Great experience from start to finish. Mom is a fantastic business owner, and I will definitely be trusting her and her crew with my art in the future. My fiancé and I went in on a whim (his first tattoo, my 4th), and we hadnt picked an artist or much more than an idea for our tattoos. Within an hour, we had designs we both loved, and were placed with appropriate artists. We heard a couple of young girls come in and he and haw over the big decision to get a first tattoo, and mom handled them the way you would want your kid to be treated. She patiently reminded them it is a forever decision, and she would be the last person to encourage them to just go for it. I love that. She cares about people and it shows. Her artists are phenomenal, her shop is clean, and her reasonable prices reflect the quality of the work. Cant recommend this business enough.

I got my first tattoo here, and although I had an initial idea, my tattoo artist Billy offered amazing suggestions on incorporating color and different perspectives. Looking back, I realize that without his input, my tattoo wouldn’t have been nearly as vibrant or unique. The final result exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier with it. The entire experience was awesome and the vibe was welcoming and professional. I highly recommend this place for anyone considering a tattoo, and specifically Billy for all your landscape tattoo needs.

Cannot rave about this place enough. Daughter turned 18 and wanted her first tattoo to be done in Austin. Took a chance and just showed up, no appointment. WOW we were blown away by everyones hospitality. Donny exceeded our daughters expectations for her first piece. I decided to get a small finger tat and touch up 2 others I had, LOVED ROACH. Def will be back for the husband and few other pieces for ourselves. WORTH THE DRIVE. Sorry SA...we might have the better tacos, but the have the better tattoo artists.

Late to the game on this one but absolutely A+ plus PLUS. I was a walk in during the eclipse and they squeezed me in somehow same day calling in. Playing killer deep cuts on the stereo the whole time, artist designed the exact tattoo I wanted in no time, awesome conversation with the crew. Texas bee balm made in house for the after care? No problem. Looking at the little sweetheart on my arm three months later and smiling ear to ear. Thank you guys!

I had my appointment with brooke.Cant say enough good things about her and the shop.This piece took about 2.5 ish hours. I think their prices are fair. I looked threw all the artist portfolios on instagram and you really cant go wrong with any of them. Theres a style for everyone here.The whole place was friendly and inviting. About two years I emailed Mom and told her my idea and the story behind why I wanted the tattoo that would need to be a cover-up. She drew something better than I could have ever imagined. Two years later it still looks amazing and I adore it. The conversations we had while she me gave me the tattoo will stick with me for life. I was going through a rough time and she was part of my healing process. I just went back and had a tiny tattoo done that is exactly what I needed and once again Mom was able to take my idea and turn it into something even better than I imagined! The shop is clean, the artists are super nice and it has a good Austin vibe! I will be back.

Got my first tattoo here last October, and another one last month. Donny designed two GORGEOUS tattoos for me. I gave him a vague idea and some reference pictures and he managed to turn it into something unique and beautiful. His designs lined up so well with the vision in my head, almost like he could read my mind! Everyone in the shop was so friendly and professional. I was really nervous about my first one but everyone was so chill and welcoming it ended up being a great experience! Donny, Kasha, Brooke, and Manny were all so calm it totally erased my anxiety! I appreciate that they patiently explained everything to me and answered all my questions! Will definitely be returning at some point :)

The reviews about Moms Tattoos are true - this place is great. Mom aka Deb and I collaborated via email about a month in advance to put together a design for my wifes birthday tattoo (see attached). Deb is very kind and easy to work with as long as you are respectful and come with at least some sort of an idea of what you want. She helped simplify my design and it came out better than I imagined. Every tattoo artist had projects they were working on that day and everyone was very nice. Their pricing is fair and the overall environment is very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo in the Austin area. We will be back - Thanks!

Billy was fantastic! Came in as a walk-in and they had me in & out in around 45 minutes. The tattoo was exactly what I had envisioned and I’m so glad he was able to bring it to life! Pricing was great, especially compared to my other tattoo that was a lot smaller from another shop in Dallas. Amazing place & will definitely go back when I get my next one!

