Cookie man has been my tattoo artist for awhile. He has covered up, reworked, and add new art. He is super friendly and has great skills. You will not be disappointed, and he is always on time with his appointments

I went to Ray to get several tattoos over the last three weeks, after following him on IG, and seeing his beautiful work before and after pictures. I have six more tattoos that need to be covered up. Which will be done by next week. All I can say is Ray understood the assignment, and execute. He was very patience and understand what I wanted by showing him different pictures. I went here for a Helix & Navel piercing. I Super Love the Ear piercing! It was with the Navel that I did not like. The piercer had to stick my Navel TWICE to get the piercing completed stating the Needle would not go thru all the way the first time, It was so Painful! I went to another piercer the next day & he said it was pierced incorrectly, Stating the entrance site was low & the exit was too far back inside my Navel. I had to remove it. All of that Discomfort for Nothing...

My tatt artist is the best, he is professional, takes his time and aims to please. Cool personality. I have made this my new place for all my newest tatts.

By miracle my husband found Ray, the owner of Island City Tattoo. I lived with the biggest, dark and ugly tattoo on my hip/ thigh area for over 10 years. I was told by multiple tattoo artists it was impossible to fix and impossible to get a cover up due to the size and colors. Ray however took me on and has made what I considered hideous into the most beautiful piece of art work. If you need a miracle go see Ray he truly has changed my life by giving me such a beautiful piece that I can be proud of. I have nothing but positive things to say about this man. Do not go to just any shop ….. Go see Ray you won’t be disappointed !!!!!!

I just got my 3rd tattoo from them, and I got the same great service that I always get. The artist was very patient with my tattoo anxiety. He even provided me with a stress ball to help with it.

I did a walk in and ended up with Anthony. I had a screenshot on my phone that he managed to turn into an AMAZING little tattoo and the price was unbelievable! I’ll be coming back for more work and will always be seeing Anthony for it! Definitely check them out, and I included my own tattoo pics for you to see exactly what I mean.

Ray is the bomb youll! First off the shop had a friendly professional vibe. When it came to my tattoo Ray created a design I loved soon as he showed me. He was light handed, fast , friendly & checked on me while working. The special he was running was awesome for Exactly what I wanted.

A second review because this is my 3rd visit to Ray (and counting.). I’m compelled to do another review because when your guy is top notch, you want everybody to know. Siring this sitting Ray brought a 19 year old tattoo to life; it’s now version Ray.0!I asked him to take his creative license and ‘Ray it out’ for me. Yes, book the appointment in advance people! You will love the result.

Artist cancelled 3 appointments 45 minutes before appointment. Said she was not in the area and she had stuff to do so we were gonna just have to reschedule. Totally unprofessional and a waist of my time. My previous experience here was excellent. Ray is a good artist and a great person. I guess everyone cant be great.

Ray is out of this world talented. I will always travel just for him to do my work no matter which state I live in!!! He has done some of my cover ups and they have turned into brand new looking pieces. I just got a matching tat with my daughter and the work was amazing. He is the best of the best!!!

Ray is amazing, hands down. Both my partner and I have gotten half sleeves from him and are very pleased with the quality and price of the work as well as the experience overall. He has multiple streaming services if you want to just zone out to TV, but hes a great conversationalist too. The two of us already have more tattoos in mind, and theres no question well be returning here to get them done.

Ray has done a total of 12 of my tattoos. He is wonderful! The shop is very clean & has great prices. Ray will take the time to put together ideas and make sure the tattoo is really what you want. I recommend Ray to anyone looking for a good tattoo.

I went here to get my first tattoo. This is the best tattoo spot in Bmore. I have been here twice and Ray has always hooked me up. He is very detailed in all of his work and his finishing product proves it. I have recommended this place for years and will always be a customer. They take walk ins if it’s not busy but it’s best to always schedule an appointment.

Love Rays work, been going to him when he was on Garrison Blvd. When people ask my about my tattoo I always tell the Ray at Island City is the man to go to. I had to add to my review Ray and Cookieman are great artists they do great work and make you feel so comfortable.

Made an appointment for 12:30 and when I got to the shop, it was closed despite it saying it was open online. Phone calls were not answered and plus they required a down payment. I drove 40 minutes to come to this place after hearing the reviews but I am so disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone.

The prices are great and the work is wonderful (depending on the artist) but of course, there are many many many flaws. I got two out of three of my tattoos done here; they were both done in the same session. I gave the artist a tip that he was genuinely surprised about (I see why now) and then attempted to get another “appointment” with him a few weeks later via Instagram. I was not able to make the “appointment” because I overslept due to just getting off work a couple hours before. Fast forward to Thursday (over a month later) and I contact the artist again to see if I could get the tattoo done for Friday (6/29). We speak on the phone and confirmed I could come in at 1. I get to the shop just a couple minutes before 1 just to be told that 1. He did not even know how I made the “appointment” or remembered the damn “appointment” (I literally spoke TO HIM ON THE PHONE THE NIGHT BEFORE) and 2. That someone else made an “appointment” via their website but he was confused as to how that even happened because apparently you can’t book appointments 24 hours or less in advance on their website. So his conclusion was that he push back MY appointment and cater to the other customer. Cool. Then I go to the waiting area in the back and he asks what I wanted to get (again, all discussed the night before) and then he remembers who I was. After that he proceeds to do the other customers tattoo and completely disregards me during the fact. I waited till about 2pm and left. I am completely dissatisfied, I do not live in Baltimore; I in fact live almost a hour away. I wasted gas and time just to not get what I wanted! That was my mistake and I won’t be coming here again. Work on y’all customer service and take “appointments” made serious, thanks.

