I wanted to share my experience. I had a review up about my first tattoo I don’t know if I accidentally deleted my review but I wanted to share my tattoo experience with Veronica. I really like her a lot she did a good job with my first tattoo and she is very nice and funny. When I get a tattoo for now on I will always have Veronica do my tattoos. Just today I came for my cartilage piercing and Dan did my piercing. He is very nice guy and he gives very good information about the aftercare about your piercing. He also makes sure you are comfortable and asks if you have any other questions about your piercing before you leave. I do highly recommend for your piercing or tattoo needs to come here. I had a review before about my experience but I must have deleted by mistake I don’t see it anywhere but I wanted to give a good review about this place. Also the receptionists that work here are very nice as well and very helpful. This place makes me feel welcome and I do appreciate Veronica and her staff. Thank you

Me and good friend went in today on a random occasion to get our nipples pierced. The lady when we walked in was so welcoming and friendly and made sure that she answered all of our questions while still assisting other customers. Soon after we were both greeted by a gentleman (I didn’t catch his name cause I was so nervous) that was also very friendly, informative and he also answered all of our questions before proceeding with our piercings. Needless to say me and my friend both left satisfied and we will surely be back for other piercings and tattoos!

Ive first met Jewel and she gave me 1st and 2nd piercing (eyebrow and tongue), back in 2007 or so?? Cant recall exact year. She was so nice 👍🏽 and than I met Dan (I call him Dan the Man) 😄. He pierced my septum in beginning of 2021 and in 2023 had to re- pierced the previous hole from taking it out for surgery at the hospital 🏥 (doctors rules). And I thinking about getting more septum earrings ~barbells about 2-3 , so I can change them randomly 👍🏽😄🙆🏽. Think 🤔 Ill go to Southside tattoo today Monday 9/23/2024.👍🏽

Got a new piercing here yesterday done by Morgan. She is probably the nicest piercer Ive interacted with. She was patient and very good about making it a comfortable situation. She also answered my silly questions and made sure I was completely good before leaving. Will definitely be returning. Great Experience. Will be recommending her to others.

I have been looking around to get a few ear piercings (double helix, daith, and some lobes) and my cousin recommended this shop for me. Very fair pricing and excellent service. Everyone was very kind, and my experience (especially that of getting 8 piercings at once) was very calm and well done. I will be coming back to get a few more in a couple of months, and I highly recommend Dan as your piercer. Nice guy and great at making sure you are well informed. Could not be more happy with the outcome!

I’ve been going here for more than a year now and realized I haven’t written a review. I’ve gotten 4 of my 6 tattoos here and have honestly never had one single complaint. From quality of the tattoos, to the friendliness of the staff. Everything here is great. I can not recommend them enough. If you’re ever looking for a tattoo in the Pittsburgh area check them out.

Went here to get my nose re-pierced and my one ear lobe re-opened. Morgan was super sweet and comforting throughout my process. Thank you so much for making me feel more at ease about getting it done again! I will definitely come see you again if I decide to get my Daith done.

My twin daughters aged 6, got ear lobes pierced here. I was not sure what to expect and was apprehensive but it was a pleasant experience. Just some details that may help anxious parents that may have custom to do ear piercings. When we walked in, we were greeted by a lady at reception desk, who was nice and showed us the studs and hoops in 14k gold. We chose studs. She then gave paper work that we signed. We were given post piercing care instructions paper and asked to wait for the piercing artist. The artist came in just few minutes, he made the setup ready, marked the ears with a dot where the piercing would be done and proceeded with disinfecting the ear lobes and used a NEEDLE to pierce(yay needle and not a gun), and set the studs. Numbing gel was used during piercing and that must have helped the kids not feel pain. The piercing artist seemed a man of few words but he helped with all of our questions. Its been 3 days post piercing and my kids are doing good. You may call them ahead and ask if you have any questions. Good luck!

Brandon did my cover-up yesterday. I wish I had a before pic, but I dont. I didnt even think what I received could have ever covered up what I had. Im so pleased and happy with it. I was and still am beyond words. What I had was a black heart with a name in it, in all black! He did amazing and Will be back for more work.

Brandon did a fantastic job on my 412 map of the city tattoo. Great attention to detail, easy to work with, and entertaining to talk to for several hours. The tattoo is also healing beautifully with very little scabing or shedding and minimal itch. Its definitely my best tattoo healing wise. I will have him finish the rest of my Pittsburgh sleeve for sure.

I had gotten my tongue pierced here and the ladies were super helpful and i absolutely love my piercing!!! i was so scared it was going to be crooked but they know they are doing here and i would absolutely come here for more piercings!!!! 10/10 love y’all so much

This tattoo is very meaningful to me. Veronica is amazing and she knew how important this was to me and she went above and beyond my expectation and I absolutely love it! Thank you so much Veronica. My favorite place to get pierced. I got my nose done and it wasn’t too painful. I stupidly took my nose ring out too soon, so I went back to the shop and turned out my hole closed in the middle. The one guy pierced it again and only charged me $15. I want to come again to get more piercings. Very friendly staff.