UPDATE: went in today and Brooke did the tattoo. She was lovely and did an excellent job. I appreciate Mom turning what started out as an unfortunate experience into a good one. Thanks so much Brooke and Mom’s.Id like to preface this by saying that Im sure the folks at this shop do great work and are excellent artist, so not trying to discourage anyone from getting ink done here. But my experience was... not great. I am traveling to Austin from out of town, and wanted to get a tattoo that is an exact replica of a drawing of a highland cow done by Scott Hutchison, the lead singer of Frightened Rabbit who took his own life in 2018. His music saved my life-- its a big reason Im still here today and I wanted the tattoo as a memorial to that. I made an appointment in advance and sent a photo of a drawing. The artist called the drawing child-like and asked if Id like it improved. I said no, and acknowledged that although its not maybe the most beautiful art, its meaningful to me and art is subjective. Well I just got a call from the artist, who told me that they have to cancel the appointment, because the tattoo was so ugly and they essentially didnt want it out in the world with their name on it. It was also apparently passed around the whole shop, and everyone else thought it was ugly too. Dont get me wrong, it is absolutely a tattoo artists prerogative to deny service, I dont fault them for that. But it was so insulting that I honestly wish they would have just lied and said they double booked a client and couldnt fit me in.

Great staff. Deb (Mom) was super helpful in talking us through our design ideas and what we wanted to do to remember our sweet pup Rose who passed. She helped us come up with designs we were super happy with. She was patient with us, especially me (Im a huge wuss). She even talked to us about after care to make sure we healed well and got the heat results possible. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get work done.

I got a spirit animal tattoo from Roach about 2 weeks ago. He did a fabulous job. Better than I could have Imagined. If you need a pet portrait he’s your guy. I followed his instruction to the letter and it healed in 7 days. I can’t wait to go back up and have him take care of an old piece. Mom’s, if your looking for a great place to get some good ink, it’s the place.

This studio is so friendly. Kasha Wildbird just finished a two session, 14-hour lower leg celtic half sleeve for me, and I am stoked! Check it out. The whole studio is one big family, and I really enjoy my time there getting to know them and swapping stories. Kasha is such a professional, a real artist, and truly works hard to make your ideas come true. I highly recommend Kasha and this studio for large and small works of art! I scheduled my sessions but walk-ins are welcome too.

If you are looking for quality work with amazing artists, dont go anywhere else. Ive been working with Blake since last July on a memorial piece for my kids and all I had to do was give him the details and let him run with it. Great original work and hes got a super light touch. Super happy with my experience and cant wait until I get more work done!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first tattoo.Mom (Debbie) is the sweetest and she made me feel super comfortable. All my questions as an anxious first timer were answered in detail, she even let me switch my artist despite me giving my deposit and deciding i was gonna get a tattoo by her.I finally ended up getting a tattoo by Blake Chambers (one of the artists at mom’s). I gave him my idea and he came up with a fantastic design..Super chill guy and super laid back..excellent with the stuff he does.Ive attached a picture of my tattoo, I got it done on 29th of June so its been around 10 days. Ive only used the soap and healing balm that were given to me for no additional costs. The tattoo seems to be healing well and i have been getting a ton of compliments. I just cannot stop looking at it in the mirror and smiling at it :)Will definitely come back to mom’s for my future tattoos as the service is professional, atmosphere is friendly, the people are awesome!Stay blessed!!

Mom is so good at making sure everyones experience goes well. Shes been in this location for 21 years. My fiancé and I both had work done by Jacob. He did very well. Good vibes there. Much appreciated.

First tat in my 69 years. My son bought it for his mom as a birthday present. The entire experience was a great one. The vibe was upbeat, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Mom is the real deal, a gem, and very sincere and accommodating. I was thrilled with my artist, Manny. He was very professional, just the greatest guy youd ever want to meet. I am an artist. Beforehand, I had been concerned that I may have an overly critical eye. I can honestly say I could not be happier with my tattoo. Thank you Manny. I highly recommend Moms.

