Kevin helped me remove a piercing I had in for almost 15 years! He was extremely friendly, quick, informative, and really made my experience in the shop great. Everyone in the shop was pleasant and welcoming. Its a temporary removal and I am excited to come back to get it put back in 🤗

I have had four piercings done here, all were excellent. The last one was a nostril piercing that involved removing a piercing that was done at another place (I won’t name names, but going somewhere else was a HUGE mistake), and was not placed well AT ALL. The professionalism is evident throughout the process here. And my piercer demonstrated his experience not just with his gentle technique and skill , but with his knowledge and manner. Top marks from me, and I have definitely learned my lesson and will NEVER go anywhere else again (no matter how convenient.)

Got a piercing done by Kevin, 10/10 experience. will definitely be coming back! he was super friendly and thorough with instructions. he was also made sure that the placement was perfect and made me check multiple times to make sure i was happy with it.

Nat was my artist. great job with how it turned out and the whole process took maybe about an hour and a half. very satisfied. picture 1&2 is during and directly after. picture 3 is a few months after. the other one was the reference photo that i wanted replaced with ravens and it turned out amazing!

I got a second lobe piercing on both ears, then a cartilage piercing on my left ear, and a daith piercing on my right ear. Kevin was amazing and now I know why my friend recommended Artfully Insane — unique atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fairly priced. I am SO GLAD I went! I have gone here for all of my piercings. I wouldn’t trust another place to stab me. I highly recommend Kevin he has done all 7 of my piercings and I have never had any issues with them. He is also very thorough with explaining what hes doing during the procedure as well as explaining the aftercare of the piercings.

Came in for the first time around 6:40 to get both nipples pierced. Kevin was the name of my piecer and I have to say I’m so glad he was! When I went in the room he was very professional and explained the official process, healing process, etc. After the first piercing I believe I held my breath during I began to be extremely light headed. Kevin was there the entire time for me. Literally best bed side manners I’ve ever experienced. After that recovery he was so kind on if I wanted to stop or continue. I was not about to leave with 1 nipple pierced so I said let’s go for it and he did! Extremely kind people here with my experience and will definitely be coming back for any future piercing I’m wanting and guaranteed to ask for Kevin!Came back for a Septum, Dominique, my piercer created yet another amazing experience!!! Weve had three tattoos done by Nat. I cant say enough how great they are. Excellent experience, good communication and the best line work Ive seen. Definitely booking Nat for my next one.

Came in for a second nostril piercing and a lip piercing. The people I met were very friendly, fairly sure Kevin did my piercings. He was awesome. Very knowledgeable and kind. Definitely one of my better experiences with piercings locally! I would personally return to see this same piercer again, well worth the cost of the piercings.

I had my leg tattoo done on 6/20/22 by Innes. He did an amazing job! The total time took about 3hrs because hes a perfectionist with his work! I appreciated that about him so much. Check out Artfully Insane they are awesome!

Second time here, as I had had a great piercing experience before. However, this visit was not consistent with the first whatsoever. I wanted my belly button and septum pierced this visit by the same piercer I had the first time I went, Doc. We started off with the naval, then did the septum. I was charged an extra $7, which was unclear why, I left a good tip, and left. I didnt like the way it looked on my face after, and felt like the proportions and sizing of the jewelry were very off. Upon further inspection by a friend of mine who is an established piercer as well, the naval piercing was crooked/tilted and the septum was pierced entirely too low, and it was very noticeable that something about it wasnt right. I called and returned to Artfully Insane where I was given a lot of helpful information in regards to the size of the starter jewelry I was given, however when I mentioned my friends insight, there was no attempt to listen, and I was told by Doc that he doesnt give a **** about what some kid has to say about the work I do. I started to ask if I could get it removed then and there, but was interrupted before I could get the question out, so he thought I was asking about changing the size of the jewelry, to which he also refused. I ended up removing the septum at home but am going to keep the belly button piercing in hopes that it looks better with other jewelry once healed. All in all, very disappointing and the inconsistency of the service is regrettable. Will not be returning or giving another chance. I would give the other piercer, Kevin, a chance if you are really intent on going there, Ive heard nothing but good reviews for him. Definitely call and ask who is in on the day you want to go there.