Went to Southside piercing & tatoo with some coworkers. We called ahead to a few places to see if they could accommodate a group 5-7. This is the only shop that returned out phone call.Though intimidating for some on a busy street, parking was easier than expected with plenty of open electronic meter spots.All of the staff members were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend for a group! 4 of us got 1 or more piercings, one got a tattoo, and another spectated for moral support. We had a lot of fun.I had an issue a few days after where my daith ring fell out. I was super nervous about it closing, not being able to get the earring back in, and I had spent a little more for the gold upgraded package. Southside P&T had excellent customer service!! They took me right in, looked at it and said the clasp was broken and apologized. She put a new one in for me free of charge and it was super quick no waiting!Loved it & definitely recommend!!

I got my snake bites done here because it was one of the only shops that would pierce my lip at 14. I got them done at separate times, the first side by a woman, the other side by a man. The woman was excellent, she pierced my lip on the correct spot and it was almost painless. The man wasn’t as good but he was chill I guess, but bro pierced it unevenly😭 Well I mean I guess part of it was on me because he showed me a recommendation for the placement and I agreed. That was no excuse to pierce it so low on the inside. I ain’t even tryna hate or anything I’m just saying. I wouldn’t recommend getting snakebites or anything in pairs at separate times.

THIS BUSINESS LET ANOTHER ADULT SIGN THE CONSENT FORM FOR MY DAUGHTER TO GET FOUR DIFFERENT PIERCINGS ON FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BETWEEN THE AGES OF ONLY 11 AND 15 AND PRETENDED TO BE MY DAUGHTERS GUARDIAN AND SIGN THE FORMS. THE WORKERS THERE NEVER ASKED FOR MY DAUGHTERS ID OR BIRTH CERTIFICATE WHICH IS THE LAW. I CALLED THE BUSINESS AND THEY HUNG UP ON ME AND THEN REFUSE TO ANSWER THE PHONE. THIS HAPPENED OVER AND OVER ALL DAY. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO RETAIN RECORDS FOR 2 YEARS. I AM NOW SEEKING ACTION BUT I DONT THINK THEY HAVE THE PAPERS AND I DONT THINK THEY EVER KEPT THEM BUT I HAVE PICTURES FOR PROOF AND TEXT MESSAGES FOR MY DAUGHTER THANK GOODNESS. THIS PLACE IS A NUISANCE DISGUISED AS A NEIGHBORHOOD FIXTURE! THEY ARE ABOUT TO BE GONE I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE IT. Morgan was very sweet and welcoming! She did a very good job and was very informative. She had an answer to all of my questions and made us feel very safe. (I brought my daughter to get her second earlobe holes and I got my nose pierced). It was quick and easy and they took us back right away. Thank you for the wonderful experience and for making my daughters day extra special! The young woman in the lobby/reception area was also very sweet, helpful, and friendly.

I went here for a tattoo piece that was very personal for me. It was for my late mother who passed when I was 16. I went to Garrick previously for a few small pieces on my arms. I then scheduled with him for my most important piece. I got 2 birds plus words the image was in color and it was absolutely amazing. Garrick was so gentle and I’ve been to many tattoo artists before who just dig into your skin but not Garrick. He was absolutely amazing and made this piece so special for me! Absolutely amazing studio with an amazing artist for a good price. Will 100% get more tattoos from southside tattoo.

We came in to see Veronica to have family tattoos done. They turned out absolutely stunning. 10 stars definitely recommend.

Getting piercings here is always quick and easy for me and the girls who work here are really nice! also have lots of pretty jewelry you can buy

I absolutely LOVE this shop. I came here for my first ever piercings (snake bites) and the friendly staff here made sure I felt comfortable. I had a-lot of anxiety and I’m happy to say I took it like a champ! All thanks to Morgan who was very friendly and happy to answer any questions I had! The piercings are healing nicely, I was provided with bullet point instructions on how to care for them as they heal. I will 100% come back here if i decide to get more piercings and absolutely recommend this shop to my friends! Thanks so much to all the wonderful staff!!

I asked for a body piercing both advertised on Southsides website and front door. The person at the front told me that they dont offer that service. After showing them their website, they then claimed that only one of their piercers do those kinds of piercings, and that theyd be on vacation for a long time. I got the vibe that they didnt want my business. The dishonesty was disconcerting.UPDATE:Well, looks like Southside Tattoo and Body Piercing has decided to make my personal interests public, as they were upset about my review above. The lack of professionalism, should give others second thought.I have compassion for the issues the owner is going through, as my mom died of cancer, and I also know that grief does not help people show up well. I do hope the best for the owner and their family. However, I dont think lashing out at others is the right thing to do.For the future, when a service is not available, its not hard to put a piece of tape on a sign or to update the text on a webpage with temporarily unavailable.After placing this review, here is the response from the owner in case it is edited or removed:Hi Brian,Its a shame you feel we were dishonest. Apparently you either have a lack of compassion or you were just in a bad mood because we told you we couldnt pierce your genitals yesterday. Our body piercer that does male genitals recently finish chemo for her cancer and is not yet ready to return to work. I find your review shameful! Have had tattoos and nipple piercings done here and both healed beautifully with no problems! Very clean and nice staff, if youre looking into getting something done here, go in and talk to someone. Over the phone consultations dont work as well no matter what shop you go to!

