Marcus was great! My son and I came from Seattle area. Our first stop was Two Cranes Tattoo. I had contacted them and was told to call or walk in at noon to be scheduled that day. Called at 12:30 in at 3:30 out by 5:30. The tattoos are Awesome! The service was fantastic! Highly recommend them.

Two Cranes is a great place to get a tattoo. It’s located in China Town on Sacramento Street. The business opens at 12 noon daily and parking is scarce so be sure to take ride share. One of my favorite aspects of the shop in addition to the overall vibe and aesthetic is that they take walk-ins. There is a booking page on the website but I highly encourage anyone interested to call when they open and see if there is availability. All of the artists are great and I highly recommend Dan!

Ive gotten two tattoos from Dr. Christine here and she is the best! Designing the tattoos with her and getting them with her were super easy and smooth. Its a great cherry on top that shes very easy to talk to and puts you at ease while youre getting your tattoo!

Had an appointment yesterday (July 4th) with Erin. To say that she was AMAZING would be an understatement! She was so kind, welcoming and professional. My time in the shop from start to finish was beyond enjoyable. She took my idea and really brought it to life! I was there to get a tattoo that is very special to me and I could not be happier with the end result. I will be back. I will send people here. I will speak highly of this artist and this shop every chance I get. Thank you again!

It was my first tattoo and I was guided super well through the process. Marcus also saved me transit money and showed me to a fantastic restaurant down the road. When Im in the area again I would definitely come back!

Dora was great! Came in for a same day appointment for two tattoos and was immediately welcomed into the shop by everyone. Dora understood exactly what I was looking to get done, gave me multiple options and was incredibly transparent on the best placement for my tattoos. Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely be coming back for another tattoo.

I had sent an email request to Two Cranes about a tattoo I wanted to get after much back and forth the person told me that they can do it but upon arrival the artist said otherwise. I don’t appreciate the lack of communication if this was something they were unable to do they should of told me from the beginning. The $40 consultation fee doesn’t go towards your tattoo nor is it refundable. I am glad I had friends who were able to smack some sense into me and tell me to flee. Because it wasn’t what I wanted and I was about to settle for something I did not want. The people seemed moved but it felt like a scam I rather purchase a flight and get tattooed by my artist in LA.

Really clean and welcoming shop. Got my first tattoo here and definitely was nervous before coming in, but Dan was super helpful and he and the shop both just had a great, calm vibe that made it easy to relax. The tattoo came out perfect, exactly what I wanted. I couldnt have asked for a better experience.

I called them up to see if They took walk-ins And just explained what I wanted and they said sure come on up very courteous very kind very professional great place to get a tattoo in San Francisco. Came in on a Tuesday, late afternoon, with a few ideas for handwritten tattoos. David was incredibly knowledgable, clear about how much time wed have, and made suggestions on placement. Appointment was efficient, handwriting is clear and matches the examples exactly, and pricing was stellar.

My girlfriend and I have been here twice for our anniversary tattoos and have been beyond happy every time. Both times they accepted us as a walk in and if you get tattoos in SF you know how hard it is but they make it work and you get what you pay for which in this case is absolutely beautiful work done professionally. Wonderful experience working with Christine on a 3 inch tattoo, really fine lines and delicate art. She happened to have an extra time slot with about two weeks notice, and everything was clearly arranged and clarified beforehand. Its been about a year and a half and the tattoo has healed well and its still very clear.

Awesome place from start to finish. They squeezed us in for last minute matching tattoos to end our girls trip out west. Angeldust was excellent and we are so happy with it. Unprofessional and inconsiderate of clients time: I booked an appointment with Christine, and I take full responsibility for not realizing the a rib tattoo would require more time than the slot I originally chose. Thats definitely on me. However, she did not reach out to me before the appointment about this detail, so I show up to my appointment thinking all is well. At this point, she mentions that 2 hours is likely not enough time (fair enough) and asks if I would consider getting the tattoo in another location; she also mentions that she had considered sending me an email but decided not to (???)It was just incredibly frustrating for me to spend over an hour on public transportation (one way) to have a conversation that couldve easily been had over email. It truly felt like she was being disrespectful of my time, and it was very off putting and left a bad taste in my mouth. Whether or not it was intentional, I felt like I was being pressured to say yes to simply getting the tattoo in another location when I was there in person, and I would not feel comfortable returning.Again, very valid and reasonable concerns were brought up, and its on me for accidentally booking a shorter appointment initially -- but there was no reason we couldnt discuss this over email. Although Christines work is beautiful, and I love the cultural art she does, given my own background, this experience has turned me away from ever wanting to book another appointment with her.Please be respectful of peoples time, and I wish you the best in your scientific and tattooing career (genuinely).