Just want to show off my snazzy cover up by Brooke! I was super comfortable in the shop, and she knew my ribcage hurt, so she gave me options to take breaks and such. We got rid of those cinnamon stick logs and the coloring book look. I finally have something Im happy to look at. All the people I have shown love the cover up! Cant wait to plan more 😊

My wife loves the place we are not close and drive about 3 hours to get here. I believe Jordan was the artist that did her 1st and 2nd so far.He seems very professional. Added more detail to a drawing he had already worked up for her weeks ago ( they spoke via Instagram about ideas).I would reccomend him any day of the week if youre in the area or are willing to make a small trip.

I am in love with place from the amazing owner to her artistic staff I am a die hard fan of this tattoo shop. The moment you drive up you see this cool bright yellow house next you walk and you are greeted by the owner who is tattooed from neck down she the sweetest person you will ever meet! The tattoo artist I see is Roach he is a truly talented and professional artist! The tattoo I posted on this review is dedicated to my 5 year olds dad who died at the tender age of 37 on 10/1/22 it truly is a masterpiece I am so loyal to this tattoo shop I drive from Houston to Austin about every 6 months. When I come for a tattoo I make it a trip to get away for a little me time I find this to be mediation for me. Mom’s tattoo is the only place to visit in Austin when you want a place that is clean, knowledgeable, professional. and filled with talented artist this is your place hands down! I wanted a memorial piece for my niece and nephew. It had to be done a true 512 original shop and Moms is just that, please dont ever leave that building. I showed Manny a few similar tats I liked and my only must have was their initials. This custom tattoo by Manny is way better than I asked for

Been seein Brooke for about a year and a half now, and have an even split of original pieces and Star Wars characters. Not only is Brooke a badaas, everyone at Moms is dope and the shop is a fun environment to be in. Recommend them to all my friends.

Cant speak more highly of Moms Tattoos! I chose them because they had great reviews, and now I can see why. I had a tattoo on my side ribs done by Manny and he did a fantastic job. Everyone working there was friendly and professional, and the location itself was clean. Wanted a place for quick walk in(horse with hat) Called and they were able to get me in within 30 mins. Immediately the vibes were amazing and everyone was so welcoming! lovely experience and wonderful work done by manny!! Super clean, very affordable, and one of my fav shops! followed my reference picture perfectly and even made the heart red(which I wasn’t planning but loveee!) he also did a super quick touch up on a tattoo I had gotten at another place!! tattoo was super quick and almost painless. would highly recommend to others and would definitely come back :)

Forgot to post about my experience with Blake at Moms tattoos. This was my first large tattoo and Blake helped a lot with the placement and size. He also hand drew exactly what I was looking for and wow did he do a great job. The colors pop and the tattoo is awesome. As we know tattoos usually carry some meaning to them and this one very important to me since I had just moved back from Hawaii. Blake is not only a great artist but a wonderful person to be around while he was doing his work on me. Epic man, epic, good job! Mahalos 🤙🏻

I had a great experience at Moms Tattoos yesterday. I called last minute to see if they could fit me in and Sarah was very friendly. When I showed up, Blake had some time and , within a few minutes, had sketched up what I wanted. The shop is clean and has its own parking lot out back. Blake was very professional and my tattoo looks great! Really clean line work. I am so excited with how it turned out and I cant wait to show it off. I would definitely recommend Blake and Sarah, and Moms Tattoos, to future customers.

Best tattoo experience I’ve had in Austin! I went in with my best friend last night for a couple friendship tattoos and was completely blown away with my experience. I have a decent amount of tattoos and had a place I consistently went to back home before I moved here three years ago. Since being in Austin I’ve had tattoos and each time I hoped the place I went would become my new go to but hadn’t had any luck finding my new tattoo home until last night. The shop is aesthetically perfect which was just a cherry on the top of the experience. Jacob did my and my friend’s tattoo, solid work, gentle hand, great pace. The banter and joy that everyone working there had was comfortable and easy to join in with, even as someone who does tend to get shy in those situations. After my tattoo was finished and my friend was getting hers Mom and I talked and talked and talked. She is funny and easy to talk to and honestly gives great life advice. She definitely earns the name Mom. I’m so pleased with the entire experience and will be back and recommending everyone I know who is interested in getting a tattoo. Thank you Jacob and thank you Mom for the sound life advice!