It was a good experience. I was able to walk in and get pierced without waiting too long. I got my second upper lobe (on both ears) and my top cartilage piercings done. Its cost me $35 each so $70 together not including a tip.

I walked in to get my helix piercing and my appointment went as well as anyone would hope. everyone was super nice especially because i was so nervous and hate needles. my piercer didnt seem to care at all. he tried to talk me down, made me comfortable, gave me a lollipop so i didnt pass out. he even let me sit in his area for a little bit to make sure i was okay. it was also $30 for a helix which is an awesome price. overall 10/10 some of the reviews are scary. dont listen to them

Had a great experience here for my daughters 8th Birthday ear piercing!The girl who answered the phone was very knowledgeable and helpful in the process on what we needed. She also greated us as we came in and was so very sweet.Dan was our piercer and I was excited about that, because I read tons of good reviews about him. He was awesome and did a great job. I love this place! Dan pierced my daith and Morgan pierced my conch. They were both so personable and both piercings were almost completely painless. They clearly know what they’re doing. The whole process was so quick, I was in and out of there in 10 minutes both times. The place is also very clean and the vibes are great. 10/10 experience, definitely going back to get more piercings!

Morgan pierced my conch in August 2022. She was professional and knowledgeable. The shop was clean and well-stocked. I’ve had several piercings over the years and the conch piercing Morgan gave me was nearly painless! I was provided detailed cleaning instructions and solution - the piercing healed well and very quickly. I would definitely trust Morgan for any of my future piercing needs!

Dan pierced my nose and it was a super quick process. Very friendly atmosphere, too. Great shop, greater people.

Lady at the front desk has had an attitude problem for years. Clearly this business can’t take criticism as they only reply to their negative reviews, and never taking the time to thank their 5 stars reviews. Just read some of their replies. The tattoo artists were pretty nice the two times I’ve been tattooed, but the lady at the front desk has made me not want to return for another. Talked to a few friends & they said the same thing about her attitude. Future customers you’ll see it too!& instead of replying with some snarky remark about how you’ve been in business for so many years, why don’t you take your paying customer’s criticism into consideration like ACTUAL business owners do. Maybe you’ll get more service.

Loved the experience I had with Southside. I had my ears pierced five times, and I am so happy with them. Would definitely go back again!! Even thinking about a tattoo.Also had Morgan pierce my 2 granddaughters ears, and my sister in law got a dermal. Everyone was so happy with them.Morgan was very professional, clean, and caring. Would highly recommend Morgan!!

In the area in January for a visit. Went to Southside Tattoo back in January. Everyone was friendly. My husband got a ring tattoo and was told by the tattoo artist that we can come in anytime for free touch ups. Immediately after it healed you can see that it was not actually even filled in on the sides.Heading to the area this coming weekend and called to make sure we can get a touch up done and they only accept touch ups on weekdays. That was a nice perk but not being from the area, a weekday will not work. We were NEVER told they only do touch ups on weekdays. Just wanted to make others aware of this.UPDATE (per shops comment): we were told that the artist who originally did it, doesnt even do tattoos anymore there...then if we wanted to get in with the owner/shop manager, wed have to come in on a weekday because thats the only time they do touch ups. Just disappointed in the fact that no exception was made for this in order to keep a customer

The staff is extremely helpful and kind. My 5yo had her ears pierced by Morgan. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was awesome with my daughter and very professional. The piercings look fantastic!

Amazing experience! Got a nose piercing from Morgan and it was the fastest, most painless piercing I have ever had (and I have had several I would describe as fast and painless). She took the time to consult with me on where and how I wanted it, and was incredibly nice. Everything is obviously sterile, opened in front of you, and very professional. This was one of the absolute best piercing experiences Ive had and I cannot recommend her enough. She was even nice enough to replace the captive ball in one of my other piercings.I have to take a minute and say that while they were very busy when I came in, the staff member in charge of checking people in and keeping everything going was also super nice, super efficient, and just made this a genuinely pleasant experience!Ive gone to this store in the past for piercings and trusted it enough to come back, and I would say that they are just getting better and better! At any price point, this would be worth it, but at the prices they are charging, you absolutely cant beat it in my opinion.

