Problem Child Tattoo

Today was a walk in special. My husband and I drove two hours and got there at 5. They didn’t know the eta for us but said we’d get a text 30 minutes before hand. We popped by every hour and at 8:30 they told us it’d be a few hours wait. We left and came back at 9:30 and popped in again. They recognized us and said they were situating the times and told us in 15 minutes we’d get an eta. Turns out that eta was us getting added onto a new list and being put at the back of the line because new people had just gotten there and were waiting in line so they got to go before us. We were told we probably weren’t gonna be getting a tattoo today. I pointed out that we had been there 5 hours already but that didn’t change anything. Artwork is cute but to not even be given any compensation for our time is unprofessional. Sadly we don’t want to waste our time again and won’t be coming back. They also stated that people that signed up at 11am had just gotten tattooed at 10pm. I feel these events are too populated for that store to handle.

Super enjoyed my experience with Sophia, (currently) one of the apprentices there. I got a flash piece that she tweaked for me in a kindof intimate area, and she made sure I was comfy and put up dividers. Even gave positive affirmations during the more painful parts 🥹A+ talent, A+ personality! I’m not a body tattoo artist but a cosmetic tattoo artist and was impressed with her knowledge — excited to see her grow as an artist and practitioner cuz she’s smashin it already! Thanks y’all 🙏🏼💙

My favorite tattoo shop in Austin. Ive gotten 5 tattoos from different artists here. Each one from the guest artists and the owner have been AMAZING. Everyone here is nice and proud of their work and the owner is also so nice! Shes super friendly and really appreciates every costumer that comes in. Picture is the tattoo she gave me. Really recommend this place and her!

I was a guest artist at Problem Child for three days, and it was the best experience I’ve had with a guest spot. A very welcoming, organized and professional environment run by wonderful people, everything was so stress free and smooth. I got my first tattoo done by Virginia (Ginn I think) and it was on a Wednesday/flash day.. everyone was so incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating!! The prices were great and the artists are all so talented!! Would absolutely recommend! :))

There’s no place in Austin like Problem Child 🤍 From the decor to the artists; I’ve never had anything but good experiences and I can tell how much hard work has gone into and keeps going into it! All tattoos I’ve gotten here have been 10/10 and I’m always looking forward to coming back! Also, Walk in Wednesdays are a must!!!

I got a tattoo in september from a guest artist and it was worth every penny. Besides the wonderful guest artists they bring this place won my heart for so many other reasons. I have around 30 tattoos and have never been to a shop that was so bright and pretty for lack of better words. I love anime/toys/plushies & if you do too, then please do yourself a favor and visit this shop because you will melt when you walk in. We stan a woman owned and operated business & if you manage to catch her or get work done by her, get ready for a maze of wonderful conversation. The building is pink, the walls are pink with cute art everywhere and they even have a fun crane machine inside. If you are still reading this and havent booked yet, you are dumb :)

I love this shop!! All of the artists are super welcoming and kind! I’ve gotten two tattoos here and I will definitely be coming back for more. The owner is super detailed and has created a really comfortable space.

We came in today as a walk in. Everyone was so nice and professional! I loved the experience and how well they did. I do think the prices are fair. My sister came in with a more intricate design and the owner stayed late and killed it! I highly recommend ❤️

This place was fun to check out. It is a pricey for the size and having an apprentice do the tattoo. However, she was very friendly.

It’s my first time going to this tattoo shop, and I loved it! I got a spine tattoo from a guest artist, Mio Ryung, and she was so patient with me on deciding what size I wanted. I kept going back and forth lol. She wanted to make sure the stencil was on perfectly, so she placed it a few times and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I appreciate her perfectionism. It was a 6 hour tattoo, and she truly did amazing with the shading and line work. We had a couple breaks, and she gave me a complimentary snack and drink! One spot was tough for me, and she noticed I was uneasy and asked if I needed a break. She was so courteous and put in more details to my tattoo than I thought! I love it!!!

I flew to Austin and was looking for a tattoo. Speaking with people in the industry here in town makes me not want to go to this shop. Rumors in the city are really bad about how this shop treats their artists and customers.

The artists here are good and friendly. I will say it is the most minimalistic decor I’ve ever seen in a shop though. The walls are boring to look at when your in one of their chairs for hours. I definitely recommend seeing Josh. His line and color work is outstanding. The shop is very clean and everyone seems to be very professional.

I’ve been here 4 times in the past 5 months and have been treated amazingly the all 4 times ! The work station is very clean & spacious, Ive never felt out of place or uncomfortable during any of my sessions! Everyone there is very friendly and the whole work environment is really peaceful! I’m already planning my next tattoo session !

The artists themselves here Im sure are kind, but the way the entire atmosphere is constantly being suffocated by the who I assume is assistant manager of some kind drives me insane. Theres so many experiences ex artists from this shop have spoken up about (a quick Google insta twitter search does wonders) that talk about abuse, power manipulation, etc. If you respect local artists pls steer clear. I also hear stories about the owners sending threats to artists and those who speak out. (Allegedly, do your own research for those stories as I will not name them here. All here are stories from the community that I see no mention of outside of social media spaces.)Before knowing this I ended up getting 2 tattoos from here and both leaving a lot to be desired. And both were EXTREMELY expensive. Im all for paying artists but one was something that took FIFTEEN MINUTES to do and was 150 dollars. I understand that as an hourly rate but it was done in 10 minutes and the last 5 were her trying to fix a line she messed up. The other was a complex tattoo and took an hour and a half. And I tipped ontop of both tattoos because I want to support the artists but both tattoos had to be reworked by other artists.Theres a male manager there that is so condescending, and I have seen him outside of the shop and he is so disrespectful to peoples time and other jobs. Multiple times has he shown his disregard for the people around him.All in all the artists themselves Im sure are cool but this place has nothing but bad vibes.

I had a session with Josh last week and was so pleased with the quality of the work and the atmosphere at the shop. A really talented group of folks, so professional, and very accommodating. 10/10, would definitely come back!

All of the artists here are amazing, including those who have left this establishment due to maltreatment they receive from the management/owners. And trying to cover up the allegations is even worse. Try contacting these wonderful artists on their own social media pages! Theyre the reason this place stays relevant.

For what I am hearing, they are very problematic. Mistreating their artist to making customers uncomfortable. And you know its serious when All their artist decide to leave at the same time and speak about it publicly. They use to have all their artist on their bio but not anymore. YIKES avoid plus they denied everything which I am not surprised. no accountability !

Vanessa was amazing, she nailed my tattoo and was meticulous, and great at communicating from the beginning. The shop is welcoming and such a good atmosphere as well

The place is good. The artist are professional but there parking and the waiting room is not made for adults. Get some real furniture in there instead of the inflatable couches

This is a bad tattoo shop. The artists are great (except the owner) . They instruct employees to not speak about what they make to each other, which is absolutely illegal.

She did a really good job. I absolutely love my tattoo. I got an outline of a picture and an anime design.

They charge you minimum $150 I wanted to get a TINY flower on my finger and usually its about $80-100 they overprice absolutely!!??
