Ian was awesome. This was my first body tattoo and he did a rib piece for me. Excellent conversation, gentle with the hand, and knocked it out quickly. The tattoo turned out exactly like the photo. Can’t recommend him enough.

Can’t recommend enough! We (my husband and I) came as a book end tattoo date to our honeymoon and had a blast - the whole shop is full of great vibes, tons of laughs the whole time. The artist (I myself had James as my artist) was great, he took my idea and made it even better. The lines are so clean and it looks beautiful - already referred family coming out in August and I’m sure we will be back next trip! Thanks guys!!! 🙏🏼

Location, location, location. If you stay in Waikiki, the location is close to every major hotel. Fast easy access and the waits weren’t long. I scheduled early in the trip and got my tattoo on the day we left. Staff was very hospitable and talented. Rachel was my artist and she was very professional and has a good eye for lines and color shading. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. Thanks AlohaTattoo.

JAMES IS AMAZING! Husband was looking to cover an old fading tatoo and had some examples of styles he wanted. James designed an incredible upper arm sleeve, we stayed until the wee hours but it was wonderful watching his artistry, perfection! Location is clean and super friendly. I watched several other artists complete tatoos while we were there, all were beautiful. Pearl comforted my husband during some rough spots (thank you Ivan!) Husband is obsessed with his island souvenir!. Mahalo my friend, we enjoyed our time with you!

I walked in I was immediately greeted and paired with an Artist Andy. He listened to what I wanted and got to work. He was very light handed and did an amazing job. I will definitely return for more art if I visit Hawaii again.

I brought my 16yr old son in for his first tattoo and to finally get my chef tattoo done. We ended up laughing cracking up jokes. There was of course a painful part when he went over a scar. The whole experience was pretty much pain free and one happy memory I have with my son. Check out James and Micah as your next tattoo artist. You won’t regret it, I definitely didn’t.

Aloha tattoo took great care of me! The appointment was easy to make and quick, the original person I was scheduled with never showed up but they fit me in with someone else who did a great job. I had freaked out a bit once I removed the bandage because it was very blurry... Went back in and they cleaned it off for me, looks great!

Ian was amazing with my tattoo! He drew it up to make sure it had great detail and even added lettering at the end when requested. He talked with me the whole time and it was much appreciated.

Ive been to Waikiki multiple times, and this time I wanted to bring something permanent back with me. I decided on a tattoo that had personal meaning, but was also specific to the culture, but without cultural appropriation. I decided on the Honu. I contacted Aloha Tattoo, and I was able to pick my artist. I selected Toa. Toa described the meaning of the tattoo to me. Ive had multiple tattos, and Toa was smooth and gentle, and efficient. I am completely satisfied. Toa is an amazing artist, and theres nothing better than getting a Polynesian tattoo from a local Polynesian. If youre on the fence, but youve made it this far in my review, dont second guess and get it done. You will have no regrets. Thank you, Toa, and thank you Aloha Tattoo!

I had been circling around the idea of getting a tattoo for about 20 years now. As each milestone birthday approached, I was convinced that that was the time I was going to finally get it. Well - I finally did for this most recent milestone birthday and amazing vacation trip.I must have popped into Aloha Tattoo at least a half dozen times, and each time I did, it reinforced the good vibe I was getting. All the artists and staff were helpful and patient with me as I kept narrowing down what exactly I wanted to get. I met the owner (Tim) and he offered to be the artist who did my tattoo. I finally settled on one of his shark designs and my family came in to watch the process!If you are a newbie to tattoos, I think you will find that this is the place to be. DONT GO HERE. I didnt realize I paid almost $700 for temporary tattoos. I wish I could give zero stars. I visited this shop during my Hawaii vacation last week and my tattoos are literally disappearing. I have many tattoos and I have never once had this happen. I contacted the shop via e mail to let them know and no one ever got back to me. I feel ripped off. Mine and my friends BFF lip tattoos were gone in less than 24 hours and I havent even had my finger tattoo for a full week! Ive never experienced anything like that. I should also mention that the staff asked me to give them a positive online review as I was in the seat. They implied it would effect the price I paid for my work. So be weary of the 5 star reviews on here.

Britt and Ivan were both amazing and extremely cooperative. They are incredibly talented in their fields of expertise and the willingness they showed with questions and requests for additions or modifications was beyond exceptional 🫶🏽 can’t wait to come back and get more art from them in 2026. Absolutely amazing place, we stopped in on 3 separate occasions and there were different employees each time and they were all exceptional. Our first time stopping in was on the Saturday the Pokemon competition was taking place and made an appointment, but we ended up having to cancel it on our part but everyone we spoke to was so kind and helpful and they let us use the deposit we’d already put down on merchandise in the store which we’ve never had happen at another shop- honestly even without getting tattooed it was a 100/10 experience and when we come back we will definitely be getting a tattoo here!

