I had an amazing piercing experience with Jess here today! I was so nervous (but excited) to get my new ear piercings, tragus and helix. I told Jess I was nervous and she instantly made me so much more comfortable. She was very friendly, easy going, and accommodating. She explained every step of the process and helped to calm my nerves.I was nervous about the placement for each piercing due to past experiences at other studios but Jess did a phenomenal job and absolutely nailed it! She marked out several different options for the helix and held up the jewelry to each one in a mirror and helped me pick the most flattering option. My tragus placement also turned out so perfectly I could not be happier!I was most nervous for the pain when it came time to pierce, Jess explained it can’t be painless but she does her best to pierce very quickly. I was shocked by how little pain I felt, during both the piercing and jewelry install! Some people say you can hear a “crunch” when getting your tragus pierced but I had no such experience, it went so quickly and effortlessly. Jess also gave good advice on relaxing my body and breathing through the piercing.All in all great experience, I can’t recommend body manipulations and Jess as a piercer enough. The studio is very clean and comfortable and you can tell they take the sterilization and cleanliness of the process very seriously.

Great place to get your piercings done! I begged my mom to pierce my septum and saved money for over a year and my experience was very smooth. It was worth it! I was pierced by Alex who was very kind and informative when getting my septum done. A while later I got my navel and 2nd ear lobe piercings done by Steven who was also great! Although the prices are a bit on the expensive side, you get what you pay for- experienced piercers & quality jewelry. I hope to come here again for future piercings to come. :)

My daughter had an MRI scheduled at UCSF, which is close to Body Manipulations. We needed to get 3 of her piercings removed for the MRI and she needed help with removing them. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with friendly, welcoming attentiveness. We were then introduced to Jess who helped my daughter remove her piercings. Jess was incredible- very thoughtful, kind, patient, really helpful showing my daughter how to take the piercings out and put back in (septum, nose, and top of ear). We honestly left feeling so happy that we stopped in. Jess said she would be happy to help my daughter put piercing back in after MRI. Jess made the whole process surprisingly enjoyable. I would 1000% recommend Body Manipulations for a piercing or tattoo! I got my septum pierced and went to three other studios first to no luck because of my deviated septum. The piercers here are confident, skilled, and kind! My septum piercing looks awesome and I had a great experience getting it done.

I cannot recommend Jess enough!! She was very patient with me as I had a few questions about the type of piercing I was getting (I was debating between a regular and vertical labret). She showed me multiple examples of what it would look like by bringing out jewelry pieces as well as marking where I could get pierced, and she helped calm my nerves through conversation as this was my first piercing not on my ears or nose. The piercing itself was painless and smooth, and I love the placement. Do not have doubts about booking with Jess! If I ever get any more piercings this is where I will come :)

Jess was my piercer and she did a FANTASTIC job. I’m only leaving this review because I am so impressed and amazed with her skills & she deserves the praise. I had to re-pierce one of my nipples (took bar out over a year ago) and was very nervous about it since I’ve never done a re-piercing. Idk how she did it but she managed to put the piercing right back in its original space. Absolutely zero bleeding, crusting or pain, even after 2 weeks post-visit. It’s like a dream compared to the healing process I had with the original piercing. Jess is AMAZING and if I ever want a new piercing I will be coming back to body manipulations/Jess. I’m so happy with the results. 11/10

Everyone here was so wonderful! My friend and I came in last minute to get ear piercings and we felt taken care of from start to finish. Jess pierced us and she was so so superb, thoughtful, and fun :) also everything was extremely clean! Will be returning for any and all piercings!

Went and had my second chest piercing done here. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating to my requests, and they had me in and out super fast, I did make a appointment online prior to arriving so I’m sure that expedited the whole experience, so I would recommend make the appointment. But all in all I was very satisfied and will be going in again in the future for my next piercing.

Great place! I went here for my septum piercing a few weeks ago. Steve was amazing! Great bedside manner, excellent attention to cleanliness, the piercing is placed perfectly, and the entire process was virtually pain free.

Ive been pierced at 11 other studios, but i never rly had a favorite until now. everyone at the front counter & my piercer, alex, were all super friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable & patient.i called an hr before my appointment to let them know i would be 30min late. they were rly nice about it and when i got there i was able to see my piercer almost immediately. i was there because one of my nipple piercings wasn’t healing well and alex explained what my options were, answered all my questions, didnt make me feel rushed to make a decision, & was rly thorough with going over aftercare.i really appreciate how comfortable everyone working there made me feel, and my piercing already seems to be less irritated after having the barbell switched out.the space itself is also really nice. really pretty pieces of art on the walls & obviously very clean.will def be back for my next piercing!

