Broken Crystal Tattoo Studio

I was tattooed by Rae and she was fantastic! She is very talented and does great work, I highly recommend her. The other artists in the shop are fantastic as well. The shop was comfortable, clean, and welcoming.

Today was my first experience with Sam at Broken Crystal tattoo studio. I was blown away. From my first step through the door she was welcoming, attentive, and professional. She took the scrambled ideas for what I wanted and turned them into an original work of art in MINUTES. Right before she was about to get to work I decided my toad needed a hat (how annoying am I?!), no flippin problem. Sam knows her stuff and I left with a tattoo even better than I could have pictured. I can’t wait to plan the next one with her. 10/10

I got my first tattoos here and couldn’t be happier! Sam is communicative, and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted from my jumble of ideas. Her shop is clean and everyone there is so welcoming and helped put me at ease. My tattoos were pretty painless, and they came out so beautiful! I am hooked, and can’t wait to get more!

Sam has done each and every tattoo that i have and i absolutely LOVE HER!! I followed her from her old shop to this one and she is truly such a great tattoo artist 10/10 recommend

Got my first tattoo done by Emily here. Emily was super friendly and made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. She did a fantastic job too! Came back a month later with my partner and each got another piece done. Made us feel very comfortable and relaxed the whole time! We talked about the show Succession for an hour and before I knew it, my piece was done! Will definitely be coming back!

Courtney is amazing! I had my jam jar colored in this past week after she did the outline a couple months ago. She was available, professional and did a bang up job! I would recommend her to everyone and anyone. Thanks again!

I love Sam and Chloe so very much I’ve been going to them for all my tattoos since they opened. They are so great at what they do and they really make you feel so welcomed when you come in. I think I have referred so many friends to them and everyone who has gone has had nothing but good things to say about them. I send everyone there social medias and tell them go for it, your gonna love them. Don’t second guest just book with them.

Got tattooed by Emily and it was the best tattoo experience I’ve had so far!! The shop was super clean, prices were totally reasonable for the quality of work, and the atmosphere is so welcoming and inclusive. I would recommend her to anyone whether it’s your first or hundredth tattoo. She also offers numbing which I totally took advantage of. Made my experience that much better.

Sam has been my artist for over 4 years. Im living in VA now but whenever I come back into town, I always try to schedule an appointment with her. When Broken Crystal opened I was really excited for the entire team she brought on. BCTS is extremely clean, safe and sanitary. All of the artists take pride in what they do, and will try to work with you when it comes to scheduling. Its a great shop that has so much character. I would recommend this shop over any other!

I will definitely be going back here. Sam did a beautiful sunflower tattoo for me and was so accommodating and kind when I asked for modifications and asked a million questions. The quality of their tattooing is excellent and they explained everything from the process to the aftercare multiple times when I needed it. This is the best place Ive gotten a tattoo and will go back for all my future tattoos! I couldnt recommend them enough.

Sam did a matching tattoo for my sisters and I and we love the way they came out! She was super accommodating and a fun conversationalist. The energy in the shop makes you feel comfortable and I’ll def be back for another piece soon!

My sister and I worked with Sam over Instagram to plan out several tattoos. Day of the appointment, Sam was SUPER nice, helpful, and chill. She took her time explaining in detail about hand tattoos, etc. and the vibe was super chill and welcoming.Sam is super knowledgeable in her craft and is totally accommodating. Shes willing to take her time and size and place the tattoos as many times as it takes to get it right and make sure you are happy.The vibe of the shop is completely unique as well. Ive been getting tattooed for years in various shops and I can safely say that I have not been in a shop this comfortable, welcoming, chill. The shop has a homey vibe but is absolutely sterile and clean. Sam made sure to swap out gloves, use new needles, sterilize EVERYTHING, etc.As a child at heart, I loved the shops decor because there are Pokemon figures to play with, a ton of super cute decor, Cartoon Network was playing on a HUGE TV, the artwork on the walls is super creative, fun, and very internet vibes.I honestly loved my experience I will return for more. I can safely say, Sam has very quickly become one of my favorite artists around here.

I had such a great time at Broken Crystal—the shop is so beautiful, well-decorated, and clean! I got a beautiful jasmine flower design from Sam, who is so kind, talented, and professional. It is extra meaningful to have a queer-friendly tattoo shop in the area; this is a place where many people would feel comfortable and at home. Sam and her colleagues do amazing work!

Sam helped me fix up a tattoo I already had that needed some more detail and it looks great. The shop itself is very inviting and clean. I felt very comfortable my first time there. I would recommend this shop to anybody looking. I will definitely be back!

I have been tattooed by Sam twice already! She is very knowledgeable and isn’t very heavy handed (a problem i’ve had at other shops because i have sensitive skin and not super high pain tolerance), i like to ask a lot of questions about the process what kind of needles etc. just to learn more about what’s actually going on and Sam is always more than happy to explain.I had been looking around for a shop and artist that I felt comfortable at, and this is the one. I feel so welcomed and comfortable here, Sam is very nice and answers DMs quickly too. Pricing is amazing!

I went to Emily to get a really bad tattoo I had gotten previously from an inexperience artist. She was very thorough and professional with me and helped me figure it how we could cover up the bad tattoo. The whole time she made me feel incredibly comfortable. She fixed the really poor tattoo that I had and I love what she did. I cant wait to go back to her to get some more ink done.

Sam and chloe made me feel so unbelievably welcomed and safe at their shop! i’ve gotten a piece from both of them and i will never work with other artists again. i’ve recommended them to all my friends and they’ve all also had great experiences with both of them! if you want to support a really chill and non-judgey queer female owned small business, this is the shop for you 😊