I have been going here for the last 8 or 9 years. Most recently last night. I LOVE Veronica, I have not had anything done since 2017 and yesterday we picked up like we never parted. The work she does is amazing, and flawless. She even touched up a tattoo someone else did. She is a HUMAN and relates to life. I cant say enough about her and her staff.

Went in today to get an ear piercing! The staff was so pleasant and extremely informative. Very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable while getting pierced. The shop is very clean and they use extensive safety and cleanliness measures while servicing you. Will definitely be coming in again.

I am very disappointed. My daughter came here for her first tattoo and this is what she was left with. The hand is the worst tattoo I have ever seen in my life. The butterflie’s line work is so sloppy. I don’t understand. If you’re not great with doing a certain tattoo then get someone else to do it. She’s stuck for the rest of her life with this hand tattoo. I will never send anyone to you guys ever!!!!!

I stopped in to get a couple piercings as a walk in, I didnt wait long at all. The receptionist was cool and personable. The shop was very clean. Dan pierced me. He was awesome! Dan was very professional, he had great customer service, communication skills and personality. My piercings turned out perfect. I would definitely recommend.

Took my child year old there for her first ear piercing. The man was cold and seemed annoyed that she was afraid. Rather than comfort her or take time, he was gruff and hurried. He then charged us 20$ just for he set-up when she backed out. I heard good things about the lady here, but dont go on a Saturday when he works.

Absolutely awesome service. I stopped at Screaming Crow first and I will never go back there again. Southside tattoo is an amazing place. They were really nice and I got my piercings done quickly and it barely hurt. Will recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Ive been going for years to get tattooed by Veronica. Shes great and runs her business well. They have solid safety policies and Ive never heard anyone being rude to customers. Its a lively and clean place, and the staff seem happy to work there. Recommend!

They are always so helpful and friendly. Whether its picking out new jewelry, getting a piercing, or getting a tattoo, they have always been so welcoming and friendly. Ive been going to them for over a decade now, and I will continue to do so for years to come.

Garrick did an amazing job. The whole process from the appointment to getting the tattoo was easy. Quick responses too, and answered all my questions. The place had an old school vibes and the employees fit the bill. Would recommend getting a tattoo/piercing here.

Went here for helix and navel piercing didn’t have a problem with my navel . My helix piercings however they didn’t give me a long enough ear stud they Were put on to tight so that they couldn’t start healing . Went somewhere to get them looked at and they made the backs less tight and gave me longer posts . The lady who pierced me was Very rushed and seemed bothered by my questions. Good place clean but not great for first time people getting pierced !

Came her for all my facial piercings at least 2 I had done here and I would have come for way more work but they will take advantage. Stopped coming after I realized I was overcharged by about double after I saw the sign posted for cost on my way out. For 1 eyebrow piercing plus 1 jewelry piece $120 I was charged. I would seriously strongly suggest going elsewhere I know I wont be back.

Got my nose pierced here today and have no complaints. I don’t know the guys name that pierces but he did an excellent job. I told him my nerves were shot and he reinsured me the pain is just a pinch. He gets it done faster than you have time to think. No appointment needed, just gets you in and out. Very experienced.

First piercing, came for a walk in because thats all they do, waited less than 20 min on a Saturday night and there were plenty of people coming in.Guy that did it was professional, clearly knew what he was doing, and I had 0 worries as far as Is this gonna be done right? Just How much is this gonna hurt? because I hadnt done it before.It hurt, but he was fast. He had marked it before hand, asked me if I liked it. I asked if that was a safe placement and he confirmed it, so we pierced, and was done in less than a minute. I asked him questions about aftercare and when I could switch it to a different style ring, he answered all my questions and pointed me in the correct directions.If you want a piercing, two of my friends already exclusively use him, and if I get another, I will be going back to him. Clearly knows what hes doing, and Id have no worries going back.

We had arrived 20 mins before close for 3 nose piercings. They got us all in with no issue! Dan was our piercer he was super friendly and fast! I’ve never been pierced so fast in my life barely felt it at all! I highly recommend for piercings never got a tattoo here so I can’t say anything about that!

Went here to get my upper lobes pierced. The piercer did an awful job and they came out horribly uneven. See the photo. I can’t believe they claim to be professionals. No attention to quality or detail.When I went, the studio was very crowded and the piercer was trying to rush everyone through as fast as possible, without a care for quality. I would have rather she asked me to come back another day or schedule an appointment. Now my ears are messed up for good. Absolutely do NOT come here to get any work done.

My daughter got her septum pierced here. Very professional told her what to expect how to take care of it. Only downfall they need to have a sign somewhere cash only because a lot of people deal with just there cards although they offer a atm certain cards seem not to like it. Im not going to take anything away from the review for that because they were great with everything else. I loved their flash art they had on the walls and the cleanliness of the establishment. I have my own tattoo artist but may consider giving them a chance.