My son and I went here to get a tattoo and were quoted $250 for my tattoo and $800 for his tattoo. When everything was done and said, my tattoo was $600 and my son’s tattoo was $2600 dollars.My son’s tattoo alone cost more than every tattoo I have on my body and that is a few. I was price shocked to say the least. I understand that this place is at the Hilton Waikiki Hawaiian Village and you might be price gouged a little but what I paid was 2 months worth of mortgage payments. 1st and last time going to this shop. Unless I want to be taken advantage of.

Loved this episode place, my family and I came in for matching tattoos and there were about 3-4 artists ready to take us. Ian did my tattoo and he was amazing!

I came and booked my appointment time a few days ahead and scheduled it for my last day on vacation; that way I was able to go to the beach and the pools and not worry about getting sun burned or it getting infected. The day of the appointment I got right in and was done quickly!

My two friends and I dropped into have some tattoos done. All turned out wonderful. The staff is amazing and super welcoming. They were able to work with our designs. Celebrating 50 years with matching tattoos, happy we had them done here.

When I was 3 years old, I watched Jaws 3 on tv with my dad. It scared me something fierce. I had nightmares for I don’t even know how long. What it also did was plant a seed of insatiable curiosity for me with regard to sharks. It was and is the cliché that I have probably forgotten more than the average person knows about sharks. I consumed books, both nonfiction and fiction (Jaws and Meg are still books I reread ever couple of years as well as various stories from Rodney Fox). Shark week was practically a holiday celebration. Fast forward 37 years from my first experience with Carcharodon carcharias and I finally did something I had been wanting to do, I swam in the open ocean with sharks off the Island of Oahu. I have swam with pigmy sharks in a giant fish tank in Florida, and snorkeled with nurse sharks in Belize. But this was a different experience. The open ocean, no sea floor visible. No, it wasn’t a great white shark, it was not even a tiger or hammerhead, which were potential sharks where I was snorkeling. I did see and swim with Galapagos Sharks. Not aggressive, more of an inquisitive shark. And it was…everything I had thought it would be. I could have snorkeled with these sharks for hours and it would have felt like minutes. They are absolutely beautiful creatures.I have thought about getting a tattoo of a shark for years but life and such always left me putting it on the back burner. And it was by legitimate coincidence while walking around the shops near our hotel while on vacation I found Aloha Tattoo Waikiki Hilton Hawaiian Village Rainbow Bazaar @alohatattoo . Even then I didn’t immediately set my mind on getting a tattoo. But the idea wouldn’t leave my thoughts. My shark dive was still 2 days away so this would have to happen after that and before we left. So I had about an 8 hour window. As luck would have it I was able to schedule for right after my planned shark experience. I met with Brit Haynes @madstatus with a photo of a tattoo I liked that she helped modify and make unique for me, incorporating some of the characteristics of the Galapagos Shark. She is truIy gifted in her craft and I would recommend her and a thousand times over.

Rachel was fantastic! I made a walk-up appointment in the morning easily for that night. My hammerhead piece took about 1.5-2 hrs to do and was priced very decently at $400ish. The shop was clean, air conditioned, and comfortable. The vibes/atmosphere were friendly and welcoming. Id definitely come back again!

Amazing experience.I highly recommend requesting Toa. My guy is super talented. Although any artist at this shop will crush what you ask for.I can’t thank Toa enough for all the work he put in to make sure I got what I asked for.If you want a sick tattoo, get over to Aloha Tattoo stat!!!

Dom was amazing. I had a plan but a few questions and he was great with the ideas and suggestions to finish it off. Light handed and kept making sure I was okay through the whole thing. Now I have a great reminder of my birthday and where I was born.

I recently got my belly button pierced here & definitely recommend! It was a clean, comfortable atmosphere. The piercer was very friendly & did the piercing very efficiently and I was surprised by how quick it went! He took the time to answer all my questions which I appreciated a lot. Clean, comfortable, friendly environment!!

Adam at Rainbow Tattoo did an absolutely amazing job doing my tattoo as well as keeping me comfortable and cracking jokes the whole time! Overall just great service from everyone.

Update 2: Wow I cant believe you ask for an honest review and then get upset when its truly honest. I find it crazy that you feel the need to insult not only me but all outsiders (tourists) that come to the islands and literally generates most of the revenue for the state. Bottom line, I clearly stated that I loved the design but I can clearly see shaky line work and blow outs on my tattoo. I stated it was overpriced because I went to other shops that were not so close to the major hotels and they all quoted me a fraction of the $900+ that I already paid. There is nothing I can do, I will never get that money back as you tried to imply. I hope you learn to take criticism with grace and dignity next time, because there will more than likely be a next time.I love the design, the line work was a little shaky and was definitely overpriced. Although you asked for my honest review and ultimately got upset about what I had to say, I will update again. I never said anything about Toa or the design that he drew on me, I am upset about the quality of my tattoo. The small line work that he did with the shader has pretty much all fallen out, even though I followed the aftercare directions to a T. As far as the refund, I told Toa that it was my last day on the island so he knew I wouldnt be back to receive any kind of money back. Sorry you are so deeply upset by my honest review.