If youre seeking a reputable establishment for body piercings, then look no further. We were looking for a high quality place to get our kidsears pierced, and we couldnt be more satisfied. This place has been around for decades, and I can see why. Its very clean, everyone is super courteous, nice and knowledgeable... And experienced. Tessa is the gal who helped us and she couldnt have been more accommodating, especially with being patient and understanding when dealing with excited.. And then scared... Little girls. Highly recommended.

Will never go anywhere elseAlex was awesome and I love my new piercings. He took his time, was very good at explaining things and answered all my questions (even not directly related to the service I was going to get that day).I have to mention that these are my first needle piercings and I understand now why people prefer them over gun piercings; they are healing great and I can even sleep on my side!Only con I would mention is there is a girl (has green hair) who works the jewelry counter and checks in customers who I didn’t enjoy working with as much. She repeats herself when explaining things and sounds like she is being short.

This place was incredible!! I came in for a walk-in septum piercing; Id only ever had my lobes pierced and I am terrified of pain (seriously, I had a panic attack and almost fainted when trying to donate blood once). My friends and I waited for a little while and then they had Tyler pierce my nose. He was so professional and friendly! Naturally he wore gloves and the tools all seemed new and clean. My friends were watching and I was just trying to swallow my nerves. Tyler just calmly explained the process step by step as he did it, and he was so chill about it all that it really made me feel reassured too just by his sheer experience and confidence. His instructions helped a lot. I have small nostrils so honestly I was a bit worried about getting it done and being able to flip my retainer inside. But during the process he adjusted multiple times to make sure it was positioned just right.Here is the kicker, my piercing was 100% PAINLESS! I mean completely! Others have told me their septum piercings stung and they were in tears, but all I felt was the needle sliding through my skin--bit of a creepy sensation but my eyes didnt even water! I made a noise because I was scared and right afterward I said, in disbelief, That was almost painless, but thinking about it later on, there was actually no pain at all! Tyler also told me there was no need to buy products for cleaning or anything--just soak in warm water twice a day to remove any crusties that come up. I couldnt believe that at first but I did was I was told!Its been just over a month since I had it done, and the healing process went remarkably smoothly! At first it looked crooked, but since healing up more its straightened out and matches the natural asymmetry of my face/nostrils. No pain to this date (unless of course I accidentally bumped it, especially during the first three weeks or so) and I didnt even really experience any crusty stuff or notable swelling at the site. Sometimes I thought, Did he use anesthetic or something?! Is there even a piercing?! but its legit guys! Full healing is supposed to take two months, so I wont change it until then, but honestly my retainer moves around and flips up so easily that I feel like its pretty much done! Now Im confident that my grandma wont see it and get mad at me at the family Christmas party :)I think the fact that it was painless was partly just luck and anatomy on my part, but I definitely wouldnt discount the skill and care taken on Tylers part. Im very grateful and so glad I went here! I highly recommend it!

Went in for a VCH today. I showed up a way earlier then my appointment. Nerves make me show up early. I was welcomed promptly and taken earlier. Check in and out was super easy love the efficiency. Go google pay! Jess is a really cool human. They provided a very safe and welcoming space. Loved the walk through the appointment and aftercare.Definitely would recommend to a friend. I will be back thinking.... double nostril and chain? Nips??? Thanks Jess

I got three of my piercings changed here, with Jess as my piercer, and she was so kind and supportive! The atmosphere here was so welcoming and I would totally come here again!

