I have gotten a couple tattoos from Dahlia and am always so impressed and happy with the outcome. Dahlia is an amazing artist who always makes sure that you love what you are getting. Every time Ive gotten a tattoo from her, she makes sure that I am comfortable, which is so nice! Dahlia really just makes the entire tattoo experience so positive. I totally recommend this place!

Dahlia has been an absolute dream to work with! She reconstructed an original tattoo from 8 years ago and transformed it into a beautiful floral partial sleeve. She also tattooed an amazing mountain from my favorite book series above my knee. She is always so patient, kind, and helpful when it comes to the tattooing process! I’ve been going to Black Cat for many years, and Jason Lambert is absolutely the man to go to for Japanese in Pittsburgh. While you may have to wait a little while on the waitlist to get the first session on a piece, Jason and Kara (the shop manager) work hard to keep you on the schedule for frequent sessions to get through big pieces once Jason starts it. I highly recommend this shop!

Dahlia is one of the best tattoo artists in the area, hands down!! My partner & I both have 2 tattoos from her and are planning on several more! Besides the amazing work, Dahlia truly prioritizes her clients. She creates a comfortable & inclusive environment that makes each session a breeze! Ridiculously beautiful work by Dahlia. She is super nice and was really helpful in explaining every little thing to me and helping me make decisions on placement! Probably the cleanest lines and most talented artist I’ve seen in Pittsburgh. Lots of very cool and unique flash to pick from. She also made sure I was comfy the whole time and we had a great chat. Already planning what other tattoos I can get from her! 100/10 seriously just look at that.

I got my first tattoo on 10/22 by Jason Lambert at Black Cat Tattoo. I had been researching designs for traditional Japanese tattoos and artists who for 2 years. All of the information I found said to go Black Cat. When I finally decided on some design ideas I went to Jason for an initial meeting. Jason and everyone at Black Cat was extremely friendly and welcoming. Jason was on the same wave length as me and I was confident he was the right person for the job. The day of the tattoo Jason and I discussed basic ideas again, I told him I wanted a cloud background with kitsune and Sakura. Jason began by outlining a design on my arm and it was awesome watching him work. When I saw it coming together I was amazed. The design Jason came up with on the spot was so much better than anything I found on Pinterest. When he finished the outline of the drawing he gave me time to look at it from every angle. He made it clear that he was perfectly fine if I wanted to make any changes to his design. Since his artwork was perfect I got situated to begin tattooing. He eased my mind by saying if at any time I needed a break to let him know. I ended up not needing a break and he completed the outline in one sitting. Not only did he do excellent tattoo work it was great talking with him during the process. At the end I felt like I owed him one fee for the tattoo and I should pay an additional fee for a conversation regarding Zen Buddhism. It was like a lecture from a professor at Harvard. I had very high expectations for my first tattoo experience and Jason and everyone at Black Cat far exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them to anyone who would like a tattoo. You can be fully confident in getting what you want and being treated like an old friend while you are there. I can’t wait for my next session and the many more to follow.

I got my second tattoo after years of contemplating, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Black Cat Tattoo was very responsive, organized and clean. Luke is a talented tattoo artist and very attentive, professional and precise. He took his time to understand what I was looking for and delivered. If I ever decide to get another tattoo I’ll go back and see Luke.

I think my first piece dinner by Jason. He gave me an awesome piece as my first ever tattoo and was really chill during the entire process. My only complaint is that I had no idea when to expect art and I didnt get it until the night before. It was beautiful on the first go, but I wish I knew what it looked like with a bit more notice. Thats my only complaint

I had been wanting a tattoo of a black cat for a few years but just had not gotten around to it for whatever reasons despite it being something super simple. I was in Pittsburgh just for the Marathon. When I saw Black Cat Tattoo I looked up reviews and finally decided… no time like the present. After explaining my extremely limited time frame I was thrilled with how kind they were to work me into an already full schedule. Professional, well established shop and clean. They made me feel welcome and comfortable.

Ive been going to Black Cat Tattoos for about seven years now. I cant express how much I love and appreciate this group of artists. Extremely clean, welcoming, and talented group of artists.They do have a long list of clients which means you might have to schedule your appointment a few months in advance, but thats just a testament to the quality of their work.Black Cat is a fantastic tattoo shop. Jason and company are great people and do great work. Could not recommend any higher!

Within the last two weeks, I got two tattoos done by Trevor. Before each tattoo, we exchanged a number of emails in order to make sure we were both on the same page, which was great. Trevor isn’t the kind of tattoo artist to pressure you into getting something or to make you feel guilty for asking for modifications after he completes a drawing; I was really released by this because unfortunately, there seems to be so much of that in the city. He spent time making sure that my new tattoos complimented my existing one, and he was really easy to communicate with.The shop is clean, and everyone who works there seems to be super sweet. I like that when you initially come in and discuss what you’re hoping for, the artists talk about who would be best for the artwork that’s being sought out; so if you go here, you’re going to have a tattoo artist who feels super confident in whatever work they’re doing, which again, is great because there are other tattoo artists who take on jobs that aren’t necessarily their specialty, and that’s evident when the tattoo is done.I’ve already gotten a lot of compliments on my pieces, and several friends plan to make Black Cat their next spot for their future tattoos. I highly recommend them :)

Amazing work! Cara was professional and walked me through the entire procedure. Her designs are elegant and her lines are clean and crisp! I will definitely go back to have her tattoo me again! You wont regret it!

The first time I worked with Cara was about a year ago. I wanted a medical piece to honor my mom and also honor my love for the field. I was very particular about what I wanted, but also let Cara take artistic freedom. I told her what I wanted and she was able to produce a beautiful piece (and she helped me with placing it and I love where it is). It’s honestly so amazing and I love looking at it everyday. They run a clean, beautiful shop and definitely worth taking a look.

Was looking for a studio to do a traditional Japanese-style piece and happened upon Black Cat, and Im so glad that I did. Everyone at the studio is great to work with and made the process a breeze. In addition, the studio was very clean and welcoming.Jason was very thorough in explaining the process from start to finish and was awesome to work with. Did my initial outline session so far, and Im looking forward to going back and finishing the rest (and planning future pieces).

We were out celebrating our wedding anniversary and getting a tattoo together was something we have talked about for years! Well we decided to call and see if there was ANY possibility Cara was available....and she just happened to have some extra time. Its my second piece of artwork from Cara and I absolutely LOVE it. She is amazing and the whole atmosphere keeps you coming back. I 1,000% recommend Black Cat Tattoo

I really cant recommend this place enough. Each artist is extremely talented, kind, and patient. Whats more, the artist who was going to do my tattoo was upfront about it not being her style, so she didnt feel comfortable doing it. I know so many artists who wouldve just done a bad job and taken my money. Instead, they offered me my deposit back. Cara, Jason, and I talked and planned for about an hour and they were both so nice about it. I ended up getting a great tattoo by Jason, who is a wonderful artist and great conversationalist with lots of experience. 10/10 would/will return.

Ive been coming to see the Black Cat Tattoo crew for a long time - dating back 15 years or so. Ive never left disappointed. Jason is currently working on my sleeve which is a specialty of his; Japanese styles. Dont go anywhere else!
