Kyklops Tattoo

Recently had a tattoo done by Porter at Pittsburghs TattooMania and i couldnt be happier. Great to work with, gave great advice and made sure I was doing okay throughout the whole process. Would absolutely have him as an artist again.

My wife and I have been coming to Kyklops for the better part of a decade. We both get tattooed by Erin Hosfield. I simply can not say enough good things. All of our tattoos from Erin have remained vibrant and beautiful with clean lines that age extremely well. Ive included just a small selection of her work here. She is a true artist. My wife has some water color, black and grey, and I have a cover up (exquisitly executed), a variety of styles of tattooing from her as well. I could go on and on but her work speaks for itself.As for the shop:The shop is extremely well maintained and is welcoming and inviting. There are multiple artists here, and I cant recall ever having seen a single tattoo i wouldnt be happy to have on me leave the shop. I work in the medical field and have rarely seen a cleaner and more professionally run facility. EVERY needle (and other items that come in contact with you) is single person use packaged and are quickly disposed of following use. All of the artists clean using hospital grade cleaning wipes or sprays with appropriate cleaning techniques.Ive been tattooed by many artists in Pittsburgh and have stayed with Erin for good reason.A+ shop, A+ artists.

I love the aesthetics of the Kyklops shop (very clean and professional as well) and every tattooing experience Ive had there has been awesome. All of my tattoos so far have been from Trevor. Hes kind and comes off as a guy with a lot of integrity and most importantly, his work is super solid. I always get compliments on how clean and vibrant my tattoos are. I look forward to getting pieces from more Kyklops artists in the future.

Fantastic tattoo shop, all around! Everyone that works there that I’ve encountered has been great, the place is full of good artists.I had my first tattoo done by Jess Scutella a few months ago and have been back 6 or 7 times since then for work for both myself and my wife. I can’t recommend him enough, he’s a wonderful artist and is genuinely great to talk to and work with. Whatever style or work you need, he’ll sort you out.The shop itself is easy to find, clean, etc, all the things you’d want. If you’re looking for a solid tattoo shop full of good artists and people, this is it.

David Montoya is amazing, takes great care in his work and is the man when it comes to realism! His light touch also makes the process WAY less painful than artists iv had in my past. Everybody there is just great and friendly and make you feel right at home. I highly recommend them and will never use another shop again. Thank you David, Jess and Evan! You are all the best!

Jeff did an amazing job on my tattoo. It was my first and he was very patient and professional and is an amazing artist.

Highly recommend! Its s super cool shop! I exclusively see Trevor and he does a really fantastic job. He makes sure I get exactly what I want, his work is gorgeous and heald beautifully! Bonus: he has a light touch! I cant wait for my next appointment -- already on the books! Kyklops is one of my favorite tattoo shops in Pittsburgh and Id gladly recommend them to anyone. Ive been inked there four times and am going back later this month (February 2024).

The shop was exceptionally clean and all of the employees were very knowledgeable on tattoo safety and care. Jess and Porter were awesome. I called in to see if they could fit five of us in at the same time and Porter was incredible helpful and friendly. I love Kyklops. I have been coming here for a decade and have been tattooed by many of the artists, past and present.All of the artists are incredibly talented and all around good people. Ive never had a bad experience. I always recommend them when people ask where to go for a tattoo.

I generally don’t leave reviews but Kyklops is awesome. I would not hesitate to recommend them to you, even you’re a first timer with piercings or tattoos. Their staff is friendly, their work is quality, and it’s so comforting to be in the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing!

This place from the beginning made my experience awesome! I went to Trevor which I highly recommend. Very professional and patient. I get so many compliments on my forearm tattoo and how clean it is. I will be back for more!

It’s been a few years since my last tattoo so I was a little nervous but Trevor was incredible!! I wanted to combine a couple different things so I sent him some pictures and he came up with a design that was absolutely perfect. He’s super personable and made the process as easy as possible! I will definitely be going back to him to get more...also just love the atmosphere there and the whole staff is great. Can not recommend this place enough!

I completely trusted Pete and he did a great job adding color and fixing up one of mine. I am very happy with it. His traditional styled tattoos are incredible. He is a hell of an artist and an equally good dude. Offered suggestions and advice on things like scale, color, placement, etc. We both got exactly what we wanted.We will definitely be back. Very happy with my bridge piercing that i got done here! the piercer was super helpful and was patient when i asked a ton of questions lol. super sweet staff and great pricingedit: my bridge piercing is now completely healed and i had very little pain at all through the entire process. it looks amazing!!!!!