I just got my tragus pierced by Kevin today and he was the best I’ve been to before. He explained the process for during and after the piercing and was very passionate about what he does. Definitely coming back again!!

Nose pierced in November 2023 and it didnt hurt at all. No problems afterwards either. He did an amazing job! (The guy with the long white beard)

My wife, friends and I had all been talking about getting piercings done we found Artfully insane online after a little research and we couldnt have been more pleased with the experience. Kevin did All of ours not only did he have a medical background he was very thorough in everything he did. Between all of us there were 5 nipples, 1 tongue and also 1 conch piercing. Had my first piercing here. I was pretty nervous, but everyone was SO nice and helped me stay calm. Kevin (my piercer) knew exactly what he was doing, let me know everything he was going to do, and everyone keeps telling me how nice my ears look! Plus, everything was clean, safe, and they made sure I knew exactly what to do to help the piercings heal. If I could give them ten stars I would! If you go there ask for Kevin (he knows what hes doing and hes a genuinely cool dude).

Went to artfully insane for my very first tattoo in November. Heard good things, but the artist absolutely screwed it up somehow. This tattoo is tiny and its like he scribbled it on my arm. They offer free touch-ups and its very slightly better now, but my tattoo will never be just right and its very scarred and bumpy whereas my other tattoos from other shops are completely smooth. Against my better judgement, I went back to them for my nose piercing after several of my friends went and the piercing artist recommended Bactine anti-septic for my piercing. After using it a couple times and experiencing bleeding and irritation, did some research and discovered Bactine itself specifically says (online and on the bottle) do NOT use on puncture wounds as they can greatly prolong the healing process, and piercings are obviously puncture wounds!! My piercing ended up getting super infected even though I kept it very clean and I had to remove it permanently, Im lucky it didnt scar terribly. It was extremely painful. These guys seem very proud of their business theyre running here but their confidence cant ever convince me their work is as good as they say. Will not be going here again, disappointed in myself for giving them a second chance :/

Walked in for a nose piercing and a tattoo idea. The dude, can’t remember his name maybe Kevin?, who did my nose was very informative and helpful, even with info on my other piercing that I had done somewhere else years ago. Loved what Nat drew for me! Nat took me back and was able to tattoo me right then. Would recommend. Great prices and very friendly staff.

For starters, I genuinely didnt expect to get an appt so quickly, but was very happy they were able to fit me in. I came in to get a tattoo of my husbands handwriting, and while it may not look like much to some people, I am absolutely in love with it... Travis did an AMAZING job and I will definitely be back to see him again. While I was here, Kevin, also switched out my nose ring for me. He was the one who did the actual piercing of my nose a few months prior and let me tell you, you cannot get anyone more thorough. You can tell that everyone here really cares and puts a lot of love into their work. I would recommend them to anyone!

This was my first tattoo and I was so nervous about pain and just the general experience... But this was a dream!! Everything seemed very sanitary and professional, and the studio had lots of beautiful pieces of art on display. I was tattooed by Travis, and he was so kind and unbelievably talented. He definitely made the experience by being reassuring and being aware of how I was doing. Kevin (one of the piercers) came in and was also being very comforting. It was so delightful to chat with both of them. My tattoo looks so beautiful and Travis was helpful with aftercare. I literally cannot recommend him and this studio enough. If I ever need another tattoo, I will definitely be coming back!!

I was extremely disappointed! I was extremely excited to get my nose pierced along with a friend at a new shop. I have been to a few shops and have 16 piercing so I feel I have a little experience with piercings. When I was getting my piercing the man with the really long beard was really off putting! He didnt introduce himself or say hello, he didnt tell me the gauge of my piercing, he didnt do a count town, and most importantly was extremely rude when I was questioning the placement of the piercing, and I should have walked out. He seemed very upset that I was questioning his placement .Considering I only wanted the Piercing up a little higher!He made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed in the shop. Not to mention that its ten dollars more that it says one the website and he charge me and my friend an extra 4 dollars or it was a tip assuming since he didnt even ask me if I wanted to!

Received a tattoo from Natalie yesterday, and can say I have now found my tattoo home. From the moment you walk in the door you can tell that customer service is their priority. Their prices are very reasonable and the entire process from start to finish could not have been more easy. Just wanted to say if youre thinking about going here you should! The wait for me was about 10 minutes but I was able to get in and out quickly. The person doing my piercing told me everything he was doing, which made me feel very comfortable. Absolutely loved my experience with them. Overall 10/10.

