This is the shop of two extremes for me so the inconsistency is a big factor on my rating.I dragged my friends along so I could change some jewelry pieces. I’ve been to cold steel, fiatlux, and rose. I enjoyed the service there but I do like getting a good look at other shops. Well, I’d rank this lower comparatively.First off, we were ecstatic to be looking at the pieces and was helped by a smaller femme with black hair and bangs. She increasingly got impatient with us because I was wanting to compare items from different cases and went back and forth a couple of styles. I was actually open to switching out 3 of my current piercings and the way they show things make it hard to picture the set together and narrow it down at the speed of the associate’s expectations.I was super rushed so I decided to just go with my pressing issue. Mind you, I took so much longer at cold steel for a similar service (3 pieces to switch out) and they were patient and helpful. The negativity climaxed when I thought to take out my jewelry because I did not see their written sign. She huffed and puffed about my contaminating the jewelry—even though during showings, you only really touch the plastic case they are in. I didn’t even touch anything yet, we had time to sanitize and wash hands! ;)Which brings me to a big find: they do not have an autoclave to sterilize your jewelry prior to install. Her reaction really made me really wonder: Are they actually confident enough in their sterilization!?I do know that 5 of the jewelry shops I’ve been to has autoclave sterilization as a standard even for jewelry changes.Anyway, this person should have just excused themselves for their lunch break because their colleague was soo much nicer and kinder! The Asian lady gave my friend a wonderful placement recommendation so she got inspired to get a new piece in. I wish I got her name because she was knowledgeable and would be one of the reasons I’d maybe come back here for the chime hoop. Her and Sapo were so professional and so passionate about piercings. Sapo got my sizing down pretty well and changed my jewelry quickly. The funny part was being stopped by Bangs post payment and service and asked to pay more because she thought I got the other pieces I was eyeing installed. Nope. Had to show her my ears too. lol as if she wasn’t the one who prepared the jewelry for the piercer... I would have bought two more (but I wasn’t given enough space to make up my mind!)Overall, because of the negativity I was turned off from replacing my other pieces. I needed my flat switched out badly so I bought a yellow gold piece with a $140 sticker tag which came out to $170+ total with the install. I think they sterilized the piece by dipping it in alcohol before putting it on. I was fine with this because it’s how I switch out my own earrings at home.Overall, the two stellar employees really carried the experience. I’d say this shop is for someone who just needs a quick service—someone who already knows what they want. If you want someone patient to show things and actually give recommendations, try to find the cool Asian lady with the stacked earrings. Better yet, go to cold steel, they will help you hold three things to your ear or put pieces side by side so you can visualize your combinations. If you’re spending hard earned bing bongs on jewelry meant to last, you deserve that. Cheers!
I took a while researching an artist who does bold and bright traditional work before I made the trek from SC out here. I found Tyler & have nothing but great things to say about his work. He customized and drew up the most amazing tattoo for me & took the time to make sure every single line was perfect. (The pic I attached speaks for itself) He’s super dedicated to the art and history of tattooing and that’s refreshing to see as opposed to artists just looking to make a quick buck.As for the shop, everyone was super welcoming and the work environment seemed great (:Thank you again, Tyler!!!!!
Got pierced by Sapo, he did both my ears & my nose. Took his time to make sure my nose piercings were straight with each other & did the same for my ears. He had me check it first before moving forward. Pleased with how they look! Will def come back to him! Also, got a tooth gem by Julie. Once she puts them on they stay on! Aftercare is a breeze. I smile all the time now to show it off!AND I got tattooed by Tyler. Very happy with how it turned out! Bold & bright, it healed nicely!Everyone was professional & thorough. Will come back here in the future, I had a really good time here!
Great vibe in this place. Dave was super friendly, as was everyone in the shop. The two of us were able to get in quickly and did have to wait long to get our tats. He did a great job and sharp work. My girlfriend was even able to snag a quick piercing while we waited.
