Putting ink on your body permanently is a big deal. Finding the right shop and trusting the artist is key. There are a lot of shops in town, but I have never found a better studio. Gabriel placed the most exquisite piece of art on my shoulder and upper arm. Take the time to interview your artist and find the best. Lost Edge is a private shop that is open by appointment only. No walk-ins ruin the vibe. It is a shop full of professional artists. I couldnt be happier.

Cannot say enough great things about my experience with Cory James at Lost Edge. I am not a creative person, but Cory was able to turn the idea I had in my head into a ridiculously detailed and amazing tattoo.I think he is without a doubt one of the best tattoo artists in the country and my experience with him and his studio reflects that. Will definitely be going to back to him for other tatts and highly recommend him to others as well.

Gabriel absolutely crushed it! I emailed him my ideas and let him run with it and what he came up with exceeded my expectations. His professionalism and attention to detail were second to none. Great overall experience at Lost Edge Tattoo! To start, the location is convenient, has ample parking in a covered garage, and the studio shop is very nice. Heather was very helpful getting all of the paperwork completed and making me feel at ease since this was my first session there. Andres did an incredible job designing both of my tattoos and working with me to ensure they were exactly what I wanted. Both of my tattoos had a ton of fine line work, and Andres steady hand made both look absolutely incredible! While I didnt have any work done by Thyris and Valentina, I did get to see their work first hand and it was also world-class! Ill definitely be going back and would recommend Lost Edge and Andres to everyone!

Clean, spacious studio with awesome customer service.The mix of music was great too as it wasnt all just one genre but a mix.I did 3 days in a row here and definitely recommend the studio/artists at Lost Edge tattoo.The artists were all friendly, laid back and are nice to hold conversations with. I tried to communicate by Facebook and call no answer. I drove an hour away to see if I can get an inquiry on prices and other questions pertaining to the artist. As soon as I arrived to the shop, the receptionist told me to book an appointment online and that it’s months out and I explained to her I am not getting a tattoo and drove an hour away and had some questions and her response is,” That sucks everything is online.” I was by no means trying to get a tattoo today, I had some questions on the process, price and length. I am trying to get a large back tattoo done and I am sure she could have even helped me out but did not want to. Cory your work looks amazing! Such a shame I could not even get some answers in regards to the process.

Had an 8 hour session with Cory James a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to finally finish a sleeve that I had started several years ago. The booking process was easy, and being able to upload source material onto their site made the planning process much faster, which left more time for the tattoo. The studio is really nice and the staff was very welcoming. The aftercare cream they sent me home with was really great compared to aquaphor, I was sad when I ran out of their stuff. Its been a long time since my last tattoo, and the technology with the machine and inks seems like its come a long way because it really is a huge difference. The price of the session was a bit of a shock at first, but when you break down the amount of hours of work that goes into it and the fact itll be with you forever I was happy to pay. It was 500$ to reserve the date and another 2500$ plus tip once the session was complete. Id definitely recommend their shop for any serious tattoo.

Incredible experience at lost edge with a very gifted artist! Cory was detailed across every aspect of tattoo planning and implementation, and was very accommodating to ensure I was comfortable during our 8 hr session. Highly recommend! I just finished my third session with Cory James and he is a professional to the max!!!His staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable and he even allows me smoke cigar’s while he works. Nice studio. They did a good job but they are EXPENSIVE. It was my very first tattoo and I ended up paying around $2000 for a 4.5 hour session. Being a new customer and new to tattoos in general, not sure if thats low or high for a custom 5x7 tattoo. The artist that worked on me was cordial but not friendly. However, Heather the studio manager was a joy to work with. All in all, I probably wont go back simply because Ive seen comparable work at other studios at a much more affordable price point.

Over 20 years of looking at my old tattoos. My wife orchestrated a Christmas gift with my kids and family to force me to get them covered or fixed. @henrryink is an amazing artist and absolutely thank him and @lostedgetattoo for this amazing art work!!

I explained to him what I wanted, and that I was open to him letting his creativity shine through. He drew up a beautiful piece. I only had him make one simple revision. Otherwise, it was exactly what I was looking for. He was friendly and professional. The entire experience from start to finish was great. Came here for my first tattoo experience and Cory killed it. Tweaked the original design we had so that it would fit flush on the part of my arm I wanted. It came out better than I had imagined.