I have been getting tattooed at this shop by the same artist for almost ten years, and also had a second (stacked) septum piercing performed here. I have never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome by artists or staff. The shops policies regarding covid have been incredibly professional and safe, and the shop always looks and smells clean.

I have had multiple experiences with the folks at Kyklops. Erin is an absolutely incredible artist, she did a side piece for me and one on my wrist as well. The piercing staff is also great! Very knowledgable shop. I recommend them to everyone because they have artists that are masters of all different styles

I have several of my tattoos from Kyklops. Jess Scutella, Pete Larkin and Derrick Porter are all very personable, professional and friendly people. Pete and Jess definitely go out of their way to make you you feel super comfortable while they are tattooing you. Both of my tattoos healed perfectly. I also recommend Daria for piercings. She’s open and honest about if she thinks a specific piercing will work for the area size. I highly recommend going to Kyklops for any tattoo or piercing needs!

I absolutely love this shop. I was holding off my sleeve tattoo until I came across the right artist, and that artist is Jess Scutella. From the consultation to the first session he was super friendly, has a great sense of humor, is professional and always made feel super comfortable. I came to him with my idea and I was blown away when he showed me what he came up with, I’m looking forward to my next session every day. Jess, you rock! 10/10.

I will never EVER go to any shop other than this one!! This place is great & clean, everyone Ive met who works there is very knowledgeable and very very friendly. Ive checked out other shops in the area and other places seem filthy compared to Kyklops. I am honestly lucky to have found them. They have been tattooing and modifying my body for the past 5-6 years. Almost everyone who currently works there have put in work on me and I have never been disappointed. If you want to be tattooed or pierced in a clean & safe environment, do yourself a favor and go to this shop. You will not get better service anywhere else!!!

Ive had 2 different tattoos done by 2 different artists (Erin & Pete) at Kyklops and very pleased with my experience with both. The shop is clean and tastefully decorated. The artists and friendly, knowledgeable, and from my experience all excel at different styles of tattoos. Im sure that if you were looking for a particular styled design someone at Kyklops would be able to meet and exceed your needs.

Gave me a misspelled tattoo then realized he gave false contact info when i called back to have this mistake fixed and they never replied. called the shop and all i was told was to contact the artist directly with the info on the business card.. the invalid phone number and email?

I promised Joe that I would give him an excellent Google review a few months ago when I got my tattoo. Finally, here it is! I went in to get an old tattoo covered up. It was relatively small on my chest near the left shoulder. As with all cover-ups it was a challenge, but Joe stepped right up and produced an excellent design. The new tattoo covers the old one so completely youd never know it was there. The greatest part of my experience was that Joe seemed genuinely excited to work with me on the concept. I totally whined the whole way through the tattoo, and he still managed to make it awesome despite my whining.My girlfriend and I both got work done there. Jason did a great job on hers. While we were there (each of our tattoos took over 2 hours), we saw many other tattoos in progress. Every tattoo I saw come out of that shop was brilliant.As one other reviewer noted, children are not allowed in the shop, and with good reason. The place is small and can get crowded if all of the artists are at work. Having a kid there - even a well-behaved kid - would be dangerous both to the child and the adults getting tattoos. The place was very clean and professional. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a quality tattoo.

I got my nose pierced by Daria. The place was very clean and neat! She was so relaxing and knowledgeable. The piercing was quick and not that painful. After she put the jewelry, I cant even tell my piercing is there! Definitely will be coming back!

I went here for my first tattoo with two friends. Really great experience with Lindsey. Shes a great artist and the entire shop is clean and friendly. I could see where some reviewers feel its overpriced Even I was not in the best budgeting situation, but i would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a clean and beautiful tattoo.

Have been worked on by Richie and Pete and they have done some great tattoos on myself and many of my friends. Professional and knowledgeable of not only the artform, but safety procedures as well. This place is great. I unfortunately couldn’t afford my tattoo because I am just beginning my life as an independent woman. However, the staff was super personable and understanding. They also have great artists. One day I hope I can get a dope tattoo from here.

Ive had two multi session pieces done by Erin and she did a great job on both of them. Everyone who works at the studio is really friendly and made the whole process of getting a tattoo easy.

