try to stop by again such a cool set up!

I received my first tattoo from Patrick a couple months back. 2 sessions total and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. My husband purchased me a tattoo for Christmas, which was my 2nd experience at this parlor. Not only did Mike pitch in to help cover the gift card cost as his gift to us, but I gave him a vague description of what I wanted, and he nailed it. He took my very bad description and created the perfect piece, was extremely professional & welcoming, and did a phenomenal job. Pat, the owner, was there as well, and was incredibly friendly. My 1st experience there was just as wonderful. 10/10 would recommend. I’ll never go anywhere else.

Mark Fettig has inked some of the most phenomenal tattoos Ive ever seen, and I am proud to own 4 of them. The parlours atmosphere is second to none, with a clean & comfortable environment that you cant find anywhere else.

I’m almost at my one year mark on my first tattoo. I’m so glad I chose Copper Coin! I had followed one of the artists there on Instagram for a while (Electric_tattoos) and when I saw he moved there I’d decided to go in. From the initial consultation to the final product I was wholly impressed. I didn’t know what to expect walking in but I know I won’t go anywhere else now. Besides that what other tattoo shop around GR is setup like a speak easy?

This shop is full of the most professional and mindblowing artists Ive come across throughout my life. Mark Fettig is absolutely phenomenal and his work is unlike anyone elses, and while I was in the shop for his work, I looked through portfolios of the other artists in the shop and can say that each and every artist provides amazing art with uncontested quality in their own ways. While getting my tattoo, Mark was kind and responsive to my questions when I had them and made for a very comfortable experience. Provided more opportunities, Id go back in a heartbeat to get work done by more artists at this shop knowing that any loose idea could be given and the art they conjure up would be something Id love. When asking specifics, its essential to recognize that the people that have been working in this field for many years know infinite amounts more about tattoos than the person receiving one. Id trust this shop and any artist here even if I had no real ideas or a very loose one to provide something amazing, and if youre looking for your 1st tattoo or your 100th, this shop is one to trust.

Patrick was amazing to work with! He came up with incredible designs after our consultation that blew me away. I had two different styles that I wanted to go for - some clean minimalist designs on my forearms, and a sketched design of a barn owl on my bicep. Patrick added his own style in both, including a bit of realism on the owl. I am beyond thrilled with how they turned out. The tattoo parlor itself is incredible, and you can tell they put a ton of thought and hard work in the experience. I cant wait to go back for more pieces in the future!!

The shop looks absolutely beautiful, not an aesthetic I would normally be into but it looks amazing and is very clean. I’ve worked with Patrick for a few years and he’s never disappointed when taking my ideas and including his own to make great pieces of art. I haven’t worked with any of the other artists but have interacted with them on a few occasions and they have provided good input on some of my in progress tattoos as well as have been pleasant to talk to. I am currently in the process of getting a full sleeve at Copper Coin and the experience has been great. The shop is not only extremely clean, but it has an awesome vibe and the culture there is very welcoming and laid back. I have gone to Patrick now for a half sleeve and full sleeve and can’t say enough good things about him. His tattoos are fantastic and he does an amazing job working with you to capture what you are wanting in your tattoo. Ive been getting tattooed by Mark now for over 4 years and I have complete trust in his abilities and artistry. Not only is he a fantastic artist, he lays down ink with flawless precision. Ive never had ink fade or flake off during the healing process. My tattoos from the beginning of my sleeves look just as crisp and clean as my new work. Mark is not just a tattooist, he is a true artist who can mold a vision and create a work of art on your skin. Weekly I receive compliments on my sleeves and couldnt be happier with how they turned out. The Copper Coin shop itself is an extension of his artistry, it turned out amazing. Patrick is absolutely the best! I started with a piece on my left shoulder and loved it so much that I decided to continue across my chest and now onto my right shoulder. Patrick VanSandlyne is the most talented artist I’ve ever worked with. He is so caring and considerate when we worked through the art together which depicted a very personal memorial piece for me. He has an excellent vibe. Very zen. Very skilled. A true artist. The tulip/daffodil combo was the original piece that he was able to re-line and added the dogwood branch free-handed. I love everything about this piece and I can’t wait to go back for more. 10/10 would recommend!

Visited from Boston and LOVE LOVE LOVED IT. My brother & sister-in-law get tattooed here and love the shop so I got a small tattoo there too. A cute little line tattoo, but the experience was great. All of the artists were so friendly and nice, it makes me want to save all my tattoos for my Michigan visits :)

Justus was a 10 out of 10 from start to finish. I gave him my idea for a chickadee and Lilly tattoo and he nailed it. The whole experience was amazing. He made me feel comfortable the entire appointment. The parlour was so clean and the decor was so calming and just super cool. I will for sure be back for more! This place is amazing! From the cool speakeasy entrance to the laid back yet sophisticated interior design. My artist, Justus, did an amazing job - clean bold outlines and wicked creative Neo Trad design! Though I’ve not worked with their other artists they were way supportive of each other which adds a level of comfort when you’re sitting for long tattoos :) Check them out. You will not be disappointed!

First and foremost, Copper Coin is hands down the most professional tattoo shop around. The team that has been assembled at Copper Coin is in the top of its class. I have had the pleasure of being tattooed by one of the owners Patrick VanSandlyne and to say his tattoos are flawless would be doing him an injustice. He is a brilliant artist, he has to be a direct cross between Picasso and VanGogh. Every piece I have had done has turned out breathtaking. Got my first big tattoo and was hesitant on what to get. My tattoo artist Patrick suggested an octopus with Chinese finger waves around it. I agreed and boy I’m extremely stoked on how it’s turning out. Patrick is extremely detailed on his work and it shows. Couldn’t be more proud of this tattoo. Can’t wait to see it finished. Aesthetically pleasing and modern rustic interior design with top quality care and customer service. Artists walk you through all of the steps of tattoo process while being kind and enthusiastic to your wants and needs. Whether the tattoo is complex or simple they do it all. I got a pair of butterflies on my neck and working with the artist to achieve what I wanted it to look like was very easy. I highly recommend this place for your future tattoos and piercings.