Corey is hell of an artist and truly has a style all his own , the skin breaks are styled perfectly, lines are crisp and shading between light and dark values are flawless. Great artistic vision and composition for bigger projects . I went in with a pretty rough idea and decided to give Him the freedom and glad that i did. I worked with Cory and Heather and my experience was great. Heather was very responsive and accommodating with any requests that I had prior to or during my session. If you uber, it will take you to the entrance to the West Koenig Flats Apartment Homes. Just because the studio is in an apartment home does NOT mean this is a dirty non-professional sketchy business. I had work done by Cory and I can tell he is there primarily for one thing, to create a great tattoo.The uniqueness of the art around the studio shows me they dont just do what tattoo shops do, but saw an opportunity to run a better tattoo shop different from the rest. When you arrive, you are not a burden for them to do their duty but an opportunity for them to make a great piece of art that is mutually beneficial. The staff was excellent. With the financial/life context I have, this was worth it and I would do it again.

My experience was with Cory. Let me start with the tattoo itself is absolutely beautiful! He does amazing work! No questions there.The only thing I thought was different when I got there it took him almost 2 1/2 hours to sketch the work. My experience that was done before but he’s the artist. Then we finished an hour early. And I still paid for the total 8 hours of work. I’ve never experienced that before usually I have paid for total tattooing time. I would of appreciated more clarity on that. Like no matter what you pay for 8 hours whether it’s drawing or finishing early.

I wanted to get a memorial tattoo for my father who passed. Thyris put his heart and soul into my tattoo because he was very into the stories I gave him about my father. Couldn’t ask for a better tattoo artist and the environment was so comfortable and absolutely clean, they were very nice. Heather gave me a bag of goodies and Cory who is the owner gave me one of him shorts which really made me feel appreciated and I was grateful. Definitely coming back here soon!

The tattoo was exactly what I wanted so that part I was very happy with. The experience itself was a bit disappointing though, especially for the premium price charged. The girl at the front was great and honestly had it not been for her I would probably give it less stars but she was very welcoming and communicative and was the only one who said anything to me the entire time I was there. My tattoo artist doesn’t speak English so I just sat in silence for over two hours during the tattoo with no communication at all so it just felt very awkward and uncomfortable. Fortunately my tattoo was pretty straightforward so during the planning part the only communication required was picking a font and spacing which was done by pointing. But I wish I had known there would be a language barrier prior to arriving because not being able to communicate with the tattoo artist really does impact the experience and I feel that information should have been disclosed upfront.

From start to finish, it was amazing. The preliminary consult over the image and its pros and cons - everything made sense. I felt like my concerns were addressed, like I was listened to and I was put at ease. I was never worried about the art, your body of work speaks for itself. What surprised me was the vibe of the entire facility. There are works of art there that would humble any museum or gallery. Learning about the artists, even a freakishly talented 22 year old, was inspiring. Even the periodic offering of snacks and drinks felt geniunely sincere and friendly. You have a great formula for success in place, and your business is well-deserved. Wife already fell in love with the horse on my arm. That Saturday was the best day Id had in a long time. That feeling was better than any therapy session. That sounds weird, I know, but its a compliment.

Cory James is hands down the best tattoo artist I have ever worked with. Not only is his work stunning, but the entire experience as a whole is professional and enjoyable. The Studio:Lost Edge Tattoo is absolutely amazing, I would 10/10 recommend it. For starters, the shop was very clean and had a chill vibe to it, which matched perfectly with the friendly nature of everyone there. I was able to enjoy some complimentary drinks in the waiting area while watching TV and talking to the receptionist. The music playing throughout the entire studio was a nice touch, with quality synced speakers set up in each room .The Experience:Tyler, a visiting artist, really took the time to talk through my tattoo idea and offer some really great recommendations and advice. He drafted a couple different options for me, with my wants and needs always at the forefront of the conversation. I very much felt like it was a collaborative design effort with me always being the lead.Also, Tyler took into consideration my future tattoo plans when designing the piece. Making sure to leave opportunity and patters that would allow for the next artist to flow into the piece organically, which I very much appreciated.The Result:All in all, I ended up leaving with a piece 10x better than what I walked in anticipating to get.Already booked my next appointment to work with Cory!