Went to get my septum peirced, it happened so fast and it was extremely high up in my nose through the cartalige and very crooked, I was told to leave the retainer in so you couldnt acctually see the jewelry by looking at me, they said this was normal. My nose hurt for so long after this pericing, it never stopped hurting I kept it in for like 9 + months waiting for it to heal and taking great care of it, looking forward to putting jewerlry i can see in it (which they also said i have to come in to have them do that and charge me 10$) , it was so high up tho so even when flipping the jewerly downwards you still couldnt see it. I went to two seperate professional peircers after when i could tell something was wrong, that are really passionate about what they do and they both said its very messed up and i wont be able to wear jewerly in it ever unless its a huge ring that comes down to my lip and they recommendedi take it out, ao i did and instantly felt better, got it re done by someone else, it felt like it healed within days, my nose doesnt hurt, I have a beautiful peice of jewerly in I can see.Worst peircing experience ever and I have a ton of them.
Artist colored tattoo much differently than his drawing and left out all the details that I liked about it despite clearly asking several times if he would tattoo it exactly like his drawing. Now have to wait for it to heal and shell out another few hundred to get it fixed elsewhere plus the time off from sports. During session every concern I had was met with “oh no it’s the same as the drawing” or “no I think it looks better this way” or “tattoo is gonna be different from the drawing”. I understand artists that want to do their thing but he lied in saying it would be exactly the same. I wouldn’t have gotten it had he said otherwise.
Don’t go here, go to Cold Steel down the street. I know multiple people who have been given bad piercings or bad advice about their piercings from the piercers here, and I personally had a very bad experience with getting my septum done where the piercer did not do the proper prep and resulted in me having to take my jewelry out early. They’re not really concerned with quality here.
I wouldnt recommend anyone getting a piercing or tattoo at this store and dont even try to get your jewelry changed. The service is awful and they are not clear in prices or what they give you. You ask for something and they will give you the opposite, If you complain they just ignore your concerns. Just save your time and money!
The “seamless” hoop they put in my nose piercing was not fully closed and did not fit well. The closure part of the ring was sharp, it hurt and I couldn’t rotate/adjust it at all after two days. I went to another shop and they replaced it with a different ring that immediately felt better. This issue was pretty annoying and painful to get fixed.I also got my belly button pierced here over a year ago. It was healing well for the first 3-4 months, I took good care of it and it never seemed infected… either my skin rejected the jewelry they used or it didn’t fit my anatomy and started to migrate. I had to take the jewelry out and it’s still scarred a year later. Not totally sure that this was the shop’s fault (which was why I came back) but it honestly seems like their jewelry just isn’t good quality. Staff are very nice though.
Got a tattoo here just under a year ago, it’s healed completely now & I can say in confidence that this place couldn’t care how your tattoo turns out.I have significant scarring in my tattoo from when the guy was pressing the tattoo gun into my arm way too hard & aggressively.I now have a reminder For Life, to never return here.Always be sure to find an artist you trust. That’s my learning experience from this.