Went my first time 3 years ago, and Im just now updating this again to say I still go there for my jewelry and piercings. I highly recommend it. I love the people there, and the artwork is pretty dope, too!

I got snake bites awhile back, once the swelling went down. I noticed that one side was pierced crooked and way to far up on the inside of my lip. Ive dealt with it and cleaned that side extra. Unfortunately I have now had to resort to taking it out due to continued infections on that one side. Ive never had an issue with the other side or the many piercing I already have. I do think if this one side was not so far up on the inside of the inner lip, I wouldnt have a problem. I can not remember the name of the person that did it but they did have to go get him from the bar next door and you could smell the alcohol on him. I continued on with getting them done which looking back now I shouldve just went somewhere else. Everyone was very nice, I just honestly think he was drunk. The price was more than what I was quoted as well. Once this is healed up I will be going to get it redone, but unfortunately not here.

I wish they would answer the phone, i just want to know what piercing jewelry was used because i made the mistake of not asking beforehand. I got my belly button done and its kind of crooked and its an awful healing process compared to my friend who got hers at a different shop around the same time. They were super friendly but it just doesnt seem to be healing.

I got a tragus and pair of triple lobe piercings here, and it was an excellent experience. doc is extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. it was by far my least painful piercing experience and the healing process was unproblematic. you do not get to choose your piercing jewelry which can be frustrating for some people, but he explained that they only use surgery-grade jewelry for the piercing jewelry to ensure no issues.

I have had Travis for 4 tattoos now and all have been great! The place definitely has an older laid back Piercing/Tattoo shop vibe and the people there really fit in. Expect some sailor language and fun jokes going around, its a tattoo shop, not your grandmas nursing home lol. Also keep in mind youre a moving breathing canvas, almost no tattoo is actually perfect when you look very close. Thats just part of it and what makes each one unique.

This place is great. Ive been for two piercings. The first was a nose piercing (by Kevin) and the second was an upper-ear cartilage piercing (by Doc). In both cases, they were kind, knowledgeable, efficient, and super thorough about after-care. Absolutely my go-to for future piercings.

Kevin took care of my piercings - 2 lobes and a nostril! Each one was done with a new needle, he walked me through the whole process very easily after a long day of piercings. After 3 weeks, they are healing nicely, with no infection! Ill be returning for future piercings as while they pierced a whole lotta people, I dont think anyone walks out not satisfied with there service

I don’t know his name but it was the older guy with the long white beard that did my piercings. He did not ask me what kind of jewelry I wanted for my bottom lip or my nose. I honestly hate it. It doesn’t match my other jewelry at all and I have to live with it for 8 weeks while it heals. At first he brushed off my complaint and just asked me to pay. Like “well there’s nothing we can do about it, it’s the only starter jewelry we have.” If I was informed of that I would have gotten it done on a different day. I didn’t know I couldn’t switch it out once it was pierced if I didn’t like the jewelry in the shop. If he knew that he should have made sure I liked the jewelry first before putting it in my face! I told him I wasn’t happy they gave me a 20 dollar voucher to get my jewelry switched out to something else when it’s healed. Which was fine.But when Santa pierced my friend’s ear he didn’t even ask her which jewelry she wanted either. She didn’t like it as well. We’re both very feminine and prefer FEMININE jewelry, the jewelry he gave us was very masculine.WORK ON YOUR COMMUNICATION SKILLS. I most definitely will not be getting any more work done here they do not walk you through what they’re going to do before they do it. Which is insane to me because I’ve never had a piercer that didn’t show me what jewelry options I had before hand.

Doc pierced my daughters ears and was absolutely incredible and patient with her, she is 10. Made her feel comfortable and did a great job! She loves them! The whole shop was friendly, professionally and funny! Would definitely recommend!

Today was my second visit to artfully insane. Last time I got my earlobes done and this time my nose. This visit was every bit as awesome as the first. I will certainly go back if I come to find that something else needs some work done.