I went to Kyklops for two little tattoos, one small on my arm, Roman numerals of my birthday, and the other a Arabic phrase down my spine. It wasn’t very simple and there was nothing extra, I didn’t even get the Roman numerals shaded in and they charged me $350! They did a decent job on the one on my back but the one on my arm was not good. Never going there again. They do a decent job but there are mistakes, even with my friends tattoo on her back they did.

Great experience for my first earlobe piercings! Daria was super helpful for everything! She also asked about my preferred name and pronouns when she was putting me in the system. Ill definitely be returning for more piercings in the future!

Kat is so amazing!!!!!!!! I am so thankful i got pierced by her, she really made it feel super comfortable, i got my nipples pierced and i was for sure nervous walking in but she made it so pleasant and she was such a welcoming soul!!! definitely recommend :-)

Very very overpriced and low quality. got a tattoo from Erin and it is not filled in well at all. it looks crusty and took only like 10 minutes, i probably paid over 3 times what I should have for the simple, poorly done design

My girlfriend and I walked into Kyklops just to ask about prices and a few other questions. She ended up leaving with a tattoo and I scheduled an appointment for a couple days later. We couldnt be happier. Everybody there was extremely professional, helpful, and the artists are fantastic.Greg Paradis was my artist. I was blown away by the work he did.We would recommend Kyklops to anyone, and well definitely be back.

I traveled rather far for 2 very small touch up tattoos & was quoted an estimate over the phone. Got there & the price was about double did not want to pay it, but had already drove an hour. Then offered to give them a s/o on Instagram because I was told the last bigger artist didnt. But when I said lets do it, it seemed like an issue. My guy trevor that did the tattoo was cool. Hope he keeps his word about honoring his work I called last week havent received a response. Nice place though. Piercings down stairs, tattoos upstairs. Clean & In a nice area.

Just got my tragus pierced here and honestly, this is one of the most laid back and kind piercing/tattoo shops ive ever been to. youre paying a reasonable amount for customer care and the quality of jewelry you receive. my good friend also got her ears pierced here and only has positive things to relay. please give these good people business if youre considering a piercing!

Got a conch piercing and Daria was great! She is very knowledgeable and kind. She helped me match up jewelry with my current piercing and modified my conch exactly how I wanted. However, about a month later, the ball at the end of the conch was being pulled into my earlobe so I went to get a longer post only to find that the original post was so tiny it was barley even the width of my earlobe let alone with room for swelling. Now I have a large sore in my ear from where the ball was being pulled in. Also, I was told that a conch must first be done with a post and once healed can be switched to a hoop (I wanted a hoop), but then was told by other piercer that a hoop will be fine. So who knows what the answer is, but it’s annoying that it’s not consistent.

Every time I have come here everyone has been nothing but nice! I’ve gotten quite a few pieces from Jess Scutella. I drive almost two hours just to get work from him because of his professionalism and friendliness. He has amazing custom work and I recommend him to everyone I know.

I have been to Kyklops several times and have always had great service (Erin is an amazing artist and has done several of my pieces) in a comfortable and clean atmosphere. All of the staff are friendly and engaging. Highly recommended.

Second time Ive been here in the past month. this time I brought my mom for a mother daughter tattoo. We both went to Erin and did a walk in. Yet again just a great experience and Im planning on going again very soon.

I visited Kyklops (same pronunciation as the mythical creature) today and was quite impressed with the shop and friendly staff. Joe Thompson did a wonderful job with my design and made sure that I was completely satisfied before leaving. Ill be returning to Kyklops when needing more work done in the future.

What a joke! A friend and I went in to get small matching tattoos (we’re talking thumbnail size). The guy approaches us and asks us how much we want to spend. I asked if they had a shop minimum to which he said no. He proceeds to tell us that a small tattoo like the heart outline that we wanted would cost between 120-150. We left and went down the street to south side tattoo and received awesome tattoos for half the price.