When on vacation in Dan Francisco I decided to get a small and simple tattoo. I looked on Google Maps for a couple walk-in tattooshops and found Tow Cranes Tattoo shop.I hopped in on Monday evening and they told me I could get my tattoo on Wednesday at opening time, and so I did.It was my very first tattoo, which was made by Marcus. He did a very good job and got me trough it quickly. It took about 18 minutes to finish it and exactly 100USD.I now have my very first tattoo for nearly 4 days, without any kind of pain on my arm (except a little bit for the afternoon on day 1). There is also no rash or any kind of agitation on my skin.I can only recommend to go to this nice place in case youre interested in getting a nice tattoo.A big thanks to Marcus and the shop! 🙏🏼💯

Dan was my artist, did an amazing touch-up on my tattoo that faded. Was honest about what color ink I should get and was a great conversationalist! Got me in same day appointment. Would recommend to anyone!

Received text 10 minutes Before. Our appointment that he was An hour and Half Behind. Granted he Did have 3 people getting a tattoo when he Only expected one. But We ended up waiting. 2 1/2 hours. Ok Fine. My wife gets her tattoo ( we got matching ones of where we got married) and looks pretty good. Mine on the other hand was completely rushed. Half the lines on the tattoo barely inked. In and will likely need immediate touch up once They’re healed, which sucks because we came from Michigan to get these while on vacation, so now I have to pay someone else to touch it up because Marcus rushed because he didn’t. Handle his previous clients accordingly when they booked a one tattoo appointment for 3 people . Shop was very clean and looked be clean and professional. Just very disappointed that my tattoo was rushed because Of other negligence.

I am pleased and grateful that I went to Two Cranes Tattoo and had Nelbo give me my first Tattoo. Nelbo was very professional and creative in helping me create my Tattoo. This place offers walk in appointments which is the reason why we came. Unfortunately we were not able to get one that day because they were super busy and it was our last day in San Francisco. The timing just didnt work out. However if we had stayed we wouldnt have for sure gotten our vacation tattoos here. The guy at the front desk (sorry, didnt catch a name) was so freaking nice and accommodating and patient and friendly. Some tattoo shops can be intimidating and the vibe can be off but this place was not like that at all. If we go back to San Francisco and are in the mood, well definitely visit here again.

My friend and I were on vacation and decided at the spur of the moment to get tattoos. Walked in and was able to get right in. Our artist was Dan. Yup Dan is the man!! He did an Amazing job. His professionalism and positive attitude was great. His attention to all the details were above and beyond.I highly recommend his services.

I greatly appreciate artists confessing their limitations but what I cant get behind is poor communication and lack of empathy in time wasted.Artist (initials M.H) strung me along for 2 months only to say he couldnt do my tattoo due to my scar. I really liked his work, so I turned down 4 other tattoo artists willing to do it and now Im back to square 1 and have to start the process all over again.He initially said he was gonna do it and not at any point did he mention he had reservations about my scar. If he did, I certainly wouldnt have put all my eggs in his basket. I kept on messaging him throughout the process and the communication was very sporadic.And when he eventually declined after me waiting almost 2 months and I voiced my frustration about how unhappy I was for being strung along, he just left me on read.

I’m so glad I snagged an appointment here while visiting SF. Dan was the most chill artist to work with and the design and his work are fantastic. I’m beyond happy and already excited to return next time I’m in SF. Thanks for the smooth experience.

Two Cranes Tattoo is amazing!!!!My friend and I were visiting San Francisco from out of town and decided to get small tattoos last minute. The tattoo artist James had appointments all day but decided to fit us in at the last minute. He was super nice, professional, and fun to converse with; in addition, he was very receptive to my particular wants for my tattoo and I loved the results. Overall it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone in San Francisco.