Walked in for a septum piercing 1/23/2022. Kevin was an absolute angel & so helpful, kind, careful, and welcoming. I had my septum pierced before in my hometown a while back & told him the placement had been messed up before and he took his time and was very gentle and methodical, taking measurements & making sure the clamp was just right. He made sure I felt comfortable and okay throughout the process & had a very warm presence. I am so happy with the way it turned out, and it looks a lot better than when i had it pierced before. i am over the moon with the quality of service & kindness from this place.

Excellent job. In and out in 20 minutes with the exact double helix I wanted! Kevin was patient, even though I asked him to move his Marks twice :)

I got a septum done on a walk-in appointment with Kevin. I definitely didn’t handle the build up to the piercing very well, I mean I was getting annoyed with myself, but Kevin never showed any sort of annoyance with me and stayed calm and supportive the whole time. He made sure I was comfortable and talked me through the entire process. My piercing looks wonderful and I’m so happy with the service that Artfully Insane provided.

I got my nose pierced a little under a month ago and it was great! It was my first professional piercing (I got my ears pierced at Claire’s over 12 years ago) and Kevin was so helpful. He explained everything as he was doing it and made me feel so calm. I normally can’t even get blood drawn without shaking but I barely felt nervous. He explained the aftercare thoroughly and answered any questions I had. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I will definitely be going back if I decide to get more piercings!

I got my septum pierced here by Kevin. He was so nice, professional and everything was clean/sterile. I ended up not liking the way the horse shoe looked on me and I came back the next day for a jewelry change. He changed it and was so kind during the whole process. He didn’t even charge me for the jewelry! I love this place and will continually go back for all of my piercings. Thank you all for such a nice piercing experience!

They do all they can to make sure you understand what you are getting into with your piercings and are somehow still super gentle when they shove needles into your skin. 10/10. After waiting eight weeks, Kevin finally had my nose ring set in place. Quick and painless. ❤

Right off the bat when we walked in the vibe was a bit weird. We continued to make an appointment for one right earlobe piercing. We waited 45 minutes and got a call that they were ready. We walked in and there were no workers except one lady that was doing a tattoo. We waited 15 minutes to learn that they were all having a SMOKE break 😡. After everyone came back in I asked to see the earring that I was getting, the lady showed me a little hoop so I felt good about that. I wanted to get the same one put in my left ear. After Doc was ready. He leaned me back in a chair and told me to take deep breaths he started sticking a bigger needle in my left ear! I started blacking out and I had to lean forward I told him to wait a minute and he refused. We finished doing my left ear. He told me he could not do my other one. The earring that he put in was a lot bigger than I was expecting and the worst part is he did not explain at all what he was doing. I WARN YOU NEVER EVER COME HERE IT IS HORRIBLE!

I’m not one to write reviews but I felt like I should share this experience. I walked in for a nose piercing and was out within 15 minutes. Doc took me in and was very thorough with aftercare instructions and what and what not to do. The room was very clean as well. He made the process very quick and painless. Would definitely go here for any future piercings.

I am new to Louisville came in March from Ohio , I went got a dermal Bill did great fast .I also took my daughter there for her piercing fast & fantastic job & I just went today to have my derma removed it was fast didn’t hurt at all this is the only place I trust to go for any piercings & when ready for more tattoos this is my place great people

I went with my friend today for her nostril piercing. It looks so cute! I did not get anything but did ask for an anatomy check for a snug piercing. Kevin answered all my questions and was so kind and patient with me! I will be back for a piercing.

Gotten pierced here twice by Doc, and Tamashii did a tattoo for me recently. On a different persons tattoo that I came with, Tamashii even did custom lettering instead of using some sort of font generator like everyone else Ive been to at different shops.Super amazing! Everyone is fantastic and I plan to come here for any future work! Also, theres really cool artwork available to buy.

I don’t usually leave reviews but have been so pleasantly surprised by how smoothly my piercings have went at Artfully Insane. I got my triple helix done in one session, triple forward helix done in one session, and my septum done here, and every time have been so happy with the result. Always less painful than I am expecting and they are always patient, reassuring, and informative. Doc and Kevin are awesome, I’ll always be happy to come here for any future piercings!

Was a walk-in to get my nose pierced and I had Kevin. He was so incredibly nice and talked thoroughly and in-depth about after care. He could tell I was nervous and was really calm and helpful with me. On top of all of that, he did an amazing job! 100% recommend for first time or any time piercing and I will most definitely go again for any tattoo or piercing needs!