I would highly recommend not getting a piercing, nor having the piercer at this shop, Phil, change out your jewelry. He is unprofessional and will not listen if you voice concerns regarding his work. After around 5 months of getting my lip pierced at a local shop in Colorado, I wanted to upgrade my long bar to a hoop. I figured it would be an easy change of jewelry and came to this shop on Haight out of convenience. However it was a huge mistake on my part.Upon entering the shop, the receptionist let me know that she doubted that Phil would change my jewelry to a hoop because it had not been six months. While I understood the concern, I let her know that my piercer had recommended I could get a hoop after 4 months if my piercing was fully healed, but she told me just to wait for Phil to come back to the shop and talk about my jewelry options. He then told us I did not need to wait 6 months to get a hoop, and grabbed two stainless steel hoops from the case. He did not ask me jewelry options or anything. And both sizes were drastically different. He went with the larger option, telling me that it was because he feared the small one would be too small and cut my lip. However, the lip ring he gave me was huge. I could fit a pencil in the ring’s gap with space and I noticed some concerns throughout the night. For example, I began excessively salivating and drooling, the ring continuously flopped and would not stay on my lip, the piercing hole itched and burned, it was uncomfortable to eat and drink with, and finally— every time I spoke, the ring hit my bottom and top set of teeth.I consulted with my ma who has multiple piercings. She told me that was not normal and to consult my piercer with my concerns. I did so the next day. However, Phil was unreceptive and blatantly ignored and disregarded my concerns with my piercing. Once he greeted me again, I told him that after having the piercing for a day, I feared it was too big.As I was about to tell him the reasons for my concerns, he cut me off and was very closed off in his demeanor. Again, he reiterated that the smaller one would cut my lip, but if I wanted it smaller then whatever, he would do it.As he started to dig through hoops to find a new ring, I decided to try again and tell him my concerns. The first thing I brought up was how I felt like the ring was stretching out my piercing, as it appeared bigger, stretched out, and I could not comfortably eat or drink with it.He hummed at me, a hum of annoyance. A hum that would be followed up with a “sure it is,” but he remained fixated on the jewelry and did not look up at me. Only waving me back once he found it and telling me to lay down. When he changed my jewelry the first time, it was seamless. However, now, it seemed like he was being careless and applying a lot more pressure than before. It felt like I was re-piercing my lip before he told me, “oh it does look better.” He ended the encounter by walking away and telling me to have a great rest of my weekend in a bored tone. He did not offer me a mirror to look at my jewelry until he noticed me waiting, confused. Then he said there was a full length mirror if I wanted to look at it.I understand that the piercer is an expert and only wants what is best for their clients. However, Paul was unprofessional and let his ego overpower his client. If he was that concerned of the smaller ring, he could have talked to me about it rather than dismissing me entirely and just changing out the piercing to get me to leave. He could have listened to my concerns rather than interrupting me and making small jabs at me, like I was incompetent. I have two nostril piercings, I know how piercings work and when something is wrong. And finally, comfortability and the treatment of a client should always come first. Paul was unprofessional and dismissive.Save your money, it was an awful experience and overpriced. For a jewelry change that cost $53, I should have had an attentive piercer who listened and compromised with me.
Came here for a jewelry change- swapping out a captive bead in my septum. I provided the new bead. The front desk service was good, and the price was affordable- 10$. The change was quick enough, but I wasn’t offered a mirror to check before I left. If I had I would have immediately seen the problem. The piercer when opening the septum loop had bent it out of shape. It is no longer symmetrical and looks off center. While the price was good and there was no wait here unlike cold steel where I went first today, the shop damaged my jewelry and I am going to have to spend more money fixing this issue than I spent swapping out the jewelry.
I have never had a bad experience with Haight Ashbury Tattoo and Piercing. I have actually had all of my piercings from other places redone here too! The new location is a little smaller than before but was a lot brighter and intimate at the same time. I got a piercing taken out and replaced with a hoop + a new 3rd hole done on my left lobe. Would highly recommend going here for your next piercing needs 😊
Got my lobe (last year) and double lobe (this year) pierced here, both probably by Sapo. No specials on those so come whenever it won’t be busy. The person at the register was very nice and helpful and Sapo himself was very friendly and easy to talk to and will guide you through everything. He’s very thorough and will make sure you get what you want. There was a 30-45 min wait each time I went so plan for that, but you can browse the shop or take a seat and chill until it’s time. Overall just a great, reasonably priced place and I plan to come again.
I’ve gotten two cartilage piercings from them now and I loved the service. They were very professional and made me feel super comfortable. I’m not one to normally write reviews but their overall service was just very nice and I would highly recommend them.
I got my first piercing and tattoo here and I honestly loved it. Everyone was really chill and outgoing. I felt really comfortable, that’s something I really appreciate since I have anxiety. I definitely recommended them to my friends! I will come back for my next tattoo!