Do not go to Ayana if you want a smooth process. I came in to get my forward helix fixed, and she single-handedly ruined my impression of this location. I had gotten my piercing done a few months to here and today I woke up with what I thought was a missing jewelry. I drove almost an hour to have them look at it, only for them to say it was embedded and the jewelry was not missing. The front desk said it would be an easy fix, and to wait for the next available piercer to help. Ayana comes to greet me, and brings me to a room. She sits me down, looks at my piercing, and starts cleaning it. She doesnt explain that she cant even see the jewelry, just that I will feel some pressure as she gets the clamps on. After she gets the clamps on, she fiddles around with my jewelry trying to get it to poke through. The entire time shes talking about how to manage the swelling with a mix of warm and cold compress, but she had neither warm nor cold. After feeling pressure and pain for a few minutes, she asked if I needed a break. I said yes as tears started rolling down my face. I told her to continue, not knowing she wasnt even close. After the second try and tears streaming down my face as Im trying to hold my sobs, she brings out only a warm paper towel. She applies the paper towel to what feels like the back part of my piercing, then continues to fiddle around the front without describing what shes doing. I had to literally ask her to describe what she was doing while I was pulling away my ear. She doesnt bring out a cold compress at any time to help bring down the swelling. After a third try of fiddling and even using needle to try to guide the jewelry out, she says urgent care is an option and I might prefer that. I say no and she keeps going. Not until after the 4th or 5th time of her literally poking at my swollen bleeding piercing, does she ask if she can bring in another pair of hands to help. I point to the room next door and say the piercer in there is who did my original piercing. She tells me to sit tight and Im left waiting in the room, sobbing. The other piercer comes in, takes one look at my ear, and brings in a cup of ice. I have no idea why Ayana did not bring me ice before. Ayana said nothing to me after this piercer came in. She did nothing to comfort me while she was fiddling with my ear, didnt even have the sense to describe what she was doing, or tell me after the third time that she CANT EVEN SEE THE JEWELRY SHOWING. After the other piercer got started, I saw her from the mirror just staring at me, not helping. I truly wanted her out of that room and I should have asked. I am traumatized, embarrassed, hurt, angry, and I dont ever want to go back. Dont come here, and especially dont get pierced by Ayana. You will regret it.

I went in today for a forward helix piercing. All the staff were very attentive and helpful, but Ayana did the actual piercing and she was AMAZING! Shes super nice and took the time to explain everything, made sure I was comfortable and the placement was exactly where I wanted it to be. 10/10!!!

Ive been coming here for a long time, and always have a great experience. Their staff is so friendly and helpful, and they stand behind their work. They always greet you with a smile and make you feel comfortable.

I got both my ears pierced and it was done very professionally. Tony pierced me and he had great bedside manners. Explained the process in depth, was really good about hygiene and allowed me to ask any questions I wanted. Very knowledgeable about everything piercing and piercings. Would recommend him if youre getting anything pierced. Jewelry selection at the shop was limited and not that great, so either swing by first to see if they have what youre looking for or get jewelry somewhere else

I got a nose piercing earlier today and was pierced by Jess. She was so sweet and truly made me feel like I was in good hands! I want to change from a stud to a ring later on so Jess took her time making sure it was placed in the correct spot for when Im going to change it! The place looked very clean and minimalistic and all of their tools were sterilized, I am so happy I chose this place!

Body Manipulations is the oldest professional piercing studio in the world—that says something! My party and I dropped in for a birthday ear piercing (10% off birthday discount on jewelry 🎉) and left with two shiny diamonds and one big, shiny birthday smile. Nessa, the piercer, explained the entire process step by step while creating ongoing conversation to calm any nerves. She made everyone feel informed and comfortable, and was seamless and quick in the piercing. The birthday girl said the ear piercings were just a sting—nothing too painful. BM uses a needle to pierce ears, which is much safer than the gun. The earrings selection ranged from $55-65 ($110-130 per pair). Unfortunately, I knocked off one star because of the long wait time. We dropped in on a Monday afternoon and waited nearly 1.5 hours until it was our turn.

$200 to get my 10 year old’s ears pierced was a bit much considering we picked the cheapest studs we could. But it went smoother than my last daughters where the gun got stuck in her ear! I felt like this was a safe and clean place with people that knew what they were doing.

I purchased a very expensive nose ring and there were no one install it so Ive been carrying it in my purse for the last month until finally one of my family members put it in . But the customer service was really sweet ...

Have gotten two piercings here, nose by Jess and a second lobe by Alex. Both are super relaxed and did an amazing job with my piercings. And awesome aftercare instructions as well -- shop is super sterile, clean, and straightforward. A little pricey but worth it to not have to worry about quality. Highly recommend.

Ive come to body manipulations for multiple piercings over the years. Their new location in the dogpatch is much larger and not as congested as their previous location in the mission. The pricing is fair and they always have great selections for jewelry, whether it be gold or titanium as well as diamond and other gemstones. I made an appointment and got through their process very quickly. Appointment started at 1230 and I was out by 1250. Quick and almost painless with an after piercing take home kit with instructions. Love this place. Will definitely be back for more years to come.