My siblings and I went in for a nose piercing about a week and a half ago. They are a cash only and have a ATM in the shop. Signed the waiver and within about 5-7 mins we were all pierced. The woman that pierced us was very patient. Dotted our noses and asked us if we liked the placement. It took about 30 seconds. Very professional and clean. We were really comfortable and she made us laugh. Masks were worn most of the time (we got nose piercings so couldnt be the entire time). Overall a great experience.(I also got my tongue pierced 10 yrs ago from them and it was a great experience back then.)

Veronica is just an incredible and warm human who provides an exceptional experience and the highest quality tattoos. She is edgy yet nurturing, real, down to earth and puts you at ease. Her talent and experience is unmatched. Overall the best tattoo experience on all accounts!!

Got a flat back earring put in my helix piercing that had a very small gauge piercing. I didn’t know enough about the type of earring I wanted. Unfortunately I got a much larger gauge earring jammed into the existing piercing. It was stuck and very painful. After two days I went to another place who removed the earring and put a proper earring in my very sore ear. Not a good experience for me at all. Should not have happened.

My daughter is a minor and was looking for somewhere to do her piercings. Came across Southside tattoo. It was a very quick and easy process. Waited about 5 minutes to go back and took less than 10 minutes to do both her piercings. She said it didnt hurt at all and is very happy. Would definitely recommend and will go back for future piercings.

Quick and easy (not rushed but I knew what I went for) experience. Female piercer was awesome and the male that changed me corkscrew stud into a hoop after 6 weeks was equally as awesome! My friend also went for a second hoop after because of the great experience and we are both pleased!!

Such a great experience at this tattoo shop. They accept walk ins which is great, but can also take appointments. We saw Garrick who I would highly recommend. He does amazing work. Everyone in the shop was accommodating, knowledgeable and so kind! If you’re looking for a tattoo shop in the Pittsburgh area You should absolutely check them out. They’ve got tons of designs and are quick to sketch out your idea if you’re looking for something specific. They also do piercings as most tattoo shops to, but the selection of jewelry is impressive as well.

I’ve been going here since I was 15 years old and I just love them they are very friendly and welcoming I’ve gotten all my piercings here from them ( I have 16 so far and wanting more ) and I have one tattoo I’ve got done from here also the pl e is very clean they always always use clean needles to pierce you and have gloves on. They are super fast and easy they also change your jewelry for you if you don’t want to change it yourself.

My fiancé and I went to get her nose pierced. The shop was clean and we were greeted when we entered. Upon filling out the paperwork, the girl came to get us for a nose piercing. She asked about placement and gave a recommendation with a sharpie before piercing. Once agreed, it took no time at all. It was reasonably priced and quick. We were very satisfied and would return again.

If i could give negative stars, i would!!! my gf went here to get he nips pierced. the piercer was rude and unprofessional, and put it in the wrong spot. called the next day to get a refund and they told us there’s no way he put it in the wrong spot even though we have picture proof. she told us to come back in and get it redone free of charge. hell no. do not go here.

Had a wonderful experience getting pierced here! I came in for my nose and left with more, price was decent, service was friendly. Piercer took her time and explained everything as well as assisted with the spontaneous bleed that occurred.

Four months later and my conch piercings are still not healing. I had a bad experience at this studio more than 10 years ago and said I would never go back. When my friend said that’s where she wanted to go for our piercings I decided to give them another chance. When it was my turn the piercer was extremely rude and dismissive of my questions. I figured it was an ear piercing how bad could it be and went for it anyways. I wish I had trusted my gut. Tomorrow I will be going to another studio to get another opinion because Southside Tattoo has made it clear they are not concerned with their clients’ wellbeing.EDIT: after waiting 7 months and seeing other piercers, making adjustments in jewelry I had to take these piercings out. They were doomed from day 1.

My husband got his ear pierced there and loved it. So I went and got my septum done two days ago. I do not know the piercers name, but he was amazing and I would recommend him and this shop to anyone!

I had been here before for a nosepiercing around last summer and had a good experience, however, i just went back today to get it pierced again (closed up lol), and continue to have such a great experience. i wanna say my piercers name today was morgan. she was super sweet, professional, and knowledgeable. She made sure the placement was okay before she pierced it, and even though i was familiar with the process, she still walked me through step by step what she was doing/going to do. the place is reasonably priced, and would recommend morgan to anybody looking to get a piercing. she’s my new favorite and will not go anywhere else!!

Ive gotten 2 piercings here before. the first one was 2-3 years ago, a nose piercing. the second one was just 2 hours ago, a septum piercing. both times i got very nice piercers. they were fast and sanitary. they did a great job.one question though.. when you pierce septums, what size jewelry do you use? for when i buy jewelry.

