The artist did a phenomenal job. He was able to put together the tattoo exactly how I had it in my head, and the work was quick and professional. He was very kind and I felt really welcome in the shop. Shop was very clean. Pricing was appropriate (any reputable place won’t come cheap, but I didn’t feel overcharged by any means). The work comes guaranteed and he is someone I’d feel comfortable approaching if I were unhappy. Overall a great experience!!

Gareth creates such a calm and caring environment for your appointment. Tattoo studios can be so intense and his does not feel that way at all. He has always listened to every vision I had with thoughtful responses. I appreciate him in this field so much! Thanks pal!

I cannot put into words how happy I am with my new tattoo (but Ill try)! I had wanted a sea turtle tattoo for a while but couldnt get past the idea of a mandala-style sleeve (that I couldnt swing). When I met with Gareth, he sketched up a sea turtle with a mandala shell in about two minutes and it was exactly I wanted (I just hadnt known it!).The tattoo process itself was seamless and comfortable. All of the paperwork and waivers were done on a tablet first, which I thought was kind of cool (and a lot quicker for someone like me, who has terrible handwriting). Once he got going, Gareth checked in several times to make sure I was doing okay. I was really impressed with him -- it seems like tattooing comes naturally to him and you can tell hes been at it for a while! The whole process was a lot quicker than I thought but I never felt rushed. He took care to make sure I was 100% happy with the design before we started, during the process, and again before we wrapped things up.I honestly intended this tattoo to be my last one, but Gareth made me want to get more of his art. Its pretty clear he absolutely loves his work and is a pro at it. Cant wait to go back again!

Ryan Stout sketched up my piece from a few reference pictures and Im in love!! He was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The studio was professional and clean. My friend recommended this studio to me and I am over the moon with how everything turned out.

Top notch in every way. The atmosphere, cleanliness, and customer service are nothing short of excellent. I’ve been going to Gareth for over 5 years now and have several phenomenal pieces by him. Not only is he super knowledgeable about his craft but he pays amazing attention to detail and is always up for a creative challenge. I’ve brought so many ideas to him over the years and he is always down to introduce new designs and concepts to me to take my idea to the next level. I get stopped all the time by people to ask where I get my tattoos done and I love referring them to Sovereign Arms knowing that they are in great hands.

My sister and I wanted to get our daughters names tattooed on our arms and we called everywhere, but everyone was booked or way overpriced. My sister called Sovereign Arms and talked to Jeremy. He was able to get us in the next day because he stayed after they closed to do them. He was super nice and our tattoos turned out amazing! Highly recommend!

Sovereign Arms deserves more than 5 stars. Matt Pike did a cover-up on an old tattoo on my shoulder. He was very informative every step of the way. The shop was clean and well-maintained and unlike most tattoo shops the music was decent and at an admirable level - I could actually hear what Matt was saying to me.The piece Matt did was drawn straight up and I 100% trusted him the piece would turn out fantastic - and it did. He tried his best to make me comfortable and allow me time to breathe.I wouldnt go anywhere else for my next tattoo! These guys are incredibly talented and the best in GR.

Ive always had a great time here. Gareth has done two very large pieces for me and though his wait time is extensive, so is his knowledge, professionalism, candor, and talent. Four stars is because myself and friends have had tattoos by a different artist there and none of us had very good experiences with him. But, I always choose the artist, not the shop. One is not the measure of all.

I was a walk in for my first tattoo and was immediately greeted and helped as soon as I walked inside by these guys, who are such nice people. I came back two hours later after having thought it through one last time, and was so happy with how I was treated. Hunter did an amazing job talking me through it so I wasn’t worried, and the tattoo ended up looking incredible. I DEFINITELY recommend this place!

Gareth is truly the best in GR. I went to him for my most important piece- the one out of all eight (now nine) I have that there was no room for anything short of perfection. He nailed it. Im SO beyond grateful. Id recommend him a million times over. Ill add the picture when it heals. 💓💓💓

My sister and I both just got small tattoos. One small finger tattoo and one upper arm tattoo. And Ryan and the whole group didn’t make us feel any less important because we were walk-ins with small pieces. So clean, nice, and professional. I’d recommend to anyone. Ryan was our artist and he was great in every aspect of the whole process!

Wonderfully friendly staff. Took my sister here for her first tattoo and Matt Pike was very friendly and took the time to explain a lot about tattoos and the process of getting one and calmed my sisters anxiety about getting one. Would recommend 100%

I had just left Wealthy Street Tattoo after being treated very poorly and not taken seriously. I walked into Sovereign Arms Tattoo and was immediately greeted warmly and ended up getting an amazing tattoo by Matt Pike. He listened to what I wanted and was very informative. It turned out exactly how I wanted, if not better. Cant wait to go back and get another by him!

My tattoo healed beautifully and I love it! Gareth explained every stop of the process to me thoroughly and made a change to my design without even an eye twitch.

My friend and I had an appointment at Sovereign Arms yesterday to get small Harry Potter Tattoos. Matt did both of ours and we were very impressed. Not only is everyone there very friendly and welcoming, it was also very clean. I talked to someone at Mos Eisleys about getting a Harry Potter Tattoo about a year ago and they all but told me it was a stupid idea. I was very unimpressed.GO TO THIS PLACE if you want great service, cleanliness and a GREAT tattoo.

If you want a grade A traditional tattoo, you CANT go wrong with Sovereign. I personally have two tats from Dylan Barker. He does great work, and is very very reasonable with pricing, especially if he has fun and youre a good client.

My mom and I got a tattoo in memory of my mom‘s brother, my uncle Jeff and we were so pleased with Ryan!!! It was my mom’s first tattoo and she had the best experience ever! We will most definitely be coming back!

My sister had an appointment here and the overall experience was not great. I’ve been tattooed many times all over the country and it was just... odd.First off, she didn’t sign any paperwork or anything when she got there. She had an appointment made ahead of time and shes well over legal age to get a tattoo so it wasn’t a big deal... but strange.Second, she had a reference to another tattoo the artist had done on someone else as what she wanted on herself. She had expressed there was a few points she wanted to modify so she wasn’t getting the same thing tattooed on her. He had agreed and the stencil he printed out was accurate to what she wanted. This is where things went a little south. He didn’t ask if she was ready and just started tattooing... usually when getting a tattoo they ask if you’re ready and then ask again if it feels ok! Which he did ask if it was feeling ok but not first if she was ready.After the outline, things were looking good and he started to do the shading and color. He made artistic integrities that she didn’t necessarily want and didn’t ask her opinion. He should have at least asked if that’s what she wanted as it wasn’t on the stencil or reference. It’s on her forever, he definitely could have ok’d it with her. I understand letting the artist do what they’re paid to do, but not changing it from the reference completely.The whole interaction felt rushed and poorly thought out. It felt like she was just money in and out the door. She had a pretty rough experience. The outcome, although well done (quality wise), it wasn’t what she wanted. I’m not giving a 1-star because they were clean and the staff seemed nice.

Great experience and beautifully done artwork. Dylan gave a great consultation beforehand and the aftercare instructions were the best I have had with all of my tattoo experiences.

Got my first tattoo here yesterday. Dylan couldn’t have been more friendly and knowledgeable and cool to work with. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get some work done.

Got a spur of the moment walk in tattoo. the design I had done turned out better than I had imagined it would, thanks to Ryan Stout. definitely planning on heading back as soon as I can!

I liked this place and definitely plan on going back there. Just make sure you make an appointment! It can get a little busy sometimes and you can have to wait for up to 3 hours or longer because of people with appointments.