My first ear lobe piercings went so well with the help of Jasmine and Ayana.Ayana is so attentive, patient with exuberant energy. I was nervous about symmetry and she absolutely nailed it.The parlor is super clean, the service friendly and warm, I am thrilled and have no doubt others will have a great experience, especially if it’s your first time.Fast forward 5 days:The NeilMed spray and Donner’s soap they endorse/sell is amazing. My ear lobe piercings are healing healthily, no discomfort or worries.Ayana’s precision is that good 🙏🏼💛

Jess was absolutely fantastic. What a wonderful personality, and made the whole experience fun. Facility was incredibly clean and the piercing rooms were nice and private. If youre looking for a posting piercing experience, you cant go wrong here.

Eldo was just perfect. I got a septum piercing today - It was quick, pain-free, and even enjoyable! Eldo was extremely experienced, professional, and thoughtful. He even went out of his way to recommend and look for a ring that ended up fitting me better AND less expensive (!). An amazing experience! I had Max as my piercer and he was very sweet and positive. I was nervous about getting my piercings, but he talked me through it, and was considerate when I said I wanted a break. I dont think I would have gotten them if I didnt have him. My friend and I both agree that the experience he gave us was great!Overall, the shop is clean and the other employees are also sweet. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Amazing piercers! as someone who is allergic to most metals and gets infections super easily, my helix hasn’t gotten infected once! both my sister and mum got piercings too and none of us have run into any problems, that include having fresh piercings on plane rides. overall i 10/10 recommend! lovely staff and professional, well trained piercers.

Amazing per usual. I got my belly pierced with them 12 years ago, and the jewelry itself hasnt rusted or anything you would expect over 12 years. I havent changed it once.This visit I went in to buy some solution and soap. I got my new piercing done somewhere else, and the stuff they provided irritated my piercing, so I drove an hour just to get to Body Manipulations and Alex checked my piercings for me as well as sold me cleaning products and gave me instructions on how to clean it properly.Great people all around ended up staying longer caught up in conversation, haha.

Clean , modern , and spacious establishment in a warehouse-type modern industrial space. They have a great selection of jewelry which is what I was looking for. The piercer who swapped out my jewelry did a careful, thorough job while following all precautions of sterility and cleanliness. Would definitely return. Staff is knowledgeable and professional.

Went in to have my earlobe piercings reopened. Purchased a pair of 18k seamless rings, service fee was $30, and also purchased a wound wash for $18. BEWARE when you choose tips on the tablet, my brain was tricked into tipping before the service was even done, and it was tipping for the entirety of the purchases, not solely for the service. My piercer did not want to talk to me🥲, and was not informative on what to expect or what to do for the aftercare. I had to start the conversations and address my concerns, and his responses werent very helpful. He was also being very rough and aggressive with inserting the rings, pulling and snagging my ears😖😵. My ears have never been handled in such an aggressive manner before. I basically tipped over 200% on this service, that was painful and unpleasant. My total came out to $500+ (products, service, taxes, tips). I regret my decision, my mistake and lesson to learn. Based on this experience, I would not want to go there again.

I came here for stretching of my ears and left nipple and re-piercing and stretching of my right nipple. I was impressed with the space, and the professionalism of the staff. The jewelry they had for purchase was titanium and not surgical stainless steel, so it was much more expensive than I expected, but still ok. You might want to bring your own jewelry if this is a problem. My piercer talked through everything in detail so I knew exactly what happening. I was nervous since it had been a long time since the last time I was pierced. I would definitely come back to this place and would recommend to anyone needing similar services.

Everyone at the shop was great.. friendly and knowledgeable are the words that come to mind. I got 2 lobe piercings and my septum done by Alex. He took time to make sure I had all my questions answered and even helped me with some of my other jewelry/piercings. It was my first time going into Body M and it’d be silly to go anywhere else from now on, 10/10 experience.

Had my dermal on my right cheek done here and they are thee greatest! Had to go back to get it reset and let me tell you…amazing! Would greatly recommend for whatever your hearts desire dermal piercing tattoo! Transform into a new you! Love these guys thank you!!!

Got my nose pierced here a few weeks ago. Everyone working there was super professional and extremely helpful. Everything was very sanitary (I showed them my digital vaccination info), which was exactly as I expected it would be after what I learned in my research into several local piercing shops.Alex was my piercer and was able to answer all my questions and then some. He gave me his contact info emailed him a couple days after my piercing with yet another question about the healing process and he was very quick to respond.If youre thinking of getting your piercing done here, look no further!

I showed up an hour early for my appointment and the person I wanted to see was out that day but I still think they shop deserves 5/5.The place was clean and had private booths for the different piercings.I saw Alex who was very knowledgeable and capable. He performed the piercings like a professional and got me set up with a replacement barbell for another piercing.100% I plan on going back to this shop.