Went in for a spare of the moment belly button piercing- and loved it!! very fast and easy. the staff was so nice and pleasant, and the whole place was clean too. im so pleased with my service and will recommend to anyone :)

Called before hand and was told the minimum for small tattoos was $60. Went in and they charged me $120 for a circle and charged my friend $84 for a quarter of a moon not even the full thing. Also totally ruined my 21st birthday :( :(

Took my daughter to get her nose pierced for her birthday.. as I got my nose pierced there at her age for my birthday.. it wS a success and she looks incredible.She was a little flinchy and I loved the direct approach the artist took with her, ok, come back when youre ready he said snapping his glove off, after the 3rd attempt of her flinching away... that was enough for her to get the guts and pierce her nose.Not sure of his name but hes good!She loves her piercing and its healed beautifully, without problems.Thanks again.

Got a cartilage piercing done, they only accept cash so be prepared but they do have an atm. It didnt hurt bad(just close yr eyes and expect a pinch) the stud itself is included in the price, and it was over with quickly. Fabulous waiting room.

I recently got my septum pierced by dan as a walk-in. the receptionist was great and quickly gave us the paperwork, and within minutes i was in the piercing chair. dan was quick, funny, and professional. ive been to many other piercing studios in pittsburgh and i was really impressed with how awesome my experience was here. the price was also fantastic! $55 plus tips! great selection of jewelry as well. thank you!!

I got my tongue pierced here about 3-4 months ago. I went back 2 months after so I could change my jewelry. Before I switched my ring my tongue was healthy and perfect fine. For the past week my tongue has been swollen and hurting. Today I looked at my ring and noticed that it had turned silver. When I bought this jewelry it was gold. The jewelry tarnished inside of my tongue and almost gave me a infection. As a result of the ring tarnishing in my tongue I had to remove it and my piercing is now closed.

This was my first tattoo. I had been wanting to get one a long time but was nervous about doing it. I got an armband and a line of birds. I provided a picture of what I wanted, and Garrick delivered exactly what I asked for. He made the process easy. The work is clean, precise and perfectly saturated. People complaining about price? These ppl are taking serious responsibility putting permanent markings on your body. They should be well compensated; it is not easy work. The price was perfectly okay with me. Not only that, but youre getting something that is potentially with you for life. In fact, I gladly gave a sizable tip. Now I want to get more done. When I do, Ill be asking for Garrick again.

Took my daughter to get pierced tonight by Dan. AMAZING! She was nervous but he was so kind to her. Told her what to expect every step of the way. She can’t wait for this ear (Tragus and forward helix) to heal so she can get the other ear done. Thank Dan for making this nervous mom and her daughter feel better. We will see you soon!

Went with a few friends to get various ear piercings. they all were fine but my piercings were noticeably uneven. (i got a second lobe). ended up taking one out and will be getting it fixed at another place. fast service and affordable but make sure that you know exactly what you want and the correct placement!

They did an amazing job on my nostril piercing. Everything looked totally sterile and he pierced me so fast I barely even realized it happened and he was super nice and professional. Prices are fair. They are cash only but the on-site atm is only a $2 fee.

The employees were extremely kind and easy to talk to. The tattoo artist and piercer were both respectful and helped make the experience fun. Everything was kept very clean which made me feel even more comfortable.

Ive never made it easy for him by just picking some flash off the wall. I always tell him my ideas and he brings them to life and makes the pieces more beautiful then I could imagine. My color looks as good as the day I got it. Im always complimented on my work and I confidently tell everyone who asks to go to South Side Tattoo. The work is worth the price.

My artist was Brandon. I wanted a couple things different than the picture I brought, he did a great job putting his own twist on it. My tattoo came out amazing, you dont realize your sitting as long as you are. Hes down to earth funny and the conversation was easy not forced or uncomfortable. Recommend him to anyone.

I got spider bites done here, for $85. The piercer did it all very fast, probably less than 5 minutes after walking-in then it was finished. I dont know what gauge the piercings are, but I should have asked. Overall, the piercings are great. 😊 I would go here again.

My friend and I stopped by here after having a negative experience somewhere else and we were given the most amazing time possible. I went in for a nose piercing on a Thursday afternoon and the shop is near clean and organized. It smells sterile. The staff were friendly and professional. I went alone and asked one of the workers to record my experience on my phone and she so graciously recorded it for me

Every time I get pierced here the piercing is crooked. It usually rejects. We have to look at the piercing every day. I’m not sure why the piercer doesn’t take an extra 10 seconds to make sure he’s doing it properly. I don’t recommend. He’s extremely careless and will leave you with crooked piercings.

Many of my friends and I have gotten tattoos from this place and they were great, good lines and the male tattoo artists were very friendly. They had decent prices for tattoos until just recently I went for just a simple coulple words and knowing how much my friends paid for theirs which was a decent price I got told my tattoo would be $160 for an 8 word tattoo. The lady who was supposed to do it was I believe Veronica, I don’t doubt her skills but no way was I going to pay that much for 8 words. Also the front lady who was working the counter didn’t try to negotiate or help and was kinda rude when I told her that was too much. Mind you my friend had a 6 letter tattoo done here and was only $70. I later went to another tattoo shop 50 minutes from there for them to tell me tattoo shops around the city have started upping their prices. Wish I could give it zero stars but I wanted to write a review.