Great experience! I am in San Francisco for a long weekend and I made the mistake of not making a tattoo appointment ahead of time… I did some research and found that they take walk ins so I called the same day right when they opened at noon and made an appointment! I even was able to make an appointment with the artist that I wanted (after researching their work on their website). James was GREAT! I’ll definitely be back if I return to San Francisco.

My partner and I both came to the shop for walk-in appointments and had beautiful custom pieces designed and tattooed by James. He was professional, worked fast, and most importantly did an incredible job. The shop itself was clean and comfortable, great location and very easy to find. We will be coming back to work with James again soon!

Amazing experience! I got my (first) tattoo done by Beeso (Jamie) and it was the absolute best & exceeded my expectations. She was super patient and helpful and took her time making sure I got what I wanted. Super gentle handed and the session was done faster than I thought too! Highly recommend.

I had a tattoo done by James. I have a few other tattoos that I really love from amazing artists. And I’m happy to say that James is now another one of those amazing artists. You can tell how much care goes into the tattoo. As an added benefit, he was kind, friendly, and made me comfortable on the bench. The shop has a wonderful atmosphere and you should go here. :)

Me and my boyfriend came from Dallas to San Fran and got tattooed by Nicolas and it was a great experience. He was very professional yet comforting and was able to give us a design better than we asked for! And executed it even greater! Very clean environment, very friendly staff. Responded very fast to my emails and was patient with me when describing what I wanted. Would highly recommend to anyone around the area and visitors! Will definitely be returning when we come back!

I had my medium sized custom piece done by the wonderful Jamie. Obviously I love her style, but what I really appreciated was that she sent me a draft a week in advance. It really made a difference not to feel the pressure of moving forward with a design because you’re put on the spot. It’s also nice to know that she put real time into it and didn’t just sketch something up in the spot. I would definitely go to her for my next piece.

One of the sweetest tattoo experiences I’ve had with my artist named Jamie (beeso_tattoo) at Two Cranes! If you get a chance to work with her, I can guarantee you’ll have such a great experience. She is super patient, attentive and really wants you to be satisfied with with how your tattoo looks on your body. She’s also very reassuring so if it’s your first time getting a tattoo, you can rest-easy because she will give you a great atmosphere. I only got her flashes this time around (but still so perfect!!) so I will be coming back for a custom (and more flashes 😅). Her work is beautiful and her energy is just as lovely! Jamie will most likely be my go-to artist even if she’s two hours away from where I live.April 3, 2022 update:Came back for another tattoo session with Jamie and brought along my bestfriend to get a bff tat together- a crane to be exact! The experience was comfortable and so welcoming (as always). Jamie did so well on my bffs’ tattoo although it was on his rib- he barely felt any pain for majority of the tattoo (she is super light-handed). When it was my turn I had a breeze with the tattoo and it came out so lovely! She is always trying her best to keep her clients comfortable and relaxed. There was a little mishap and one of my other tattoos wasn’t correlated with the time and Jamie was still able to fit in one of her beautiful flashes although I know she was super tired. I’m so appreciative of her and for making my second visit and experience so worth while. Her art and skills really shows that she loves what she does and she’s great at it as well. Will visit soon again- for sure 💗

Visiting from out of state, I came to two cranes as a walk in, and James managed to fit me in within an hour. He did my very first tattoo and was understanding, personable, and walked me through everything. I was in and out within an hour and a half and he did a great job!

My husband and i called and they got us in the same day to do a tattoo on both of us. they were very nice and did wonderfully on our tattoos. i would recommend the men who tattooed us but we can’t remember their names. the business is nice though and we would love to go back for something bigger the next time we visit san francisco.

My wife went for a Tattoo. The original artist had a personal issue and could not keep the appointment, but Nichols stepped in, asked questions, asked if my wife was comfortable with him doing the tattoo, drew up a pattern and got it done. The results are amazing!! (No picture for privacy here.)

Just got a mini monstera leaves tattoo today from James at Two Cranes! It was my first, I was very anxious, and he was super patient with me. It came out really good. ✌ @ first-timers, definitely fully decide what you want before you go to any tattoo shop. Its a commitment lol!