I had the septum pierced with Alex. First piercing ever. He took the time to answer my questions and offered me different jewellery options. In the end, the chosen ring was to small and Alex had to change it for a bigger one: a delicate procedure. He manage to do so in no time and (almost) no pain. Overall, my experience was great and although they are not the cheapest, i think the result was worth the buck.

I have been to 25-30 body mod shops altogether. This shop, hands down, has the best customer service I’ve experienced so far. I didn’t catch the name of the individual at the counter whom I spoke with (long red hair), but they and Alex were so pleasant and patient. They seemed happy to answer all of my questions and get me set up with some jewelry and a brand new surface tragus . Quick, pleasant, clean, and well executed - the experience was lovely, start to finish. I will be going back soon. You should go too. Get there early though... parking is a beast.

Its worth the price to have piercing done right. I visited Body M with an appointment for a couple of body piercings. I was matched with a piercer after completing the release formThey made me feel comfortable, and they did a great job -- my piercings look great, and they are healing perfectly thanks to their advice. Very clean and private. I will go here for my next piercing adventure.

I came here for a jewelry change for my first lobes that were pierced elsewhere (I had flatbacks for my starter jewelry and couldnt get them out) on the recommendation of my piercing studio. Nessa helped me get my earrings out and switched me into the earrings I brought with me. She was super professional and clearly well practiced, and, when one of my lobes started bleeding slightly, she very calmly cleaned it and explained to me that my piercing was a little traumatized from the yanking I did trying to get it out. I had spent a week trying to get them out, and was amazed by how easily she was able to do it. She made the process as quick and painless as possible, and I felt very comfortable asking her any questions I had. The girl at the front desk was also very friendly, and overall I had a great experience.

Jessika is amazing! Jess pierced my septum (2mm “12 gauge”) very quick, clean and painless. They made me feel safe and relaxed (everyone there!). This is important because I can have a hard time in social settings sometimes. Everyone was very kind and supportively professional. It just felt like they actually cared about my piercing(s). They had such good music too whenever I went (bonus ✨). I have already gone back and gotten a few more piercings and all my experiences have been 5 stars. I’m taking time to write this review because this place has been very good to me and hopefully one day they’ll get a chance to treat you just as well! I did not rate 5 stars anywhere until this place. Please remember that these are my own experiences and yours may not be 5 stars but this place is definitely worth a try!

They did a perfect job downsizing my piercing.

Excellent place and location. I have purchased most of my jewelry from them even before they moved to this new location. Everyone is supper nice and down to earth. The piercers practice proper sanitation techniques and work with you of your pain threshold. Overall 10/10

Body Manipulations is one of the most well put together studios I’ve ever been to. The staff was so professional, extremely welcoming and very informative. I got pierced by Eldo and he was definitely very up front about everything that was to be expected. He openly walked me through the process and most importantly MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE. Staff here are always so friendly and courteous, always a pleasure.This time, the visit was to piece my daughters ears. Maxs demeanor and banter really helped to put my very nervous daughter at ease (well, as much as can be expected for a12 year old getting pierced for the first time!) Was a wonderful experience.

I have been coming to this shop for at least 7 years and I absolutely love it. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They are dedicated to making sure your experience is as delightful as possible and are always available for questions after your service. While the jewelry selection is not great that the owner selects only the highest of quality materials to sell. All in all, a long time gem of San Francisco and a lovely place to add a unique piece of art to ones self.

Came here a few years back to get a tongue piercing (one of my first dew piercings ever) and the ladies were ever so sweet. Service was kind and welcoming. It definitely made me feel less nervous.Piercing came out well; had no complications or issues. Will definitely go back again for their quality and service.

Alex did so great with me and my 2 sisters! He was very patient and didn’t make me feel rushed or misunderstood about exactly where I wanted my nose piercing. We got 3 piercings and were still done check in and all within an hour. Definitely recommend and someone please tip Alex extra for me cuz I forgot I was gonna give him a cash tip. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Professional and cheery! I got a set of lobe piercings from Alex and had a lovely time. Alex was reassuring, careful, and warm to chat with. Plus, the piercings have been healing very well, with nary a squeak the last two weeks. I would love to come again if I ever want piercings done, and would definitely recommend to everyone else!

I love this place and will only go here to get pierced. They are clean, professional, and super friendly. They pierce mostly in gold, so the jewelry is a bit on the pricey side, but it is worth it to not have a piercing that just wont heal right. Gary is a wonderful piercer and was super patient with me asking have the spot on my nose moved a bunch of times. I have gone to him 3 times now and it always is fantastic. I completely recommend them to everyone. Its better to go during the week rather than the weekend because the line is soooooo much shorter (5-15 min instead of an hour), plus they are open until 7 during the week.