I went to Pittsburgh to find a very reputable piercer and I found one here! I spoke with Daria who was a wealth of knowledge. She was extremely nice ad helpful and made the entire experience very comfortable. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone! I plan on returning! Thanks agin

I made an appt. for a time to come in to Kyklops on Friday the 13th. I dont live near Southside and parking is a poison. I showed up and was told that she was almost done. After waiting in the waiting room over an hour past the time we agreed upon, my phone died. Well, she takes me back and makes no effort to apologize for the wait and gets started with the tattoo. (A flash that shed drawn.) After the tattoo, they quote me at $150. Plus I gave a $20 tip. $170 total. No problem, thats the price she quoted when Id made the appointment. Well, I get home that night and it turns out that theyd put a special on their social media account, $13 off any tattoo that day! She wanted to keep the extra $13 for whatever reason. Which again, is no problem, (normally) but the customer service was sub par and she was kinda condescending so... I write on their account that Id had no clue they were having a sale? What did they do? They deleted the picture that I commented on. Just. Shady.

Had a great experience at this shop! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming which made a good experience even better. Richie took my extremely vauge idea and made a playful and awesome tattoo that I am in love with, I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for some good work!

Im going to give this place 3 stara because it was very clean and laid out very well, buts thats where my praise for this place ends.Ive been in here on two separate occasions, one to set up a tattoo appointment for my boyfriend and I, and the other to look and talk about new plugs. I was driven away from this place with incredibly rude comments and condecending attitudes both times.The tattoos we were trying to schedule were WAY overpriced for what they were and we were talked down to the entire time. The artists we were trying to schedule with also seemed like they had better things to do than try to make a good impression on two people that could potentially be lifetime customers.THEN, even with the bad feeling in my gut that I was going to be treated like garbage , I walked through the door to look at some new plugs to stretch up with. I only had about 45 dollars with me that day because I wasnt fully thinking I was going to be shopping around. I didnt really see anything I was in love with and wasnt about to spend it all on something I disnt really think I wanted. Well, I said I wasnt really interested this moment and may come back in the future for a couple pairs and was automatically attacked with a nasty attitude. Im not sure if her goal was to make me feel bad or make me feel unwelcome there, but she did a great job doing both.After having poor experiences both upstairs and downstairs Im not willing to give them a third chance.

Would not go there again. I regret being a passive person,I feel I was taken advantage of. I went to get a tattoo there and picked out an hour glass that had a skull silhouette I didnt want it real big or anything my budget was $150 . The guy told me that he could either do a skull or a bigger really cool hour glass. All said and done I was in the chair for a half hour and ended up with a small less than standard hour glass that with a stencil I couldve done just as good of job with the tattoo gun I bought on eBay. Then my dumb ass gave a $15 dollar tip. I just feel I was cheated,I mean $150 dollars for a half hour and he said it would be bigger and cooler if I didnt get the skull,yet it is smaller than the original picture. I gotta start complaining! Definitely will not go back!

Decided to get a tattoo while traveling in Pittsburgh. The shop owner was so helpful and helped us work with our budget. I was tattooed by Yanki and he did such an amazing job!

I called to make an appointment, the first time they were nice, but after I emailed, I never got an answer, I decided to call again 3 days later and the tattoo manager said he would call me back in the same day to see if someone could do my tattoo, never got a call I called the next day about 5 times and they never answered. When I called at the time they did answer, the receptionist had a very bad attitude, overall did not like the expirence

Honestly one of the greatest tattoo shops in Pittsburgh. The artists are friendly and flexible. The pricing is fair and the tattoo shop has a great vibe. Absolutely love this place!

I think this place is just plain old awesome. A great selection of tattoo artists, having been tattoed and pierced here over the passed 5 years. Id highly recommend stopping if youre looking for a new tattoo.

I was offended and will never do business with these people. It all started off when my beautiful wife, beautiful 5 month old daughter and I decided to take a stroll on a sunny day in the South Side. My wife wanted to see if it was possible for her to get a cover up or a fix on a tattoo that she recieved years ago so we figured what better place is there to found out than E. Carson St. We stopped in a couple places; got some opinions,got some ideas and made Kyklops our last stop before heading home. As soon as we walked in and asked for an artist to look at my wifes tattoo; the young woman told us that there studio is on the second floor and children are not welcomed. Apparently this young woman never had proper training growing up and should not treat people like this. Because of her ignorance we decided to go with Travis at (Rogue Tattoo) in Laweranceville. Im also going to get my first tattoo and combined we will be paying close to $1500. I hope the owners of Kyklops read this and change the way there staff greets new clients.