Been getting tattooed here for the last year or so and Ive had nothing but great experiences. Everyone there is very welcoming and informative. As someone who is fairly new to the tattoo scene, I was a little intimidated at first going into a shop, but the staff at Moms are super rad and walked me through the whole process. I was recommended to check them out through a friend, and Im glad I did, cause theyre now the only place Ill go to!

My husband and I have gone back and forth on getting tattoos for the last year and finally decided to take the plunge at Moms. We found this lovely tattoo shop purely based on location on Google Maps and were very happy with our decision. Mom was very friendly and talkative and really made us feel at ease while getting our tattoos without being judgmental whatsoever. That part was really important to me because I feel like some tattoo places are so hardcore and try to talk you out of what you want. Our tattoos were pretty small and simple but we were done in less than an hour for both of us. We each received a care kit and felt well informed on how to care for our new tattoos. Definitely check Moms out if youre looking for a down home, comfortable place to get a tattoo!

Brooke was such a great artist! Hands down the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. She tattooed myself and two of my cousins within an hour and a half. We each got small handwriting tattoos. She sanitized and Saran wrapped everything in between our sessions. She also squeezed us in because I called the day before. Really great experience overall!

Mike did an amazing Job on a fix up on a memorial piece I had gotten done about 4 months ago... He did an amazing job! This place has a great atmosphere, great people, and very clean!! I will definitely be back! My fix up is amazing and my new one looks amazing!!

I found Moms Tattoos by looking up reviews of artists in the area since Im relatively new to Austin. Jordan has been working on my chest piece since December and he has done an amazing job! Today was my final session with him and Im extremely happy with the work he has done. He definitely exceeded my expectations! Besides my chest piece, Ive gotten 5 other tattoos by Jordan and they have all turned out great! At Moms they definitely make you feel very comfortable and they have amazing customer service. I havent tried other shops in the Austin area but I dont think I can go anywhere else after finding Moms. Their artists are amazing, their prices are reasonable and they are the nicest and most caring people Ive met in this industry. I absolutely recommend you go get inked at Moms!

Love Moms!!! The staff is not only super talented but so respectful. They were booked but they happily greeted every walk in with a smile, discussed their design and promised to take care of everyone as soon as possible. This is my 3rd tattoo at Moms but the first from Mom!! It was a cover up but she made me love it all over again. Donnie delivered! I try and get a little something whenever my wife and I go to a new city. The catch is that the tattooer has total creative freedom, which tends to elicit a deer-in-headlights response from most artists. Not Moms! After reaching out to a few places, Moms was the first to respond, and they seemed genuinely excited.Back to Donnie. What a dude! Super personal, charming, and most importantly, the ink looks amazing. Did he have to cycle through three or four needles to create his design? No. But he did, and the detail shows.Check them out. Trust your artists. Listen to their advice. Enjoy. Im pretty confident you will.

Three of us wanted to spontaneously get tattooed while in Austin for a girls weekend. Thank god Moms had openings, because they were all amazing!! The whole staff is friendly and talented. Debbie did 2 of the three tattoos, and Roach did the third. All turned out amazing and exactly what we wanted. As someone who has many tattoos, some of which are fairly large, Im confident in highly recommending this shop.

I was so nervous that my experience would hurt like my other tattoos but he was so gentle and he took his time with my tattoo. Every little detail he NAILED. My lines are so clean!. Donny is WOW! I absolutely couldnt recommend this shop and Blake anymore. Just got a beautiful robot pinnup girl from Blake and I have to say, its truly amazing. Everyone at the shop is kind and very professional. Never had trouble getting ahold of anyone, always extremely polite, professional, and talented artists. If you enjoy traditional tattoos, you have to come see the wonderful people of Moms Tattoos!!