We had an appointment here on July 30th at 12:30 and ended up waiting for at least 30-45 mins while noticing that the people that checked in after us were getting their ears pierced before us. Weird, since we were rushed to select our earrings earlier and yet here we were waiting as if we had no appointment. After the fourth (or fifth) party after us were done getting pierced, we finally approached the person who helped us check in who then told us that we are on the queue and to keep waiting. A few mins later, she realized that she had made a mistake but never apologized or even acknowledged the situation.The guy who pierced our ears was friendly and did a good job, but he did tell us that he doesn’t know where things/tools are located in the room because he’s usually in the room next door (I take this as a sign that they rushed to get us back here ASAP after realizing they had forgotten about us). After getting our ears pierced, we noticed that our earrings were not what we had picked. They had gotten 2 out of 3 wrong. Mine was the right size but the wrong color and one of my sister’s earrings was the wrong size and the wrong color. We didn’t have time to say anything since we had an appointment afterwards, and we were already short on time from the extra wait.Disappointed in the wait time, rude customer service, and getting the wrong earrings.

I was not the one getting pierced, so I suppose you should take my review with a grain of salt.However, as an observer I can say that the location is extremely clean and the staff is amazing. My friend got her upper ear pierced without an appointment. The wait wasnt long and the woman who did the piercing was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and kind. You can tell the staff enjoys what they do.Theres a nice selection of jewelry to choose from.

I had an awesome experience here! Went to get a philtrum piercing, switch two nose rings to studs, and switch my septum ring from a horseshoe to a hoop. Eldo, the piercer who worked with me, was SUPER conscientious and considerate. They noticed the purple opal for my lip was flashing more green than the ones for my nose, so they pulled out a couple others to get the best match possible. They worked with me on the placement of the lip piercing--both listening to my preferences and giving their own advice, and the piercing came out beautiful! When the shop didnt have the right size ring in stock for my septum (there are jewelry shortages happening--not the shops fault!), they suggested stacking the two smaller hoops we had taken out of my nostril in my septum instead, which also came out looking incredible. Overall, Eldo was happy to answer all of my questions, made sure I felt comfortable through the whole process, and gave awesome input/advice based on their clearly extensive piercing experience. Would absolutely recommend this shop/piercer to friends and Ill definitely be going back for future piercing needs!

Ive been here 3 times since 2015. I came here a fourth time on July 3 with the intention of just switching out posts for a couple of my piercings, but since I had an appointment I decided to go for another piercing.Paul, the owner, was there and it was so awesome to finally meet him! He has put so much thought and love into the new space, and it shows. He has a lot to be proud of. The new shop is beautifully done, with a lot more capacity for services, privacy for each client, and beautiful detail in the design, combining both form and function.Ayana helped me at the counter and might be one of the most patient people Ive encountered in recent times. I hemmed and hawed over Do I get a piercing and What jewelry if so? for a solid 30 minutes. I decided against the piercing but then she showed me another set of sparkles, for ideas for the future, and I changed my mind a final time and decided to get the piercing. If Ayana minded at all, she sure didnt show it, and she was so helpful in helping me narrow down options given the location of my piercing and the shape of my ears.Max was my piercer and he is a joy. He quickly switched out the two posts for my older piercings and then got to work on my new piercing, making sure the location was perfect. It was the least painful piercing I have gotten done - probably helps I only got one (vs. two piercings for each of my previous appointments). His piercing came with laughs and songs, too - unexpected but such a breath of fresh air after a very challenging 18 months.Body Manipulations continues to be my go-to for piercings - the space, the jewelry, and most importantly the people, are among the loveliest in the business!

Fantastic piercing shop. The staff are really friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very professional. They ensure that everything is very hygienic and give great advice on how to look after your piercing. It can be quite busy, so you may have to wait if you just walk in, however its totally worth it!

I got my septum re-pierced here after another piercer in SF did it crooked (they told me it has to be crooked due to my deviated septum). Body Manipulations was able to pierce it straight. They were so professional and they know what theyre doing. Awesome customer service. I will be back for my next piercing.