I absolutely love this place! All the employees are very experienced in their work and the customer service is great. I have been both tatted and pierced several times here. Natalie is my favorite tattoo artist, she can draw literally anything and also tattoo it onto your body perfectly. She is pretty swift and also very detailed. She knows what shes doing for sure. Doc pierced me three times the other day and they are beautiful. Two chest dermals and my cartilage on my ear. They have all healed up quite well. I send all my recommendations here! Check it out! The only reason I give 1 star at all is because the receptionist, Dominique was very helpful and sweet. Doc, the one in charge of piercing was very rude and unprofessional. He also wanted to insert a replacement dermal post that wasnt even sterilized in my face and then have a attitude because he was questioned about it and told me I wasted $20. Not only was it not sterilized but also not the correct size. I was told the only place to get correct size dermal replacement was there since thats where I got the piercing at and his jewelry didnt even fit. Liar liar

Love this place. I just turned 18 today and really wanted a piercing since i could sign for myself, took maybe 10 minutes waiting and less than 5 getting my industrial done. Paid in cash and was out quick. They were so nice and was very comfortable there. Best experience ever.

I got a tattoo from Psycho today. Very friendly environment, great conversation, awesome tattoo. He’s a funny dude, and the quality of his work is fantastic. Will definitely be a repeat customer going forward! Highly recommended.

My 9-year-old grandson came fro a piercing with Doc. The whole experience was very hasty and unprofessional. Doc may somehow have a good reputation, but was quite condescending and impatient in handing this child. There was no conversation about what would happen, and when, and the wrong earring was inserted. My grandson became queasy and faint over the proceedure and none of the staff seemed to have any concern over this. Doc seemed to have a low frustration tolerance and lacked basic people skills. Avoid this place. There are many options out there.

Very friendly atmosphere and very professional!!! Got my nose and lip pierced and my husband got his tongue pierced, very reasonable pricing as well. The piercer was very clean and opened everything in front of us, and provided very helpful instructions for cleaning and care!!! We are from St.Louis but will be back for sure when we come back in town!!! Thanks for everything!!!!

Got my nipples pierced here! Everyone was so kind and made my experience very comfortable so I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be. Made sure everything was private and clean before using and piercing. Loved my experience with them 100%!!!

I took my teenager here to get her nose pierced. Doc was great! We loved his manner and wit. The place was clean and busy. Parking was easy. After care instructions were direct and easy to understand. It was a great experience overall.

It was so nice to actually talk to people who made you feel right at home. 5 star service and my piercings were minimal in pain. I highly recommend them for piercings I got 2 snake bites on my bottom lip. They also do tattoos so go check them out

I got my belly button pierced 2 days ago, I was extremely nervous and the piercer did such a wonderful job helping me calm down and talked to me through the whole process, he provided me a card for cleaning care. I am in no pain, and the piercing is as straight as can be. Very pleased with my results.

I got a body piercing here, and Kevin is wonderful! He made my friend and I feel very comfortable. The building was very clean, and Kevin washed his hands whenever he started and throughout the process. He went through after care and talked about the healing process. Theyll fit your piercing precise. But for a tip go up one size from what your piercer says on the monroe . Always 16g but try a size longer on the stud. Mine said 8mm but my instinct said 10 and its perfect plus even if you think your right swelling can make you wrong. They got the good though 5 dollar studs

Came here to see Doc for a friends birthday. I got my nose pierced and my friend got like 4 ear piercings. Doc was amazing! Super knowledgeable and friendly! I mean this guy really knows his stuff! I would highly recommend seeing him for a piercing! He loves what he does and you can really tell.

Me and my husband went there this morning. We both got small tattoos but never the less. They were great. Fairly price and Mr. Lamb was great to have conversation with while we were getting them done. We will definitely go back with out a doubt!!!

I got my conch pierced in April. Kevin (who reminds me quite a bit of Bob Ross) was very friendly, and he talked me through the entire process. I didnt bleed, and it is healing very well! Doc pierced my sisters nose years ago, and it was perfect, too. The shop is extremely clean and well lit.

I went and got my rook and cartilage pierced today, I had Kevin pierce me. He was very nice and understanding and did the whole process very smoothly. I jerked away when he was putting in the piercing and he put it back somehow very painlessly. I would definitely recommend him any day.