My daughter and I have normally gotten our tattoos at one particular place in Erie, PA. However, we decided to try out South Side during our weekend stay in Pittsburgh. We were a bit skeptical at first due to never having had an experience at South Side. However, everyone there was amazing and very personable. We absolutely LOVE our tattoos and will definitely travel back to South Side for any additional tattoos we may decide to get in the future. I had both ears pierced with daith piercings to try and relieve migraine headaches here today...they were very friendly, the place is very clean, the equipment is all sterile and the pricing is great at $40 per side (including the stainless steel hoops)! Im still waiting to see if they will work as I just left...

I got my double cartilage pierced here by a guy 6 months ago and since then it has gotten infected twice and developed keyloids. When he pierced my ear my friend noticed that there was a hair through my piercing. Unsanitary, and by far the most expensive shop i’ve been too, overall not worth it at all. Ive gone to numerous piercers and this was hands down my worst experience. To make matters worse my friend who went with me and got her upper lobe pierced has also experienced the same infections and keyloid issue. Go anywhere else.

Me and my 2 family members went down on a Friday night to see about all of us getting a tattoo we was so excited and couldnt wait! We walked into the shop there was an older lady behind the desk immediately she was very rude had a attitude while asking us what we wanted and proceeded to ask more questions in a belittling tone. Completely ruined our night we decided not to spend our money there when we was treated so poorly for no reason at all. We went a few places down an go a tattoo at another shop instead. We spend almost 400$ plus tip that Southside tattoo missed out on just because of how rude this lady was. Dont waste your time or money!

Not the nicest service, felt rushed by our piercer. Pretty pricey too. Was told $45 dollars for a belly button piercing (over there phone).. then got there, and was about to get pierced and was told itll be $60 for a to be pierced with the bar... sigh. I just pray my piercing, my sisters piercing, and my moms piercing all heal properly. . .

Worst piercing place i’ve been to. Tragus was not put in straight, making it impossible to change it on my own. The other two piercings I got were infected. The fourth one fell out in a day. Do not even try if the girl is piercing.

Went here to get my dermal done and it was placed very deep. i’ve heard that they could reject but mine sunk in to my skin instead and tilted in the process. i went to get it looked at by my usual piercing place and he said he has never seen something like this happen, especially since i take care of my piercings very diligently. do not recommend this place for dermals.

I have a question. I went to get my nose pierced there in december 19th which was my birthday, and everything was fine but now i’m developing a bump on the piercing. i clean it 3 times daily and the bump just appeared. also i got my industrial piercing June 2020 and i’ve got these 2 keloids on my ear that won’t go away. advice?

I went in to get my nose piercing changed and bought a nose ring from them. I asked if it was surgical steel and they said yes however the nose ring tarnished within a week. Receptionist had a horrible attitude. Called to complain and they told me to come back and actually purchase another one LOL yeah right

I went in to get my triple forward helix done, simple enough, right? wrong. the piercer (i cant even remember her name) was so rude and condescending. the first words out of her mouth were this is my least favorite piercing to do......okay. anyway she was only able to do one piercing, like she physically could not do the last two. i left there $44 poorer and my left side was COVERED in blood. about a month later the piercing just completely fell out and closed. what a waste.

We went to Dan and he was amazing!! I got my cartilage done on my ear, my friend got her nose, and my other friend got her conch and nose. He did a great job! Highly recommend him!!

On my 16th birthday I came to south side tattoo to get a rose on my wrist. Two years later Im still so completely in love with it. Yesterday I got paw prints on my feet for my dog who is now ten years old. Veronica is an amazing artist who can completely transform a picture of a rose or a paw print into an amazing piece of art on your body. Best believe I will be back for all my other tattoos!

Got my lip pierced here. The post used was too small. The man that pirced it said to come back if the swelling caused me to need a longer post. The only person there when I came back needing the longer post took my lip ring out to change it and because she was having problem getting it out...mind you she had no clue what she was doing she didnt measure to see the size of the ring needed not did she send the little threading needle thru before she put the new post in but anyway she took the ring out and said to bad sgs could not get it in because she didnt know what she was doing. She ruined my piercing refused to refund me and then tried to keep my jewelery. When I called about my supposed store credit I was denied that as well. Good luck with your services here.

I’ve been here a few times for a variety of piercings..the women is great but the man is beyond rude. I came in today to have a hoop put in and i squirmed a little..he backed away and rolled his eyes. I asked if it was in yet and his response was “I don’t know maybe if you’d stop moving”an an EXTREMELY RUDE TONE.I had already disclosed that I was experiencing a lot of pain with this piercing. Not to mention the fact that he OVER CHARGED so he’d get a tip? Ridiculous and so unprofessional..I WILL not be back for a piercing.