You should tell people before getting tooth gems that they can’t eat for 2 hours or drink for 12 hrs afterwards.I was on my way to dinner with friends and saw them being advertised. My friend was getting her nose pierced so I decided to get them. They didn’t tell me till after they put them on and I had paid that I couldn’t eat for 2 hours. We had a reservation for right after this just down the street. That was my last night in SF and I had plans to go out as well. They didn’t tell me you couldn’t drink alcohol for 12 hours.I could only wait a little over an hour to eat since we had reservations with a big group and plans immediately afterwards. My tooth gem fell off after ONE DAY.I totally would have just gone after dinner if they would have told me. Next time please tell your customers this before. I’m a poor college student and this was one of the only things I splurged on during my trip :(.The process was great and Julia (I think that’s her name) was nice, but definitely should have told me the aftercare process before so my money didn’t go to waste.
Best piercing prices in the city by far! I had the same piecer on my birthday that I had 6 years ago and it was just a great of an experience as the first time! I got my septum and my labret done in the same session. The labret hurt like HELL but it looks soooooo good! The septum was quick and done! highly recommend:)))
I have loved Haight Ashbury for my piercing needs in the past, but the attention to detail and quality of jewelry has declined. Nostril was pierced noticeably uneven compared to my others — even after feedback — and my skin has rejected last two nose rings from them (most of my jewelry is from them, sigh).
Booked an appointment two days in advance for a small custom design. Got paired with Shanti, and the whole experience was really great. He was super friendly and made sure to get my input on the design. Tried out a few different sizes and sketches to see what would look good, and it turned out awesome. Definitely coming back!
Super unprofessional. Made me come back for a second consult after the initial consult. I told the artist I only have weekends available and I live an hour away. We book at the second consult for a Saturday 2 weeks from that day. I arrive on time for my appointment after an hour drive, 20 minute search for parking and after paying 20$ to park for more than 2 hrs. I get there and Im tdmy drawing isnt finished and he can only do Tuesday...I have a m-f 8-5. Ultimately my deposit was refunded but the lack of communication and professionalism left me out about 60$ in gas and parking and 2 hrs of my time. Maybe a great place for small, impulsive flash but not organized enough for scheduling/advanced booking.
Me and my friend both got our belly buttons pierced here and both of them rejected even with proper care (cleaning, downsizing, low waisted pants etc). The only thing we could think to blame is the piercer doing an improper job. Would be careful coming here
Overall I really like the service here. Everyone is really nice and will answer whatever questions you have. When selecting your jewelry they do not make you feel rushed at all and they focus on one customer at a time which is extremely refreshing. Their work is great as well. Just know that when you get pierced if you want to change the piece that even though they say its free there is a $5 charge, which is not too bad. I got my nose pierced and it was super easy and for me I barely felt anything. I do not know his name but a white guy with a lot of tattoos did my piercing and it was phenomenal! love this place I plan on going back to get my belly button pierced again.
Excellent service for piercings at a great price! they take walk-ins even during the pandemic, so all you need to do is tell them what piercing you want, sign some forms, and then you can walk around the street if there are a lot of people in front of you in the queue. i got an anti-tragus ear piercing and Sapo was very calm and quick with it. amazing and friendly energy from this place!
The person who did my piercing was amazing. The front desk though needed a lot of help. It took me an hour to get solution from the front. I waited in line and then they told me the machines were down to go get cash. When I came back I had to wait in a 35 minute line again. The purchase itself took 15 seconds. And one of the girls in the front with blue hair was just ignoring people while the guy was helping them. There was also a piercing emergency in line with me & the person was in tears also waited 30 min.
By far the best tattoo shop Ive been to, all around. Im from Jacksonville, Fl, here visiting, when I randomly decided to get a second piercing for my nose. We walked in and the staff was super nice and helped me a lot with my nerves. The pricing was great (the reason we chose this place). Our piercer Wes was super calming and really nice, he made the whole process a bit less intimidating. And he pierced so fast, I barely felt it. And its perfect! Im so happy with my new piercing. Thank you guys (: see you next time Im in SF!!