Highly advise reaching out through Yelp if youre in the area and wanting a tattoo. Brooke listened (mind you, I was voiceless due to laryngitis) to what I wanted, drew up two proofs, and did the work (small inner wrist tattoo). Though I wanted part of it in white ink, she strongly advised against it and explained why. I agreed, and we came up with another plan. Worked out spectacular. Already I love it. My first tat, purportedly in the most sensitive place (inner wrist) and yet it wasnt bad at all. Friendly and welcoming. Strongly recommend.

I have never had a tattoo in my life and was very very afraid because like many people I dont enjoy pain! But on a recent trip to Austin I decided to go for it and saw this amazing building. I went in and the first thing I noticed was how clean it smelled, not like disinfectant hiding sent but really clean. The next thing you notice are all the amazing tattoos stencils all over the place and then all the friendly tattoo artists who greet you and invite you to sit down. They took their time sketching exactly what I wanted. Moreover, and more importantly, it was relatively painless and the end result was amazing. I will definitely go back and get a second tattoo from Moms the next time I am in Austin.

Had a consultation last week. Left but.then called back and scheduled a time to come back. When I got there today, the artist said that there was a mix up because he.did.not.have me on the schedule. No biggie right. It took some time to get the tattoo drawn up. Normal. He did the placement, which had.to repositioned because he did not like.where it was. Im nervous and scared at this point because I thought he.would rush through the tattoo so that he could do the next customer as his.next appointment had shown up. I even said something to him. When he was done (it only took about 20 minutes for the actual tattoo) I was scared to look. Ive had other tattoos that didnt turn out so well, so I was a little skeptical. However, the tattoo turned out amazing and I am so stoked that I got it done. I would recommend Bobby to anyone who is looking to get some ink. The tattoo is stellar and Bobby did a great job!!! I plan on going back to get some other tattoos covered up with new ink. Im not sure how much tattoos cost these days so I dont know if I got a good deal and Im not going to say how much it cost. It.was.worth the money I paid. I have to say too that I looked online for other shops. Anyways, I would say that if you are looking for a tattoo artist, go see Bobby at moms.

Came here yesterday to see if they could cover up a hideous tattoo I had under my breast. Mom herself was there and was happy to give me recommendations on what kind of design to use for the cover up. She persuaded me towards a flower design and oh my gosh Im so glad she did. It turned out beautiful, cant even tell its a cover up. The color scheme she did is fantastic. She was so sweet and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. It didnt take more than an hour to finish the whole process either. Im so so so happy!!! Thank you so much Moms💘

My sisters and I walked in and they let us hang around until there was an opening. One of the artists (Jordan) came in on his day off to pick something up and ended drawing up our tattoos and getting them ready so we could be seen sooner! Since they were slightly different he did mine and Roach did my sisters. They all turned out exactly how we envisioned them! Definitely will be going back for any future tattoo needs!

Ive been going to Moms for 15 years now. Ive had work done by I think 5 different artists, including Deb. They are always friendly, always professional. Go get one done, youll go back for more.

During my most recent visit in Austin, a couple friends and I decided to get a tattoo and I am so glad we went to Moms. Not only was the experience clean, easy and enjoyable overall but Mom took care of my finger after I managed to close it in a car door before going into the shop. I love my tattoo and hope I can go back again in the future!

Had such a fantastic experience here! I was tattooed by Mom herself, and felt great from start to finish. Well, besides the pain of a rib tattoo. She was fast, matter-of-fact, and great at distracting me from the pain! I love my new tattoo! Will definitely be back

My cousin and I both got tattoos here and unfortunately we did have an issue after with our tattoos but after getting a hold of ‘Mom’, she was more than happy to fix the issues had with my tattoo and my cousin will be getting hers fixed later. Amazing Service with great prices. Most definitely willing be coming back next tine we are in town!

Jordan did my sister and Is sibling tattoos. He was very precise and friendly. He was able to do a very thin font that I imagine isnt that easy to do. The experience was quick and professional. He cleaned everything between our tattoos including the counter that the ink container was sitting on. Overall we are very please with our tattoos!