Had an awesome experience getting a memorial tattoo earlier this week. I knew this was a really popular studio so was thrilled to see that I could make an appointment with their newest artist, Thyris, pretty much right away. FYI - Thyris may be new to the studio but hes been tattooing for years and his portfolio spans all kinds of styles and themes and its all gorgeous. I provided a little bit of guidance for what I was looking for and he designed a beautiful tattoo that I absolutely love - the perfect combination of the feeling I wanted to evoke as a memorial to a friend and his own artistry. Plus hes a chill dude who let me chat his ear off the whole time which I appreciated :D The studio itself is beautiful, clean, and bright and they have snacks and big comfy chairs to sit in while you wait. Overall stellar experience, already planning my next visit :)

Adres is a true artist who cares about his work, and pays attention to every tiny detail. Really enjoyed my time with him and the staff.

I first sought out Cory and placed a $500 deposit for a full day appointment with him. A business deal I had pending did not close in time to follow thru with my scheduled appointment. That $500 deposit I accepted the loss on. Once my business deal closed, I went back to schedule another appointment and came across Henry’s work. For $500 less a day (the $500 i loss initially was my thought process) I could get the work I wanted done that was very consistent with his style. I placed another $500 deposit and scheduled a full day with Henry this time instead. I sent in all kinds of inspo photos and thoroughly explained my idea for the piece I wanted put together. I was notified by email that my appointment was accepted and confirmed by Henry. Come the morning of my appointment, Henry text me about two hours prior wanting to reschedule due to back pain. I told him I wouldn’t be available again for at least another two months because I had a medical procedure coming up that would take some recovery time. He said he’d prefer to follow thru with the appointment that day instead. I show up to the appointment to first learn that Henry and I would be working with each other through an interpreter as he does not speak English. I remained in the lobby of the shop for three hours while we attempted to come up with my tattoo design. I was on display for three other people (one being the interpreter) the entire time. No client privacy for photos being taken of my face and my body, or for the creative process in general. Ultimately, I felt like I wasn’t being heard at all. Every suggestion I had was determined impossible by his standard. It was an extremely “pick it and stick it” style experience based not on the inspo photos I provided, but rather the ones he had available in the tablet device he was using to “create” my design. This was extremely frustrating for me because this piece was supposed to honor the loss of my mother, father and sister — I never felt that part was even acknowledged or considered of any significance to him in the creative process at all. After three hours of no progress, and countless rejected alternative options I proposed, I said I would rather lose my deposit than end up with something I do not really love on my body permanently. He assured me I would not have to lose my deposit and could instead reschedule for another day while we work on the design together thru text in the meantime. We shook hands and I left. My appointment was April 20th. As of last week, I have text him now twice with more design ideas, and have received no response from him in return. In total, I took a loss of $1000 towards seeking what I thought would be a quality tattoo experience. Extremely disappointed. To be completely fair, I can say that while waiting in the lobby for three hours, Cory came in for an appt with a client and immediately the client was taken back to Cory’s workspace. The design portion seemed to be completed promptly and privately, with the work beginning soon after. I would have continued with my first thought and went with Cory had I known my experience with Henry would be so incredibly unprofessional.

Cory is a talented tattoo artist. He has a great eye and vision for design. His studio is clean, professional and comfortable and the entire process and experience was perfect. I already have additional sessions planned and cant recommend Cory enough.

Lost Edge Tattoo and Henrry Bravo are both world class legends in my book! The Studio has a great vibe, from the people to the art on the walls. I just got my first large piece the other day and I never had a doubt thanks to the amazing professional folks there and the clean and stellar conditions of the studio. I will be going back for my next one (though after 7 hr’s under the needles it’s probably not gonna be soon)

