Ive been getting tattoos for 20 years now and for the last 20 years Ive gone to ArtFX. Mark and Dawn, the owners, are wonderful people and have a way of making you feel very comfortable. I wont go anywhere else.

Bad service website says open Sunday when you call some guy named Mark answers and is just rude. Drove an hour to get there to just see that they are closed when called back said no we are not open than hang up. Really if you dont phones calls dont answer your phone. So left and want to Carson Street tattoo very nice people does great work and was 200 cheaper than what mark quoted

Absolutely great experience! My girls drew my tattoo as it has meaning for us with a school tradition we do.They allowed my girls to come in with me and be apart of the process as well as ask questionsJon did it just like their drawing! I’ve been wanting to get this done for 2 years now and I’m glad I went here!Will definitely be going back !

I know quite a few people who were tattooed by Chy and was impressed with her work. Shop was clean, open and the other artists were friendly. Seemed like a family type atmosphere. Happy with the work she did. Will be going back for more.

Absolutely loved it, they did 3/4 of my tattoos. Atmosphere is soothing and they are all super mannered and professional. I love it there. Dawn did 2 of mine and then Luis did my fine line work on clavicle.

My daughter and I went in today to get tattoos and had the most wonderful experience. Great people, beautiful work, immaculate vibes. We couldnt be happier, and will definitely be back!

I got my first tattoo here and it was the best experience ever! Gasper is such a nice guy he understood I was nervous he kept asking if I was doing good but not only that the entire time we kept a conversation going which kept my mind busy. He took the time to draw up my tattoo and check with me if it was good and anything I wanted changed he went right away and did. He really cares about his work and customers. I will for sure go to him for all of my tattoos. His work is amazing the prices are reasonable!!!

Eric is an amazing artist. I went in with an idea (my Harry Potter house) and he formed it into some that I couldnt have come up with. He was easy to talk too and explained every step (even though this is my 4th tat) like I was a newbie. Answered every question and double/tripled checked all my colors. When I went back for my touch up appointment it was just as good; Id almost say that the tattoo turned out even better. Healed up beautifully and is absolutely perfect. Im proud to sport his art on my arm.Ill absolutely be back when I decide on my next tattoo. Thank you so much!

I have been going here for only three years, a friend of mine has gone for almost 10. Dawn has done almost all the work on my body, and I would never trust anybody else doing work on me. I went there once before prior to the past three years of work, at their old location, and even then (12 years ago) they were absolutely outstanding! Amazing environment; employees are personable, clients are cool, art in the studio is unique, personalized stations are amazing and really speak to the artists personality, and the work is amazing! I have never seen a piece come out of this place that wasnt a outstanding. I have seen other people who dont handle getting tattooed well, and the staff is extremely understandable and they work with you.Everybody who walks in gets treated like family, and the employees treat each other lile family.I have gotten a few of my 18 piercings here too and I have nothing but great things to say of them as well.Amazing husband wife combo! 5 out of 5!

Art FX is an incredible shop with great, highly skilled artists and I cant recommend them enough! I went to get my 14th tattoo and needed a new shop after moving. I found Art FX and, after speaking with Mark (one of the lead artists) about my idea, he laid out the process and said he would find which artist would be best for me. I was contacted by Eric Gasper a week later and he had taken my idea and brought it to life; exceeded my expectations for sure. Also, worth mentioning Im a type 1 diabetic, so getting tattoos can be tough with healing and the pain. They knew exactly how to proceed, set up a game plan for shorter sessions, and were great! I had my last session with Eric a few days ago and the tattoo is out of this world! Lastly, the prices were great for the high quality of work and professionalism youll get there! I will definitely be going back. Huge shout out to Eric for all his hard work! Whether its your first tattoo or 20th, youll be glad you picked Art FX!

ArtFX is the only place I will get inked. The artists are excellent and work with you until you get the exact look you want. The shop is extremely clean and the artists follow all cleanliness guidelines. Dawn is my artist of choice. Shes done 6 for me and theyre all special. All the artists have their own specialties so check out the website.

Couldnt have selected a better place. I would recommend this place to anyone. I would like to say that Chy is the best by far. So anyone looking for a great place to have your inking needs met, look no farther!!!

Gasper was AMAZING!! My tattoo came out perfectly!! I would post a picture but it is still healing. He is a great conversationalist too. He makes the entire process as smooth as a hot knife going through butter. Thanks Gasper!!

Zilla did a tattoo on my chest for me, I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted but I had an awkward blank spot. She helped me pick out my design and then proceeded to fix my other ones that would surround it as to make it all blend better. I have had many artists over the years do work on me and I am happy to say Zilla has been the best! Very professional with an eye for ink and placement!