My tattoo experience here was horrible. I booked a consultation appointment online - the website says that if the tattoo is small enough, the artist may do the tattoo in the consultation (since it requires you to book a consult first), so I booked a consult. I arrived at the appointment 10 minutes early and was told the artist was out to lunch. 25 minutes later, the artist still had not arrived and I asked again, the front desk associate was rude to me at this point. The artist arrived 5 minutes before my appointment was scheduled to end, did not apologize for being late, and then told me that she had very important clients later in the day so she couldnt do my tattoo. I ended up getting my deposit back and leaving. Did not appreciate being told that my business is less important than her other clients or having my time wasted. Very frustrating experience here.I did have a great experience at this salon for piercing. My piercer was kind, knowledgable, timely, and very efficient.

I have to say this shop is the friendliest and most inviting one I have ever been into. I was greeted by Alex and we chatted about what I wanted. When in the piercing room he was light hearted and made me feel at ease. The process was fast and easy. I love what he has done. Its a private piercing so I wont be going into detail. A real great place where they follow the right procedure regarding Covid. My daughter wanted her ears pierced, I am glad we went there as Eldo asked us many questions, and we figured out we would be swimming within 3 weeks, which is not recommended. So Eldo and I concluded it was better to wait as to avoid potential infections either in pools or ocean. Really appreciated it as he had already taken everything out to start the ear piercing, but offered a refund, and we agreed on scheduling another time.I thought he was highly professional in asking so many questions and really caring more about the job well done than the transaction. Thanks so much!!

My partner, kid and I went to get some piercings and were able to all sit together. Nessa was great and kept everyone in good spirits and did a wonderful job checking in to make sure everything was ok every step of the way. I took my 10 year old in to get his ears pierced. The technician was so patience and kind as she explained the process and after care. My kid said it didnt hurt one bit. Healed up nicely. I will be coming back to get my additional piercing.

I went in to get my nose pierced I was greeted with smiles and felt very welcome. I had nessa do my piercing, her and I go way back and she was very sweet, and explained how she would pierce me and how to take care of it. She was very fast! I was a little nervous but I trusted her. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants to get a piercing done! And to any parents who have kids who want their ears pierced take them to a shop like this! I would never recommend taking them to Claire’s for it!

I bought some custom jewelry here and had a very good experience. It was actually the wrong size at first but the problem was resolved quickly. The piercer changed the jewelry out very gently and answered all my questions. Theyre on the pricier side but I would definitely go again for body jewelry or piercing needs. They know what theyre doing!

Just went in to replace some studs my pup managed to eat out of my face. Not to worry, he’s fine, but I definitely couldn’t find a quality 18g threadless stud online. The staff is super friendly and the jewelry gorgeous. You can expect SF pricing. If you’re looking for a cheaper option (per other reviews), you’ll get the experience and jewelry you’d expect for cheap. Karissa was so awesome!! Checked in the whole time, was super attentive to the experience. Girl, if I ever get a double on the other side, you’re doing it.

I am a Pediatrician and I brought my 9 year old daughter in to have her ears pierced. I could not imagine a more friendly, aboveboard, sterile and professional experience. The piercings were expertly done, and healed beautifully without a hint of redness or drop of drainage.Highly recommended!

Nice and clean place. They will make you take a picture of your license and keep it for their record which I found weird. Also you have to buy the piercing from there and they only have a few options that are $80 plus, thats only for the piercing so on top of that they will charge $50 + taxes not including the $20 I paid online just to make an appointment. It was fast and the staff was very professional and clean, I am happy with the result but they are overpriced.

10/10 experience! Great atmosphere and Ayana was the sweetest and made me feel so comfortable getting my two dermals removed from her! I had the dermals for 10 years and she made it a really quick and smooth removal process.

Perfectly clean and adequate, misleading and expensive. VERY into gender and what guys want vs girls want. Not upfront about extremely expensive services and jewelry. They casually offered us to reinsert an earring that had fallen off a perfectly healed piercing, which we were perfectly willing and able to do on our own, and then charged us 30$ for it. Did not really give us options on gauge sizes and gave my partner a tiny gauge bc they thought its what girls want. The person piercing me was very rough. Not my first piercing but my last here.

Love this place! I have a few cartilage piercings, once of which Jessie executed brilliantly. She was also sweet enough to change the jewelry for my existing daith and nipple piercings. Will absolutely go back. Very clean, beautiful jewelry and friendly staff.

I got my second ear lobe piercings done about a year ago by Tony. He was very professional and the piercings have healed wonderfully. I also bought earrings from the online shop and their customer service is great!

Came here for a septum piercing, my first of any piercing since I got my ears done as a teen. Had to wait a bit longer than expected but my piercer was totally sweet and my boredom made my anxiety much better 😂 the process was very transparent and quick. If I ever want another piercing, Ill come back!