This shop is awesome. I love the combination of store/tattoo shop. My gf and I went in knowing exactly what we wanted. The guys were really cool about making sure we got what we were looking for. Pricing seems pretty standard and since we both got 2 tattoos each they cut us a slight deal. Everyone was really professional and the shop is clean. My big tattoo took a couple hours but I felt very comfortable sitting while it was done. They know how to make a customer happy. I also got my second nose piercing there and the piercer, Wes, was really cool. He helped me calm my nerves and did a great job.
Sapo is the man, quality and professional. Price was average for the metal and service. 5 stars for that serviceTattoos on the other hand are outrageous, the prices that is. These guys are stealing from people. Couldnt tell you the quality of their work but Ive been to other places that actually do quality work for a lot less.Morally of this story is that it should cost 200 bucks for a tattoo the size of two quarters with no detail or color. Take you hard earned money elsewhere for a tattoo. Spend it there for piercings.
I had a really nice comfortable experience. Came in as a walk in for a piercing and front desk staff was very kind. Piercer was professional and helpful about aftercare
I am only rating them based on piercings, NOT tattoos. I got my septum pierced here after stopping at 4 other shops. The price was the best price in the area for a piercing from a clean reputable business. Staff was respectful and friendly. The person whom pierced my septum was careful and did not rush, making sure it was as not offset. They tried to be as gentle as possible which is appreciated. The piercing area was well lit, clean and sanitized. Thank you for the lifelong memory!
Nice place and sales people were nice. Long wait to get a piercing for no apparent reason as there was plenty of people working in that area. Extremely expensive jewelry. The 1st earring my daughter purchased fell apart when they were putting it in her ear and it was over $200! Of course they replaced it but Im sure the true quality of their stuff is no where near the prices they charge. Guess well find out as time goes on. It is a nice shop with some great products, just over priced.
Got my nostril pierced here back in December by Wes! He was super sweet and patient. My friend had huge nerves, but he talked her through it and pierced both of our noses! I was a walk-in on a Monday night, so there was a promotional price and they were still super quick with us! So in love with my piercing all these months later, thanks Wes 😍
Workers are taking their time and greeting dogs and neighborhood frequent visitors before servicing.
Got my first cartilage piercing here a while back. Im not a big fan of needles so I was nervous. The man who pierced my ear was super friendly and helped me choose the exact spot I wanted. He made a few jokes and helped me calm down. They went over aftercare and my piercing turned out perfect. The best part is the price. Its reasonable and each day of the week they have a piercing special where a certain piercing costs less. This is now my go to place!
It was quick and the cashier and person who pierced my ears were friendly including their manager Brittany. Brandon another staff member was very informative with facial jewelry which helped. Will visit next time I get another piercing.
Note- this is a review on the front desk, not the piercing or tattoo artists. This place is bustling, aka there are a ton of people walking in and out throughout the day. I was in need of some replacement gold jewelry and took the bustling to be a good sign of quality and service, so I walked over… but I was mistaken. Guy at the front desk was very rude and told me to “use my mind’s eye” among some other passive-aggressive comments when I asked to see the jewelry out of the display box. He then walked away. After waiting 10 minutes for his assistance as he stood idle chit chatting behind the counter, I just left and went down the street to Mom’s Body Shop, where I found just what I was looking for - better customer service, albeit slightly less vast jewelry selection.
I took a friend of mine to get a piercing here and it was super fast. Their piercing didn’t get infected, it was super affordable given its The City, and the atmosphere is very cool. Not exactly a “hippie vibe” that’s associated with the Haight Adhbury District but it fits in really well here.I’m personally hoping to get some work done there in the future.
I feel like two starts might be generous for my experience here but the front desk girl was amazing - super helpful and great service - so the stars are for her. However, the piercer didnt ask me details about what he was piercing, looked at the piece of paper and pierced the WRONG HOLE. This was a previously irritated cartilage piercing that I had to take out two years ago and my ear has been in pain and swollen for two days now. I have two new piercings in my ears Im happy with but is doused by how much throbbing pain my cartilage has been in. I spent close to $300 - went in for two new ear piercings and to just put an earring in another cartilage piercing I already had (this was the one he didnt confirm and proceeded to taper the wrong hole with a needle instead of just putting an earring in). I honestly cant believe this happened. Asking questions, making sure youre piecing the right area/hole is essential to getting something pierced. At this point I dont know what else I can do but write a review so people know to make sure their piercer is paying attention at Haight Ashbury Tattoo and Piercing.