I wanted to replace my hoop and get a second lobe piercing. The guy marked my ear for the new piercing with my old hoop, but put a different kind of hoop in that made it look off balance. He also did not tell me that he was putting in a gauged hoop instead of something with just a post. It was actually very uncomfortable and completely unexpected. I will never go back and would discourage anyone else from going.

Back in 2020 of June I got my industrial piercing on my left ear. It didn’t hurt & the healing was fine and now August 2021, I finally go to switch the barbell out and it turns out I’ve been piercing with the wrong size gauge, so now I can’t put a normal thick barbell in.

I got my second tattoo here and I did not have a good experience. The person who did my tattoo went far too deep and I have scarring still, 3 years later. They told me the tattooist would tattoo the lettering thinner than the stencil but he failed to and now I have some bleedage issues with the ink. Not to mention his bad attitude and lack of conversation skills. The staff werent warm or helpful, just there. Overall, I wont be going here for a future tattoo. Or piercing. or anything.

When I was 17 I got my tongue pierced here with my moms consent. When I was 22 I had two tattoos from another shop that is no longer in business and I wanted one of them covered up so I decided to go to Southside tattoo because they had been voted #1 tattoo shop in Pittsburgh for 10 years (by who I dont know) and I had a piercing from there so I figured why not. So anyway I made an appointment and went in and the receptionist kept going back and forth from the back talking to the artist trying to get her to understand what I wanted and finally she came out because she needed to see what she was going to be covering. For some reason this shop doesnt like you talking directly to the artists. She told me she was going to rework my tattoo instead of cover it so we went into her tattoo area and it was a tiny cubicle that the two of us could barely fit into and we are two small girls! She did the tattoo which was mediocre but I figured it was because it was done using a previous tattoo so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. About six months later I decided I wanted a knitting tattoo so I went back and they gave me the same artist and this time she royally f*ed up my tattoo you cant even tell the yarn balls are yarn balls and she spent so much time on them trying to fix her mistakes that my skin was completely destroyed and I was left with scarring. I called the shop a few weeks later and told the receptionist that my tattoo looked terrible and was scarred and he told me to come in for a free touch up. Seriously, you scar someone for life and then have the nerve to offer them more work from your terrible artist! I also believe the work that they had in their portfolios is not actually their work. Their is no way that your portfolio is filled with work that looks like it is award winning but the stuff being posted online from actual customers looks like you got it in someones kitchen. Also they WAY over charge for their work. Expect to pay two to three times as much as any other shop.I now get all my work done by Seth and Dmitry at Bloodlines Gallery. Clean comfortable professional and amazing artistry at a respectable price. I have two tattoos from Dmitry (who has been featured by inked magazine) and Seth is working on my sleeve.

Very rude lady at the front desk, didnt tell me much and rolled her eyes at me. For a 6 letter quote (one letter being an & sign), she said it could be $200 but at the very least $150. I could get this tattoo done out of town for about $60. Felt like we were just a bother, should have listened to everyone that says that lady is rude. Wont be going back.

Terrible!!! Went in to get my nipples pierced and theyre horrible! The piercing wasnt even centered to my nipple, theyre at the top of my nipple and pierced through the areola. So upset. $70 wasted, I immediately pulled them out after I left. I do not reccomend this place. You get what you pay for.

My friend and I both got our belly buttons pierced on two selerate occasions by two different people at this shop and BOTH of our belly button rings are crooked. After having this piercing for over a year and a half, my belly button is STILL not healed, so Im 110% sure the piercing was done incorrectly.One of my other friends got her nose pierced here and, after over a year and a half, her piercing hasnt properly healed either.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEE DO NOT go here for ANY type of piercings.

So, I don;t have ink but, wife has it all for me. Matty at Southside is a wizard with the ink wand and did one hell of a cover up on my wife. Their is a rule or a saying in the tattoo word for some dont get a name of a relationship person? you may regret it later. Yup! And we contact Matty to use his magic to remove the past and fly into the future with some amazing birds. The original was a dark purple with black and he covered it will light blues & reds with some amazing shading. I pay attention to details and know what was their and nothing from the past exists in the amazing birds he created. Thanks Matty and Southside Tattoo for the amazing work!

I asked for a dragon tattoo like the Girl from the Dragon Tattoo movie, Veronica left me with a dead floundering koi fish; the scale line work was wonky. Underneath I got a Japanese script saying Peace & Love but my friend from CMU told me it actually translated to, I love kitchen appliances. Dont go here unless you love kitchen appliances.

Crooked navel piercing, and received little help/info when I went back to them about a concern of infection.. 2 stars because my sister is having no issues with her navel piercing.

A little pricey for some piercings but the friendly, quick, and clean service is worth it.

Lip periced ....my lip periced had closed went there they are very professional. She said the second time hurts more than the first but compared to where I went the first time there was no pain..very great service.