When I turned 18, I drove to SF to have my belly button pierced at Body Manipulations. Back then they were the *only* choice for professional piercing. They did a great job. It is well placed, healed quickly and has lasted perfectly for ...ahem...many years. Highly recommend this shop for expert knowledge, skilled hands and impeccable standards of health and safety.

I needed a new piece of jewelry for my helix piercing because I took my other one out and lost the front 😥 I came here because of the positive reviews and it was close to my work. Great selection of jewelry, although a bit pricey (the piece I got was ~$175). Eldo helped me put it in and was very kind and professional and helpful. I would definitely come back here if I get another piercing.

Wanted a Travis piercing for my birthday. Read reviews and decided to get pierced here. Met Eldo as soon as I walked in. He was so friendly and welcoming that I knew I picked the right place & met the right person.I picked out a tiny Swarovski clear crystal stud with a titanium bar. Eldo made me feel comfortable and took his time explaining the aftercare to me. I took a deep breath in and was pierced while I exhaled. Absolutely no pain.The whole experience cost about $100 before tip.The healing took about three months, I had some swelling and kept soaking with sea salt so there was no issue. I’m healed nicely after four months.

I never post reviews, but I had to after my amazing piercing experience today! I went in for a cartilage piercing. The entire staff is incredible- so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I got my piercing by Gary and he was beyond awesome! I was feeling a bit faint afterwards, and he immediately knew what to do- lowered my chair, put my feet up, and he even ran to get me a lollypop! I cannot recommend this place enough- theres simply nowhere else to go if youre looking to get a piercing in San Francisco.

I can highly recommend Eldo for any and all piercings. He is super professional, explains everything before he does it, and is great about washing his hands, changing gloves, and keeping everything sterile. He has done multiple piercings for me and they all are placed well and have healed perfectly. Will return, thanks!

Dont go there for like removal or insertion or consultant, because they will charge you $30 bucks lol. American steel piercing charges $5 for that and there are shop that has free consultation. Piercing is $30 service fee and earrings are $45 plus.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Its been 10 years since my last piercing and I was nervous. After research on daith piercings for migraines, I was ready for any pain to possibly decrease the pain of migraines. Little did I know I was going to work with Nessa, who had a Double Daith piercing and hasnt had a headache since. She could not have been a better combination of professional, supportive, calming, and funny. The piercing didnt hurt at all. I will never get pierced anywhere else, and I cannot wait to decide what I want done next.

I’ve taken my daughter here for ear piercings twice (she has her ears double pierced). The staff are kind and professional. The place is spotless. Even with something as simple as an ear piercing it is worth paying a little more to know it is being done right.

I got my tragus pierced last November and I was super nervous! He explained the process and made me feel comfortable. He even checked my other piercings because I thought they may have closed up. This experience was well worth the price! Now that my tragus has healed up, I contacted Body Manipulations via Facebook and they ordered a piercing I wanted and have been keeping me in the loop as to when it would arrive. My friend and I booked an apt to get new piercings and we had an amazing experience. The shop is really modern, roomy and feels very clean. I was amazed at the jewerly collection compared to other places Ive been. You can get a cute piercing directly instead of the ugly titanium stud. We got our piercings done by Eldo who was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. He even recommended what piercings to do to my friend who wasnt sure and the result was amazing. Weve now had our piercings for 3 weeks and there is no swelling, pain or anything. The whole experience was very smooth and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe piercing experience!Edit:I just went back today to get new piercing and brought friends as well. We were welcomed by Alex and he was SPECTACULAR! He was really patient and thoughtful even when we asked to change piercings more than 5 times. Jess pierced my helix on NYE. She was very warm and inviting, a real professional. She could tell I was nervous and was making jokes to calm me down. She was fantastic, next time I get a piercing, I want it to be Jess.

The employees were supportive and pacent. I had anxiety concerning the pain of two slightely upper ear perceings. They explained my available options. After I signed the agreement. I sat down and waited. It was about 4:30 p.m. on a Monday. The wait time for me, was 45 minutes. The pain was less then dental braces. The next day the pain was almost entirely gone. From my experience, getting pearceings for the first time, I came out with a good, double ear perceing experience.

Got two piercings by Jess and I love them. Great atmosphere, very friendly, and clean. Plan on coming back again soon.

It deserves the 8 billion 5 star ratings it has. Theyre professional, clean, and they model the options so you can see what they look like! The average time for an ear or belly button seems to be about 30 minutes to an hour and theyll let you know when its going to be longer.