As someone who gets faint at needles I was nervous about getting my lip pierced. The piercer was very reassuring and calmed me as well as anyone could, and the studio had a relaxed atmosphere. The procedure itself was quick and I got to lie down afterwards with a glass of water until I felt good to go. The piercing looks great.
The people that work here are great and are willing to answer questions to make you feel at ease about your new piercing or tattoo. I got my tongue pierced here when they had a special for it on Saturday and it was just $35!It was a great deal and the piercer was very professional and made sure I understood how to clean and care for my piercing.
My experience was awesome here. A gentleman by the name of Wes pierced my nose and he made me feel extremely relaxed. He also made us laugh a lot. The nice young woman that greeted us at the register and explained the process was very nice and helpful. I do not know here name but she has green hair. I will totally go back here and get something else done. Thank you so much for making my experience so comfortable & fun. One that I will never forget!!!D.Kelley, Orlando, FL
Great relaxed atmosphere. I went in with the idea for a tattoo and Nicholas the tattoo artist ran with it and drew up a sketch of something I loved. Ducked out for an ice-cream to think about it, then went back and got it. I love it. This is my second tattoo and I found this one much more relaxing and the staff were very friendly.
6 months later & my piercing still looks great & it healed relatively fast. I still clean my nose piercing every 2 weeks but very professional work. Im satisfied & would recommend anyone I know who is looking for a nose piercing.
My favorite place to get a piercing, they are so nice here. I got my ears pieced here a couple of times and the guy that helped me were so cool and I didnt even feel a thing when they did my piercings. They are super clean and fast with the service. Time for a new piercing soon. :)
My girlfriend and I went in as walk-ins yesterday and we couldnt be more satisfied! Our artists were Nick and Machy. Nick had great customer service, was extremely talented, and really knew his stuff. Machy was great at keeping a relaxing atmosphere and drew up an awesome little design for me.The store itself is very clean and all employees are professional. Definitely would go back again.
My experience at Haight Ashbury Tattoo and Piercing was great. I made an appointment 5 days in advance. Walked in and discussed with my artist. It took him about 20 minutes to draw up my tattoo (keep in mind it was all script) and 40 minutes to tatt me up. Overall, a great experience - short and sweet.
I forgot my piercings that I purchased from them at the shop and asked them to send them to me in Sacramento and they did! Very appreciated, and I love my jewelry. 10/ 10 would shop here again. I also bought CBD lotion from them for my mom to relive pain from her hernia surgery and she loves it.
This is the one to go too. Not only were they friendly, knowledgable, and professional, they also were very open about which costs how much. The shop we went in before (Cold Steel) on the other hand, only showed us the very expensive studs and only until I asked, did I get shown (or made aware of) lesser priced ones. Did not like that sales technique and was so happy when we got a much more open vibe at this shop. Good Job Haight Ashbury!!
The prices are really fair for such high quality. Phil was my perforationist, and he clearly knew what he was doing. He was super personable and tried to get me out of my head when he could tell I was nervous. I love my helix piercing.
I had a tattoo done there with Shanti. It was super cool, thé design was really nice. WE had a good Time chatting while the tattoo was done. It IS looking super nice now, i highly recommand this tattoo artiste :)
I decided to pop in and inquire about the cost of two tattoo ideas I had. I end up leaving 45mins later with two new tattoos that I truly love. Alex is very precise and even though he gave me a hard time about one of my design choices he was able to recreate the look and did an excellent job of creating fine dark lines.I definitely plan on going back for more!