Had one of the most horrible experiences I have ever experienced at any tattoo shop talking to an artist. I came in hopes to be able to some POSSIBLE tattoo sketches done as a gift for my significant other. A simple gift idea with NOTHING SET IN STONE, I only wanted SKETCHES instead the artist, nicholas, who I wanted the commission from completely humiliated me and yelled at me for wanting a simple sketch and refused to let me explain that I was not choosing a tattoo for someone else. Horrible customer service and completely unprofessional one of the worst experiences i have ever had. A simple this isn’t something I could do for you would have been the way to go.

I came here for a walk in just to talk over an idea with some artists. Was not really expecting to get my piece done here, but after hanging out for a while and getting to know a Nicholas Lee, he helped me plan out how the piece was going to look and helped me crystalize the idea. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the shop, creativity and the professionalism of the artists. Will definitely be getting my next piece here.

I was very pleased to see Nelbos face light up with excitement after explaining what I wanted when he asked. He was very quick to draw what I put into words. The placement was flawless the 1st time which rarely happens. The tattoo was on both tops of feet, with shading it took like an hour tops of actual tattooing. He asked how old I was, I responded 29 and I asked why he asked, he tells me pain tolerance depletes with age & that I was taking it like a champ I jokingly replied its just like a foot rub but really compartmentalizing the pain inside. Was a bit pricey I thought at first but considering the real-estate it took on my body & how quick and easy he made it seem it was very worth the money especially knowing Im supporting a career that has been out of work for 6 months since lockdown. Book now!

Went in with a family member to get a quick tattoo. My family member decided they wanted a nice but quick one of the Golden Gate, and let me tell you, did they deliver. Phenomenal professionalism, great line work, great pricing. Definitely coming back whenever in China Town.

I called at 12pm on a Thursday and was able to come in right away as a walk-in. This was my first tattoo and Bryon made the experience a pleasant one. I would definitely recommend both the shop and Bryon.

I am currently sitting here getting a tattoo on my arm. Possibly the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. The place is clean and stylish, the artists are friendly, professional and are very good at what they do! Will definitely be back next time I am in SF!! Nelbo does incredible work!!!

Tried to make an Apt. and the told me to come in cause they take walk ins. I walked in and he told me to come back at 6:30. 4 hours later. I came back at 6:30 and they were too busy to take me and the owner was extremely dismissive, rude and talked down to me and my three friends. All women. Couldn’t believe how disrespectful he was being making it seem like it was my fault for following his original request to come back later. The only thing he could say to me, “sometimes things just don’t work out!” Future clients: Spend your money elsewhere.

My friends and I decided to get tattoos while in San Francisco and let me tell you… it was the least painful tattoo I’ve ever had and it was so quick! But there was no loss of quality, the line work is gorgeous.

This establishment is AMAZING! I tripped & fell up the street & a customer came out & went back in to see if they could clean up my skinned elbow. They didnt hesitate to clean it & apply the 2nd skin.

Pretty decent, only to have a bit of the bottom of my tatoo fade a little, and then to realize it wasnt a original peice that other clients had something similar that I had paid $300 for.... was excited, but more so a tad disappointed, that other clients had something more so similar... as it was also a bit of his suggestion.. but still likeable.. as he actually let me be the last client despite the process going over the closing time

Guy was rude and judgmental from the beginning. Wanted $250 for a simple line work tattoo. Got defensive when I asked why so much for a 4 inch, black and white piece. Overall bad experience and walked out.

Somewhere between most comforting and most skilled is where I rate Nicholas Lee as a tattooer. His art is pure style and pure heart- a rare rare combination. A true gentleman and a very master technician.

Waited an hour past my appointment to even talk to my artist & then after not liking the placement twice was told we didn’t have enough time to discuss another design so i left with my arm shaved and a stencil stained on it.

We got tattooed here with my boyfriend and we loved it. James tattoos very well, he is very kind, he stayed later to finish our tattoos. The place is also beautiful, it has an excellent atmosphere and it is very clean and neat.We were convinced from the start when we saw it.We got tattoos here with my bf and we loved it. James is such a good tattoo artist and really kind! He even stayed more time with us to help us get our tattoos done. Place is also really nice, beautifully set. Its really clean and tidy.We were convinced this was the place to go the second we saw it.