Walked in for a nose piercing. Kevin was absolutely amazing. He was kind, gentle, sweet, and caring. He made sure everything was sanatized really well prior to my piercing. I plan to go back and get my nipples pierced by him.

I went for my first cartilage piercing 2 days ago and was very nervous. Doc calmed me down and did an awesome job, even giving me a card that told me what to do to care for my piercing. Hurt way less than the piercing gun at the mall and was out of there in 10 minutes. 2 days later the soreness has already gone away!! Definitely will be back :)

Came in to get my triples done, the lady at the front desk was super nice, but i’m disappointed in the piercer. He acted like he didn’t want to be there and hated every second of piercing me. He was super condescending and kept talking over me and would not respond to most things i asked or said, it was super overwhelming and not a pleasant experience. Everything felt rushed and now my piercings look uneven. I understand that my singles were done uneven, the piercer that did my doubles took that into account to make both ears look even, he however did not. I should have said something in the moment but i was too rushed and overwhelmed to do so. Im honestly tempted to take them out and let them heal so i can get them done again by someone else.

I had a completely unprofessional navel piercing at hard life tattoo on one of their Friday the 13th piercing sales and that was a bad idea but i had no idea itd be like that i was recommend by a fried well I got it done and it was done crookedly and with improper stater jewelry so i talked to other friends and they recommended me to go to Artfully Insane to see if they could fix it or to give me advice. i reached out to them via email because i wasnt able to stop into the shop until the following weekend and I wanted to act on the matter ASAP. They responded to me very fast and with the best advice possible I havent got my piercing done yet and I know this a quality place just for the simple fact they returned my emails so quickly and helped me without knowing me and without me coming in. needless to say soon as my wound heals this will be the place I rerun to get any new piercings especially my navel.

Ive visited Artfully Insane a couple times now for both tattoos and piercings and it is by far the friendliest and cleanest shop Ive ever visited. Natalie designed original art for my most recent piece and was extremely professional, sweet, and willing to listen to and address any of my concerns/thoughts. Her willingness to please a customer is above and beyond anything I could have expected. Her work is precise, clean, and gorgeous. I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else.

Ive been pierced by both Doc and Kevin over the years. Not only do they do great work and have tons of knowledge (you can ask them anything, and they will likely have an answer), but their prices havent changed in several years. Other shops, not so much. Ive never had an issue, and preach their aftercare instructions to others. Wont go anywhere else!!

Every artist here is extremely friendly (Even when they are having a bad day)!I got my helix piercing here, and the experience was great, but after about a month or so I experienced great discomfort. I remembered that my piercer told me if i had any issues, to give the shop a call or to stop by. I decided to stop by due to the amount of swelling and discomfort i was experiencing, i knew it was abnormal. Kevin changed out my piercing to a larger size and a day later i am feeling amazing, no pain! The swelling has gone down significantly. I highly recommend going to a place like this that really cares about the health of the customer. I am overall very pleased, and WILL come back if i get any more piercings or ink 😊

I got my medusa pierced the other day. I recommend this place above anyone in Louisville. Tattoo Charlies piercer is NEVER in house and very unreliable. The person who did my medusa was so professional and knowledgeable about anatomy and the business in general. The medusa piercing in itself is not supposed to be pleasant, it was painful but I am 100% it would have been much worse if someone inexperienced or not as concerned about doing the right job had done it. He was amazing. Best experience Ive had in that setting.If you have younger teens getting nose studs or different ear piercings, I recommend. I had tons of kids in front of me getting them done and all came out beaming from ear to ear with happy parents. Thank you Artfully Insane! ALL OF YOUR STAFF WERE SO NICE AND PROFESSIONAL!

Went here on a spur of a moment decision to get both nostrils pierced. Doc did the piercing and was not only super professional but funny as well! He was well informed and answered any questions I had and actually taught me something I never knew about salt water. I will reccomend Doc forever after getting my nose done here.

40 bucks for a nose piercing which includes jewelry. The initial lady who greeted us was pleasant but the guy who did the actual piercing wasn’t friendly at all. Not a terrible place but if I had to get another piercing I wouldn’t go back.