Me and my girlfriend had a super experience getting tattoos at Haight Ashbury Tattoo and Piercing! We just walked in from the street and were greeted by very friendly staff and this great tattoo artist Tyler, who was both very nice and professional. Would totally go back there if I wanted another tattoo next time visiting SF.
Amazing place! Both me and my mother went for tattoos on drop in. The service was great and the staff where nice, calm and helpful! And the finished products both turned out great. Would recommend!Edit: Also shoutout to Machy for the support he had for us who had never gotten tattooed before. Great guy.
Great place. They are all awesome there. Got a tattoo and piercing both were quick and easy to do.
Me and my girlfriend had an awsome experience at Haight Ashbury Tattoo and Piercing. The staff was very friendly and our tattoo artist, Tyler, was so nice and professional. The outcome of our matching tattoos was great and i definetly recommend getting a tattoo here!
A group of us went in yesterday for small tats. Dave was our artist, he was cool af. We were in and out after 3 tattoos in less than an hour. This place was totally chill and we really enjoyed the experiance!! His work was good, painless and quick no bs
I thought he was nice but when I did not like his third touch up pen demo on my 24 yr old ankle butterfly I needed redone he said this was supposed to be a quick tattoo he also touched my upper thigh twice with his hand and I feel that all businesses should be professional so did not like that. A tattoo is forever so when I felt rushed I apologized and left he said what a waste of time I was there 10 maybe 15 mins max. It was that guys fault I did not like the first pen marks because he kept drawing a new butterfly that did not cover the old one. If u want to be sexually harassed and treated like dirt tattoo here. Skanky and rude.
Very friendly right when you walk in! loved the atmosphere and the Lil shop! Got both my targus pierced by Wes, he was awesome and very down to earth !! Also very professional! Great place to go for piercings! : ]
The peircer is a really nice guy! And super chill as well as alk the other tattoo artist. Me and my friends made it a tradition to get all our first tats at haight and we all love it there! The service is great and the vibes are really good!! Would definately come back for my future tats
They have an absolutely amazing selection of candles and vintage stuff there, along with some very friendly and experienced piercers. I wasnt super impressed with their body jewelry inventory, but it was sufficient for what I was looking for, so fine by me.
Been coming here for 2 years now & love this place always
Got a conch and double lobe piercing here and had a great experience. Bit of a wait to get back, but extremely reasonably priced jewelry and piercings, and a great piercer who clearly knows what hes doing!
Did an on the spot ying-yang tramp stamp in 2009 while my fathers health in Michigan was failing. My first trip to SF after wanting to go since a teenager, I was 58 at the time. Been sober and clean since 1983, and needed to do SOMETHING to memorialize my trip to the Mecca. Seeing the dude at the corner of Haight and Ashbury smoking a doobie and joining in was out of the question, but while passing this shop it hit me. We had just seen people doing Tai Chi in the park and I had also been learning the form, so the symbol was speaking to me. Staff was incredible about fitting me in, and price was more than fair. Clean place, and great surroundings. Incredible flash book of some great ink art. Would seriously go back when in town again...PS..got back to Michigan and my father died 5 days later. The Ying-yang energy got me through. Thanks folks for being there.
They did a wonderful job on my tattoo. The artist was skilled and knowledgeable and he was so nice during the whole thing. Thank you Machi. You did a great job. I will come again for a second tattoo
I got two tattoos from this shop. (Ignore the diamond) especially the tattooist for that sun and moon he was awesome. Sadly he don’t work there anymore but still this place will be my future concern if I need a another one.
My boyfriend and I came in while we were on a weekend trip and decided to get matching tattoos. I got a simple little heart on my left wrist. One side of the heart is round and the other side is square. 🙄 Go figure #sloppy
Friendly, bright, beautiful shop with quality artists and handmade jewelry and plugs.
I only rated 3 stars , I didnt buy nothing didnt get no piercing, I only drop off my wife to get her ear piercing, so I gave it a 3 stars wifey said they did a good job piercing her ear, and plus it was quick!..