Called for a face tattoo of a name, and stated I was open to any artist that would do it. Then I came in and I confirmed again what I wanted. She stated she was going to the back to grab her tablet. When she came back her demeanor had changed, and asked me who was the name of the tattoo I was getting. I happily responded that it was my boyfriend, then she turned to him to ask if he was also getting a tattoo since I was getting one. Assuming he either didnt have my name already on him and directing the conversation towards him in a very prejudice, racist, and rude way. I am the one getting the tattoo so why are you asking someone else what they are getting. She gave off the impression that he was forcing me to get something that wasnt my idea on the first place. Saying that she only does names if it is a couples decision. It is my face why does someone else have to do something for me to get my tattoo? Overall very irritated and feel it would have been a completely different conversation if I didnt bring my man with me and just went by myself. She hardly even talked to me and it was my consultation! Then was surroundedby all off the staff felt like we were being ganged up on. Dont give this place your business, highly unprofessional and gave a very racist and prejudice atmosphere.

I was the first client to go through the doors when the business opened and I HIGHLY recommend this place for any future tattoos! Patrick is the best and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking at their first tattoo or a cover up tattoo as he does amazing work! I would not go to anyone else or anywhere else.

I have worked with many tattoo artists over the years. Mark Fettig is clearly one of the bests artists in Michigan, and great to work with. I asked Mark for a mixed style tattoo sleeve that exceeded anything I had imagined!The shop itself has an atmosphere unlike any tattoo parlor. Its an experience in itself.I cannot recommend this place enough. I personally wont be going anywhere else!

I’ve had Patrick at Copper Coin do two different pieces. Definitely the best tattoo parlor in Grand Rapids. From custom pieces to creative design, Copper Coin will exceed your expectations. Never going to another shop. Plus, you at least need to check out the interior. That place is dope inside. A lot of thought went into that place. And it shows.

I got a tattoo done here a few months ago by Hailey. I gave her an idea of something I wanted done but gave her some artistic license with it and I’m so happy with it. Literally one of the most cool and welcoming spaces and I felt so respected and comfortable. Thank youuuuu

This shop is dope! The front entrance is setup like a speakeasy. Youd never know it was there unless you were invited. The inside has like an old timey saloon vibe to it.I got a full upper arm tattoo by Mark. I told him I wanted 3 things. Dragon, Lich and battle scene. The rest was up to his imagination and boy did he deliver. One of the coolest tattoos Ive seen. Hes pricey so dont go in unless you can afford it, but Mark is a master at his craft and worth the price. He was easy to communicate with and flexible with the schedule. He did a few long sessions with me and he stayed vigilant till the end.Cant recommend highly enough!

Been dealing with Pat for years. Awesome guy, with awesome work. Super clean lines, great detail, and awesome end product. The new shop is amazing too. Definitely the coolest tattoo shop in Grand Rapids. Super clean shop, cleanliness and safety are superb. Great aesthetic.

Had a cover up done by Patrick. Not only was the shop one of the coolest things you’ll ever see (hint, look for the Pepsi machine), but their level of expertise is unmatched in the area. The cover up is so colorful and vibrant I keep getting compliments every day. This is my 10th tattoo and I’d never go anywhere else.

Love the atmosphere and great artist. Been goin to Mark for almost 7 yrs. Anything hes involved in is professional. My daughter will get her 1st tattoo from him in a few yrs. Copper Coin was so cool coming in the front door.Its crazy how many great artist are under this roof. Dope!

Patrick is very professional and put together an amazing studio! He has done the majority of my tattoos and they have turned out amazing! I will always be returning to Copper coin.

The Parlour has a great atmosphere. Patrick is wonderful to work with, he is professional and has a passion to create something that both he and the customer are proud of. I was really pleased how Patrick was able to take my ideas and really put it all together.

I never thought I would get a tattoo, I don’t even have my ears pierced. But after three early miscarriages I decided I wanted my babies with me always. I took a year thinking about it and for 3 months of that time I did my research. One night, after CopperCoin was supposed to be closed, I decided to call and leave a voicemail. I’d read and heard a ton of positive things so I felt like this was going to be a good fit for me. I almost hung up when Mike answered out of sheer terror.I didn’t and I’m so glad I hung out to chat. He talked me through the process booked me a consult and told me that despite my insistence that I would be the worst client ever since I’m needle shy and new to any body alterations, that we should meet.The nervous energy I had when I showed up for my appointment was palpable but Mike was super professional and immediately started putting my mind at ease. He took my drawing and not only made it digital, he gave me three other similar options in a matter of minutes. He talked me through styles and sizing, placement and longevity of my art piece. We decided on my original design with a few tweaks and made an appointment for my tattoo.I was so nervous for the first poke but was pleasantly surprised that my arm just felt like it had pins and needles while it was waking up. He offered to hold my hand with one of his arms and an amazing woman in the shop held my other. She talked to me for the first few minutes and then I realized I was going to be fine and thanked her.Overall it was a fantastic experience from start to finish.I can’t recommend CopperCoin enough. And….can’t believe I’m saying this but I have started thinking about what I want my next tattoo to be. I’m hooked! Thanks Mike and CopperCoin for being so chill and understanding of a newbie!