Can’t say much about the quality of work but can comment on the customer service I received. Went to get pierced at 2:00 right when they opened, was told the piercer was finishing lunch and would be right back. We waited 40 minutes (with no one else in the waiting room) and ultimately ended up leaving when I finally (politely) asked what the wait was for and was told “things happen”. No one even checked on us at all the whole time we waited, wouldn’t go back.

I went to Psycho for my recovery tattoo after hearing good things from other people who had recently been tattooed by him. He was incredibly unprofessional and said the other tattoo artists in the area were nowhere near as good as he was. He also went way too deep in my wrist so the ink has bled into the rest of my skin, making the lines look very blurred, while others have faded out almost completely. I decided to get the tattoo removed after less than a year because of how poorly it turned out. Do NOT go to this shop for tattoos.

I got my tongue pierced here recently. And I had a decent experience. My friend recemended this place. I was a little creeped out by the way the building looked inside. When I walked in the piercing room it looked kind of dirty and scary. I got a weird vibe from the piercer, but overall everything went well and Id probably go back for more. This place has character.

I read the reviews and went to see doc for nipple piercing. I was super nervous at first but he calmed me down. Made me felt like I’ve known him my whole life. I would recommend anyone and everyone to come here!

I came for a nostril piercing and I’m very frustrated with my piercer. He was rude, extremely fast with the after care and genuinely acted like he hated every second of being there. It crashed my excitement and now I’m stuck at home confused about everything. I was never told what kind of ring he put in or when I need to start washing it how to change it when to change it etc. he also shamed all “kids my age” who try to inform people online about aftercare so now not only do I not know what to do but Im skeptical about who to believe or how to get my information.

Overall an awesome shop. The artist are extremely talented and I have found a new permanent shop. All artist are friendly and the shop has an awesome comic book and other worldly like atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone interested in getting a tattoo or piercing.

I took my 11-year-old twin daughters to have their ears pierced. Doc, our competent and precise piercing specialist, had 23 years of experience, looked like Cowboy Santa, inspired confidence, was super kind and friendly, and made our experience as easy as possible. We brought a couple of the girls friends for moral support, and it was really nice to have them in the room too. I was impressed at the clean environment and sterilized equipment.Piercing with a sharp gauged needle and removing the core of tissue before placing the earring is so much healthier than smashing through the earlobe with a gun to shove an earring in! Also, my girls have lovely little silver hoops that make cleaning much easier than the studs that were used back in my day. I greatly appreciated the good instructions on cleaning with Bactine, too. Super super experience!! Bonus, you can see people getting tattoos in the adjoining rooms!

I got my industrial bar done by a man I think named Kevin and he was EXCELLENT. Went back to get a longer bar and some dude named Doc helped me and he was EXTREMELY rude. When I spoke on the phone with someone they said the jewelry would be $5 but he tried to charge be $10. He made snide comments and he was all in all just very rude. You shouldn’t get into a business that is based on being a people person if you’re not a people person.

Great place to get a tattoo or piercing. They have pierced my daughters ears and they never have had any issues. Very good at making you relaxed and comfortable and make sure you know how to clean it before you leave.

My new place for tattoos. Got a piece on my inner forearm. The first session took around 5 hours and the second session took around 4. The first session was for the outline and the second was for color. The best artist in the shoppe is Travis in my opinion. Definitely heading back for the many other pieces I have in mind.

Nose piercing was incredibly painful and the guy couldn’t place it properly so kept going in & our & wiggling the needle around. Caused so much pain I could’ve passed out.Prices were decent

I got my second tattoo here this past weekend and it was great! The staff was very friendly and hilarious, plus they did a great job. Everything was super clean and comfortable, and the price was great. Also I love my tattoo!!

I got my rook pierced with a hoop, even though I wanted a curved barbell. This caused me to develop an irritation bump. I was also told to use antiseptic on my piercing, which was way too harsh. They’re all super friendly and good at making the piercing session comfortable, but their jewelry choice and aftercare instructions are not good. None of the piercers here are a part of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP), which you can easily find out on APP’s website.