I had a great piecing experience yesterday! I’ve been wanting another outer rim cartilage piercing for awhile and I finally found a good spot to get it. The paperwork and checkout process were quick and easy; I paid $35 for the jewelry+piercing, and $12 for H2Ocean cleanser. They have daily piercing specials so that the prices for certain types of piercings are reduced day to day (call them about it), but I couldn’t wait until Thursday. The person who pierced me was quick, made sure I was okay with placement, and sanitary!! Definitely come here for affordable and high quality piercings. My only discrepancy is that the back of my stud is quite long, and the backing is a ball, not a flat back as I’ve gotten from a different place in the back.
The new space is really beautiful, and they have a great selection of jewelry. Everyone there was super welcoming and friendly. This is def my go-to spot from now on! :)
Good little local piercing and tattoo shop. Had a friend of a friend pierce my nostril a few years ago. Still rocking it.They also sell random art stuff in the store. Jump inside to check out the work of the staff.
Really nice. Got 3 piercings there. Went back after I got a keloid (happens) and they fave me treatment steps and instructed me to come back if it got any worse so they could look at it.
Got tattooed by Tyler today, he’s just lovely. Kind and great work, he checked on me a bunch throughout, did a precise and beautiful job and I can’t wait to go back for more.
I got a tattoo from Nicholas. He did an awesome job. I told him what I wanted to do and he was able to to picture exactly what I wanted done. All the staff there are supper friendly.
I’ve gotten many piercing and tattoos here and everyone who works there is always very nice
Service was alright, one of the cashiers were rude, and the only reason for the 2 star is because if the actual piercer. He was chill and cool
Wanted to get a piercing walked in to ask if they can do it or how long the wait was never got greeted receptionist and another employee just kept talking to each other. Walked out after 10 minutes of waiting and went to another shop
Nice tattoo/piercing shop in Haight/Ashbury neighborhood, got my 2nd earlobe pierced for good price including jewelry, didnt need to wait long.
Really easy piercing process. Phil is great. Walks you through everything methodically and you feel at ease.
Just popped in for a random tattoo and I was taken care of! Did a damn good job!
I find it interesting the meme of going to H&A for a tatoo is backed up by what I can only describe as a clean and fast process parlor + shop that will sort you out guaranteed
Very rude and not helpful, felt really bad vibes from the cashier. There are way better shops in the city to go to that make you feel welcome and appreciate your business.
I love the Haight-Ashbury suppose they have a lot of stores and you can buy stuff and talk to you can get them in Pearsons everything I like the food the app and everything about the Haight is good I give it an A plus
Eclectic fun and just an array of cool shops, San Fran culture in the Hippie hill...lots of vintage shops, recycled clothing shops artistic and cultural same vibe as Sunset Blvd in LA but smaller lots of good spots for gabbing sum Grub...have fun
Great shop ..! Thanks to Cris for his kindness and patience. I am very happy with the result.🤗😊 Thanks again next time I hope to speak a little better americain😉😄

Reliably the best piercings Ive ever had: painless, fast, great prices!
Great place for piercings. Must check out their daily specials before you go!
Got my eyebrow and nose pierced here! The wait is usually an hour, so I would wait and go browse around the street before coming back to the store!
Dave took care of us and gave us a simple, yet well done tattoo that we really appreciated.
Love getting my piercings done by Wes. Prices are affordable for me. Thanks!
My friend got a tattoo there and the tattoo artist was cool and gave suggestions to my friend to make the tattoo better
My daughter and I got matching ankle tattoos. Fun experience, sweet job .
If you ever go here for a tattoo make sure you goto David he has 12 years experience and is vary professional and chill AF
Ask for Kevin or Nick. Get a tattoo. Be happy. Everyone else there will also make you happy. Thank me later.
Great working people there super friendly and make you comfortable and they treat you with open arms
We had an appointment, waited over an hour, then we were there on time , heard our name called, they took someone else instead and told us we couldnt even go next.
I was a walk in and I got a cat-too on my finger by Tyler. The service was excellent and I would recommend him! 🤩