I got an arm piece done several years back from mom (koi fish) and it’s been my least favorite out of all my tattoos. She was very shaky and *wouldn’t* let me pick out my own colors!! The lines are sharp, the blending was terrible and it’s missing colors in places. My now ex boyfriends tattoo was great but was done by someone else there at Moms. I do not recommend letting mom do your tattoo but the shop is good for the other workers. I’ve been too scared to go back to have my tattoo touched up because they said the exact artist has to touch up their own work, and I know mom won’t fix mine the way I want it. Don’t take this review lightly- good shop but don’t let the owner do your tattoo. The other workers are amazing.

Jordan has done 2 of my 8 tattoos, he is great! He has a very light hand and does diligent work in no time. Would give more than 5 stars to Moms tattoo if I could!

I’m from out of state and popped in to get a fun little dancing taco! I was not disappointed. This place is a gem, Aaron was so friendly and had so much fun with the idea. It was completed to perfection. They also sent me with an after care kit, I’ve gotten several tattoos in other states and have never even heard of shops doing this. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and look forward to coming back next time I’m in town. Thank you!

Found this place after reading several good reviews online. They did not disappoint! We didnt wait very long for a walk-in visit, and Jordan did a GREAT job with listening to what I wanted. My tattoo turned out better than I imagined! Highly recommend them!!

Got a tattoo at Moms tattoo on Nov 26th. Brooke was my artist and did a fantastic job. I was scheduled for 6:30pm but got there around 5:45 and was started tattooing at 6pm. Both artist in the shop were focused on their jobs to the point of ignoring phones and walk ins. The atmosphere was jovial with out being distracting distpit the close proximity to others getting work done. All in all great shop with great artist.

I went to moms to get a pricing after visiting a few other shops, they were able to get my tattoo done with precision and patience. I am very happy with the work done and their tips on helping take care of the new tattoos were priceless. I saw Becca and I will be seeing her again in the near future for more work to be done.

First and foremost, I love my tattoo!! Brooke was amazing she kept me distracted as she knew this was my first ever tattoo. I felt at ease with the whole process thanks to her.

Worked with Blake on an arm piece. Cant overstate how impressed I was, the shop has an old school grunge feel to it. But its immaculately clean. Its a tiny space that reminds me of a garage in some ways. But it houses some top tier talented artists. Will be going back to finish my sleeve.

I also received a not so great tattoo from mom and was totally bummed. My friend and I were getting matching bestfriend tattoos and I watched her get it first and was freaking out the whole time because of Moms shaky hand. Both of our lines are very shaky and mine is actually bled out around the letters. I almost didnt agree to get mine done after watching her get hers but then I felt bad I didnt want to let her get a bad tattoo alone LOL. Its only 2 years old and looks bad. I wanted to do a review right after but she did also tell me about her health problems while we were there and I felt bad. But yes if youre getting lettering this probably isnt the best artist for that.Trying to figure out how to post a pic...

Becca is wonderful artist and does amazing work. I went to her with two general ideas, a hummingbird watercolor tattoo and adding to an existing tattoo. My artistic insight and vocabulary is about as good as a five year old doing algebra. AKA it sucks. Somehow Becca understood what the heck I was saying and translated them into beautiful pieces that constantly receive compliments. Thank you so much for your great work and being so patent with me when I was an idiot and only ate oatmeal for breakfast then nearly passed out.

So baby girl decided she wanted a tat. I said only if I go with you. We searched and found Moms tattoo and Jordan was highly recommended. He dis her tattoo in in 9.5 minutes flat!

OUCH! Thats about all I really need to say about the simple tiny tattoo I got behind my ear. The tattoo artists gouged me really bad, and it bled for a few hours. The quality was not very good either :( ....at least I cant see it all the time. Unfortunately, I do not remember the artists name.I had another tattoo done behind my other ear, at a different tattoo shop, and had virtually no pain and no bleeding.

I love it!!2 yrs in a role coming here and Roach is amazing!! We actually were able to experience Brookes work and it was also amazing!! Overall the guys are cool as hell.

Getting set up for a tattoo takes some effort, especially if you dont have VENMO. But the work is excellent and the tiny building is super funky.