Had my first couple tattoos done in a trailer, deffinately better than that horrid accident! The dudes in there are super super great funny and nice. Ask for Joe Thompson, hes great. TOLD YOU ID POST THIS JOE! :p

Big mistake.. This man is puting what he wants on peoples bodies without asking them first, Ive read other reviews to back my incident with him up.Okay Ive gone to Kyklopes for almost all of my tattoo. Ive gone and only trusted Erin to do my work. That said, she wasnt in one day when I needed to stop in and get a very small correction/coverup done and made the HUGE mistake of allowing Richie Stutler to make this SMALL coverup.That said, he created a very small add on and assured me the colors he was going to use were all the exact same. (Considering it takes time for colors to settle and match new work).This is where the nightmare begins... As he was beginning to finish up I looked down at my foot and said why is that add on mini flowers completely diffident in color then then the rest of the mini flowers? He proceeds to say oh those are the EXACT SAME colors as the original work shades dont worry. If in a couple weeks it doesnt settle and all match come back and lets talk.That shouldnt been enough of a red flag no NOT go back to him, but my kind heart did anyway..Well it gets worse. I go back and its months later, clearly to colors hadnt matched at ALL and we discussed now changing the rest of the mini flowers to now match his darker flower he mistakenly added so they can all finally match. So he ruined all of my original work that the 100,000 x better artist Erin did for me. So Im noticing hes pulling out this EVEN DARKER brown that looks almost RED?! I said to him, there are only lavenders, yellows and grays that Red or whatever youre calling it is TOO DARK! He says ohhh nooo, this is the exact same shade I used last time on you ! He also said all the same stuff of last times incident that itll lighten up and this is the only color he could have used period. Now his sweet low voice box seems innocent, but his many incidents hes crossed people the wrong way doesnt make him sweet nor innocent because hes a liar and the tattoo devil. I looked down again after he completed his second time around fixing skills and noticed there were RED circles around each flower and they now were all ruined. He sits there with this dumb look on his face like hes confused to why Im upset and doesnt say hes sorry that the colors are wrong, he added shading that he doesnt ask the client first if its ok to do...this crazy man just does what he wants as if its his own body and not permanently on someone elses. I asked him why he didnt ask about the circles and he said they were also there previously. This man literally just makes stuff up and lies. I even showed him a picture I took after his first mistake last time and said where do you see red circles at on here? He says nothing and says can he cover it up with bandage now! Im like you do what you want on people all the time and think its ok? Shading of his choice and doesnt care what he messes up on someone ! This guy is going to mess with the wrong person one day and no wonder why he only takes walk-ins.... I seriously think he has something wrong with him because his behaviors and actions just arent normal or okay. This shop wont get rid of him because they use him for all the unwanted jobs of the business and problem a family member of someones.I also had an appt that day with Erin for a whole other new tattoo plan and I was so discouraged and distraught that even the manager mentioned to me that Erin didnt feel like doing new tattoo was going to happen today to come back another day because she heard me upset and nicely defending myself about Richies incident I was calm and to the point with this man and I guess because they all side with one another, the client/customer was wrong !!!!!!!To everyone out there. Ive since went home and read reviews, and this is all of Richies habits that he does to many other people and Im astonished and sick over this. Beware of him guys!

As long as I am close to Pittsburgh I will go here. I got three amazing tattoos here so far. Love the artists work here so much I am planning on taking my niece here for her first tattoo (with her mother there).

I love my tattoos from Pete and my jewelry/piercings from Daria. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful when I go in and Im getting my next tattoo at Kyklops in 2 weeks.

I went try to get a tattoo & not only did they not want to take my black money but they were quoting prices back & fourth to me that was totally over priced while laughing like it was funny! They got upset b/c I decided to shop around & when I came back they decided to raise the price again! Sad to say but I will never ever go back to this shop again for anything!

The lady at the desk, with green hair, was very pretentious and rude. There is a difference between being knowledgeable and being condescending. Anyways, I ended up going to SIX16 Body Piercing and they were able to help me out.

I went in for a navel piercing. The piercer and assistant were very thorough and accommodating. It was reasonably priced and the shop is cute af.

Darya did a great job with my ear (conch) piercing and my daughters earlobes. Ill definitely return for any future piercings.

I made an appointment for a cover up consultation and I was told to come out on Sunday. When I got there I was very rudely turned away because they didnt have time for me even though I was told I could come that day in advance. The staff here is rude and after I drove an hour to come here I was told to leave because I didnt have an appointment when someone at that shop told me to stop by. My inconvenience was met with rudness and thats a terrible way to treat a paying customer.