The place does not look the best but they do great work. Andy was my artist. Does great work and he has a very light touch. Would definitely recommend this place to any one looking to get inked

Aunty did a cover-up for me and it looked fabulous. I would recommend him and I do recommend him to everyone that I come across that are interested in tattoos. He is an asset to that place.

I went over a month ago to go see Ray, I saw some work he had done on someone and she highly recomened him to me. He was nothign but professional and polite. I was over an hour late.It is true that the surroundings do look a little stechy but never judge a book by its cover,. Everyone was super cool and VERY professional. I have never seen a tattoo shop so crowded and busy with repeat clientele.I like it that people drive by, go ahead.. Let those of us that utilize them keep coming back!!!

This is where I get all my tattoos from. Ray is absolutely amazing. I am super indecisive about the tattoos I want to get, and he always gets my ideas and puts them together cohesively. Great prices. I always have a ton of fun when I visit.

Shop owners/ employees were late for my appointment and someone else’s.However, the quality of my piercing experience was good. Zay was very communicative and professional.I do recommend this shop.1 week update: my piercing fell out and Zay was willing to meet me before shop hours to get my piercing in before I had to work. Quality service!

Ray did an awesome job on covering some tattoos that I had for 30 years. He did me an awesome Japanese Hannya mask half sleeve. Hell of a nice person and very talented, and gave me a very reasonable price.Going back to get the rest of my arm sleeved. I definitely recommend this establishment highly. Berniemac!!!

Not what I expected. My tattoos shading is horrible. Ive emailed the co TWICE, no response, Ive called the shop...vcml full.I texted back and forth w/artist...no resolution, no date to fix their wrong, and definitely no apology.I have 6 large tattoos AND never did I feel the need to hide them like I do THE TATTOO FROM ISLAND CITY TATTOOS...nevvvvvvvvvvvvvvver again!

❗️NOT Please with my tattoo, after the heal up u can see some fades in the letters and numbers area which there NOT suppose to be, and because of that the writings are not visible,, the artist name is Andy, I try to call him no pick up I call the store no pick up so I text him and he reply two days later so I told him that I wanna go over it one more time cause it’s not bright and visible enough and it’s faded around in it then he never reply so I decided to come here and make a review so people could see and BEWARE!! Now I gotta go somewhere to try and get my tattoo fix or cover up else where.. never had a problem with the rest of my tattoos that I did other places except this one I did there, but I shoulda know by the way how it’s tacky inside, no receptionist no cameras or anything.. Stay Away❗️❗️

This wasnt my first tattoo but my first time going there.The tattoo artist Derrick Rhodes, very talented artist took very good care of me. Very sterile. Little to no pain for a tattoo that took 2 1/2 hours. I will be returning soon. Thanks!

I went today to get my second tattoo . before I went I googled it and saw so many great reviews for the tatoo artist name Ray so thats exactly who I went too. Best decision ever he was so nice, and down to earth and funny. He brought my picture to life adding his own colors and really made it pop. He even made me feel comfortable by having Netflix there telling me watch whatever I want. We were in there geeking off the Dave Chapelle special. Overall I had a amazing experience. And he is def my new tatoo artist!

The wait was long the shop was clean as far as the tattoo I was happy with the coverage and the idea and even the tattoo buh once it was done and I got home and settled I seen a lot of flaws I guess Ill have someone else fill it in with more detail

I got a piercing by Zay - the needle fell out of my lip literally onto my lap , once the needle fell out he lost the hole that was just made through my lip and spent 3 minutes trying to jam the jewelry through my lip, the clamps popped off and hit me in the face , the piercing ended up being crooked , it was all around a terrible experience. I took the piercing out and am going to get it redone elsewhere.

Jon is the best and easy to talk to when that pain hits. This is my spot and I am never leaving...NEVER. The work is amazing and I feel great about showing amazing artwork to the public.

Ray helped me modify my current idea to perfection! Chill personality took my mind off of the tattooing pain and he has Netflix! Talk about binge watching and catching up on some old shows!

Made an appt yesterday for a consultation today. The place is closed, website says by appt only on Mondays. Well I set up an appt, they clearly dont regard this at all. Bad for business. I wasted time and gas to come to this place.

I had an appointment yesterday with Andy, got there and he wasn’t there. Appointment was at 130 could not wait for him pass the scheduled time and requested a refund to which I have not received or got any follow up on. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