When I first moved to Austin I googled best black and white tattoo artist in Austin. Sure enough you can probably guess who came up, if you cannot guess then have the person reading this to you give it a shot. Anyhow I took some screen shots of tattoos I had liked, one image specifically was exactly the style I had wanted. Cory took time to review the pictures and asked when I would like to get started. I asked when he had finished drawing something up to let me know and I would take a look then setup a time. I was soon told that this was not the way he worked and that he was more of a freehand artist, I couldn’t be more happy with Cory’s design. His pieces are obviously one of a kind as he does not duplicate anyone else’s images but creates his own as he goes. I have had multiple sessions with Cory and still have a few to go before it is completed. His work is worth every dollar and more, I try to schedule after each session for his next available time as he is obviously popular and for good reason! Thyris was the consummate professional who took my input and developed an incredible grey and black tattoo to help me pay tribute to my wife and the finality that life and death holds over me. And then we spent some serious time together bringing that design to life on half of my back. The process isn’t an easy one but Thyris made it completely worthwhile with his skills as demonstrated in my amazing tattoo. Will definitely use him again and highly recommend their shop.

Great chairside manner. Ive never had a piece done that hurt so little and healed so fast. Cory is amazingly gentle.On the upper end of price but you get what you pay for. Book early, hes very busy, for good reason!

I wanted to do something to represent my son and my love of history so I went with an “Alexander the Great” theme.Both sessions came out better than the original ancient art that it was based off of IMO!!!This is a premium VIP experience and the way that I look at it is; I can only wear one Rolex at a time so instead of buying another watch; I wanted the Rolex of tattoos (which to me means something that is timeless and does NOT go in or out of style it’s just timeless).To have premium artwork done on your body you have to be willing to pay a premium for that type of work and you have to wait patiently to get your turn to work with Cory James to go on that Ride with him!!!To me Cory James is more than a tattoo artist he is a lifestyle consultant!!!I look forward to my next session in August!!!!

I had a great first tattoo experience with Thyris that felt more like a visit with a cousin than a first interaction. He walked me through the process from start to finish, ensured I was comfortable and had all information I needed, provided some great conversation along the way. The decor is what youd expect from a high-quality artistic establishment from the beautiful painting that greet you in the lobby to the subtle interior decorating gems through the location.

Amazing artist. Worth the wait. I was definitely an annoying client, but he worked with me, and in the end, everything was way better than anything I could have imagined up. I have several tattoos that I’ve gotten from several different artists, but I don’t know any other artists I’d trust as much as I trust Cory. I’m 1-2 sessions from having a full L arm sleeve (all done by Cory) and every piece has come out amazing. Cory’s line work, shading, and vision is on par with the industry greats.I’ve done a lot of research on black & grey artists and can say for a fact that Cory’s in the upper echelon not just in Texas, but across the globe. Everyone that works in the studio is super chill and friendly. I get flash tats/spontaneous ink done a few different places, but when I need some heavy work done Cory’s my go-to guy.

Cory is a consummate professional. I found him on Instagram after trying to find the best possible tattoo artist for my first tattoo. My tattoo was pretty complex and he took a solid 5 hours drawing it out with me to get it right. Then we crushed 6 plus hours tattooing it and it came out flawless. If you look at his Instagram, it is the one that is a big clock on an inner arm. AHe was more expensive than many of the tattoo artists I found, but was so much better it was unreal. Worth every single penny and more! If you are looking for a budget artist, I would go elsewhere, but you will get what you pay for. If you want something incredible, Cory is the guy!On top of that, he was enjoyable to chat with and I could not have asked for a better experience for my first tattoo.When I get another tattoo, I will 100% be using Cory!

Great experience all around, highly recommended! Thyris is awesome, thorough, and focuses on the finest details.The place is really nice, cool artwork everywhere, and everything was very clean and organized. It could have been something I missed, but I didn’t know where to park. I ended up parking behind the building which wasn’t a problem, but I just wasn’t sure where I was supposed to go. Other than that, everything was great.Now the tattoo. I mostly knew what I wanted in my tattoo and Thyris helped put it together into a beautiful piece with some excellent cursive added too. There’s a reason he’s an award winning artist!

7/12/19 EDIT: Ive been back for a second piece, which lasted 2 days. Cory took the reference illustration and made corrections to the anatomy. He really spent a lot of time making sure placement was correct. Its a large piece, and the details are amazing. Im so glad I went to him for this tattoo. Hes incredibly talented, professional, and a perfectionist to boot.--------------- 1 year agoCory is incredibly talented and took on a sleeve continuation when nobody else wanted to. He exceeded my expectations and my tattoo has incredible flow. I love it. Also, the aftercare salve he uses during the tattoo (and what you take home to use afterwards) speeds up healing to a degree that the tattoo peeled very minimally. I look forward to going back to him in the future. Great artist, and a badass boxer to boot.

