Came in after a bad experience at another tattoo shop. Hanz was understanding, professional, timely, knowledgeable, cleanly, etc…Pricing was reasonable. I got a tattoo of the Tri-star on my forearm. Hanz uses high quality materials and equipment. Im happy with the artwork and my overall experience.

Hands down the best place ever! Did a coverup for me, he designed it with me, made sure I understood everything in the coverup process! He is the best around and the place is so clean and organized! I will see him for my next tattoo for sure!

First time being here in Knoxville and wanted a tattoo and there were awesome

I had a odd shaped tattoo to get covered up and Hanz did a amazing job working with me on a design and getting it covered up! Im currently on crutches and he was super attentive on making sure I was comfortable and okay as we went through the challenge of covering up my old tattoo with my awesome new art piece! The shop itself is super clean and welcoming and you get to listen to some great jams as youre getting tatted. All in all great place, great art, and great people!

Hanz Zarate is a Master tattoo artist. I have had four tattoos done by him and they are all top notch artistry. Hanz is also not afraid to tell you when a tattoo will not work or look bad. He has a direct but honorable personality. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get a quality tattoo.

Hanz did an AMAZING job with my tattoo. I brought in a birthday card from my grandma hoping to get a line from it tattooed. He made sure the integrity and sincerity from her handwriting was shown. We talked about life and tattoo ideas; Im definitely coming back for my future pieces. The shop was very clean and calming. Overall, I would recommend this shop to everyone.

What can I say about AMY?!! To start off she is freaking amazing, incredible, artistic, passionate and a women who takes pride in her work! I found Amy on my for you page on Instagram and I loved her pristine line work and her attention to detail! I recently lost my grandmother and I wanted to get a piece that represented her! Amy took every aspect of my grandmother that I had described to her from her name and how important it was, to the color, and to the flowers that represented the month that she was born in. I had an automatic instinct to trust her and her ideas to capture how truly import my grandmother was to me!! Amy’s overall vibe was on 10 the entire tattoo session. She made sure that I was comfortable and asked if I needed a break. We talked and laughed throughout the whole session it was really personable and I felt like I’ve known Amy my entire life! We even discussed other pieces that I would want her to do and how she can incorporate it into the sleeve that I am building!! honestly it was one of the best times I’ve ever had being tattooed!!! As for the shop and the other artist they were amazing as well constantly checking to see if I needed anything the shop was clean and really gave you that comfortable vibe that you were about to get some amazing work done! Once this piece heals I am totally heading back for Amy to do another piece on me and being able to see what other creative ideas she can come up with because seriously the WOMAN IS BRILLIANT!!! Love you Amy can’t wait for another session!

Hanz has done all but one of my tattoos. He is a master of his craft and a pleasure to work with when it came to design layout of my half sleeve. I can’t wait to continue working with him to complete a full sleeve. Plus this place is military and police friendly. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Very happy with my experience at Black Moth Collective! Went in to finally get the tattoo Ive been wanting and after describing what I wanted to Hanz I couldnt believe the design he drew for me. It was so much better than what I had envisioned! The experience was nice, and Hanz was super friendly and professional, and the finished tattoo turned out so much better than I hoped for! I will be going only here from now on!

Emailed to schedule a consultation the owner Hanz was very quick to respond back…went in and Nick completed the piece I wanted. If I need any other work done Hanz and Nick will be who I call!

I had a wonderful experience with Amy, My tattoo had very deep sentimental meaning as the woman that raised me died at 102 years old & the Pandemic prevented me from seeing her burial or even grieve from the loss. Amy gave me the help that i needed to accept my Grandmother is gone. We had a blast talking laughing & sharing some life experiences. She took great care of me & gave me a beautiful tattoo that gets many admirers. Thank you Love ya girl.

Came in for a walk-in, great staff. I was able to see Nick who was incredibly accommodating and super talented! would highly recommend!!

I went in for a tattoo that was a pretty intricate piece. I developed an infection because the artist dug too deep into my skin and covered my tattoo with the improper saniderm. I know some infections are caused by improper aftercare, but the infection was evident as soon as I took off the saniderm. I got opinions from other artists thankfully who helped me save the piece, but there was no communication from the artist at Black Moth who did my tattoo as to how to help the infection. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this shop, just because the mistakes made were simple mistakes that could have been easily avoided by simple education.

I got a pretty simple tattoo. but this tattoo has a lot of meaning behind it and Hanz was very informative and executed all the little details perfectly. I have been raving about him ever since and will continue to do business there again and again.

Hanz is by far the best artist I have ever had work done by. I am far from an easy client because of the ideas I have for tattoos I would love to have, but Hanz was perfect to bring my newest piece to. He was honest and upfront, but never said he couldnt do it and didnt just do it for the money. I love how our ideas combined came out. He is beyond talented and just an awesome guy all around. I have the utmost respect for an artist who loves their craft the way Hanz does.Betty Boop and the Ahnk were already there. So not only was this a complete around the neck piece, but he had to work around existing pieces.