Went back for a touch up of previous work which they honored for free. They stand behind their work and in this age its hard to find that. Got another tattoo which I was having a hard time seeing how itd be done. Eric freehanded my art work with a fishing lure I brought in and brought it to life. Amazing work

My wife has 2 tattoos from Art FX, and they are both outstanding works of art. This is honestly the nicest shop in Pittsburgh, and Ive been in several shops. They are very clean and orderly, but they dont give you the cold and unwelcome feeling in the pit of your stomach that youve more than likely gotten from other shops around. They are very friendly, inviting and professional at Art FX and I would recomend you at least stop by there before going anywhere else for a tattoo or a piercing.

Terrible shop, terrible owners. All of their good artists and piercer left a couple months ago, and the owners try to tell former clients that they quit tattooing all together in order to take their regulars. The owners of this shop steal and butcher original tattoos as well as steal artists original art work. They took a former artists original business card and scratched out his name, replacing it with their own. Id give them zero stars if I could and most of the positive reviews on here are about artists that left the shop.

I have been tattooed by almost everyone in the shop and they are all very friendly, professional, and do great detailed work. They all take their time getting your tattoo exactly how youd like it. Thank you!

I have been going to ArtFX for 5 years now. All 10 of my tattoos have been done by Jon, and they are all amazing . The shop is very clean, and the staff are all so nice and helpful! I would definitely recommend this tattoo shop to anyone!

Even though the last reviews of this place where not great I decided to go instead . If 0 Stars was an option I would give zero. Terrible experience. Went here because Ive had family members that have had good work done here. But I will never come back. I went as a walk in. the door says they open at noon I went about 12:30 on rainy Saturday. There was one person waiting. The only person that worked was there was a mess. And said that there was no tattoo artist even there until 3. Why does the door say noon? Why does your website advertise walk-ins? I asked to look for a portfolio of the artists and I was told that I could go on Facebook or Instagram. Why?Why is there no book to look at while youre there? Im getting something done permanently on my body and I want to pick an artist that I like their work . I was willing to wait as a walk-in I understood that but I wasnt going to wait 3 hours to even wait for a person to walk in the door to listen to my idea. So they definitely lost my business and my recommendations to all my friends that get tattoos. I went to the South side and instead and went to Kyklops, their shop is much cleaner, and professional, and their website is accurate they do take walk-ins I recommend that place instead.

Very professional, and everyone did a great job at calming my nerves as I got my first tattoo. Eric did my tattoo, he was welcoming, funny, and did a great job!

I got my first tattoo here and I was a nervous wreck, but then as soon as I sat down with Dawn it was awesome! She definitely knows how to make customers comfortable and the tattoo looks tight!

DO NOT GET YOUR PIERCINGS HERE. End of story. They messed up my lip so bad I couldnt keep it in for more than a day and I have had my lip pierced before. It was painful AND done wrong. They then said it was normal when I contacted them. Please dont put yourself through this. I have went before and loved it but not this last time. They have changed.

Very dedicated staff that take pride in the work they do. Had a 30 year old tattoo retouched and it looked better than the original one. I intend to return to have to have more work done on my other arm.

I’ve been hesitant to post a review, this was my first experience with a new artist. I hate my tattoo. It looks like a giant bruise on my side, and some of the black didn’t take. I’ve never been so close to tears during a tattoo either (i have 5 ) and my god it hurt, the artist had such a heavy hand and it shows in the work. I won’t be back.

They are and always will always be top tattoo artists this side of PA!! Super talented! Also keep in mind that a few of the recent negative reviews came from ex disgruntled employees!

Luis did my hand and 2 days later it feels great. Love the vibe of the whole shop lots of great art all around.

Got my nipples pierced here and the chick that did them was very nice and professional and I left there feeling pretty happy about the whole thing....Fast forward to almost a full year later, everything has healed nicely n didnt have any problems with that... but as I started looking into changing my barbells.. I come to find out she used a 16G! All the 14G jewlery I have just bought is now useless (eventho most nipples are done with a 14G!).She never told me what gage she used when I got them done or why she went with the smaller gage. Now I am very disappointed because it is very hard to find decent nipple jewlery in a 16G. Lesson learned I guess..

Dawn was great. I already had a design in mind but she tweaked it just enough to make it pop. I have plans for another here soon. Great place!

Ive been going to Art F/X for over 20 yrs that in its self speaks respect. I went a few years not getting any work but when I went back it felt like family to me. I dont go anywhere else and have no problem showing people my art work.

Mike did henna on me and two friends for prom. It looks great, and he charged very reasonably!

Excellent shop, good work. Ask for John, he was spectacular, although I imagine, you couldnt go wrong with anyone there.

I called for assistance and the women on the phone was extremely rude and did not listen to what I needed. She was not helpful and didnt even try to find a solution for me. I would not recoomend anyone to go somewhere with such horrible customer service.