My artist was Henrry Bravo and had a 2 session shoulder/arm piece done at Lost Edge studio. I filled out the application form on the website and Henrry contacted me within a couple of days. We had a few back and forth emails and after reviewing Henrrys portfolio setup my first session. Lost Edge studio is clean, unique, and highly professional. Henrry is a magician with a tattoo needle and kept on surprising me throughout the process. I had an idea with some requirements for my tattoo but told Henrry everything else was up to his creative freedom. His corner of the studio fit much in line with my kind of personality and had some shows on in the background to watch while getting my tattoo done. I was impressed with what I got in my first session, but the second session knocked me out of my socks. This session is where the actual magic happened where all the details were added in. WOW. I cannot express how happy I am with the end result. It is infinitely better than the idea I had in my head beginning this trip. Everyone who has viewed this tattoo is in complete awe over it.All that praise said, I do have a few minor caveats (not enough to change a star rating). I did have some difficulty finding the studio as I relied on Apple Maps to give me directions, which leads you into an Apartment Complex parking lot. Wish the website (or email) had a little information regarding parking and finding the studio. Also the studio is not your average 9-5 shop, so arriving earlier than my appointment was a slight mistake on my part as Henrry and his assistant were running a bit late. I ended up waiting a bit, but nothing bad. Scheduling the second session proved to be challenging. His assistant was supposed to contact me but I never got an email or call. I ended up contacting the studio and asking if they could help and after a few emails got it taken care of. I want to stress that these are minor issues that dont take away from the overall experience, which again is amazing.Definitely will be a repeat customer if they let me when I get my next idea-to-skin.

Cory did my inside forearm few years ago then came back to finish it to a whole sleeve. My experience for both was great! Very nice guy! He will explain everything to you from placement and darkness to light. I definitely will comeback for my other body parts.

Very reasonably priced for one of the best artists in Austin (I didnt give him that title, form.ink did). He works quickly but extremely accurately.

Charged 6 hours when 3 hours of work was realistically done. There was a language barrier due to Henrry speaking only Spanish, which is fine, however he showed up 30 minutes late to our appointment,stayed on his phone the entire time sending audio messages, facetimeing others and on social media. He also made sure he took a lunch break an hour into our session and took more time helping his coworkers with printing something his boss could not. On top of the poor time management, he also canceled the day before on me which i was okay with since i took numerous days off from work thankfully. Then he occasionally worked on one of the three pieces we agreed on, all to then wrap it up quickly in the last hour by rushing as much as he could since he had another client coming in and stated we will have to reserve another spot to finish and his next opening was November, 3 months out. Once he asked me how $1500 dollars was without tip, i shook my head and paid the full amount for a third of the work we agreed on. Quality is definitely not an issue and he is talented for sure, but caring about the customer and working efficiently is definitely not in his strong suit.

Cory did a great job. I had idea in my head and he put it all together. Cory is a busy guy so plan ahead. I sat for 6.5 hrs for the first session and almost 7hrs for 2nd session. He worked around some spots that were a little sensitive and gave me a chance to rest.As we talked I truly appreciate that he remembered a small tid bit and he incorporated it my tattoo!!. I did not even know this until I saw it 2 wks later. Also he took great care to blend and shade around another tattoo I had.I have nothing but positive things to say. Cory and price for the work he did was more than fair. If you want to pay flash wall tattoo prices head somewhere else. Cory is an artist and I feel he wanted to make sure the tattoo was reflection of that.Just my 2cents but highly recommend Cory.

Ive had 2 sessions with Cory (so far) for a piece hes doing with me. Cory has consistently been incredibly professional during each session, and the piece is incredibly high quality. Ive trusted his judgement on many decisions (main ones on overall tattoo design and on shading) so far and theyve REALLY paid off!

I have been going to Henrry for several sessions. Loved the studio, felt comfortable and the place is kept well. The studio is by appointment only, which is awesome. Henrry has done great work on my arm. Definitely recommend. Traveled all the way from Houston!!!!