Got my nose pierced, Im 15 about to be 16 and came I in with my mother, she signed the concent form. When I went back Doc talked to me about cleaning, not to listen to online posts, and what NOT to do, my pain tolerance is very low so i rate it a like 5 or 6/10 but really its different for everyone. He did great, told me to breathe and close my eyes so I didnt mess up my eye makeup lol. After he put the jewelry I got extremely dizzy, so he let me sit there for a bit till I felt better. Im assuming I got dizzy from blood rush to my head, no idea. (he said it was because I wasnt breathing as much, he may be right or maybe it was both) I recommend them incredibly and Im sure many others would as well ^·^

Have been wanting to add a couple of new tattoos lately and decided to try Artfully Insane because of the reviews I read. True to the reviews the staff was extremely helpful and friendly but once I showed them what I wanted I was placed in sticker shock over their pricing. Ive had a couple of tattoos in the past so I had an idea of what I should pay for what I wanted but after I was told what their pricing was like Ive decided to look elsewhere to get what I want done. I shouldnt have to pay one third of my paycheck for what I deemed a simple tattoo.

I go to Artfully Insane for all my tattoos and piercings. I always went to Body Art Emporium but after they closed most of them went and started this shop and I dont go anywhere else. I have gotten a lot of piercings here and never have I once gotten an infection or been dissatisfied with the work. When you get a piercing there you can feel comfortable knowing that its as sanitary as possible. My tattoo artist is Psycho and when I gave him my Louisville skyline tattoo idea he just went with it and made an amazing design and I love it. They keep a clean shop, which is important in this line of business. Theyll keep you entertained while youre there so youre not going to be getting tattooed in an awkward silence.

My Fiancé has been coming here for years and so I got a piece done there. Half my ink didnt stay, I got attitude from my artist 3 different times about how I got in touch with said person, just trying to set up a touch up appointment. Suffice to say Im willing to pay to have it basically finished by someone else so I dont have to deal with the sass.

Went to get my nostrils pierced and Doc didnt give me any information other than aftercare. I didnt know what kind of jewelry he was putting on me or what gauge. He didnt even show me what it was before hand. He also used an open packet to lubricate the needles and used a dirty pen to mark where he was piercing. On top of that its healing so much worse than anything Ive ever gotten before. Because he didnt give me a swell bar I have to get it fixed by another piercer. So it doesnt sink in. Its cheap here for a reason.

It had been years since I had gotten a piercing, & hadnt been to a piercing/tattoo parlor since leaving Michigan. I initially wanted to find jelwery to put in my conch, but had also gotten the urge to get pierced again outta no where. Artfully Insane had great reviews, so decided to stop by. Right when I walked in, Kevin, one of their piercers, greeted me, & was eager to assist me & answer any questions I had.After putting the new hoop in my conch, he patiently waited, while I mulled over what piercing I wanted. After we collaborated a bit, he ended up giving me 1 cartilage piercing, floating in the middle of the top part of each of my ears. He was so professional, curtious, & patient!I would absolutely recommend Artfully Insane, & I know Ill be going back!

I decided to get a double cartilage piercing on my right ear about four months ago. While I had a very positive experience with the actual piercing itself, I have had several problems with the after care of my piercing. They recommend using bactine to clean them and I did twice a day everyday. Now, my bottom hole is discharging yellow/green puss and is very swollen. I went to another piercer and they said to NEVER use bactine on a piercing. Being this is the only they recommend, I will not be thereagain.

I went yesterday to get a double nostril piercing and the artist that pierced my nose took me step by step of what he was doing and helped make light of the experience. all in all my piercing looks great and im very happy with it!!

I used navigation and found this place just fine, except for finding the parking. I passed the one lane entrance/exit thats beside it (not sure how much traffic there is for a tattoo and piercing shop, one lane is probably fine). However, I went around the side street, and parked in the back, no problem. Going in the first time felt like visiting someones home where the living room resembles a jewelry shop. The room in the back looked like a dental practice.Kevin was professional and appropriately germ-aphobic. He washed his hands in my presence, used paper towels and sanitary gloves, opened the sterile packet, overall sufficiently clean. He looked carefully to make sure there wouldnt be complications, had me take a deep breath and that was that. He explained how to care for a tongue piercing, and I paid at the end. Cool guy.Theres a small selection for gauging up. Im going to try internet shopping for wider variety.

Very passive aggressive and rude when asked for a walk in a appointment that was available until I asked for a flash tattoo. She said I needed to put more thought into my tattoos. Do they want money or would they rather judge customers?
